CS2 silent install won't work

Excuse me for posting this again but I wanted more people to see it..
The issue is that my license for Creative Suite 2.0 is a volume licnese
which means I have one license number for the suite and cannot install
indiviudal programs using the individual msi. I have to us the setup.exe to
install the suite as a whole.
Adobe has a script on their website that they say you can use to install CS2
silently. They will not support it nor will they give any advice on how to
do a network install. They say use the script and that is all we can say.
I can not get the xml script to be based on to the msiexec. I keep getting
the default install screens (pick language, enter serial number, etc).
It seems the only way I can install this using app launcher is to use
snapshot or Adminstudio and do a repacking of the software. It is more
limiting but adobe licensing keeps me from using the individual msi.
Does anyone see another solution?
I have pasted the xml script below to see if anyone can see a problem with
it and why it won't pass the info to the msiexec.exe.

Funny how I can help you based on my experience. I believe you are using
the setup.exe in the root folder. You need to use the setup.exe in the
Createive Suite 2.0 folder. It has the CS leaf icon. Good luck. Let me
know if you have success with the silent install.
When I look at the log file it appears that the setup.exe is looking for
hardware/OS verification but doesn't find it. Yet eventaully it launches
the setup and then I can add all the info.
Do you have a volume license, corporate license, or what? My is a volume
license.

CS4 Design Standard Silent Install does not work

I've concluded CS4 Design Standard silent install for Macs does not work correctly. I've got the program to install sucessfully with an Exit Code: 0 and the programs still do not work. The whole suite says the licensing has stopped working. I've tried the License Repair utility from Adobe, no go. It looks like the program does not fully install. I noticed within each application directory, it should have an Uninstall application when installed correctly. When this application isn't there, which occurs with silent installs, the whole suite doesn't work.
Its funny how Adobe wont help me with "enterprise installations". I haven't tried the Creative Suite Deployment Toolkit but I've read other threads where that doesn't work either.
If someone would like to prove me wrong about the silent installs for CS4, please do so. I've gotten CS3 to install perfectly, and the setup is very similar for both.

Silent install does not work using /S argument

I am trying to perform a silent install of the Flash Player using the EXE. I prefer not to use the MSI. I am trying this command:
install_flash_player_10.exe /s
or
install_flash_player_ax.exe /s
Both commands produce this error:
Invalid argument or invalid use of argument '/s'
Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks!

When we build SMS packages for deployment we also build uninstall packages in the event that we need to rollback. The silet uninstall command for Flash 10.1 is
install_flash_player_10.exe -uninstall
It also seems to remove both the ActiveX and Plugin version if both are installed as in our environment. The uninstall string the registry:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10h_ActiveX.exe -maintain activex
does not work.

Leopard install won't work

I bought the new Nano last week only to discover it wasn't compatible with my system, PowerBook G4, OS X 10.3.9.......I had to upgrade (wish they'd have told me at the Apple store when I bought it).
So I went out today and bought Leopard and tried to install it.......won't work unless I clear the destination disk. Does that mean I have to transfer everything to my external HD and restore my computer first?
Any advise would be much appreciated......but please keep in mind I'm not very tech savvy ; )

Acrobat re install won't work, error 16

Hi,
I have had a few problems with CS6 recently, most of which are now resolved. I think a system update went ahead whilst my CS was open and the result was that ID, DW, AI and Acrobat would not open and I was given a reinstall product window with an error 16 code. I didn't have my disc for a few days and managed to work around the problem with ID, AI and DW, but when I found my disc I thought it would be easy to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat (only programme not working) but having uninstalled the product, the installation from disc won't work!!!
It requests that I sign in to Adobe to complete the installation, then it doesn't work so it requests I contact support - and here I am! I'm going round in circles trying to contact someone for support. Can anyone help please.

HELP!!! CS2 Install won't work!

I am having some trouble getting my CS2 back up and running after a hard drive crash.
I was directed to the download area of the site to download the install files. I started the install, got through disc 1 (great I have photoshop back!) but I cannot get disc 2 to run when prompted. any suggestions. I installed the disc 2 files, figured it would find it automatically when I hit ok. Is it possible that the problem lies in the file discription? I'll show you what I mean:

See an issue there? The discription says Creative Suite CS3. Is this why the disc wont load. I am the Art Director for a national publication and my entire creative suite is down, so this is an obvious emergency. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have another CS3-ish app installed somehow and it messes with the installer database (Acrobat or some such thing...). Uninstall it, delete the caps.db in the caps folder, try again.

Creative Cloud Instal Won't Work

I registered for Creative Cloud this week, and have installed my desired programs onto my laptop.
I now want to put the same onto my desktop which I have only just got access to (this is my primary computer by the way).
Anyway - I am trying to install Creative Cloud here and nothing - clicking on any Download button does nothing, and it's got me stumped as you're entitled to 2 computers per purchase from what I can see.
Both are Macs, both have more than enough grunt etc so am v confused as to why this isn't working.
Please help, I need this set up on both machines asap.

HT1222 Tried to download latest version of itunes. came up with error MSVCR80.dll missing. Tried uninstall and re install. won't work

Tried to download latest i tunes version. After install, I can't bring the program up. Keeps telling me MSVCR80.dll missing. Un installed and then re installed but same message.
Got it done. Uninstalled all apple programs. Did a complete defrag. Downloaded itunes and went to completion.

Satellite L500-19X: Win7 install won't work - stuck on syswow64 loop?

I've tried to reinstall Windows 7 on Satellite L500-19x but it won't complete - every time I boot up laptop a white splash screen appears saying "preparing to install...may take a few minutes" but this never disappears...can get out of this screen by starting task manager and hitting escape a few times.
When get as far as desktop things seem to be in order except for command prompt running Syswow64/sysprep/...access is denied on continuous loop, also there is a window saying "TUPIT 2" which seems to have failed as there is a "requested registry access is not allowed" in front of it.
Would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to fix this as it is extremely frustrating and seems to be so close yet so far to being successfully completed!

This message is very strange. Had read in internet about similar issues but the issues were always related to the registry problems.
In most cases the error message appeared trying to repair the Windows OS.
Did you try to make a clean installation?
I think you should format the HDD firstly before trying to install the Win 7.
Hopefully everything would be erased from HDD before starting the setup installation

Re-install won't work on Cloud/Muse

I had a copy of Muse installed on my laptop, but it looked like it was not the CC version, so I deleted it. Now the cloud is telling me that it is up to date, and it won't let me reinstall. So stubborn. . . . what can I do?

Bootable usb install won't work after 10.9.1

Hi All,
Ive made bootable usb install for many years and never had any issues at all. I made one with Mavericks 10.9.0 and it worked fine. But now I have to make a new one, helping a friend, but to me it seems like it wont work with 10.9.1. Ive used DiskMakerX, also done it manually and with terminal, done it over and over, but it wont actually work. Ive helped alot of people with their macs, made usb install since snow leopard, all fine until now; 10.9.1.
Can someone help me? Have apple done something to the update so we cant make bootable (well it bootes, but cant finnish installing).
Anyone know about a link to the 10.9.0? That worked for me. Ive also used another usb memory in case the one I used caused this issue.
Ive searced the net off course, but not much written about this problem. the update is quite fresh and not many have made bootable with with 10.9.1 I guess.

Yes and I make the usb from mavericks, not from snow leopard. I have no problems booting, but when it prepare for intalling, it stops at "1 sec remaining" and then I get an error message. Before the mavericks update it worked fine. So Ive been looking for the 10.9.0 version, but appstore only have the new version available.
I wondered if my usb was damaged or something so I made install on another usb drive, but same issue happens.

CS design standard download install won't work

Adobe support gave me the link to download DesignStandard CS5 on my mac. I downloaded it and now when I try to install, it give me an error. (Install can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer).

This error is due to MAC security settings "Gatekeeper". You can follow the article: OS X: About Gatekeeper and makes required changes to the setting and try again it will work.

Do you have xcode installed?
Did you ever try to build any Sourceforge projects before this one? I ask that because you don't just "make install" a project. You need to build it first. Generally there's a README file which explains the procedure, configure, make, then make install, but some projects do combine these operations.
Also your shell PATH variable may be set incorrectly and not including /usr/bin where make resides. Since I always install xcode as part of a initial installation I don't remember if make is supplied there or supplied as part of the standard install. But it's immaterial since you aren't going to be able to build Sourceforge projects without xcode because xcode definitely includes the compilers, linkers, etc. needed to do a build.
Finally, IMO, your post probably should have been in the Developer Forums.
Update:
Out of curiousity I downloaded faust-0.9.43 from Sourceforge. It built without any problems. Somewhat of a strange project since it doesn't include the normal configure step. Looking at the makefile I found you can define a DESTDIR to make to override it installing into /usr/local which I didn't want just to test this out. With a configure step you would normally specify a --prefix to configure to accomplish the same thing.

Help pls, install won't work

The main configuration file for FDS is the
/WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml file.
In here is a <security> section that contains a
login-command that is specific to the J2EE application server on
which your FDS web app is being deployed. By default it is
configured for JRun.
If you deploy multiple copies of the web application be sure
that any RTMP channels use unique ports as this technology runs on
a port separate to HTTP.

New Mail install won't work

I replaced my HD in macbook pro. Clone of drive would not start properly so I reinstalled system from orig. disc, then did all installs to the latest OS. Running 10.5.6. Mail will not load any mail, will not show a composed email in the sent file (nor does it deliver it), and will not quit without a force quit. Prefs are all set correctly and Mail Connection Doctor says that it connects to the server properly. If I have to reinstall is it on the apple site or should I do it off the OS disc?

There are several things that could be making it not work. The first thing I'd do is to create a new user log in with that user, and set up one of your email accounts to see if there is a problem with your program, or a problem with the mail setup for your account.
My guess is the latter, but this will at least rule out the former.
Let me know, and I'll try to guide you thru the possibilities...
