CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Viewing PSReportFactoryClass gone in BO BI 4.0?

The CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Viewing namespace and PSReportFactoryClass was available in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 and as far back as Crystal Enterprise 10 .NET according to the BOE XI 3.1 .NET API guide.
But it is no where to be found in the BO BI 4.0 .NET API guide. Is using the RAS .NET SDK and the ReportAppFactoryClass the only alternative?
I've avoided using RAS due to previous stability and memory leak issues and since I don't need report design features, using the Page Server I thought was the natural approach that was also more stable.
Is this something that will be reintroduced in 4.1 or is there another approach?

See .NET SDK for BI/BOE 4.0

  • Unable to get to Business Rules in Enterprise View

    Hi to all! :) I successfully connected to the Essbase Server but when I click on Business Rules folder in Enterprise View, I get the message: +"Error logging in to Business Rules. The repository has not been configured or you are not authorized to use Business Rules"+. I also clicked "Get detail" in the error message box and it said: +"Error creating DBConfig object. Please check if there are exceptions in the log file and if HBR is configured correctly".+ I checked my permissions in Shared Services and I am sure that I am provisioned to use Business Rules; and moreover, a few days ago I worked with business rules without problems, and now I have this problem and I cannot guess what might cause it and how to fix it. I would be very grateful for any hints!

    Hi,
    We have the same problem. While I know restarting the aas service fixes it, it recurs quite frequently. Does anyone know of a more permanent fix for this problem?
    Thanks.

  • Business Rules Icon in EAS Enterprise view

    Dear All,
    I am currently using Hyperion planning 11.1.2.2, in EAS the Business rules icon (To use graphical mode) is not displayed in Enterprise view.
    EPMA and calculation manager are not installed, I use instead classic application .
    When I checked the roles attributed to admin user (Provisioning Tree) in Shared services, I did not find Business rules Role in the "Available Roles" Panel (the left one : there is only essbase cluster,foundation and planning)
    Is it related to essbase installation? I did not install essbase integration service.
    PS: when I created my application I could not choose Business Rules in the Application creation panel, it was not available back then
    thank you for your help.
    Regards

    From the docs : "Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager has replaced Oracle Hyperion Business Rules as the mechanism for designing and managing business rules, therefore, Business Rules is no longer released with EPM System Release 11.1.2.2. If you are applying 11.1.2.2 as a maintenance release, or upgrading to Release 11.1.2.2, and have been using Business Rules in an earlier release, you must migrate to Calculation Manager rules in Release 11.1.2.2."
    Cheers

  • Unable to see any servers under 'enterprise view' in eas

    Hi all,
    A while back, I added all servers in the eas console, and was able to see and access them all using the eas url:
    http://easserver:10080/easconsole/console.html
    When I logged in today, I am unable to see anything under 'enterprise view'. not even any options to add servers. I searched in this forum, and tried experimenting with different java versions. The only version of java that works with our eas in version: 1.6+.(we are using EPM 11.1.2).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.ServerAdmin

    Hello,
    I'm trying to do something similar to: http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/en/BOE_SDK/boesdk_com_doc/doc/boesdk_com_doc/SampleCode70.html#160874 in VB.NET
    Function GetFileServerSettings(IStore, FileServerId)
        Dim Servers
        Dim FileServer
        Dim HTMLTable
        Dim MaxIdleTime
        Dim RootDirectory
        ' Query for the selected File Repository Server.
        Set Servers = IStore.Query("Select SI_NAME From CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS Where " & _
                                     "SI_KIND='Server' And SI_ID=" & FileServerId)
         ' Get the CrystalFileServerAdminLib plugin.
        Set FileServer = Servers.Item(1).PluginInterface("").ServerAdmin
        ' Get the current settings for the File Repository Server.
        MaxIdleTime = FileServer.MaxIdleTime
        RootDirectory = FileServer.RootDirectory
        ' Create the table for the File Repository Server settings.
        HTMLTable = "<TABLE BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=3 CELLSPACING=3>"
        HTMLTable = HTMLTable & "<TR><TD>Maximum idle time in minutes:</TD>"
        HTMLTable = HTMLTable & "<TD><INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME='MaxIdleTime' VALUE='" & MaxIdleTime & "' SIZE=5></TD></TR>"
        HTMLTable = HTMLTable & "<TR><TD>Root directory:</TD>"
        HTMLTable = HTMLTable & "<TD><INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME='RootDirectory' VALUE='" & RootDirectory & "' SIZE=50></TD></TR>"
        HTMLTable = HTMLTable & "</TABLE>"
        Response.Write HTMLTable
    End Function
    In my VB.NET app, I have a variable called serverAdmin that has a value of {CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.ServerAdmin}, but when I drill down, the only thing I see inside is a method called "Interface" that has a value of {System.__ComObject}.  However, I can't figure out how to get to the FileServer.RootDirectory, any idea how to do this?

    Instead of trying to port the classic asp example, use the VB.NET examples at:

  • Could not load file or assembly CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.User

    I had briefly looked into Crystal Reports within my Visual Studio 2008 solution. However since the project needed to be done quickly I removed the report and the references to Crystal.  Now I have deployed my application using Publish onto my QA server where I am getting the following error.  I checked my references, webconfig and imports to make sure the solution didnt have anything tied to Crystal and found nothing.  Why am I getting this error when I am no longer using the product?  Is there some way to remove the requirement for the assembly?  I also tried installing the Crystal Reports 2008 basic redistributable to my server with no luck.

    There has to be a reference to it somewhere in the project or it would not be throwing the error.
    You will have to recheck each page, references, web.config, compile options, etc, until you find it.
    Make sure you don't have it in a using statement or are referencing it directly in code.

  • Mail Viewing Options Gone.  I need to DISABLE automatically marking a message as read!

    In Lion, the Mail Viewing options to disable automatically marking a viewed message as read are gone!  I absolutely NEED to disable automatically marking a viewed message as read!  How can I disable this if the option isn't present?  Is there a workaround?

    Ok...I take part of what I said back. It was MailActOn by InDev which allowed me to not automatically have a message marked as read.  See http://indev.ca/MailActOn.html for more info.
    Apparently the version I had loaded wasn't compatible with Lion Mail.app.  Since updating it, I know have this feature again.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Design view is gone

    I did a full page layout and everything looked great.  I uploaded the site and it looks fine but there are a few things I need to change.  I went back to Dreamweaver and the design view image is gone.  All that shows is a gray image witha small box in the upper left corner that shows a small box that looks like a missing image icon?  Anyway, nothing else.  The code is still there and when I go to preview in browser, it still shows the site.  I do most of my work in both design view and code so would really like to find a resolve to this.  Thanks!

    You have a problem with the markup of your page.. viewing the page in FFox I could see a line of stray 'text' at the very top of the page...
    You  need to fix the syntax here:
    <body class="twoColFixRtHdr" onload="MM_preloadImages('images/print_button_f2.jpg','images/web_button_f2.jpg','images/emarketing_button_f2.jpg','images/portfolio_button_f2.jpg','images/contactButton_f2.jpg','images/printOffer2.jpg','images/webOffer2.jpg','images/flash_images/print.gif','images/flash_images/Web.gif','images/flash_images/emarketing.gif')" tracingsrc="Firewo<meta name="description" content="J Fusek Design offering customized, quality print and web design at very affordable prices." />
    rks/JFD_Web_FINAL_2009.png" tracingopacity="0">
    See the line before: <div id="container">
    rks/JFD_Web_FINAL_2009.png" tracingopacity="0">   <------this is the line that is not closed correctly and is seen in the browser.  Looks like it belongs to another line and somehow, maybe deleting something or other and this has been left behind.
    Once you fix that section of the code, then put the page through the validator and check to see if there are other problems:
    HTML Validator - http://validator.w3.org
    CSS Validator - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    You have a few errors in the lightbox stylesheet that need correcting
    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css21&warning=0&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww. jfusekdesign.com%2Findex2.html
    Hopefully once all the errors are eliminated the page will show correctly in DW.  It only takes an unclosed tag for example, for the page to fail to show up in design view  :-)

  • JSP Design View is gone

    I created a project and made some JSP pages successfully. Everything is working.
    When I started the Creator the second time, the design view of some of my JSP pages are gone. Theere's a grey panel for the design view.
    I checked the source view and it looks like the source is good and untouched.
    What's going on here? How can I recover the design view?
    thanks

    The dead designer is usually caused by problems (bugs) in the underlying subsystem that parses and models the source code. Take a look at the log file and if you have any interesting exceptions there, you can provide them here and we can take a look.
    One of the problems that was recently fixed for an EA update had to do with parsing arrays and array initializers. I am not sure when that update will be available, but, in the mean time, if you have arrays in your source, try commenting them out.
    Another problem that exists has to do with referencing types defined in your other sources. Try using fully-qualified classnames for those.
    I hope this helps.

  • Where have the view icons gone! and why cant i scroll my album artwork anymore, instead i have an ugly grid!!

    im trying to set up itunes on my new laptop, and all the library view icons have now gone, so easy switching from the ugly grid, to list or scrolling artwork seems to no longer be an option.
    have apple stopped this on a down grade? or am i missing a vital clue to where its hiding, had a look on the help page and there seems no mention of it any more.

    The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
    In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
    ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
    CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
    CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
    CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
    Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
    Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
    If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
    With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
    If you feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Enterprise Flash Deployment Gone Wrong

    I recently deployed Flash Player 13 from ConfigMgr. First I ran the Flash uninstaller then the msi to install Flash. Flash is now broken on all machines. For troubleshooting I've gone to broken machines and manually performed the steps that ConfigMgr did. First I verify that Flash is indeed listed in Add/Remove programs. Next I run the uninstaller followed by the installer. The installer fails. The message I get indicates that the installer is looking for the msi for Flash 10 which is not available. (yes 10 really). I get an error however looking in Add Remove Programs Flash 13 is listed which matches up to what I saw with the ConfigMgr deployment. All the clients reported success to ConfigMgr even though the install isn't working correctly. I then try the msi for Flash 14 and it does the same thing. I can go to adobe.com and run the install from there and it works great. What can I do to resolve this on a mass scale?

    I was able to determine that deploying the Flash .exe file works. It's just the msi installer that does not work. Any help from anyone at Adobe would be greatly appreciated. I can't even find a contact number for enterprise Flash player deployment support. Not even a pay per call number!

  • I used to be able to click on View to change type size. View is gone from Firefox4. How can I get it back?

    When I downloaded the latest version of Firefox, I was told that it was not compatible with my Yahoo toolbar. I downloaded Firefox4 anyway. As a result I lost View on the toolbar, which allowed me to enlarge the type size of anything I saw on the screen. I very much appreciated that feature and would like to have it back. Is it hiding somewhere? How can I restore it--or find an equivalent function?

    The Menu bar is hidden when the Firefox button is showing. Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, and then hit '''V''' to open the View menu.
