CSS Trouble - Links provided

Hi everyone, ok, a couple of questions. I now see how divs is
the way to go (As opposed to tables, lol). Im still new to CSS and
I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a couple of
problems I ran into. Here is the sample:

1. Ok, On my browser (Safari) the whole #container is to the
left. I want it to be in the center. How can I achieve this?
2. After the navigation bar div, I have a div called
#cellsboth . There, I placed a #thumbnailscroll, and after that, I
put in #cellB. But #thumbnailscroll has a padding of 10px, but that
only shows in the top, and not the bottom. How do I get it to be
right smack in the middle? Where it has 5 or 10px whitespace around
it?
3. Im using Dreamweaver 8, and my "Design" view shows the
#cellB directly underneath #thumbnailscroll. When I upload it, it
seems fine, but is there a way to fix the way it shows on
Dreamweaver, or am I stuck with that type of display?
4. In #thumbnailscroll , can I have the images placed within
it have a spacing of 5px apart? I was trying to look for the option
that does this, but I cannot find it. I have a feeling this is a
newbie question..
So yeah, those are the questions I have for now, but any help
would be greatly appreciated. I like CSS now..lol

Trouble Linking content within Attached Movieclip

Ok, so as the title indicated I am having trouble linking a
flv file with a playback component via actionscript. Here's a
breakdown of what's going on:
At the root level I have attached a movieclip named
Navigation. Inside of Navigation is a button that attaches another
movieclip, named List, also at the root level. Inside of List is
another button that attaches a third movielcip, named Movie.
Inside of Movie is an FLVPlayback component, instance name
Player, with no content linked. The code for the button in List is
as follows:

_root.movie1._x = 250;
_root.movie1._y = 0;

So the button in List successfully attaches Movie, and
positions it correctly, but the FLVPlayback component, Player,
never establishes connection with the flv file that I tried to
direct it to.
Is there something simple that I'm messing up on?

Have you tried using "movie" without attaching it
dynamically? (does it work when just sitting on the stage and you
set the var). I would give that a try first. I know that some
server hosts block unknown/rare file types, so you might not even
be able to connect to the file. Alternatively, you can check for a
connection error by adding the code below

Can you describe what “the operation is failing” means? What is happening and how is it different than what you expect?
Also, what product are you trying to update manually, and do you have a link to the page of instructions, so we know what your attempting to do?

CSS Button Links in HTML email not working in TB

Greetings,
Our company is creating an html email for customers and we are noticing the CSS button links don't work when viewing in Thunderbird 31 and 32 beta.
Does TB require unique coding to get these to work?
Any assistance would be appreciated...

From the point of view of a user who views received email messages in Thunderbird, it doesn't support scripting. Straight links should work and and you can attach a link to an image.
Note that Thunderbird does NOT offer active links in the Compose window. So however you create it, you won't see it as the recipient does unless you save it and view it as a draft.

My Flash .swf nestled under my CSS, .swf links not working

I added some links in actionscript in my swf file and they work great but once inserted into my Dreamweaver file under my CSS the links are not responding. I know that I had to set up the CSS so that the .swf would fit into a desired shape but is there a way to have the links work above the CSS while still looking the way it does?

HT201342 Trouble linking iCloud E-Mial with my PC E-Mail app

Having trouble linking iCloud E-Mial with my PC E-Mail app. When I created the new iCloud user name I couldn't use my current Apple ID (@comcast.net) it required me to use a @iCloud.com address. I was never asked for a password for this new account but it did say this was created under my original Apple ID somehow. I got all of the server settings off of the support site and used the password for my original Apple ID but it doesn't work. Any ideas on where to go from here?

After a series of tests with the Thunderbird users, we've established the problem was not:
Mail/Thunderbird incompatibility
related to Mail's stationery
related to styled text
only because of attachments
only because of PDF attachments
Both users had the trouble after I forwarded PDFs to them from two different outside suppliers. So far, my theory is that there was something about those particular files. After five run-throughs where the co-workers had no problems with e-mail from me, I now want to replicate the problem, but (understandably) they're not eager to lose their work time to do it. I'll post more as I learn more.

Then Restart your Mac.

It did not come from Apple. Do not click on the link and do not supply your password. It is a scam. You can report the phishing email to Apple here:

Having trouble linking dll file

Hey guys,
I'm having trouble linking a third part dll file in visual studio 2013.
I'm using a third part library called "tinyXml2" to parse xml file in my plugin. Here's my folder structure"Adobe After Effects CS6 Win SDK\Examples\AEGP\ServerRender\Win\tinyXml",
my project file is in the "Win" folder.
In my "tinyXml" folder I have 3 files "tinyxml2.dll", "tinyxml2.h" and "tinyxml2.lib".
I use "#pragma comment(lib，"tinyXml\tinyxml2.lib")" to link the lib file
but it doesn't work, I still get "error LNK2019" and "error LNK2001" errors says the compiler can't find the methods I'm using.
I have set the "Project Properties --> C/C++ --> Code Generation-->Runtime Library" to "/MT" too
Do you ever running into such problem before? Please help me !!!

Never mind, newbie mistake. If I want to link a dll to my project, I need to make sure that my dll and lib file are compiled with the same settings as my plugin. Current my plugin is compiled in debug mode targeting x64, so I need to make sure my dll and lib are compiled with such settings too!

Trouble Linking TOC Paragraph Styles from a Word 2010 Document to a RoboHelp HTML Project

I apologize if this question has been answered elsewhere. I did my best to search the forums and the web, but I haven't seen anything that helps resolve the issue I'm having yet. I am new to RoboHelp 9. I am using Word 2010 and Windows 7.
I am working on creating a WebHelp that is linked to a Word 2010 document. For the most part, I have had no trouble with the linked document, but something seems to be wrong with the styles and formatting for the TOC paragraph styles that I created in the Word document: the formatting does not apply to the topics in RoboHelp. All of the other paragraph styles (Heading 1-4, Body Text, etc.) are working perfectly. The problem seems to apply ony to text using the paragraph styles TOC 1-4.
The TOC in the Word document looks like this:
The topic containing that TOC in the RoboHelp project looks like this:
In the Word document, the entries for 1. Introduction, 2. Punctuation, and 3. Numbers are all all set to the paragraph style TOC 1. The entries for Purpose, Audiance and Applicability, Scope and Other References, etc. are all set to the paragraph style TOC 2. Both of these paragraph styles contain formatting for font and indentations, and they also appear in the RoboHelp project's .CSS file as WD_TOC 1 and WD_TOC 2.
The problem, as far as I can tell, is that the TOC 1, TOC 2, and TOC 3 styles do not appear to be applied to the text in the topic.
I could resolve the issue by highlighting the text I'd like to apply the style to and applying the appropriate style using the Styles and Formatting pod, but then every time I update the Word document, the text would revert.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your response, Peter. I do understand that what I'm trying to do is not standard--and probably not best practice for WebHelp. I am following instructions to make the WebHelp function like the website we are using as a model, which features a TOC for each chapter as a separate page. So I understand that what I'm doing is essentially pounding a square peg into a round hole, but it seems like it should work as long as RoboHelp can pick up the right paragraph styles.
I can eliminate the page numbers pretty easily by choosing to use hyperlinks instead of page numbers in web output (this is an option in Word 2010), but the Hyperlink style is a character style that overlays the paragraph styles TOC 1, TOC 2, etc and suppresses page numbers. While the Hyperlink character style translates with no problem to RoboHelp, those underlying paragraph styles are still not linking up quite right. For the sake of trying to simplify things and address the real problem, I temporarily removed the hyperlinks (thereby including the page numbers) in order to straighten things out. Thank you for pointing out the apparent oversight, though!
What's confusing about the problem is that WD_TOC 1 and WD_TOC 2 are already defined--they just aren't being applied. I can apply them manually, but as soon as I do, the status indicator in the Project Manager pod changes to the yellow triangle with an exclamation point (), indicating that the project is out of sync. As soon as I update the topics, those TOCs revert to having no paragraph styles at all. Does that make sense?

Email campaign - inline css - a:link, a:hover

What do people do about setting the color of the a:link and a:hover when setting up a page for email distribution using inline css?
From what I've read you can't declare inline styles for the above mentioned styles?
Is it ok to put those in css <style></style> tags in the head section of the page and just let those email clients that can deal with it do so and forget those that can't, or is there a better alternative?

Ok, that's what I thought. I'll use inline css styling for pretty much everything I can to be on the safe side and just put css that can't be inserted inline in an embedded style sheet. I guess its no big deal if a few email client don't like it.

My google mail through FireFox will not open up a link provided by a forum that I contribute to,AOl through FireFox will.The googlemail produces an Internal Serer Error notice.

I am a registered member of a Specialist Car Forum. I subscribed to have E'mail alerts to my google mail account when responses were made to the posts that I provide comment to. During the past week I have been getting the following notice in black font on a plain white background :- Internal Server Error
I suspected a problem with google mail so I forwarded the troublesome E'mail with link attached to my AOL account. I then opened the E'mail,clicked on the link and it activated immediately.
Whilst both are powered through FireFox I was wondering whether there is a FireFox/google mail issue as FireFox/AOL does not have an issue. My ISP is O2.

I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

CSS for links display differently in Safari and Firefox

Hello all,
I am having some link display problems. The CSS code for my link display is as follows:

Unfortunately, the website is not live yet so I can't direct you to it.
What happens: in Firefox, mousing over a link causes it to go black; but when the link is clicked and the new page has loaded, the link goes back to being gray even though the linked page is active. However, in Safari the links for visited pages stay black. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Using CSS with Linked Report Field

I'm using the CSS Style width:150px on a report column that has a link. However, when using a CSS Style on linked column the formatting doesn't work. If I remove the link the width setting takes effect. How can I correct this? If I embedded the link URL in the query data it will format fine so there appears to be something different happen when Application Express generate the link.

When a report column is rendered as a hyperlink, the CSS style you specify is not used, that is used only for regular report columns.
Try putting your style as style="width:150px;" in the Link Attributes in the Column Link section (where you specify the other hyperlink details)
