CS6 paths behavior changed

CS6 Pen tool, clicking and dragging on an existing path should not change the angle on the adjacent radius handles. It should only dynamically adjust the length of the existing radius handles, based on which direction you drag. It should only affect that one segment and not affect the bordering angles. I've been pathing with Adobe products for 25 years and this should not change now. I want to be able to fine tune ONE line segment with out affecting its neighboring segments. The "new" behavior should only occur with a modifier. If the Mothership deems this is the only way to do this moving forward, at LEAST give your long-standing customers a modifier, such as the shift key to enable us to keep working as we have been for decades.

Im very happy with alla that adobe has don with this version, but not only that has changed. Lets say that im drawing a path with the pen tool and I get it wrong putting the last segnment and
and press Ctrl+Z to Undo, the path breaks and you have to go back and click on the last point again to keep drawing.....Thats getting me nuts, its frustrating...!!!! Please tell me thats a bug or that
is an option that can be changed...!!!
Another thing that im experimenting is that the intuos3 in illustrator 6 the selection even with the double click on the side of the pencil is getting stuck for a brief moment when i stop pressing the pen in the tablet surface.

  • InDesign Links / Path Name change on Mac

We have 5 Mac users on a windows domain using Adobe CC.  They are placing images in to files as links. They are continually getting the "This document contains a link to a source..." error.  The one commong thing I can find is that when looking at the path name in the links pane that it changes from user to user.
User one inserts link from a network drive that is properly mapped. Path shows (example) /Shared/Communications/Logos/Image1.jpg
User two or three opens the same indesign file and gets the link source error.  Path shows /Volumes/Shared-1/Communications/Logos/Image1.jpg
This was not happening in prior versions of InDesign. While I can't rule out a network or user issue, it's odd that the path name changes.  I checked the /Volumes/ folder and no duplicate names of the drives exist.  I have no idea why the path name is being modified when another user opens the file.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You should package you InDesign document. Use the packeged document. New files linked later after packagen copy to the Link folder, you can do it from the link panel with the command Copy links to, in German it is in a sub menu of Hilgfsprogramme, should be something like Help Programs, I don't know the exactly naming of that menu in the US version.

  • Evaluation Path Results change after ECC6 Upgrade

    Hi All,
We have upgraded to ECC6 up to and including our QA environment. We are running an old java version of the MSS team viewer. We have a custom evaluation path, a modified version of SAP_MANG (Z_MANG) that we have been using for years. After upgrade any view that involves an organization is showing duplicates...
    Example of output
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
Our Z_MANG Evaluation Path looks like this...
No     Obj. Typ.     A/B     Relat     Relat Name      Priority     Relat Obj Typ     Skip
    10      *                 B         008       Holder              *               S                        X
    20      S                A         012       Manages...      *               O
    21      S                A         Z01      Salary Budg     *               *
    22      S                A         Z02      HR Manages    *               *
    30      US             A          208      Is Identical to    *               *                         X
Only when we skip No 21 Salary Budg is the problem resolved. Has anyone run into problems after upgrade to ECC60 that the results for an exting evaluation path have changed like this?
    Thanks,
    Doug

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database.  some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.
Are you sure all the users you are testing with have a proper sy-uname setup for all respective pernrs in PA0105?

  • New window behavior change FF 29.0.1

New window behavior changed with FF 29.0.1. I have a custom page that I built that has a bunch of links to sites/pages that I visit frequently. Every one of the links on that page begins with <a target="_blank" href=" >
I typically keep this page maximized and until FF 29.0.1, when I clicked one of those links, it opened in a new maximized window. If I had the page restored instead of maximized, when I clicked one of those links it opened in a new restored window. In other words, the new window was opened in the same window state as the page from which I clicked the link. Now, when I click a link on a maximized window, it opens in restored view and I have to manually maximize it. It's a pain in the patoot.
I'd like to know how to change FF to return to the previous behavior and also why someone felt it was necessary to change this behavior.

  • Shadow Behavior Changed after Pro Update

I have a finished 3D animation that was done just before the update.
It consists of a person standing on top of (perpendicular to) a flat plane. A stationary spotlight is casting a shadow of the person onto the plane as the camera is animated rotating 90 degrees around the front of the comp. I have about 12 of these comps with different people for the duration of the animation
Prior to the update the shadow's behavior was unchanging throughout the animation for every comp. Now, after the update the shadow seems to blur/fade in for the 1st 45 degrees of the animation for some. For others it stays blurry/faded for the whole animation.
What gives?! Is anybody else having issues with casted shadows in 3D comps?

    Thanks everyone for your input.
I have finally been able to fix the problem, but I have no explanation of why it happened to begin with. After trying all of your suggestions for replacing cameras and lights I wound up checking my original comps lights settings.
I had set the shadow softness to '20". For some reason Motion was interpreting this differently between updates. Going back to the original comp and setting the shadow softness to "0" brought everything back in line to it original behavior (i.e. no behavior change on animation).
While I'm glad to have solved the problem I believe that this is a bug in the software that needs to be addressed.
    Thanks again guys!

  • BI 7 real-time cube load behavior changed after transport

    Dears,
After I transported real-time cube from DEV to QA system, I found that all the real-time cube load behavior changed from 'can be loaded, planning not allowed' to 'can be planned, load not allowed'. What happened? Or I'm enpackaging this type cube with wrong step? Any suggestions are appreciated.

While using my iPhone the system behavior changed where I now have to click on the app to select it, then double click to launch it. Same goes for entering in my password to access the phone and entering digits to make a phone. I am also having trouble swiping the screen to move to the next page. This is no longer working. I did not change any settings, the phone just started behaving this way. Any ideas on how to revert back to the single click selection/launch? Any assistant is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Photoshop CS6 how to change new behavior of line tool?

After upgrade to CS6 the line tool behaves differently  than I was used to. Now it´s doing something like auto-align. I don´t know how to describe it exactly, but when I´m trying to do lines in small angle it´s impossible, because the tool is always "jumping" to do completely straight lines.
Is it a feature in CS6, bug, or it´s happening only to me?

If you go to Photoshop (Edit)>Preferences>General and uncheck Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid, does that
    make a difference?

  • Illustrator CS6 path selection color

I'm familiar with older versions of Illustrator, but kinda new to CS6. Double-clicking a path in the Layers palette
used to offer the option to change the color of that path. Is this option still around somewhere?
    Thanks.

Got it. Thanks! I guess it's been a while since I've used this Illustrator.

  • Photoshop CS6 path curve issue

Prior to Photoshop CS6, a curve on a path could be moved using the Direct Selection Tool without altering the path beyond the two enclosing points. If you manipulated the curve, only the inside handles of the two points (that create the curve) would change - and only in length - as shown below:
Unfortunately, in Photoshop CS6, if you manipulate the path curve with the Direct Selection Tool, the handles both sides of the points move freely - affecting the path beyond those points:
    - Please, is there a way to revert to the prior behaviour? The Photoshop CS6 behaviour may seem more intuitive (or something), but it's less precise and alter parts of the path that are fine already.

    Thank-you very much for this!
I only ever use the Direct Selection Tool by holding down command whilst using Pen Tool - and Pen Tool itself does not show that option! Solved - thanks.

  • Word 2010 Network Path Hyperlinks change to Local C Drive

    Hi,
I am having issues with Microsoft Word documents that have links in it to other documents. I'm not sure why but these hyperlinks change from their UNC path to a C path. For example
    \\server\folder\document.pdf
    would change to
    C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\folder\document.pdf
This happens to all links on that document. We have hundreds of documents and finding that they are doing this randomly which means all links need to be created again. We did not have this issue using Word 2003, or Word 2007. This has happened since upgrading
to 2010 a few months ago.
All the documents have been created years ago in Word 2003.
I have looked everywhere and realize there are other topics similar however no answer has been found.
    Hopefully someone can help

    Hi Dave,
This behavior is because that the link by default is saved as
Relative Link, with relative link used, we are able to move the documents to wherever we need, and still keep the link works. As the disadvantageous, the link will no longer work if we actually need the link to be an absolut link.
This especially happens when the linked document is saved in the same folder.
To avoid such issue, we need to modify the following setting to use absolute link instead of relative links.
To do this, use the following method.
On the File menu, click Options.
    Click Advanced.
    Under General, click Web Options.
    Click the Files tab.
Click to clear the Update links on save check box.
    Click OK two times.
For enterprise environment, we can modify the setting for multiple machines using group policy:
Microsoft Office 2010 --> Tools |Options | General | Web Options... --> Files  --> Update links on save

  • Gnumake has broken PATH behavior in xcode 3.2; are others seeing this?

It appears that the handling of the PATH variable is now broken in Xcode 3.2 with Snow Leopard.
As long as SHELL is still set to the default of /bin/sh, simple commands seem to now be handled differently (perhaps via a built-in optimization?) and only the pre-existing environment PATH to gnumake is used, instead of the PATH variable. This results in inconsistent behavior, where printing $PATH from the shell shows the correct path, and "which" can locate an executable, but when you try to run it, it says it can't be found.
The following Makefile demonstrates this, if you run "make test1" with the new make.
It fails, but should succeed. Meanwhile "make test2" and "make test3" succeed.
Note that if you change SHELL to something other than /bin/sh, it will work for test1,
even if what it points to is just a copy of /bin/sh named something else.
Is anyone else seeing this happen? It's odd, since the gnu version of make is the same for Xcode 3.1 and 3.2, so Apple must be making some other optimizations that affect it.
Here's the Makefile to show this:
(unfortunately, the tabs don't seem to be coming through, so you'll need to re-indent this
    properly as a Makefile)
    PATH := mybin:$(PATH)
    export MAKE
    test1: mybin/testprogram
    echo SHELL=$(SHELL)
    echo PATH=$(PATH)
    which testprogram
    testprogram
    test2: mybin/testprogram
    echo SHELL=$(SHELL)
    echo PATH=$(PATH)
    which testprogram
    echo; testprogram
    test3: mybin/testprogram
    echo SHELL=$(SHELL)
    echo PATH=$(PATH)
    which testprogram
    a=0 testprogram
    mybin/testprogram:
    mkdir -p mybin
    echo "#!/bin/sh" > $@
    echo 'echo "($$MAKE) has run $$0"' >> $@
    chmod +x $@

I misquoted some details. At the time the incident occurred my Remote Desktop Administrator was the only ARD admin configured to use the task server where the data was lost from. The other 4 where not yet configured.
(the old server we are retiring (with it's own separate license had the other Remote Desktop Administrators reporting to it)
I have started switching other Administrators over to the server in question and have not seen any more systems disappear from the sqlite3 database.
I also updated our old task server to 3.3.1 on Friday and over the weekend it maintained all the data. Even for a system that has not reported any new data since September of 2006.

  • DB- get() behavior change as of 4.5.20

I wanted to post information we have recently learned about new behavior in DB->get(), which is undocumented from what I can tell. This change caused a threading bug in our code when we upgraded from 4.2.52. It also affects DBCursor->get(DB_SET) to a lesser extent.
Traditionally, DB->get() on a btree produces data, but does not produce a key, since the key passed in is used for exact match. A change was made in 4.5.20 which causes DB->get() to produce a key if a custom comparator function has been specified (set_bt_compare). The comments in the code (in the cursor get function, __db_c_get) indicate this change was made under the assumption that the compare function may be "magic" and the key passed in may not be the same as the key in the database (except in the eyes of the compare function), so the actual database key is now returned.
Unfortunately, under the assumption that DB->get() treats the key as read-only, we were using a key DBT whose "flags" were zero. The BDB code tries hard to ensure that when a DB is threaded (opened with DB_THREAD) all DBTs which will be written (key or data) have some memory management flag set (DB_DBT_USERMEM, DB_DBT_REALLOC, etc.). Otherwise, BDB will use an internal buffer associated with the (shared) DB handle, causing threading problems. However, in the case of this new behavior, the flag checking was not augmented to account for this case. Instead, the flag checking code still believes a key will only be written if the get() is called with DB_SET_RECNO, DB_CONSUME or DB_CONSUME_WAIT, which are the only cases documented to modify the key DBT.
To summarize, we have an undocumented change in behavior, combined with a lack of correspondingly expanded flag safety checks, setting up for threading problems of various sorts.
The simple workaround is to always set the DBT up as DB_DBT_USERMEM, though in this case the key DBT will still be written, perhaps unexpectedly. If the key's buffer was in read-only memory, this would cause an access violation instead of a threading problem.
Though this change was obviously intentional, I have some trouble understanding how one gets a key into BDB which is different than the key what will be used for retrieval (the use case this change seems to be addressing). But I imagine there was a specific instance of such a situation from some user. Perhaps an additional flag or setting on the DB to control this behavior, letting the user pro-actively indicate the found key should be returned, would reduce unnecessary key copying, as well as avoiding potential bugs. I have to imagine most custom compare functions are for custom sort order, not for performing a magic transformation between the key in the search and the key in the database, and the key used in get is actually identical to the key found in the database.

Bumping this. Perhaps I wasn't clear. The documentation cited by Sandra does explain that sometimes people use comparison functions that will match on a partial key. But it also specifically says:
"When partial keys are specified to Berkeley DB, interfaces which retrieve data items based on a user-specified key (for example, DB->get and DBcursor->get with the DB_SET flag), will not modify the user-specified key by returning the actual key stored in the database."
The part about "will not modify the user-specified key" is the issue. As of 4.5.20, BDB will modify the user-specified key, even if the user-specified key is identical to the stored key. Since it is actually counter to the cited documentation, you can understand that it would be unexpected. The side-effects and results are described in my original posting.
Since Sandra has found documentation that contradicts the current behavior, I would now consider this new behavior a bug. Such a change really needs to be introduced in a backward compatible way, such as through the use of new flags on the DB handle.

  • Switch Linked (xl source) Tables - behavior change Excel 2010 PP vs. Excel 2013 PP -- In 2013 all calcs of table are lost

    Situation:
PowerPivot 2010 Model based on 10 linked tables (this tables are generated and refreshed as needed by SQL 2012 MDS Excel-AddIn)
Unfortunately Excel MDS AddIn changes sometimes the tablename (case: MDS Add-In Filter changed, MDS Server changed). So after Change of tablename we have to fix the powerpivot link to this Excel tables in powerpivot to get powerpivot refresh working again
    Problem:
With Excel 2010 PowerPivot this was possible without big Problems. As Long as table has identical structure one can Change/Switch the table in powerpivot Windows > Ribbon "Linked" Table > DropDown "Linked Table X" or during update
via Dialog "Errors in Linked Table"
After upgrading the solution to Excel 2013 this is not possible any more without loosing any column- or measure calcs defined for this table! :( Every time you Change the assigned Excel table for an existing linked powerpivot table..you
    get following Dialog:
"You are changing the source of X to Excel table Y. Changing the source will remove all formatting, measures, KPIs, hierarchies, and other Settings applied to the table. Are you sure you want to to continute?"
Does anyone found a Workaround for persisting existing calc of linked tables when changing the sourcetable (to another Excel table with same structure)??
Dear MS, this is IMHO really a step backwards and blocks the migration of our existing Excel 2010 PowerPivot Solution? Should i create a connect entry for that?!
    Version-Info:
    2010 Version: 11.0.3000.0 (PP Ribbon>Settings)
    2013 Version: 11.0.2809.81 (Product version displayed for dll c:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Addins\PowerPivot excel Add-In\PowerPivotExcelClientAddIn.dll)

There is a very similar issue discussed here where i tried to show the different behavior in terms of linked tables in Excel/PowerPivot 2010 vs 2013
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8fd927f7-30fd-49b7-809c-cb1414955638/linked-tables-excel-2013-vs-2010-difference?forum=sqlkjpowerpivotforexcel
maybe it helps you to understand the issue
I assume that MDS creates a new table every time you refresh it thereby breaking the link to PowerPivot
in case you only have calculated measure you may created a separate, independent linked table and define all calculated measures there
this way they at least would not get removed
