CS 5.5: Problem when Flattening image? Dimension change by 1px ...

Hello,
I created a plus sign (+) and then I rotated it by 45 degrees to become a cross (x).
The cross has 16px by 16px. When I flatten it using "Flatten Selection" the cross becomes 17px by 16px even if it seems the same.
What is wrong? And how can I fix this?

HI! I have problem when I tried to change weblogic listen port from 7001 to 80. When I changed from 7001 to 7777 then all works ok! But why not on 80? With apache all works ok on 80 too.

It does not matter which WLS version I am using (although I'm using 10.3, the one that comes with JDev 11g).
The problem is that SOME OTHER PROCESS on your machine is listening on port 80. Guess you need to go to the Microsoft forums to find out how you can tell what that OTHER, NOT WLS process is.

InDesign CC 2014 very slow performance when dragging images and changing text.
Running on 2010 Macpro 2.4GHz. 8GB RAM. Any solutions? I've read through many forums on this and tried several fixes.

Have exact same issue on my Windows 7 machine. Resetting preferences is a workaround.
So I start InDesign whilst holding down these keys.
Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac)
Whilst inDesign is usable again with this fix- I have to do it every time so it trashes all my preferences so NOT GOOD long term fix. Otherwise InDesign freezes and can only be stopped by forcing a quit.
I have manually deleted the preference files and I have created a brand new admin account - but still no luck - will be onto support tomorrow

Problem when flatten layers

Hi,
I have some problems with flattening layers. I'll show it to you simplified with two layers.You can download the psd-file(22MB) here:http://www.creativ-fotografie.de/files/flatten_layer_prob.psd.
One layer is for a nice and soft vignetting (darkening the corners) in blend mode "vivid light".
The other layer is with lots of blue Ones and Zeros on black background representing a binary code.
When flattening the image, the vignetting disappears partly and I only have a sharp circular shape.
Similar effects happen with different blend modes. It seems to me the effect only appears with complex structures and high resolutions.
I realized the problem, when I was about to save the image as jpeg.
Any ideas?

I just looked at your file in Photoshop CS3 and find the same thing as you...the sharp edges. I tried the workaround that I normally use when this type of thing happens and that didn't work. This made me really curious. I reopened your file as is...layered without touching anything...and changed the view to 100% zoom which is the only true view as all other zooms are approximations. I found at 100% view, the edges of the circle are sharp to begin with...the viginette is an illusion.
BTW, my workaround when things don't flatten or merge correctly is to make a composite layer before flattening the image. To make a composite layer, press ctrl + shift + alt + E keys at the same time if on PC. If on a Mac, change that shortcut to cmd + shift + opt + E.

Refreshment problem when place image.

When I insert image using script then there is a refreshment problem.
In place of second image there place first image.
while if I debug this it place in correct order. But in Run case script not place image in order.
There is a refreshment problem After place First image it not refresh and have first image.
How solve this problem That i place image in proper order in Script Run mode.

My problem is like this :
I want place image in a text box
File(menu)-->place....-->(Dialog open then Select Image file then click on open)->then image is attach with cursor. (I do not click on .indd open screen).

When this script run then it place the image which I am select from File(menu)-->place....-->(Dialog open then Select Image file then click on open).

This is the problem to place image. So there is image duplicasy and some image missing.
Is there is solution of this problem ?
How remove image which is already attach with cursor ?

Audio problem when flattening multicam

To sum up:
When flattening multicam sequences the audio is selected from audio track one, which is not the track with good audio. I have all bad audio muted in the source sequence, so prior to flattening it sounds right. Loading the multicam clip to the source monitor then right click switch camera audio makes no difference. The only way I find to fix this is to move the good audio to track 1. This would be very time consuming as I have a large number of multicam source clips. Any ideas on an efficient fix? Am I missing something?
Here's a long detailed step by step explanation of what I'm doing if you want more information:
I have a series CC2014 sequences (I'll call them "master sequences") composed of many multicam clips. These mulitcam clips were created by Premiere from the project panel. I have a total of 7 of these "master sequences". Within each master sequence, all mulitcam editing is done (camera cuts made within each multicam clip). I selected the proper audio for each mulitcam clip. All good so far. Now I want to flatten the master sequences to simplify the project. For the first 3 sequences I selected all clips/multicam/flatten. Everything worked normally, no problems. For the next 4, when I flatten, the audio source changes in every multicam clip to a bad camera audio track which cannot be used. This bad track is muted in the individual multicam sequences and was not heard prior to flattening. The difference between the sequences that worked right and the ones that didn't is that the order of the cameras on the tracks is reversed. When it worked properly, the camera with the good audio was on video/audio track 1, when it didn't work the camera with the bad audio was on track 1. I understand I can copy and paste the audio from the original sequence but each of my main sequences contains many individual multicam sequences as created by Premiere, so I would have to reveal in project each source multicam sequence, open in timeline, and select the audio to copy and paste. This would be very time consuming.

We tried flattening in the new 8.1 also, what happend there was some audio disappeared and the audio adjustment also disappeared.
This was done on the same machine but with Adobe Premiere 2014.1 8.1.0 (81) build

Audio problems when flattening multicam

Discovered this bug when I tried to flatten a multicam sequence. When I flatten a selection of the multicam the audio seems to “import” the full audio track from the linked multicam sequence, not just the cuts I have made. As a result the audio on both sides of the cuts gets overridden by the “new” audio from the flatten multicam. When I tried to do it manually it seemd like the audio from the flattening stayed in the track. I discovered this when I selected different clips in the track. When I clicked in a presumably empty places in the track it selected the audio from the flatten multicam.
To better describe the problem I screen recorded it.

Preserving Layer Style Appearance When Flattening Image

I'm using Photoshop CS3 on the latest OSX platform with 6 Gigs of ram, and 75 to 100% cashe allocation. I'm working at 400ppi.
When I create a bevel and emboss layer style to make a shape dimensional, then go to flatten the image or merge layers the contour of the shape on the inner part of the bevel gets irregular and a slight white highlight is added. I want the image to look exactly like it does in layers when I flatten or merge it.
I need to send this to a client this afternoon - could you help please? Thanks!

Not sure how Smart Objects would make a difference to this. I can't reproduce this behaviour, on any file at any size. Your images look like a classic case of rendering descrepancies, at view percentages. I'm also not sure they are labelled correctly - looks more like the flattened one is likely to be the correct one.
Do you have OPEN GL on? I've only got one other suggestion - Layer/layerstyle/ Global Light - is somehow being reset by your flattening process?

"The volume for "IMAGE.JPG" cannot be found" problem when importing images

This first started when I hooked up my card reader to my mac. I'd get the above image when I tried to import files off of it. My options are"
- Cancel - Find Photo… - OK -
OK = Nothing. It flashes and stays.
Find Photo = Navigating to the image, (all the others are grayed out except the one it says it can't find)
Cancel = This actually loads the image, but then the next image has the same issue. Forcing a quit seems to be the only way out.
I want to like apple but this stinks and is unusable.

This sometimes occurs if you’re importing a file into iPhoto and there’s already a file there with the same name. Digital cameras can produce many, many files with the same name over their lifetime, so it’s not uncommon to have several files called IMG_00543.JPG, for instance. Now you want to import one also called this.
What happens is that iPhoto compares the two files to check for duplicates. However, if iPhoto cannot find the file already in the database for comparison, then you get this message. It suggests that your database is damaged because iPhoto has lost track of this (or these) similarly named files.
A simple test is to rename the file you are importing - just add a character - IMG_00543a.JPG for instance. If this then imports with no issue then you might consider rebuilding your library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Adjustment layers effects not applying when flattening image or merging layers CS6

So about a week ago I noticed something changed with my adjustment layers. In an image I would make a selection and start using adjustment layers to edit that selection, and then once I was finished, I would merge the adjustment layers together so that I could erase outside areas where the effect was not intended. However, whenever I merged the layers, the effects would go away and the thumbnail preview by the layer title would become blank (gray and white transparent) as if there was not anything on the layer. I messed around and I reset Photoshop, and then I thought the layers were fixed. They were somewhat fixed, except I've started having trouble again. Now I'm having difficulty editing this one image i'm on. It's a portrait with a photoshop-created red mask going around eyes, and I used the dissolve layer effect on the original mask creation which was black at first. Then I selected that selection and made more layers editing the hue, saturation, brightness/contrast, and exposure.
I tried to save the image as a jpeg, and the effects were messed up. The hue and all other adjustment layers seemingly applied, except the dissolve effect does not show up at all. So I tried to fix it manually. I flattened the image first with intention to then save it as a jpeg, but as soon as I flattened the image, again the dissolve effect was not applied. Then I tried to merge the layers, and yet again, the dissolve effect was not showing up. It shows up fine in PSD form, something's wrong with the conversion process. Please don't be mean to me. I'm not great at photoshop, I'm not saying that I am or claiming to be a pro or anything I just want help from people who actually get it. I have CS6 and use a Macbook Pro.

I stopped even trying to read this append. For is seems very complex and overwhelmed my little mind. Please consider including some screen captures showing your Photoshop window with your document that your writing about open and the layer palette shows the structure of the document. For me examples and screen capture of the steps involves involved would be very helpful.

Problem when displaying images when working with PHP, mysql and dreamweaver in a brower

I am new to dynamic development but I already did some
research and tutorials about how to get a dynamic web site working
with PHP and Mysql in Dreamweaver. I set up a test page to view
some content on it directly from the mysql database and it worked
just fine in dreamweaver only when I pressed the
live data view.
When I tried to view the same page using the browser preview
with firefox and internet explorer, plain text from the database
was correctly displayed on the brower but the images were absent.
In the mysql database I used the varchar as my picture data
type field so that I will refer in dreamweaver in the data binding
panel in the img.src to the picture column of my database.
I anyone can tell me what am I doing wrong so that my
pictures are not displayed in the browser when i click the browser
preview facility in dreamweaver I would be very very and very
pleased ! :)

The odds are that it is the way that you have referenced the
images rather
than an issue with the database. If you have the images root
relative like
this "/images" then they will work in preview, and on the
webserver, but
will not view when looking at the file via localhost.
If possible make the links page relative and then they should
work fine.

Noise Ninja Problem when downloading images from Epson P-3000 hard drive

I've just downloaded JPEG images from my Epson P-3000 hard drive and when I try to sharpen the images using Noise Ninja plug-in in Aperture I get the following error message: Editing Error. This image cannot be rendered for editing because Aperture does not support the image format. I don't have any issues using Noise Ninja with other images (using latest Aperture version) and this is the first time i've downloaded images from the Epson rather than my memory card. I'm wondering if the issue is related to the Epson. The metadata of the image in Aperture confirms that the image is a JPEG so I'm not sure what's going on.

Problem when assigning image frame style via EDD

Hi all, it seems this is a bug - or am I missing something?
In the EDD, I use context rules to assign an object style to image elements. In this example, I simply assign "intitle" to all images for convenience.
When I open a DITA file and select an anchored frame, the dialog box tells me that the correct style "intitle" is assigned. However, the frame does not catch it's display setting, which in the example, is "in paragraph, and uses a default setting "below current line" instead.
Only after I select "keep" in the drop down list and then change back to "intitle" and click Apply, the frame applies the correct settings as defined in the object style.
Any ideas?

does the version of quicktime I have on my hard drive (10.0) affect the version of quicktime that final cut exports to or is it just affecting how it's played back outside of the final cut interface?
I just realized when I watch the exported mov file in RealPlayer (10.1.0) that jumbly image stuff doesn't happen, but there are still a few places where it seems like frames are dropped. RealPlayer is actually the only player on my computer that will play the movie in its correct aspect ratio, too.
In order to upload the file to youtube however, I export it to quicktime and then in quicktime do "save for web." When I try uploading the file to youtube without doing that first, the audio/video un-syncs and stuff. But there's no option in realplayer to save for web or to save at all, so i don't know how to get to that step.
if i needed an older version of quicktime, how would i go about that?

Color problems when loading images

I load card from camera (Canon EOS 700D) and they show fine. But when I hit import the colors go bad and take on a greenish tint. If I hit reset in the develop mode the colors go back to normal. It's a windows 7 PC with Lightroom 5. Colors also show fine on camera LCD.

Sounds like you are applying a Preset during Import. Check your Import panel.

Could be a video card problem - no telling. Best just to make an appointment at your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics on it. Could be anything, really. Just one thing - make certain that you have a backup of your data before taking your machine in (if you don't already have a backup scheme in place).
