Currency format in Spreadsheet tables uses period's instead of comma's

Xcelsius 2008 SP3.  I have inserted a spreadsheet table into my model, the columns are formatted in a currency format with $ and the thousand's separator that is displaying in the table is a period instead of a comma.  Has anybody else seen this problem?

Hi,
yes, I`ve had the same behavior. As a workaround, you have to change the format of the cells.
Go into the properties of the cells:
-> Right mouse click
-> format cells
-> category
-> number
-> change something, e.g. the number of decimal places to show
Then you will have to map the component again to the same cells under "Display Data".
And now, the currency information will be shown correctly.

  • Wrong format for spreadsheet table, list view, label component

I have a movie which is connected to a web service.  The web service feeds into cells that are linked to a spreadsheet table component.  The cells are properly formatted in excel and the fields show up fine when using static data.  However, once I pull in data in preview mode or with a published movie the cells lose the desired format.  I tested this with other components such as list view and label and get the same result.  I do not see the same results with the mouse over values in a chart though.  Anyone know what might be the problem?
    Thanks for the help

    Thanks for the response Andy.
The fields I use have the same uniform format so there is no dynamic formatting going on.  I have read up on the rebind fix and have tried it but it doesn't seem to change things.
Here are the specifics of my situation.  I paste some sample data returned from a query into the excel sheet.  One of the fields is a percentage so I format those cells appropriately and the excel sheet reflects the change.  I then bind the spreadsheet component to the cells containing the sample data.  The percentage field is properly displayed on the canvas as well as when I go into preview mode.  I now feed the cells with the sample data with a web service that uses the same query I used to generate the sample data.  In preview mode the percentage cell now is unformatted and shows up looking like a decimal number.  The same situation occurs for a label component bound to a single percentage cell.  I even configure the label component to format the text as a percentage.

  • Incorrect currency format in Spreadsheet output of ALV

    Hi all,
Suddenly, in all my ALV reports, when we click the menu List->Export->Spreadsheet, all the currency fields are displayed in incorrect format (like 1234:0000000000000000) with colon instead of dot(.) and with around 16 decimal places.
Except currrency fields, all other types are displayed correctly.
But the output format comes correctly in ALV output and also if i use Export->local file.
This is the case even for all standard as well as custom reports.
I am using ECC 6.0 and MS Office 2007
Can anybody please guide me on this

  • Can you change the currency formatting in a cell using Pages for iPhone?

Since my MacBook Pro is grumpy this morning, I downloaded Pages for my iPhone and then purchased the app "Inspiration Set" which contains a group of templates for use in Pages. I think the original templates were built on a Mac.
I have opened up the template, changed all the info to build my invoice, but they have a group of cells set for pounds instead of dollars. Does the iPhone version of Pages allow me to reformat these cells as dollars, instead of pounds?
My Mac is STILL not starting up, so I HAVE to be able to find a solution using the iPhone ONLY...
    Thanks for any help,
    -Chris

    Guy,
Update: I wrote the following before putting on my glasses and realizing that you were asking about Pages rather than Numbers. Maybe the same procedure will apply.
    See these nice instructions.
In short: To select a currency symbol, tap Currency, and then tap the symbol you want.

  • How to use currency format set

    Hi All,
I have to use currency format set to mask the amount values to their respective currencies ,
i reviewed the Oracle XML Publisher Administration and Developer's Guide and followed all the steps mentioned there ,i m also quoting the same over here
To define a Currency Format Set:
    1. Navigate to the Currencies page under the Administration tab. Select Create
    Currency Format Set.
    2. Enter a Name and a Code for the set. The Code is a unique identifier and cannot be
    changed later. Select Apply.
    3. The Currency Formats page will display for your newly created set.
To add currency formats to the Currency Format Set:
    1. Select Add Currency Format to add a format to your set.
    2. Select a Currency Name from the list.
Note: This list is generated from the FND currency table and
should include all ISO currencies. Additional currencies can be
added from the System Administrator responsibility.
    3. Enter the Format Mask you wish to use for this currency and select Apply.
The Format Mask must be in the Oracle number format. The Oracle number format
uses the components "9", "0", "D", and "G" to compose the format, for example:
    9G999D00 where
9 represents a displayed number only if present in data
    G represents the group separator
    D represents the decimal separator
0 represents an explicitly displayed number regardless of incoming data
See Using the Oracle Format Mask, Oracle XML Publisher Report Designer's Guide for
more information about these format mask components.
After a currency format has been created, you can update or delete it from the Currency
    Formats page.
i followed all the above step ,i need to use germany currency ,i have also used the format-currency command in my RTF template, but still its not working ,i used 9G999D00 for masking .
Any hint would be very helpful ,thanks in advance .Please let me know if my question is not clear
    Thanks

    hi all
Thanks ,this is resolved ,i just missed clearing cache ,after clearing the cache its working .

  • 'Spreadsheet Table' component formatting

    Hi,
I have an excel "block" of data that is formatted to the client's expectation. Is it possible to capture those specific formats using the Spreadsheet Table Component (or some other)? It appears that most of my formats are lost, especially the "Wrap Text".
Is there a way to wrap text using the Grid, List View, or Spreadsheet Table modules on Xcelsius 2008 SP3?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Phil

I dont think you can do this with any other component except Spreadsheet one. Try playing more with the spreadsheet table component
the only way i can think of is if you can delete all the text in that block of data and map the spreadsheet table on that - by doing  this you will have the basic structure of that block of data and then you can use lables to do the formatting
    hope it helps

  • XCELSIUS-Comoponent Spreadsheet-table: formatting cells

    Hi,
I don't see how to format Cells in a spreadsheet-table. For instance right right-justified. I would expect in the table the same format as defined in the excel-sheet. But spreadsheet-table doesn't care at all about these definitions in the EXCEL-Sheet. I used the template "Income sheet", and didn't succeed here either. What is the trick?
    Best regards,
    Alfred

Hey Alfred, you are right there is an issue with this component ..you need to re-align the component every time you make changes in the back end excel table. To get more info on this you can go through this article...

  • How to identify tables use currency as foreign keys?

Currently we have identified some currencies that needed to updated to ISO values and others as obsolete(eg. some EURO countiries set to EUR) in ECC
So my question is how to efficiently locate those foreign keys tables in ECC?
    Thx and Best Grds
    David

I do not think I fully understand your question but I will give it a shot.
If you are trying to locate a foreign key, then proceed as follows.
    1.  Transaction Code: SE11
    2.  Enter the table in question.  For example BSEG
    3.  Select a table. For example BUKRS or KUNNR
    4.  Click on Foreign Keys.  The symbol or icon is a key with an arrow pointing down. It is before Srch Help.
    5. A screen will pop-up with the foreign key fields and tables where you can you the CHECKTABLE.
Or enter table using SE11: GLPCT
    2.  Select RTCUR
    3.  Click on Foreign Keys
    3.  In the pop-up screen,  double click on TCURC in the check table field.
Hopes the above provides you with a clue.

  • How can I get Numbers to copy the formatting of a table?

I am trying to replicate the AppleWorks spreadsheet that I created to do my monthly finances
My AppleWorks spreadsheet has lots of defined ranges that I'm turning into separate Numbers Tables (so I have to change Many Many Many cell references, which does not seem to be easy in Numbers)
I've formatted one table as I want it - columns for itemizing expenses for the month with column to describe expense. I've got a header column (e.g. "Hobbies") that I'm centering (merge Cells) over the 2 columns for month's expenses and descriptions. Month's expenses columns are narrower than the description columns.
I've tried selecting the table and saving as a named style.
Then, when I create the next table, it starts w/ generic formatting. I clear and apply the style I've just created - _some_ of the formatting is applied to the new style, but not all:
Fill in the header row not applied
Merged cells in the header row not applied
Tinted fill in header row not applied
Centered text of Merged Cells not applied (left justified, instead)
Centered text of Months not applied (again, left justified)
    Row heights not applied
Is there any way to copy ALL of the formatting of a table and apply it to another table?

Thanks Wayne - I've been working on my AppleWorks to Numbers comversion  using the Apple key - D method to duplicate tables.
I do have to retype column headers (these change for each table)
If I could paste formatting, I could copy the entire table from imported spreadsheet, paste formatting, and Wah-Lah.
Oh, Well the Apple Key - D method (re-entering column heads - type once and then Ctrl-C & a bunch of Ctrl-Vs) is WAY easier than reformatting each table manually.
Only slightly painful to have to re-enter all the cell references for the summed-column totals in the sub-tables into the main table
I've been using the same spreadsheet (w/ minor tweaks from year to year) for the past 12 years... it ain't broke & I'm grumpy about fixing what Apple broke - computers are such timesavers... sigh

  • Tables used for material ledger

What are the standard tables used for material ledger

    Hi,
All req. configuration i have defined in last thread...
The following tables contain data that can appear in the material ledger documents:
    ·        MLHD      Material Ledger Document: Header
    ·        MLIT  Material Ledger Document: Items
    ·        MLPP      Material Ledger Document: Posting Periods and Quantities
    ·        MLPPF    Material Ledger Document: Field Groups (Posting Periods and Quantities)
    ·        MLCR      Material Ledger Document: Currencies and Values
    ·        MLCRF    Material Ledger Document: Field Groups (Currencies and Values)
    ·        MLCRP    Material Ledger Document: Price Change (Currencies, Prices)
    ·        MLMST    Material Ledger Document: Costing Run Header Data
The following types of material ledger documents are available, differing by transaction type:
    ·        CL     Material Ledger Closing Entries
    ·        UP    Material Ledger Update
    ·        PC    Price Changes
    ·        ST     Single-Level Price Determination
    ·        MS    Multilevel Price Determination
    ·        RE    Material Ledger Data Repairs
    USE :
Material ledger documents are data that is recorded during each business transaction that is relevant to valuation. You can archive documents for closed periods when they are no longer needed for material price determination or reporting purposes. Archiving the documents deletes them from the database.

  • BInput Data mismatch with currency format

i am working with fs10 transaction
I want to sum up the balance amount with respect to all
companycode and post SUM to the bseg table using Batch input.
i defined sum variable as below and coded.
data : sum like glt0-hsl01.  (currency format)
    After all SUM operation.
I have done like this to diplay SUM in report first(to check SUM output)
    SUM = SUM * 100.
    write : sum decimals 0.
    >>>>Now in report output i get value '17,222-'
if u see in  fs10 screen we are getting same value.
but when i try to post in Batch input.
i have done like this below.(before posting i have checked
    for negative value )
    if sum < 0.
    sum = sum *100.
compute sum = abs( sum )
    now...
    perform open_group................
perform bdc_field using 'bseg-wrbtr'  (currency format)
                                    sum.
when i execute this BI i get error in Amount(Sum)value
display screen. (saying something differs in length )
    how to match the field.
    ambichan.

    Hello,
Go to the Domain of the Field BSEG-WRBTR, which is WERT7. There you see the Output length as 16. So you decalre a local variable in BDC which is of CHAR16 in length to hold the value of WRBTR.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Print PO Price in Currency Format.

    Hi Everybody,
I want Print PO Price in currency format in alv report how do i get all countries currency values.
       anybody tell me.
    thanks,
    s.muthu

    Hi Muthu
We can do it using the fields in populating the field catalog. Explore the existing fields of the same.
Another way to handle is declare the amt field as char and write the amt to this field using option CURRENCY. The the problem with this method arrives when you want to do totals and stuff.
Below code can help you understand in writing a field to another with currency option.
    data: l_curr(20) type c,
          l_amd type kbetr value '3333.23'.
write l_amd to l_curr currency 'USD'.
    write:/ l_curr.
write l_amd to l_curr currency 'JPY'.
    write:/ l_curr.
To know the currency of a country you can use table T005.
    Kind Regards

  • Problem Adding Calculations to Currency Formated Cells

I have a cell that is formated in currency (USD in this case, i.e. $1,000) and I want to add a calculation to that cell. I double click on the cell with the $1,000, put the cursor at the begining of the cell (before the $) and push "=". A forumula rounded box with a X and √ appears. I type in "+500". Now what shows is "=$1,000+500". I push return and get a syntax error! I now have to go back and delete the comma and the $. Yuck.
It's even worse, if you have a cell with $10 in it. Then the above process thinks it referencing row 10!
    Excel handles this issue seamlessly.
Any ideas? Is this a bug?

Numbers is not MS Excel, and MS Excel is not Numbers. Each application has features that are not supported by the other.
Not a bug, although it does appear to be a not-well-thought-out feature.
The issue is that once the $ is in the entry box, the whole "$1,000" is perceived (within that cell) as a text string. Any formula using one of the arithmetic operators will choke on text.
The second use of the $ sign is as the absolute reference operator. If it preceded a number equal to or smaller than the largest row number on the table, the combination will be interpreted in a formula as an absolute reference to that row, or to the cell in that row in the same column as the formula; whichever better fits the reference in that formula.
Either way, you're not going to get the result you want, and you are likely to get a syntax error message.
OTOH, in a cell where the fixed number has been entered as the result of an equation (eg. =1000), formatting the cell as currency will change the displayed value, but not the value as it appears in the entry box. Neither the $ sign nor the thousands separator (,) will appear, you will be able to append "+500" (without the quotes) to the end of the formula, and you will get the expected result ( $1,500) displayed in the cell. And, as the formula itself contains NO $, the issue of 10 being recognized as a row reference will not arise.
For my own use, I'd simply avoid the currency format except for summary cells. A column containing a list of numerical values (with two places after the decimal) is easily recognized as a list of currency amounts, even without to $ sign. The same list with the sign applied to every value is cluttered, and more difficult to read.
    Regards,
    Barry
PS: If you want this feature changed in a future edition of Numbers, your best route is to Provide Numbers Feedback, using the menu item of that name in the Application menu (in Numbers, the "Numbers" menu). The link will also take you to the feedback page.

  • Information required for all currency formats settings.

I need information in Web Dynpro Java for currency format.
currently I have following fields in application:-
    1.Wrbtr Amount in document currency
    2.Waers Currency Key
In local dictionary I could see Amount type as simple type in external representation I could see #,###.00## format.
This format has a problem with Yen currency that if ECC shows 1000.00 then Portal shows only 100.00.
Please let me know how dictionary works about pair of keys an values of above fields.
Please let me know solution of this problem.
Higher points will be rewarded for immediate solution and appericated also.

    Hallo Laxmikant,
to correctly format BigDecimal price values depending on a given currency YOU MUST apply structure binding:
    - define a dictionary structure with a currency field AND an amount field and relate the amount field to the currency field.
    - bind a context node to this structure so that the context attributes are created from the sturcture fields.
In this way the Java Dictionary Runtime will correctly format the decimal places for the amount depending on the given currency key (see ISO 4217). For the Jordanian Dollar JOD three decimal places are rendered, for the Japan Yen (JPY) zero.
Look at this [Table Tutorial|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/user-interface-technology/webdynpro/wd%20java/wdjava%20tutorials%207.0/web%20dynpro%20sample%20applications%20and%20tutorials.htm#46] which applies the sctructure binding and currency-formatting technique.
With your formatting pattern approach on simple type level you cannot adapt the formatting pattern for different currencies.
In NW CE 7.1 you can use the new CCTS-datatype Amount.

    Anatoli,
    Hello!
I don't know if my situation is the same as yours, but after a lot of head-scratching, forum searching and template rebuilding, I finally figured out my problem.
I had one column that no matter what I did kept appearing in Excel as text. I'd format it to Number in Excel and nothing. When trying to sum the column, Excel would not recognize any of the values as numbers. I even did the reformatting on the XML Word template to number, and the currency format that Adam mentions. Still no go. The $ and ',' appeared, but column still formatted as string.
I just finally noticed Adam's mention of the 2 extra spaces at the end of the numbers and sure enough mine was doing the same thing. Take out the 2 spaces and voila! Number!
Every time I redid my template in Word (07 and 03), I used the wizard. (Add-ins>Insert>Table>Wizard) walked through the steps, not really changing anything. Then I would preview and the spaces would be there. The column that I was having problems with was the last column of the table, which would get the text 'end G_ASSIGNED_CC' inserted in after the field name - separated by 2 spaces. Once I took out these two spaces, so the column now shows 'COSTend G_ASSIGNED_CC', it worked fine in Excel - all numbers.
Hope that helps someone out there as I was having a heck of a time finding anything (solutions anyway) on this.
    Thanks,
    Janel
