Custom Data Entry Profie screen variant needed

hi All,
Our client was asking for making modification to the Order the columns currently being displayed for CAT2 trx.
Ex:
For profile 1, the client wants the column display in the following order:
Receiver WBS Element - Network - Actvity type - CO Area - Rec. CCtr
For Data entry profile 2, the client wants the column display in the following order, and doesn't want WBS Element to be displayed:
CO Area - Rec. CCtr - Network - Actvity type
I have searched if there are any screen variant options available, but not of much help. This is bit urgent, so awaiting your replies.

Thank you for responding. I am in 'Data Entry view' (CAT2 trx), and, I do see a small icon with 3bars on top right hand corner. When I click on it & on 'Administrator' button, I see the 'Position' column vaues grayed out. I have tried using SHD0 for CAT2, and it wont work either. However, it is working just fine for MIRO trx.
Q-1: Can you please guide which 'Authorization' under SU21 -> HR I shall check in order to be able to change the layout?.
Q-2: I also see in Pg. 58 in http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print46c/en/data/pdf/CATS/CATS.pdf, the other option listed as -> worklist [Extern]. Do you have any idea on how I can track through this option?.

Actual GI date mandatory using screen variant SHD0

Hello All,
I have a requirement to make the Actual GI Date as mandatory field in Vl01n.
I am using screen variant in SHD0
TRANSACTION CODE -- VL01N and
SCREEN VARIANT --- BUS2124_DEC_CREATE_1102
PROGRAM -
SAPMV50A
SCREEN ---1102
and click on change mode
This will lead to nex screen where you can find the Field ACTUAL GI DATE against which the field status are available
Check the REQUIRED field and save it.
Here comes the problem when i tested from SHD0 transcation the actual GI date is showing has mandatory field but when i Run VL01n Transaction Actual GI date is not showing has mandatory field. Could you please tell me what may be the problem?
or let me know if any other method to make the Actual GI date has mandatory field in Vl03n.

You should've created a transaction variant. (You can attach the screen variant to the trxn variant as well).
In SHD0 there is a tab "Standard Variant", there you've to enter the name of your transaction variant & activate it. This will bind the trxn variant with the trxn & everytime you run the trxn your trxn variant will be executed.

Error while saving general customer data....Help needed...!!!

I am testing peoplesoft 9.0 version for an upgrade project. When i try to save the general customer information using Home>Customer>generalinformation . i got the following error. *"Invalid parameter 1 for function currentrownumber (2.116) TABLENAME.FIELDNAME.savePostChange*"* . this is custom people code in a custom table. plz help me to solve this.

One reason could be that the blocks that you are trying to save are locked either through excel-addin or someone else might be updating the same combinations. I have encountered such issues earlier and got the same error. Check if there are any locks in essbase while you are saving the planning data.

How to change the caption in data entry selection screen??

using cats0009 i populated the data into wbs desc and a/a desc but
but i am not able to change the name(caption of additioanl field) as 'wbs description'. and A/A desciption.
can anyone please help me out how to do this...

You don't mean selection text do you? Can you be more specific?

When we track the SOAP message sent from MII to ME, it contains at the end 4 custom data values which do not need to be configured for the SAPMEINT.

Hello Kai,
They should not affect any further ME processes and you do not need to create them in Custom Data Maintenance - confirmations, scraps will work fine. I also don't think they are required at ECC side.

Creation Of Custom Transaction For RF enabled devices "mobile data entry"

i need some information, or some material or some example's for creating custom transactions that will invoke the standard good issue transaction of sap from the handled device using the RF , so can anybody give some reference which will help me in creating custom transaction for a RF enabled handled device, which will invoke the standard sap goods issue transaction( mb1a) ,, there are some LM-transaction which do goods issue from the RF enabled handled device, but in my case i want to do goods issue using reservation as my input, so can anybody guide me or send some reference material matching to my problem, i would really appreciate it..

Here are the steps.
1> Customization needs to be completed in SPRO. Logistics Execution -> Mobile Data entry section. Also compare entries with LM01 for understanding.
2> In the 'Define menu management', you can create dynamic menus. For Menu or transaction type, if you enter "1", a menu appears; if you enter "2", a transaction appears. Custom transactions can be created and assigned here.
Once that is done, when you execute LM01 you will see your custom transactions come up. Make sure that these are created keeping in mind the RF device screen size and limitations.

Windows 8 Pro tablet - Syclo screen layout not displayed properly data entry

We are working on the windows 8 pro tablet to test the standard
service manager 4.2 application
During the testing in windows 8 Pro tablets, when we want to enter any data in syclo screen with the help of tablet’s keyboard, the input
fields becomes so small that we are not able to enter the data.
Is there any configuration which can be done so that the screen isclearly visible when data entry is made in the syclo screen.
If anyone has faced similar issue please share how to over come this.

Command bars were deprecated and shouldn't be used any longer. Instead, you need to use the Fluent UI (aka Ribbon UI) instead. You can read more about the new UI in the following series of articles in MSDN:

As a workaround you can add a custom control to the context
menu with the getEnabled or getVisible callback which will be invoked before the context menu is shown.

How to create transaction or screen variant for custom tcode in module pool

I have one module pool program with custome tcode ,i want to create transaction or screen variant for this tcode.Next time when we run this tcode we need a variant for this tcode.
I tried by using of SHD0 but it is working only for standred tcodes.Is there any possibilty please help me.

Hi,
you created a Custom Tcode for ur module pool Pgm..if u execute the Tcode in the output screen give the input details and press Save Option then variant will be created. Then you can use that variant.
otherwise.. while creating a Tcode..
select an option for Tcode type Tranasction With variant ..there u will provide the variant for ur Tcode ( which is already created ).

Is there a date entry widget for XMP custom file info panels?

Looking through the Custom File Info Panels documentation, the samples, and the default info panels presented in Photoshop, I can't find any reference to a date entry widget - the closest I've seen is the date_static_text widget.
Is there any way to present an editable, validating date entry field to our end-users through the File Info panel?
(the info we're wanting to store is a release date so it's user-specified, and not derivable from the file in any way)

The PDF/A extension schema provides a big step to the self-sufficient functionality that you are asking about. It permits the XMP schema description information of custom XMP schemas to be embedded into the XMP as payload so that the file can be opened in years to come and the target metadata acurately interperted. Currently, PDF tools are active candidate to make use of this facility. However, there is nothing preventing future use with other file formats, and other tools (via plug-ins?).
It does not include vocabulary, static text, and panel presentation layout information.

JTable as a data entry screen

I am trying to use JTable for data entry. I assign few columns to contain
Integer class type and others with Float. Now, the problem that arise is
that Objects of Integer and Float are sub-classes class Number and JTable
has by default a Cell Editor defined to handle this Class type. The problem
arises only when a float type is handled. Floats which i use carry either a 3
decimals or 2 (basically quantity is represented in 3 decimals and amounts in
2 decimals). But for eg if i have a float 3456.78 i want that to displayed as
3456.780 and if 987.6 then 987.60. I can manipulate them in the required form
as a String but not as Number. (then its not right aligned). I have no clues how to do this and its very much important that i finish this asap.
Gurus out here please pour all the help you can .

You talked about editors, but it seems like you are able to edit just fine. It seems that displaying a previously edited Float is your real problem. If that is the case, you just need to add a specialized cell renderer for displaying your Float objects.
First create an implementation of TableCellRenderer (it's easy, there is only one method) that returns your Float object rendered correctly.
Then just add the following code:
TableCellRenderer renderer = new MyFloatRenderer().
table.setDefaultRenderer(Float.class, renderer);
From now on Integers will use the regular Number Cell Renderer and Floats will use your custom renderer.
If you have a problem with the editor also, the steps are similar.
Implement TableCellEditor (only one method again) then add the following code:
TableCellEditor editor = new MyFloatEditor();
table.setDefaultEditor(Float.class, editor);
Offer duke dollars next time, you'll probably get a more timely response.

The simplest method would be to create an Interactive Report page. Have a look at: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e13367/build_app.htm#insertedID4]. There is no special setup that you need to do to get the search functionality - it's all part of the Interactive Report.
If you wish to use a standard report, the search functionality would have to be created from scratch - this is possible to do but would require you to create individual page items for each field you want to allow searching on and you would also have to manually update the report's SQL statement to apply the filters. This is relatively easy to do, if that is what you require.

Hide CATS lines in data entry screen

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to keep certain approved CATS records in the data entry screen (transaction CAT2) from being displayed, while other approved records are still displayed? Suppose we have the customer field ZSTATUS to decide whether the line is to be displayed or not. So far I have been looking for a user exit where we can hide lines without physically removing them from the CATS database, without succes.

I tried, but if I change the contents of the lines I don't want to display in the enrich_table, CATS also inserts these changes in the CATS database.
I'm looking for some hide functionality only on display level, we want to keep the lines in the database for costing purposes later on.
I suppose I can delete certain lines from the internal table at the beginning of the CAT2 routine, but this would mean a modification to standard SAP.
