CUA needs to have same patch level as other systems?

I was just told that when patching our systems, the CUA system must be brought up to the same patch level.  I thought the communication from CUA was via IDocs, so I don't quite get why they must be in synch like that.
Is there an OSS note addressing this?  We're using CUA across companies and it isn't really convenient to apply support packages to every system we have at once.

I don't know the caracteristics of your Landscape, but usually is a good practice to have all system at the same patch level. Now, If you have a full system just for Central User Administration it won't affect the CUA funtionallity if the patch level is lower that the production/qa/dev systems...
Again, Its a good practive to have all your landscape at the same level.

  • Is it possible to have same patch in different sets?

    My MainStage is going to have it's first gig on 29th. I'm now organizing the patches so that changing them would be as fluent as possible. The most practiful way that I've come up with is to have a set per a group of songs. Now, I have two patches that I use in every song and I'd like to have these patches in all of the sets. Is there a way to actually use the same patch (not a duplicate) over and over in the patch list? Or isn't it a memory consuming way to duplicate the patch many times?

  • BI Content patch level on BI system and source system

    Hi all, hope you can help
    our BI and ECC6 systems are separated. My question is, do we need to be on the same BI_CONT patch level in BI and ECC6? Our current patch level in BI is 7.0.3 level 9 and in ECC6 we have not loaded any patches, however we have BI content which was delivered with the install.

    Plan on applying the Linux and Solaris versions of all applications patches to the respective servers.

    Patches must always be applied in their entirety. If you apply a patch to update
    your filesystem, you must also apply the corresponding database and generation
    portions of the patch if they are included. When updating the filesystem in a
    multi-server environment, you should apply the patch on all servers.
    You can see what patches have been applied to which nodes in OAM on the Applied Patches page. Oracle will not advise you to have patch differences, otherwise supportability comes into question due to partial patch application.

    Hi Remi,
    If export the CR report to excel, you can import this excel sheet in Dashboards using the symbol near Manage Connections option.
    But this will be a static spreadsheet. If you want to use the live data then you will have to go with Live Office data connection.

  • WebStart Applications have same security level like unsigned Applets

    I have coded an Applet that can connect to data of my server using new URL(getDocumentBase(), "localfile.bla");, but now I have converted it to an application loaded with WebStart. I can't access the data with new URL("http://www.myserver.com/localfile.bla");, but a I don't have a DocumentBase, too. Do I Have to set an argument in the jnlp file with the DocumentBase, in order to access local data?
    Or are there any other possibilities?!?

    You have to set the code base in your JNLP file in the codebase attribute of the <jnlp> element:
    <jnlp spec="1.0" codebase="www.myserver.com">
    </jnlp>You should then be able to get hold of the code base from within the application using the following code:

  • Photoshop CS5 doesn't have same printer presets as other CS5 products

    I am trying to print from Photoshop CS5 to a Konica Bizhub c451 printer that uses account tracking and user authentication.  But, when attempting to print from photoshop CS5 the printer preset doesn't have the same options (doesn't allow us to put in owner information) as the other CS5 products.  For example I am able to print from Illustrator CS5 but not Photoshop CS5.  I am also able to print from Photoshop CS3 on the same computer but not CS5.  Any ideas?

    If so then you have Lion. Again why do you think you need to upgrade? What did the store tell you that makes you think you need to upgrade? Are you having some type of incompatibility with some other Apple device?
    You can upgrade to Mt Lion for $20 or Mavericks for free if your Mac meant the system requirements for those other versions of OS X.
    But the real question is still why do you need to do this upgrade. There has to be an underlying reason for it.

    Could you let me know why do I have multi languages versions when I transported the form to other sandbox system.
    Let me breif my probem. On development system I have one form and since we do not want other languages versions to come into picture so I deleted all of the languages versions and kept only original version which is 'DE' in which form was created. When i see the version logs it also shows me only 'DE' version since I deleted rest of other versions.
    On development system form works fine since we want language 'DE' to be called for any language and inside the form it takes care for all the languages.
    But when I transported it to other sandbox system form is not working fine since when transported it is now available in all the languages and when testing is done for this form in sandbox system it does not work since for example when testing is done using 'HU' language form gets called in 'HU' language and  it is available on sandbox system and as a result form does not work since in 'HU' language form is not correct, and also when versions are seen on sandbox it shows the form active or translate in all the languages.
    Is there anything that needs to be done while transporting the form...I only want that on sandbox system only version DE should be available..like the way it is in development system.

  • Diff Patch Level on External web and Source Server

    We recently setup our external web server in DMZ on Linux while our source system
    is running on Solaris.
    We followed 238276.1 doc to migration the middle tier to linux. We were asked to check
    both systems should have same Patch level.
    I have doubts here
    o Since we have only one DB Tier, and we copied APPL_TOP from Source solaris and
    convert the files to linux. we installed IAS and 8.0.6 home from Universal installer
    Is it possible to have diff patch level on both instances. as we have only DbTier
    and the only way [ I know ] to check whether we have patch applied or not is
    query to database or using OAM as it would show the same patch.
    o if there is possibility to have diff. patch level then how can we detect this and what is the way to apply patches on one server [ Adadmin ? ]
    o Can you please point me to any DOC which can give clarity how diff. type of patches
    we can have in Apps.

  • Need advice: Accidentally applied the same patch twice

    So I fumbled with my 10 PuTTy sessions and accidentally typed opatch apply in server that I had already patched. It asked me if the system was ready for patching and I hit "yes". It started "Updating" some files and in a bit of a panic I probably did exactly what I shouldn't have done... pressed ctrl+c to break the process. Should I be at all concerned? Should I...
    - Reapply the patch (it doesn't do anything else but update more files)?
    -Take the "updated files" from another recently patched environment and overwrite them in this one?
    - Rollback the patch and reapply it?
    - Leave it?

    I actually ended up just doing an opatch rollback -id <Patch ID> followed by another opatch apply for that patch. Nothing seems to have gone wrong. I was worried earlier because I checked the md5 digest of some of the files and none of them matched up between environments with equal patch levels.

  • Abap and java patch level

    I have a portal installed on a standalone java based on sp13.  I also have a backend ECC5.0 on a web as abap (sp9).  If I want to connect the portal to the backend ecc, do I need to upgrade the abap to the same patch level as the standalone java (ie. sp13).
    Also, I have installed the portal via rapid installer, which has also created a new sld for me.  If I want to add the abap as a new technical system in the sld, is it required that both the java (of which the sld is based) and the abap be of the same patch level?  thanks!

    If you want to connect to the backend system , both the Portal and ECC (Back end System ) need not be of the same pacth level. And you can also add the techincal system in SLD of diffrent pacth levels.

    Patchsets are recommended when you have problems with your installation or when you need to get to a higher version to keep on having full support. For example, for some platforms it would be necessary to upgrade to 10.2.0.4 database version before March 2009 to keep on having full support. If you are having no issues I think its not necessary to upgrade your client. If you want to be sure of the supported versions of every product you can check it at [metalink.oracle.com].

    kerne patch level of DEV system is 196 and QAS system is 347 and PRD system's kernel patch level is 196
    can this is affect on request transporting DEV to QAS and PRD or any issues plz. guide me

    No problems for tranports but you're not qualifying what will be running on production....
    The whole point of a quality system is to use exactly the same release, kernel patch levels and SP levels as the prodcution system.

    Hi experts.
    I have this problem.
    In my development portal, I see, under the System Administration->System Configuration->Collaboration the entry "Transports"
    Instead,
    in my production portal, I see, under the System Administration->System Configuration->Collaboration the entry "Groupware Transports"
    The systems are EP 7.0 SPS level 17 but I have some doubts about the same patch level.
    How can I see which is the patch level component of the above mentioned entries "Transports" and "Groupware Transports"  ?
