Currency exchange rate changed between GR and Invoice

Hi,
How we treat the difference of exchange rate occured between Good Receipt and Invoice (MIRO) ?
Please advise
Regards.

Hi,
You can use MR11.
If you do not want the exchange rate difference to occure, then use the "Fixed Exchange Rate" in the PO header.

  • Exchange rate difference between MIRO and GR/IR

    Hi,
Exchange rate difference between MIRO and GR/IR we need to written off as a expense for imported w/off expense and in case of assets we need to post exchange rate difference to exchange fluctuation account. Currently exchange rate difference is accounting under capital work in progress(Asset)instead of exchange fluctuation.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
At MIRO stage, after entering PO number system will automatically populate the GRN value for selection. Here if you found that invoice value, which you have received from the vendor, is more than the system proposed amount, then you can adjust that diff amount in the GL account tab, which is next to PO reference tab in MIRO.
There enter the exch loss GL account and enter the diff amount.
    Thanks,
    Srinu.

  • Exchange rate variances between Primary and Secondary Ledger

We have a little problem on our hands.....we are implementing dual ledgers with dynamic posting, primary in Canadian Dollar and secondary in USD.
Exchange rate variances would occur if for example, we consider material transactions at different points in time. We would have no problems in the primary. However, CAD to USD exchange rates are updated monthly and very likely, rates would change month to month. Therefore, exchange rate variances would happen frequently in the secondary ledger.
We have been asked by senior management how these variances would be handled by EBS. Just wondering if you have ideas though we are looking into the accounting events in SLA.
    Thanks,
    Sanjib

If the requirement was to maintain balance in USD and Canadian dollar, You can use the Reporting currency option instead of Secondary ledger.

  • Exchange rate differences between GR and IR

    Hi Gurus,
i have a problem about a exchange rate differences beetween GR and IR. Customizing setting is done based on this logic (transaction OMRW, ERD setting = blank).
For example: Goods Receipt amount is $100 and the posting is made with exchange rate 0,8. When busy with MIRO the user change manually exchange rate from 0,8 to 1,0. Moreover, the user change item amount from $100 to $150.
When the user simulate the posting in MIRO, transaction KDM is not activated (used).
Is to be underline that if item amount is not change but it remains untouched, transaction KDM is used correctly.
    The system is:
    SAP ECC 6.0
    Software component:  SAP_APPL
    Release:  600
    Level: 0016
    Highest support package: SAPKH60016
Short description of software component: Logistics and Accounting
Have you any ideas about the reason of this malfunction?
    Many thanks already in advance.

    Hi Ankur,
Thanks for your reply. But our problem is sales order, exchange rates are defined with M type in OB08 as u have said. However when the periods are different for order entry and invoice generation we are facing the following problem.Orders are at old exchange rates and excise invoice is getting generated at current exchange rate. This is resulting in value difference between commercial invoice and excise invoice.

  • AP- Why exchange rate type between Post invoice and Post payment is differe

AP- Why exchange rate type between Post invoice and Post payment is different ?
    Hello,
    I have question
when post AP invoice , document type KR
    document date = 11.12.2009
    posting date = 31.12.2009
    entry date = 05.01.2010
this document using exchange rate type B (standard translation at bank selling rate) on 31.12.2009 (use posting date )
but when post payment for above document, document type ZP
    document date = 25.06.2010
    posting date = 25.06.2010
    entry date = 24.06.2010
this document using exchange rate type M (standard translation at average rate) on 23.06.2010
    please answer
why do post invoice and post payment use different exchange rate type?
and why at payment donot use posting date for get exchange rate ?

    Nanas,
Sorry if im not  being clear...
My point is: the difference rates customization for payments is done at FBZP.
At Paying Company Codes, you have 4 flags for exchange rates differentes.
    At Control Data look:
*Do not Post any Exchange Rate Differences:
If the indicator is not set, the difference between the exchange rate at the time of posting and the exchange rate at the time of payment is determined for items which are posted in foreign currency. The payment program uses the translation rate in the currency table in the system for this purpose.
*No Exchange Rate Differences for Partial Payments:
Has the effect that the payment program for partial payments (requests for payment using transaction F-59) does not post exchange rate differences.
*Processing of Bill of Exchange Payments:
*Separate Payment for each Payment Reference

  • Exchange Rate difference between PO , GR and IR

    Hi All,
I have a question, Does anyone know how to handle the PO exchange rate difference between PO , GR and IR time.
    For example
    1.  PO creation on Jan 2009  - exchange rate = 1.2
    2.  GR creation on Feb 2009 - exchange rate = 1.5
    3.  IR  creation on March 2009 - exchange rate = 1.7
Should GR and IR use the PO exchange rate # 1 for posting or use the current exchange # 2 for GR and #3 for IR ?
    Thank you
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
The exchange rates in PO and GR and IR will be different as if you have are updating the rates per month in system so it will changed.

  • To have a same exchange rate in Proforma (F8) and Std Invoice (F2).

    Hi Friends,
I have searched all the threads and could not find appropriate answer for the below query.
Having different exchange rates in Proforma (F8) and final  invoices (F2)  causes problems and should be avoided.
Proforma invoices are necessary to start customs processes during export transactions (before shipment). Final invoices issued after PGI are generated through SAP.
However the total amounts differ in F8 and final invoice (F2) because they are not generated at the same day and SAP converts the costs to USD using current rates in the related day.
Therefore the final invoice (which is the legal  invoice) and the initial proforma invoice amounts are not the same.
As a result for each final  invoice - F2 (if they are not generated at the same day) a manual correction entry is created.
Having this much correction entry is not legally proper. In summary business requires that SAP should use the same exchange rate both in F8 & F2.
    Business process:
    PO --> Replishnment Delivery --> F8 --> PGI ---> F2
    SO --> Delivery --> F8 --> PGI ---> F2
I have tried an option by changing copy control setting from Delivery to F8, pricing type- Pricing calculatiion unchanged.
But I am not sure the impact of it.
    Regards,
    Vamsi
I request you to suggest the correct procedure for the above issue.
Edited by: vamsi P on Aug 25, 2010 7:45 AM

    Dear Joao ,
In the copy control (VTFL) of your invoice and delivery , select the item category and in the details
maintain A Copy from sales order for 'PricingExchRate'
Check and revert back whether your issue is solved.

  • Vendor Invoice w/ different exchange rate on taxable amount and tax amount

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue with regarding the Vendor Invoice with Foreign Currency. Normally we use JPY as our base currency and system exchange rate for out Vendor Invoices. But there was an audit issue pointing out that the Original Vendor Invoice is not tallied with the SAP Invoice as the tax amount is not the same. The problem is the Original Invoice has the Vendor Exchange Rate and it is not the same with the system rate that we use. Auditor tells us that we should use the Vendor Exchange Rate for Tax Amount and use the System Exchange Rate for the Taxable Amount. Is this possible? Can we use 2 Exchange Rates in a single Invoice Document one for the taxable amount and one for the tax amount? How can we possibly do this? Or any workaround?
Thanks a lot for the information!

I think its a bit misleading...The requirement is to post an Invoice with a base taxable amount of  Exchange Rate A and a tax amount of Exchange Rate B. The Base Currency is JPY and the System Currency is SGD. So the Report S_ALR_87012357 should see the amount in SGD there. The Issue is caused by the different exchange rate on the tax amount submitted by the Vendor Invoice.
Example: Vendor Invoice Amount: 926,413.00 JPY, then we created PO to Invoice with Base Currency JPYalso amounted 926,413.00 JPY. However, in the Vendor Invoice Amount, the Tax Chargeable is 923.00 SGD (based on their exchange rate 65.66 JPY per SGD). But our Exchange Rate (System Rate) is 63.49 JPY per SGD. How can we reflect the Tax Amount as 65.66 JPY but still the correct SGD amount is based on the Vendor Original Invoice Exchange Rate 65.66 and not the System Exchange Rate, 63.49 in the same Invoice Creation (MIRO)?

    HiI
f you set this selection field then the settings in the ERD Setting column for this currency type are no longer relevant. The system calculates and posts exchange rate differences between order-related goods receipts and invoices not just for materials with standard price, but also for:
    Materials with moving average price
    Account-assigned transactions
    Planned delivery costs
The valuation of the inventories or consumption is effectively done at the exchange rate for the goods receipt, and not at the exchange rate of the invoice. When you post the good receipts, the fixed exchange rate from the purchase order is not used, but the translation of the purchase order values to local currency is always done at the posting date of the goods receipt.
If you are using the material ledger with actual costing, the system does not include the posted exchange rate differences at period-end closing in the actual prices of the materials.

  • Problem in Currency Exchange Rates

    Hello All,
This question is connected to currency conversions from GBP to EUR in Sales Transactions. We have defined 2 Exchange Rate Types between GBP to EUR.
One Exchange Rate Type (example "ZZZZ") is from NETHERLANDS  to the internal INTER-company Customer in Britain.
The other Exchange Rate Type (example "YYYY") is for Sales from SPAIN to External customers in Britain.
These exchange rate types ZZZZ and YYYY are defined in the respective customer masters and there are conversion Ratios maintained for both in OB08.
    T/Codes OB07 & OB08 are maintained. Tables TCURF & TCURV are maintained.
    Problem:
For Intercompany Customers with Rate Type ZZZZ: The system is taking the correct currency conversion of Rate Type ZZZZ in the Accounting documents of Intercompany Invoices as defined in OB08 for ZZZZ.
For Sales to External Customers with Rate Type YYYY:
The system ignores the Ratio maintained for Exch Rate Type "YYYY" in the Customer Master and prefers the EURX Rate in the Accounting documents of customer Invoices.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivas,
Go to OBBS and find the transalation ratios between the currency pair GBP to EUR with exch rate type YYYY.
For that row, there is a field called Alternative exch rate type must have been assigned as EURX.
Remove it and SAVE and post your sales document now.
    This will resolve your issue.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

We have used expense puchase order through account assignment category.
the cost object include cost center, sale order, order.because we don’t use Fixed assets module in SAP,when purchase fixed assets,we also use account assignment category but no need to fill assets number(Not use account assignment category A).
the processing in current system when there is exchange rate difference between GR&IR  as follows.
purchase order Currency :USD  company code currency:HKD
example 1-- when something purchased into expense account,
    Good receipt  (1USD=7.75HKD)
    Dr :expense account  100USD    775HKD
      Cr: GR/IR        100USD    775HKD
    Invoice receipt

        Expense account            25HKD
    CR: Vendor        100USD    800HKD
Example 2-- when something purchased into Fixed assets account,
purchase order :USD  company code currency:HKD
    Good receipt on Oct .01. 2007  (1USD=7.75HKD)
Dr :Fixed assets account  100USD    775HKD

      Cr: Vendor            100USD     780HKD
The fixed assets is depreciated from Nov,2007.
There is one problem that after the fixed assets is depreciated, the value for the fixed assets is added , the finance clerk have to adjust the added value from fixed assets account to Exchange Difference-Gain/Loss account by manual.
    Our problem is
How to configure in order to make  the exchage rate difference into Exchange Difference-Gain/Loss account for purchase order with account assignment category, not the original assigned account in purchase order item.
    Many thanks

    Hi Fanny
Even though the question is bit unclear, I guess you are looking for the T-Code OBYC. Use transaction key KDM for configuring the exchange gain/loss

  • Display currency exchange rates

OC41 seems to always default to a "change" mode.

I need to see the data, but I do not want to change the data
Is there a separate transaction for display only?
    If not -  suggestions??

There are three T Codes for currency exchange rates - OC41, OB08 and S_BCE_68000174.  Give your users authorization (display only - your Basis/Security team should help you with this) to any of these T Codes.
Some more T Codes for the same transaction - OKUS, F-62
