CUP 5.3: link in Email Reminder

Hi everyone,
We are implementing CUP 5.3. We have configured the email reminder template and scheduled the corresponding bg job.
The emails reminders are sent ok according to the job scheduled. But, as oppose the "next approver" notification mail, the reminder email does not contain a link to the request in its body
Is this correct? What can we to include the link to the request in these emails?

Hi Pablo,
In reminder mail we are not providing the url for teh request.
But even then you want to have a url in the mail then you have 2 options
1) Copy paste the url in the mail content itself.
2)Go to Configuration> SMTP server> Application URL. The url given there is always embedded in the request.
In this way you can give url of AE. But request specific url is not possible in either case.

we have Password Self Services working and sending out emails to users with a https link BUT is there anyway to protect the link in that email i.e. if you fwd that email to another user and they are a valid user in CUP they can open the email. Either authentication (which would require some userinfo in the link in the email) or encryption (which would require sending the email encrypted out of CUP).
Any ideas?

Adding link to CUP ticket in Email reminder in 5.3 SP8.1

We have CUP configured to sent an email reminder after a ticket is idle for 30 days to the people that are needed to approve the tickets. This email does not include a link to the ticket itself as it does in other emails from CUP.
Is there a way to add the link to the ticket referenced in the email that goes out as the email reminder sent to people?
Again, we are on CUP 5.3 SP8.1

I'm not sure that there is!
The only suggestion that I have is to have a static link to the application in the body of the email. Perhaps raise a message to SAP to ask if they are releasing this functionality in a support pack soon?

I have been experiencing a problem in CUP for Email Reminder background job. The job is always in "BUSY" status. It is not in "Available" status as others! Can somebody help me on this?

Don't worry Faisal,
We have the same problem, but with escalation job. The message was opened in the 19th of May this year, but it's still in process. At the begining consultants suggested us to upgrade our system with the latest SP, but it doesn't work. We are on the latest SP with all patches but the problem persists. Of cource, we met all requirements for job planning, and performance suggested by different SAP specialist - nothing is changed.
I think it would be better if you write the message directly to SAP hotline. You are not alone

3 Day Email Reminder in CUP for Approvers That have Not Approved

Is it possible to set up a 3 day email reminder that a request needs to be approved if it is still sitting in CUP to be approved? All I see in the configuration is were the reminder, submission & closing tabs can be configured by Days but the number of days pertains to all of the tabs. Is this correct?

I'm not sure which version of CUP you're referring to. But in GRC CUP 5.3, on the configuration>workflow->email reminder tab, you will see above the email notifications types of 'reminder', 'submission' , and 'closing'.. the option to choose number of days b4 sending the email reminder. You can set that value to '3' and it should work. If the approvers haven't approved the request for 3 days, after the 3rd day, they will get email reminders sent to approve.

CUP Email Reminder

Hi,
Is it possible to send more than 1 email reminder to approvers who have not approved the requests in time? When testing CUP is sending reminder only once based on the value 'Select No. Of Days'. We would like to send reminders more than once after the approvers fail to approve the request. How can this be achieved? Ideally we would like 3 notifications be sent 1 every day after the request has been open for 'Select No. Of Days' ?

Thanks for the reply. Job is scheduled to run daily and we are now getting notified correctly based on the number of days. I guess we can not count the number of reminders being sent or there is an option to include that in the email.
I have two questions about stale request process.
Is there any option to get notified once the stale request is canceled by CUP?
Request audit log shows a ID that has been used to cancel the stale request. This ID is not entered in 'Support' configuration and this screen is blank. Where does CUP gets this ID from?

Linking multiple emails to a single event in ical and/or to do's

Hi:
Often I receive emails and I want to link them to an event in ical. OS X does this just fine as long as there is date in the email that OS X can recognize. The problem is sometimes I get multiple emails relating to the same event and I would like to be able to link all of those emails to one single event in ical. My same questions applies to 'to do' items.
And a follow up question--say I receive an email that has no date explicit in the text-I've tried to find some function that would allow me to schedule a new event in ical and would link that email to it. (I hope that all makes sense) I'm open to whatever solution I'll even pay money for 3rd party software if anyone knows of a good program. But I"m looking to stick to the basic ical interface. Any suggestions?

seems this is one of visio graphics limitation regarding the external data.
visio graphics, may only support for one row.
you may consider this idea :

graphic should immediately appear next to the shape displaying some data from the row. From here you are able to customize the graphic to fit your needs"

Problem with links on email templates
Hi,
We have been having issues with links on our email templates. Some of the links point to the following URL:

Sometimes we get “Unknown internal error” on the web page.
Can anyone help or advise on how to resolve this issue?

Hi Wesley,
This is rather late, but we've seen the same thing frequently (and I believe can replicate it). It's caused when you a creating a new email by copying the content of an existing one with a name space in it.
Upon copying, the link gets scrambled. The approach we use is to copy the email in to a new template, then strip out all of the URL links and add them back in.

How do I "link" an email address in the body of an email?

I know how to link a web url, but I cannot find a way to link an email address in the body of an email. I want the recipient of my email to be able to click on the email address that is displayed in my message and have it open a new email to that address on their computer like I have done in every other mail software. Thanks in advance for your help.

Highlight some text in the message body, Insert/Link (Ctrl-L), enter mailto:[email protected] in the Link Location box.

Link an email to an iCal event

I would like to link an email message in Mail to an iCal event. Under Lion, the only way to do this seems to be to drag the email out of Mail and into a separate folder on the hard drive. Then drag the icon of that mail message to the url section of the event in iCal. Surprisingly, there does not seem to be any way to make a direct link between a message in Mail and an iCal event. If so, this is quite a major oversight and I am keen to know if others are concerned and/or have any solutions to propose.

Open the event in edit mode. If you double click it and the buttons 'Edit' and 'Done' appear you need to click 'Edit', if the only button is 'Done' it is already in edit mode.
When you drag the email over the grey event edit window a plus icon with a green background should appear. Drag it until the cursor is over the word 'none' next to where it says 'url'.
If it works the text 'none' will change into a hyperlink saying 'Show in Mail…'.

I can no longer open up any links on emails to any website. It just takes me to firefox but keeps the last page I was looking at. No problem using Safari however. ONly has happened since last update

I have an imac and using lastest firefox update. No links open to any website using firefox when I click on link on email. No difference if I right click and choose to open the link either

Thanks very much for that. it worked on my powerbook(running Tiger). I went to the link and followed the instructions and it worked. Did i mention that my dad who has a iMac running Leopard now has the same problem. I thought i would just do the same but the Preference in Mail for Leopard is of course different. There is no icon called "Server Settings" under Accounts section like there is on mine. Do you have a link for the same kind of instructions for Leopard?

Since updating Firefox, links from emails in MacMail no longer open sites on Firefox; I click on them, it goes to Firefox, but no page opens. Is this a problem caused by the latest security upgrade to Firefox? It happened immediately after I downloaded it. I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.6.

Link in emails open a new Firefox window with my default home page. How do I get Firefox to open the linked web page, in an new tab, as it used to do??
This is for Win XP, FF 17.0.1, using Outlook as mail client.

Do you mean the results from a search via the Google search bar on the Navigation toolbar or the Firefox Google home page (www.google.com/firefox) ?
For the Google website you can set your preferences on the Google.com page via the [http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en Google Search settings] link at the top right.
Results Window: Open search results in a new browser window.
You need to allow cookies for Google (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to save that setting, otherwise you have to repeat it.
For the Google search bar on the Navigation toolbar you can set the pref browser.search.openintab to true on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
