CS5.5 Button bug??

In Flash CS5.5 a button inside movieClip 1 triggers a function that:  a) removes movieClip 1 from the display list and b) adds  movieClip 2 to the display list.
movieClip 2 has a button that triggers a function which reverses the first function, putting movieClip 1 back on the list.
But the button inside movieClip 1 is now persisting in its "over" state, even though the pointer is not over the button.
I know this isn't a "feature" and I believe this wasn't a problem before CS5.  Anyone know if this is something Adobe is aware of?  Anyone know a workaround, short of making the the button into a movieClip that behaves like a button?
thanks, c.u.

  • Flash CS5.5 BUG: The input line is too long

I'm developing iOS app and I include huge of file list as Included Files on Air for IOS publisher.
But I found a bug. When I insert more than 73 external files to compile for iOS - Flash return error:
During my investigation works I understand - this error do not affect ADT tool for compiling iOS or Android. When I include many files to project - all this files sends as parameters to external file adt.jar.
But flash can't send huge amout of parameters.
I googled this issue and found - any other app can have this bug looking on wrong parameters sending options.
Please not - this is only Flash CS5.5 bug, not ADT. How I understand this? I can use command line for compiling with all this parameters and command line compile succesful.

I know that. But it's sometime provide new bug - folder added and it's present in IPA file. But when Install on device - it's not availbe on device anymore. Why this I don't know. 50\50

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 Bugs

We've encountered some bugs in what is otherwise a great application and a great job by Adobe. We would, like to start a public discussion to see if anyone else has been able to reproduce any of the issues. Recently, we put a new production machine to work in the office and since it is a clean machine, with a fresh install of only Dreamweaver CS5.5, the issues would seem to be reproducible - rather than restricted to a specific machine or configuration. So here is the first test page:
    http://www.projectseven.com/testing/cs5.5-bugs/
There are other bugs we'd like to test, but let's focus on a few for now.
    Happy Hunting :-)

My specs before I go into answers:
    Apple Macbook Pro
    Mac OSX 10.6.8
    2.8 Ghz Core 2 Duo
    4GB Ram
    GeForce 9600M GT/9400M
Touchpad + Logitech V400 wireless mouse
    1.  Didn't have time to test this one yet but I will later.
    2.  I haven't noticed anything too bad since I switched my web host and am now using FTPS (FTP over SSL Explicit).  But on regular FTP I used to see that all the time.  Although the whole FTP part of DW should be rebuilt it is behind even free solutions available in both features and speed and there is no need for it.
    3.  The "li" bug - Reproducible.  My only question here is if the user stays in Design View what would generate a new bullet?  Tab?
Loss of Text Cursor - I'm unable to reproduce this one.  Only time I lose the cursor is on darker backgrounds where it blends in more.
To your comments on Design View in general I agree 100%.  They made Live View to show how the page will render and the example I like to point to is their own Spry code.  The 1.0 code would render in Design View whereas the new 2.0 (Spry UI) code will only render in Live View and show up as a list in Design View.  With the way DW and the web are going, Design View might as well be deprecated.  And I do agree that the Live View builds could be updated.  Small updates on a regular basis with the webkit updates would be nice here.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed about Lion.  No word on Adobe's website and unofficial ones have found nothing wrong with DW so far, although not all Adobe CS programs have been so lucky.

  • DW CS5 "Get" bug in expanded site files view

    Hi,
I just installed the CS5 Design Premium trial and have been playing with Dreamweaver. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the following issue...
When in expanded site files view (showing both local and remote), selecting a file on the REMOTE site and trying to "Get" the file does not download the remote file. It instead tries to retrieve the remote copy of the file(s) selected in the LOCAL file list pane.
If no file is selected on the local file list, pressing "Get" after selecting a REMOTE file from the list brings up the "Are you sure you wish to get the entire site" dialog.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open expanded site files view (local and remote)
    2. Click on a file in the remote file list. For testing purposes, click on a file in the LOCAL list first, then select a remote file
    3. Click the Get button or right click on the remote file and choose Get.
DW should download the selected REMOTE file if that was the last selected file prior to executing the Get command. (this is the action that DW CS3/CS4 does)
I have submitted this bug in the official Adobe bug reporting system, but I'm curious as to whether others can reproduce this bug.
    Thanks

@Murray, I think I have discovered exactly where the bug lies and how you may be able to reproduce it yourself...
@quantumlight - do you happen to have your Site Files panel UNDOCKED and in its own floating panel??
I work with Dreamweaver on a dual/multi monitor setup. I have my split design/code view on one screen, and the site files and code inspector on a DETACHED Files panel on the 2nd monitor.
I did a full DW prefences reset and everything went back to the factory setting, with the Files panel docked to the right hand side of the DW program window. With it docked, I opened the expanded/split site files view and IT WORKED NORMALLY as is expected.
However, as soon as I UNDOCKED the Files panel into its own floating panel and expanded the file view, the bug appeared and selecting a REMOTE FILE and pressing Get, asked to either download a copy of the selected LOCAL file, or if no local file is selected it asks "Are you sure you want to get the entire site"
Redocking the Files panel back to its original position makes the bug disappear.
I have tested this on two Windows 7 machines and one Mac Snow Leopard machine, both with the CS5 11.0.2 updates installed.
It seems it's a Windows version only bug as both Win7 machines produced the bug, with the Mac machine NOT presenting the bug in either docked or floating panel state.
Hopefully the Adobe DW guys see this soon and can work on fixing this bug in the next update.
Do you think i should re-submit my previous bug report with this updated discovery?

  • Master Pages and Buttons - Bug and Fix Request

I think I'm the only person in the world who has encountered this bug, and I've filled out the bug report form on the Adobe site twice in a couple of years.
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered it, and I'm curious to know if it still exists in Creative Cloud (I'm still using CS6).  However, I think this bug appeared in CS5.5, prior to that, results were as one would expect.
    So here's the gist of it . . .
Prior versions of InDesign allowed you to put a button on a Master Page, then upon export to PDF the page number would be appended to the button name. CS6 appends random numbers to the button names on export.  (It seems the number appended to the button names is the instance count of the button in question.)  This problem becomes incrementally worse if you use different combinations of master pages, some with buttons and some without.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
Create a button, named "menubutton" and add it to a master page
Apply that master page to 10 pages.
Export the ID file to PDF enabling buttons and interactive elements.
Check the button names in the PDF from Acrobat
    Results:
In CS6, this now appends the page number, and an arbitrary number to the button name.  CS6 results are like such: "menubutton.Page 1", "menubutton.Page 21", "menubutton.Page 32", "menubutton.Page 43", etc.
    Expected results:
The button names should become "menubutton.Page 1", "menubutton.Page 2", "menubutton.Page 2" , etc. (As in prior ID versions)
The problem becomes a lot worse when you use combinations of master pages . . . for example:
Master A – contains one button – menubutton
Master B – contains one button – otherbutton
Apply those masters to alternating pages, like below and export to PDF, this will be the crazy result:
    Page 1 (A)        “menubutton.Page 1”
    Page 2 (B)        “otherbutton.Page 2”
    Page 3 (A)        “menubutton.Page 31”
    Page 4 (B)        “otherbutton.Page 41”
    Page 5 (A)        “menubutton.Page 52”
    Page 6 (B)        “otherbutton.Page 62”
    Page 7 (A)        “menubutton.Page 73”
    Page 8 (B)        “otherbutton.Page 83”
So, can anyone else attest to this?  It makes scripting buttons incredibly hard!

    Hi johnjohn123,
    1. I would definitely make a copy of the EnterpriseWiki.aspx page layout and make changes to that. You can then set your pages to use your custom page layout. Typically, I provision these via Visual Studio and a module for uploading them to the SharePoint
    master page gallery.
    2. For the master page, the html version is new to 2013 and is meant to simplify branding, however, it's not required. You can still work within master pages and provision those via features if you'd like. The key is to create your own master page and never
    modify the default.
If you need code samples for any of the above, let me know and I can supply it.

  • Frustrating Mute/Solo button bug?!!!

I have the most frustrating problem and i'm reaching my boiling point!!!
I'm trying to sync audio (by hand, because sadly the new 'audio-sync feature' doesn't work right 90% of time).  I hit "mute" on one track and try to go one frame back/forward with the keyboard arrow keys to find my exact sync point, yet as soon as i click the arrow key either way, the Mute/Solo buttons toogle themselves back on/off.
To be clearer: I mute track 1 and unmute track 2.  Then i press the arrow key on the keyboard to move one frame and as soon as I press that key, track 1 unmutes and track 2 mutes.
this doesn't happen always, but certainly happens most of the time i try to sync stuff.  I'm as frustrated as I can be and can't believe I haven't seen anyone else online mention this issue.  Is this some dumb new feature in premiere and if so please please tell me how to turn it off, and if it's a bug - is there any fix for it?
If I hadn't already spent 2 weeks building this massive project (it's a big feature film), i'd go back to Premiere CS6, but now i don't want to have to re-organize everything again...
    Please help!

There is a different mute/solo bug which only rears it's head after reopening a project.  You're the first I've seen report something similar while still working.
You could try trashing preferences, and if that doesn't work, you may want to consider a reinstall.

  • Flash CS5 Button Help

To start, I'm a total newbie in Flash, so I'm sorry if what I'm asking is ridiculously primitive, but I was literally thrown into this blindfolded and I'm using google and several forums to help me out.
What I'm doing:  redesigning a website.  At the moment, the website has a flash file that introduces it's logo and subcategories of its' website on the top of the page.  What I wanted to do was make sure there was a hyperlink on the logo that would bring anyone back to the homepage, very basic stuff.  The issue I have run into is that the logo is actually a flash movie.  Different parts of the logo appear at different times, and I think this is what is specifically causing me issues.
The logo that I want to hyperlink has several layers, and what I've done so far is select them all and create a button (F8, select 'Button' and rename it).  When I did that, I noticed the layers significantly changed and when I tested the movie, it looks terrible, choppy and not how it originally looked.
I know the step after that is to go into behaviors and insert the url to which I want it to be hyperlinked.  The only thing is that I don't want to show a terrible flash movie to my boss even if it's hyperlinked to the homepage.
Anyone understand all that gibberish I wrote down?  Or does anyone see a flaw in what I'm doing?  I'm not 100% positive if the steps I'm taking are correct, I've been to several different sites, all of which tell me to do different things.
Initially I tried coding it with ActionScript, but I was having terrible issues with that as well.
If it helps, the file I'm working on was altered a while back.  Could it be that the file is not compatible or proper for Flash CS5?
    Help!!!

    ... how do I give that shape/button a url?
Since it is a button, it is already a self animating object that will react to mouse interactions, but only visually at this stage.  The first thing you need to do to make it useful code-wise is to assign it a unique instance name.  So you drag a copy of it out to the stage from the library, and while it's still selected, you enter that unique instance name for it in the Properties panel... let's say you name it "btn1"
In AS3, to make a button work with code, you need to add an event listener and event handler function for it.  You might need to add a few (for different events, like rollover, rollout, clicking it, but for now we'll just say you want to be able to click it to get a web page to open.  In the timeline that holds that button, in a separate actions layer that you create, in a frame numbered the same as where that button exists, you would add the event listener:
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btn1Click);
The name of the unique function for processing the clicking of that button is specified at the end of the event listener assignment, so now you just have to write that function out:
    function btn1Click(evt:MouseEvent):void {
       var url:String = "http://www.awebsite.com/awebpage.html";
       var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
       navigateToURL(req);
... how do I know it's properly placed on the correct area?
What area?  If you place it where you want it, that should be correct. (?)
... how do I make sure it's invisible...?
If you can't see it when you test the file and you know it's there and your cursor turns into  a hand when you are over where it should be, it's invisible.
...how do I see the other objects in the flash file I'm working on?
Select Edit -> Edit Document to get out of the symbol editing mode and back to the file editing mode.  If you doubleclick an object on the stage, rather than clickingit in the library, you open it up in editing mode on the stage, but the stage and everything else will still be visible behind it in a faded tone.

  • ID CS3 : the 101 buttons bug - PDF file turning into a form

    Hi there,
I'm just mentionning this issue with a clear title (I had mentioned it in another thread but with a wrong topic name, since I hadn't found out the bug).
When working in inDesign CS3, there's a slight but annoying issue with interactive PDF buttons. As soon as your file reaches 101 buttons, the PDF document exported is considered as a form instead of a standard document (no matter if the buttons are present on the master pages, on the same pages or through the document).
I've managed to find a workaround myself, and I found another one on these forums, but no real solution. Here they are:
    Workaround #1 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/2177707#2177707) :
Instead of creating my controls in the master page (which caused the file to have more than 100 buttons), I created them (only once) in the first page they appeared in. Then, in Acrobat Pro, I just selected them and used the "duplicate" command.
There are two benefits when using this solution:
your PDF document won't turn into a form (which can be a real problem if you don't want to confuse the document users).
your PDF file will be lighter. Indeed, when creating a button in inDesign (even if you create it on the master page) the exported PDF document won't contain X occurences of the same button, but X different buttons (which can incread the size of your document dramaticaly when it reaches a large amount of pages).
Yet, if your document reaches 101 buttons on the solemn content, the bug will trigger anyway.
    Workaround #2 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/1322652#1322652) :
After having exported your PDF file, lock it against editing (through the password protection system). Your document will still be considered as a form, but the annoying purple box won't pop any longer when you open the file.
This solution is quite simpler, but it still is a workaround to the issue, not a solution.
Well, I hope those workarounds will help someone, but if someone had a *real* solution to it, that would be great.

Thanx! For me — prototyping — to block editing with password is enough (for now).

  • Illustrator CS5 rendering Bug?

    Hi All,
This is my first post in this forum.
Recently I found this shared PDF rendering bug
by both Adobe products: Illustrator CS5 and
    Adobe Reader X.
    Look at the attached images.
    Although these screenshots are from
Adobe Reader X and Nitro PDF Reader,
these shows exactly the rendering differences
    between Illustrator Cs5 and Cs4.
The same PDF file opened fine in Illustrator CS4
and 8 different PDF viewers. It does not shows
these square clipping boxes around the words
    "La Tormenta".
Why Adobe changed the way its products interpret
    pdf files?

  • CS5 UI bug under "windows classic" theme

I've noticed this on CS4 as well, but hoped it was fixed under CS5 - turns out not: the photoshop CS5 user interface seems to not understand the concept of "different themes" under windows vista/server 2008 when using the classic windows theme. It will try desperately to hide the fact that it's actually skinning a normal window, and so I get a lot of malrender lines, and two sets of min/max/close buttons in the upper right (the "real window" ones, and the skinned photoshop ones).
    Screenshot:
    http://pomax.nihongoresources.com/downloads/CS5-UI-messup.jpg

Could be, but unless you're part of the programming team responsible for the UI and know exactly why it's doing what it's doing, I would pitch in that even if MS doesn't seem to get around to fixing it, that never prevents a good dev team from working around the problem.
It would be relatively simple to add a setting to the program which, when the user selects it in the UI preferences, forces a secondary UI redraw every time dialogs are popped up or removed. This might "slow down" things, but blitting a small part of the screen from buffer is probably one of the least expensive operations when it comes to what Photoshop—and presumably all the other applications—routinely does (if they weren't, 30FPS full screen software decoded video would not exist =)
Of course I should point out the immense importance of the "if the user selects it" bit there, since Adobe has a long history of going with something different without offering the user a way to say "no, I prefer it the way it worked before". There was nothing wrong with the UI experience on windows up to CS4, so the switchover to a skinned UI that couldn't be told to not actually skin was rather annoying. I had hoped the CS5 team would revert that change so that Photoshop would, to quote John Nack, "[...] do the Right Thing automatically, as its default behavior". A bit disappointed that didn't happen, so we'll have to see whether all the new functionality can weigh up to a constantly corrupting UI.
Corrupting in a relatively irrelevant part of the screen, sure, and it doesn't impair functionality either, but damn is it annoying to look at =)

  • Flash 8 Button Bug

I've run into what appears to be a bug in Flash 8. I'm using
Flash 8 Professional. I have an FLA containing buttons. Each button
contains two layers. The first layer is text. The second layer is a
line that acts as an "underline" for the text. When I export this
SWF in Flash 7, the underline is there as expected. But when I
choose Flash 8, the underline disappears. I can't get it to
re-appear, even after deleting and re-creating the new button.
    Thoughts?

  • Strange CS5 printing bug (reds pumped)

    Windows 7 64-bit, CS5 64-bit 12.04, Canon Pro9000 MkII.
Many/most files go back to CS4. I just started printing on CS5. I have a way to work around the bug, but maybe someone from Adobe will see this and duplicate and fix whatever the issue is. I can provide file(s) to duplicate.
I have noticed that CS5 remembers my printer driver settings application wide. I also notice that CS5 saves print settings in each PSD file. This may be contributing to the problem.
I open a file. 16-bit Prophoto PSD file.
    I open the print dialog.
The dialog is defaulted to printer color management.
Open the printer settings. Check the settings. The driver settings are correct. Paper, quality, no color management. Click ok.
Now the dialog changes to photoshop manages colors and the profile selected is some generic canon bubble jet profile.
I select the correct profile. A red river paper profile in this case.
    Print.
Bad print. The colors with some amount of red in them has the red channel pumped up. Many colors are okay.
Start with a new file (one not worked around).
Open file, change print settings. Close and save file. Open file. Print. Bad Print.
    Now the work around.
Start with a new file (one not worked around).
Open file, change print settings. Close and save file. Close photoshop. Open photoshop. Open file. Print. Good Print.
So it seems that my file(s) have some sort of saved print info that is confusing CS5 that persists until the file is saved with current settings and CS5 is closed. I never printed before on this installation so I have no idea what print info could be in the file. I did have a different Canon printer previously installed on this machine but never printed or opened the print dialog in photoshop. Photoshop probably noticed the "default" installed printer even though I never used it.
It is rather annoying to open a file, change print info, close file and photoshop and then reopen for all my files I want to print just to get around this.
    -Norman

Have you gone into the "Print Settings" dialog and turned off color matching in the Epson portion of the settings?
Are you running the most recent version of the driver? There is a combination updater to version 7.0 available as the first result at:

  • Encore CS5 Buttons Not Showing Up?

I built a six chapter project in Encore CS5. On the main menu (there are no submenus), there are six buttons that are correctly linked to six different timelines. In the menu view, everything looks normal. However, when I click to Preview mode, I get the background image and the music to play, but not buttons appear. I am burning a copy now to see if it is just a Preview mistake, but I'm guessing my DVD will look the same. Any idea what causes this?

Edit:  How odd to reply just as you posted your success!  Was this bluray?
    My response, now moot, was:
Open the menu in Photoshop and confirm that no full frame images are above the buttons in the layer order.
What version of encore and what OS?

  • [Flash CS5.5] bug movieclips dont show/Really Slow on High Quality Textures

I have been using flash cs5.5 for a while now , and I start this project 3-4 days ago. Ever since I started to add in high texture in it, The program Freezes alot.
I export my project as a swf and theres no lag at all in it.(thanks to Render:Cache as Bitmap)
A bug happen when ALL the MovieClips/images/bitmaps No longer can be seen but u can click on it.
    As u can see.
The visible is check in too.
All I was doing is moving the movieclips/images/bitmaps(high detail 2000x1000 big) around and this happen.
Also the program gets crazy laggy when high details are added. Then again , I export my project as a swf and theres no lag on the swf, full fps.
    if this helps
    intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20 GBHz
    3.19 GHz , 2.00 GB of RAM
After Reloading the hole file, everything is back to normal , but it still does this bug and its really slow. I cant Continue my project because of this bug.
Flash barely use my ram or cpu.
    Help?

Not for nothing but P4 single core CPUs are outdated by about 6 years. From your graphic I can see you're not using a version of flash in your era.
That doesn't excuse freezing but your CPU in this day and age is basically a solar powered calculator. Most people have an ancient dual core 2+GHz system with 2-8GB ram. You're excessively behind the CPU curve. With that CPU you're running DDR400 on top of it.
We're at DDR3 now (PC12xxx depending on your wallet).
Please don't take this wrong but "high res" and "Pentium 4" should not be in the same sentence. I'm fairly sure you cannot even play 720p HD video let alone 1080p HD video on that processor with windows (maybe linux). How do you expect flash to react being much more complex?
Your best option is to lighten the load on that old rig. Disable any antivirus software or anything else running to give your updated flash the best possible chance to run well given your computers limitations. Efficiency being king, sometimes people thing 3ghz = 3ghz. It doesn't. A 3ghz modern CPU will blow away your old 3ghz computer. This is not apples to apples.

  • Fireworks CS5 buttons don't export into Dreamweaver S5 correctly

I'm very new to fireworks, I've created a design layout in Fireworks CS5 which I've sliced up but when I export the design to Dreamweaver CS5 HTML, the buttons which I've created in Fireworks lose their functionality apart form seeing them as a link,. On the Dreamweaver side I insert Fireworks HTML into a div tag. Its probaly something very simple (hopefully) that I'm missing, any help?

    Any pointers??  Please advise.  Thanks.
Yes.  Don't allow Fireworks or any graphics editor to create HTML for you.  Use Graphics apps for Images ONLY. Save images to your DW Local Site folder.  Use DW to build your HTML code, rollovers and menus.
