Current Usage of BIA

Dear BIA experts,
I would like to know the current usage of BIA in our system. I have seen in TREXADMIN tcode that there are some space utilzation parameters displayed like:
Summary tab:
Memory     XXX GB Phys-Avail, XX GB ( YY%) used
Shared Mem     XX MB assigned, X% used, XX MB free
Diskspace     XXX GB total, X% used, XXX GB free
Which one of this parameter indicates the correct utlization of BIA. In which of these parameters can we see the actual size of  infocube indexes available in BIA?
Also is there way to check the utlization of space in BIA for each infocube that is indexed in BIA.
Thanks,
Sandeep

Hello,
SAP note 917803 u2013 run the program ZZ_BIAMEMCONSUMPTION_BW3X As per SAP, the compression ratio (The cube size/BIA index size for the cube) would be around 5:1 and the utilization should be 50% only. This can give the approximate size of blade memory required when cube is planned to be added. You can use the program RSDDTREX_MEMORY_ESTIMATE for the memory estimate on BIA.It allows to combine/select all relevant Cubes, takes into account shared master data and takes into account compression on F- and E-fact tables.

  • How data usage is saved in Current usage / Data   ?

i like to know who does the data usage is saved under Current usage / Data   ?
for example at 3:15 shows i used 110 MB  and about 3:40 shows 5MB
is the 110MB usage  saved as one time use or tru out a x amount time ? and how does Verizon calculate the size of data and time the data was used .
    thank you

Hello there nosferatu2xlc! Thanks so much for using your Data Usage tool at My Verizon. I love that feature. I recommend any customer with a smartphone do the same as you are! The data usage is calculated at the close of connection. So the 110 mb that you show for 3:15 is all data reported to have been send/received by your phone for a browsing session that ended at 3:15. The same is true for the 5 mb later in the day.  We calculate data based on measurement of info we show transmitted by your phone on your line. I hope that helps!

  • By what time zone does Verizon use to log data usage?  When I checked my current usage, there is data used logged in at early morning times and I don't have anyone else who is up at these times.

By what time zone does Verizon use to log data usage?  When I checked my current usage, there is data used logged in at early morning times and I don't have anyone else who is up at these times.  I also have 1.8+ GB charged to my allowance that I don't understand at all how it is mine because the highest I've ever logged at any given time has been barely 0.5 GB.  I'm cruising along at .04-.07 GB and all of a sudden appears a 1.8+ GB deduction/usage and it makes me wonder what the ???? is going on.  Is Verizon posting fraudulent usage amounts just to drive up my usage so I have to buy more Gigs?

The time is not the time of actual use, but the time a tower reports the use. The data would have been used anytime prior to that time. Usually, but no always, the usage happened between the time prior and the time reported.
    For example:
    9:00 AM   1.23 MB
    7:05 AM   0.01 MB
    1:15 AM  350.03 MB
    8:00 PM   23.89 MB
This does not indicate 350 MB was used at 1:15 AM. It really tell you 350 MB was used sometime between 8:00 PM and 1:15 AM.
The times are local time zone as far as I can tell.

  • Why can I not see my current usage since my last bill?

I want to see what my current usage is since my last bill (I.e calls and texts) but when I try to do this in my account nothing shows up. Why is this?

    Hi,
Are your calls and texts unlimited? If so then unless you pay for itemised billing they will not show up under usage.
    Thanks,

  • Suggestion: View Current usage as an RSS feed

Im not sure how Technologically possible this would be... but i would be thinking it would be convienient to have the current Usage: Voice/Text messages Auto deliver to an RSS reader vs having to constantly log on to check it

I appreciate you taking the time to let us know your comments and suggestions. Verizon Wireless is always looking for ways to enhance our way of doing business to better meet the needs of our customers. Your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate department for review and consideration. • Data usage analysis page. Doesn't match current usage page?

    O.K. Here's what I'm going through.
Verizon tells me I'm way over my 5.0 limit. Right now I am close to 9GB.
So to check I click on usage, This is what I get.
Data Allowance Exceeded. Additional data usage will be billed at $10 per 1.000 GB. Current Overage = 3.950 GB
4.0 overages x $10 = $40.00 in overage fees. You may be able to avoid data overage charges by increasing your data allowance before 11/25/12 and requesting the change be backdated to the beginning of the current bill cycle.      5 GB of 5 GB
    +3   1.0  GB Overage Allowance    3.000 GB  / 3.0 GB
Data Usage can be measured in kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
      Data Usage Equivalent
    1,024 Kilobytes (KB) = 1 Megabyte (MB)  1,024 Megabytes (MB) = 1 Gigabyte (GB)
        +1   1.0  GB Overage Allowance    0.950 GB  / 1.0 GB
Data Usage can be measured in kilobytes, megabytes and gigabytes.
      My Usage:8.950, 9,164.800,   9,384,755.200
      Total Usage: 8.950,  9,164.800,  9,384,755.200
Next I click View Data Details.
I get 160 lines of mumbo jumbo. So then I go to analyze usage. And it tells me I'm not even close to 1GB! Whats up with that? So I read every single line and notice that the date is from Sept to October. I only joined up Oct. 25th. Shouldn't it show my current analysis from Oct 25th to now? How do I get this number.
Because within the first 3days of using verizon it said I was OVER my 5GB!
I only use FB, email and browse the web. Ebay and shopping channels. At the store they told me 5Gb is more than enough. What do I do? Somebody please help?

Yes I suppose it is. I have a 1gig netbook. The wireless card didn't work anymore ( or so verizon thinks so) So they upgraded me to a 4g wifi hotspot now sitting on my counter. This is the only computer in the house. And we live very rurally. (only reason why I went with this) I have 2 neighbor within 15 acres. And 160 acres behind my house. So I don't think someone is hacking in. Besides, I just got this. Not sure how someone could figure out within 1 day or so that I have one.
    THanks

  • Current Usage INCREASED with MacOS X 10.4.4?

Not quite sure if it's the cause or what, but I opened Hardware Monitor for the first time since upgrading and I noticed that my Quad is now drawing around an average of 15 A per core at idle... it used to be considerably lower at 8 or so...
Naturally, core temps are up too... they used to idle around 95 F but now are up to 103 or so... fan speeds seem to be unaffected?
Anyone else notice this? I don't know if I should be concerned about this but an increase in power consumption? Hmmm

I'm not sure exactly but Hardware Monitor displays voltage and current values. When idle and current is around 10A, the voltage is less than 2V per core. That seems about right. When using the cpu's hard, the current jumps (I believe) into the 30's.

  • RFC used to query customer credit limit and current usage

    Hi,
I have been asked to provide information about a customers credit limit and usage. I can see this information is in table KNKK but I cant find any suitable RFC (needs to be remotely enabled) to access this data.
Does anyone know where I can access this data?
    Cheers, Paul

    Have you checked fm
    CREDITCONTROL_READ_KNKK
Its normal fm may be you can write wrapper above this and make it as RFC

  • HT1805 Do you know if the Mobile Usage Current Period is the amount of time you have spent phoning people or the amount of time you have left of your allowance?

    Hi,
I'm a new iphone owner and have a limit of 200 mins to use making telephone calls per month. I'm just wondering if the amount of time recorded in the 'Current Usage' box on the Mobile Usage screen is the amount of talk time I've used in the month or the amount of time I have left?
    Thank you

As the phone has no way of knowing what your plan allowance is, it just shows how long you've been on calls. Keep in mind that not all calls are billable. My carrier doesn't count calls to customer service. So, if you had called customer service, it would show on the phone as usage but not on your bill as part of your allowance. Check to see if your carrier has an app in the App Store for tracking minutes. It will be much more accurate.

  • BIA recovery path for scenario not containing a backup

Hi, we are running a small BIA enviroment; 5 blades, 1 is a backup blade.
Environment is stable, it is running on revision 48.
We recently moved from having 2 backup blades to 1, by switching a backup blade to a master. This was necessary as we were running out of capacity.
Next step would be to trade in the last backup blade to a master; and add extra blades to appoint as backups.
Question is. In the case of having no backup blades; and one blade fails. What is required to get all the indexes in memory with the remaining blades (so -1). I understand that having less blades will result in performance loss; but I want to understand what the recovery path is.
Edited by: Paul Bartholomeusz on Jul 28, 2009 8:56 AM

    Hi Paul,
If you have no backup blade and the indizes are splitted over all your blades and one of your server fails than you must reindexing with your remaining blades to get back to normal operation.
But why you don´t run backup mode mutual? Ok SAP don´t recommend this backup mode because in some few cases you will get problems, but we run it since 1 year and I tested it with some cases and it works without problems (Rev. 49).
What for a memory consumption have your blades? over 50%? The performance loss depends on your current memory consumption. Please read [this thread for information about memory usage for BIA|;.
    Best regards,
    Jens

  • Why am I being charged data usage during the times my phone is not being used?

I got a notice on my phone that my number has used all of its allowed data usage for the month.  I looked at my current usage and seen that I was being charged for data usage during the times that I am not using my phone.  I figured it up and it adds up to be more than the amount that you say I am over.  Explain please.

Ok, what all should I turn off on my 5s and I should get any additional fees waived.  I just got this new phone about a week before Thanksgiving and never got a notice till it was full.  I have never went over before.  I also have never been told that I could be charged data even if I am not using my phone and I should make these changes to prevent this.
Also, the phone was 2 days late getting to me.  So in addition to any additional fees that I may occur from the overage I should get a credit for the delay in my phone being sent.  Oh, and it probably would have been longer had I not called to see where it was at, which the guy that helped me put in the order and was to follow up the next day with a phone call to let me know what the status was and never did.

  • Usage Controls

I have been a business customer of Verizon Wireless for many years. I also switched my wife over to Verizon about 18 months ago. We are now considering adding a phone for our 13 year old who is entering Jr High in the fall. Initially, we thought that we would be able to do this by adding a phone to our family plan and enabling the usage controls to manage his voice and text usage. Fortunately, I took the time to read the fine print on this $4.99 "service" as well as the nightmare experiences of many other customers before adding a new 2 year contract to our service and will NOT be adding a line to our account for any of our children until Verizon offers a more effective set of usage controls.
From reading the comments of other customers, it is very clear that we are not the only ones who consider the ability to regulate the phone usage of our kids to be a requirement. I have seen a lot of complaints about the shortcomings of the current usage controls, but I don't think I have seen anyone really lay out what they expect, so I will do so here.
As a responsible parent, this is what I expect the usage controls to allow me to do:
    1) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the number of minutes of phone usage. At minimum I would expect this to be a monthly amount, but a weekly or daily amount would be much better. By enforce, this means that that phone should AUTOMATICALLY stop allowing incoming or outgoing calls when the limit is reached - regardless of the plan or whether it is an in-network or out-of-network call. The only exceptions should be 911 and trusted numbers that we have added to the line. 20 or so trusted numbers should be sufficient. The current approach of notifying the account holder when the limit is reached but then allowing calls to continue is clearly designed only to enrich Verizon's pocketbook rather than allow parents any real control on the usage.
    2) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the number of text messages sent and/or received. As with the voice minutes, I would expect at minimum for this to be a monthly amount, but weekly or daily limits would be much better. Again, by enforce this means that the phone should AUTOMATICALLY stop allowing sending or receiving of text messages when the limit is reached - regardless of the plan or whether it is an in-network or out-of-network message. I should be able to control whether numbers on the trusted list are also trusted for text messages after the limit is reached.
    3) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the time of day when the phone is used for calls, text messages, and/or data. This schedule needs to be flexible enough to allow variations by day of the week and time of day. For example, a typical schedule might look like block all calls from 10pm-7am 7 days a week; block all calls from 9am-3pm M- F and block all calls from 6-7 pm M-F. By enforce, I mean that, all calls and or texts should be blocked during the restricted times - regardless of the plan or whether it is in-network or out-of-network. In addition, this includes dropping calls in progress when the restricted time is entered. Calls and or texts to and from trusted numbers should be excepted.
I am not a cellular network engineer, but I have worked with phones and phone networks long enough to be highly confident that these things can be accomplished with the current technology. In fact most of them are already available in one form or another to the carriers. For instance, Verizon has no problem in stopping a phone on a pre-paid plan from making or receiving calls or sending and receiving text messages when their allowance is reached. Nor do they have any problem in allowing that same phone to make or receive calls or send or receive text messages from Verizon wireless (i.e.. trusted numbers) even after the limit is reached.
My need here AS A PARENT is not only to ensure that my child is using their phone in a way that does not interfere with their education, growth and development, but also to help them learn to responsibly manage their usage.
My need here AS THE ACCOUNT OWNER is to ensure that my child does not engage in usage that will result in excessive charges and require me to terminate their use.
I would like it if these features were available at no additional charge, but I would not be opposed to paying a small (i.e.. less than $5) additional monthly fee to add them to selected lines.
I'm sure that there will be some individuals who will argue that I am trying to impose un-reasonable limits on how my children use 'their' phone. They are of course entitled to their opinion and may raise their children as they see fit so I won't waste my time arguing with them. I on the other hand do not choose to abdicate my responsibility as a parent and consider this to be a vital part of that responsibility. I consider this technology to be a valuable resource and wish to allow my children to use it to its maximum potential within the limits I, as their parent, believe are necessary for their safe growth and development.
I don't know how closely Verizon monitors these forums, but I hope they take note of my comments as I will NOT be adding a line to our plan for any of our kids until features that meet our requirements are in place. I would also hope that other parents - especially those who have been considering adding a line to their plan for their kids - would add their comments here. Perhaps if we make enough noise - both online and with our checkbooks -  someone at Verizon will wake up to the fact that we need some real usage controls.

    @Kevin
The new upgraded usage controls do just what you ask, go have a look. They added voice call stops last week.
so the time restrictions and limit controls will now function as you desired:
School’s Out: Verizon Wireless Offers Many Ways To Monitor And Control Kids’ Cell Phone Use
    Media Contact Info
    Tom
    {edited for privacy}
    06/16/2010
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The end of the school year means more time for vacationing students to send and receive text messages, surf the mobile Web, play mobile games and make calls on their cell phones. But, with a few easy tips and tools from Verizon Wireless, it doesn’t have to mean unexpected higher bills for their parents.
Monitor and track your family’s wireless usage – Don’t wait for your monthly statement to see how many messages your children are sending – check the numbers anytime through My Verizon. Available online and on Verizon Wireless handsets, My Verizon provides 24/7 access to all billing, payment and account-related information, including usage amounts.
Not near a computer or just want to get a quick idea of what your family’s usage has been? You can always get up-to-the-minute usage information on your phone by dialing #646 (or #MIN) [Send] to receive a free text message with current airtime usage.
Block it before they purchase it – Prevent potentially unwanted purchases of data products, including ringtones, ringback tones, games and applications, by putting a block on the account. Various blocks are available at no charge and can be set through My Verizon.
My Verizon is available to all Verizon Wireless customers at no cost. Find My Verizon online at www.verizonwireless.com/myverizon.
Verizon Wireless also offers Usage Controls to help parents manage and monitor different aspects of their children’s wireless use. Usage Controls are available on most handsets at a monthly cost of $4.99 per line.  Features include the ability to:
Set voice and messaging allowances – No need to exceed your plan minutes or texts just because your daughter likes to use her phone. Usage Allowances allow you to set limits for voice minutes and text messages that can be used during a billing cycle. If the limit is exceeded, the account owner will be notified.
Sign up to receive free text alerts when a family member nears or reaches their limit – You’ve set voice and messaging allowances for your kids; now make sure they don’t go over them. Receive a text alert before and when the limits are reached, so you can take action before any overage charges kick in.
Designate specific times of the day when family members can call, message or use data on their cell phones – While you’re at the office, you don’t want to waste time worrying that your son is using his phone all day. So don’t! Limit and control your child’s use of his cell phone during a certain time of day or day of week using Time Restrictions.
Create lists of blocked phone numbers to prevent unwanted calls and text messages from being sent or received – If a certain number becomes a problem, block it. Blocked Numbers in Usage Controls are phone numbers that are restricted from calling or messaging your child and from receiving calls and messages from your child at any time. You can also designate trusted numbers so calls and messages can get through to your child, and 911 will always work.
Customers can sign up for and update Usage Controls through My Verizon. For more information on Usage Controls, visit www.verizonwireless.com/usagecontrols.

  • Limit Memory usage on Exchange Store

I am looking to limit the Exchange Store. Our Exchange server contains all roles and is being installed to replace a current Exchange 2003 server. Currently all mail now flows through the
Ex2k10 server and 5 users have been moved to the new server. The server was installed roughly 45 days ago. The server has 16GB ram installed and runs Server 2012. Store.exe is taking 8GB and other services are beginning to have issues
and I would like to limit the amount of memory it uses. Since there are currently 5 users on the system I was going to limit the store process to 6GB with a minimum of 4GB which would theoretically leave 2GB free according to current usage. The issue I have
is the settings in ADSIEdit as outlined in several articles (example:
http://eightwone.com/2011/04/06/limiting-exchange-2010-sp1-database-cache/#comment-9125) do not exist in my current config? We have Exchange 2010 SP3 installed and all of the latest patches at least to 45 days ago. If necessary I will increase
the RAM in the future but IMHO the store should not currently need 8GB for 5 users

Came across sites recently where the information store process on an SBS 2011 box tends to take most of the available memory. In normal circumstances Exchange 2010 is designed to use as much memory as possible for performance optimization. As long as Exchange
2010 is running on it’s own, there’s no problem with that. The issues can arise in SBS 2011 environment, where there is SQL 2008 R2 installed alongside Exchange 2010 and SQL has similar optimization built in. As a result the performance of the system could
degrade by time and requires restart  of Exchange/SQL services or rebooting the whole system.
To avoid this problem, you can limit the amount of memory Exchange is using. Start by opening ADSIedit – either click Start -> ADSIedit.msc, or navigate to Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> ADSI Edit.
Right click the root of the tree view on the left and select Connect To. . .  On the Connection Settings screen select the Select a well known Naming Context option and from the drop down list choose the Configuration option.
Once connected to the Configuration Naming Context, navigate to the following item:
Configuration -> Services -> Microsoft Exchange -> ”Organization Name” -> Administrative Groups > ”Administrative Group” -> Servers -> ”Server Name” -> InformationStore
Right click Information Store and scroll down to msExchESEParamCacheSizeMax attribute and set the value according to your requirements.
Please note that Exchange 2007 works with 8kB pages and Exchnage 2010 works with 32kB pages. So if you want to limit the size of memory used to 4GB, you will need the following calculations:
    Exchange 2007: 4 GB = 4.194.304 KB / 8 KB => 524288
    Exchange 2010: 4 GB = 4.194.304 KB / 32 KB => 131072
If you have confirmed you have the correct numbers, you can click OK to save the settings and restart Microsoft Exchange Information Store service for the changes to take effect.
UPDATE: As it turns out, setting the msExchESEParamCacheSizeMax size only doesn’t seem to be sufficient. The limit has been actually applied only when the msExchESEParamCacheSizeMin size was set as well. In our
example the values would be set as follows:
    Exchange 2010:
    Min – 1GB: msExchESEParamCacheSizeMin = 32768
    Max – 4GB: msExchESEParamCacheSizeMax = 131072
    Exchange 2007:
    Min – 1GB: msExchESEParamCacheSizeMin = 131072
    Max – 4GB: msExchESEParamCacheSizeMax = 524288

  • How to track EM usage pattern in a fixed time interval?

    Hi, all.
I am trying to get an idea of how much EM our system is using at different time during the day in order to find out the EM usage pattern on the ECC6.0 system. From ST02, I only see the current usage and max usage. But there is no history on the EM usage. I checked st03 and came up empty too. Would you know if there is any other way to do that? I guess we can write a custom abap to do it and schedule the job in sm37. But it is probably because I don't know better.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan.

  • Picture/Video message in My Usage

Under "My current usage"... Picture and video messages are being missed alltogether... I have matched texts to the minute but picture/video messages sent to me are being missed entirely in the log for some reason...
Also under message type... Im not seing any "picture messages"

    Hi,
When you log into My Verizon, just above the meter showing your usage, click on View Usage.  Go down to Text Messages Used and click on View Messaging Details.  In the Usage Type, select Picture Messaging/Video Messaging.  There you will have all of your MMS picture and video messages sent and received for the billing cycle.  I hope this helps.
