I am getting error when I declare custom infotype in "INFOTYPES" statement in my program, pl advise what attributes are misssing

the statement INFOTYPES can be declared if your porgram use an LDB.
If you need a table entry from a custom infotype you should use a code like this:
data: lw_custom_infotype type P9XXX .

You can try the same through custom program.
When you call the smart form you can pass the date in the data table and display it through payslip.

Custom Infotype length limitation

Hi,
I have a requirement to create a custom infotype in ECC 6.0 with a table control which can have a maximum of 50 line items. Something similar to basic pay infotype and PA0008. While going through the SAP documentation I found the below statement .
"A new infotype is limited to a maximum of 1000 positions. This restriction is due of the length of structure PRELP, which is used as a container during infotype processing."

In our implementation, each record of standard table PA0008 could go upto 1200 characters with a maximum of 40 line items in the table control. We never used more than 5 line items and never had any problem.
Since the custom table control can have upto 50 line items, each record of my custom table pa9xxxx could go upto 4000 characters and I'm concerned that if this is going to be an issue. Any suggestions in this regard please ?

HR ABAP : Custom Infotype updations through FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION

Hi All,
          Actually, I want to update the custom infotype 3 fields as per my user inputs. I am fetching the data from the PA table acoording to sy-datum falling in the begda, enda limitations. now I am changing the field with new values in the work area. And pass with the following data to the FM.
          But I am getting the error 'No data stored for 9008 in the selected period', eventhough it is already having a data in the database table. I had seen prvious therads, but could not get how they solved the issue.
Please provide the inpus for the following code.
          ( I had also passed the validity start and end from the database entry. at this moment it gets dumped at the statement

where tabname is proposed from t777d-ppnnn. which is a structure and having a value as P9008. If i change the value at debug point to PA9008. it works fine. is there anything extra i need to do to solve this issue? )

Error executing Custom Infotype..

An Invalid table name PA9001 is mentioned in the open SQL Statement.
Runtime Error:SAPSQL_INVALID_TABLENAME
Exception:CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SEMANTICS occoured in procedure READ_DATABASE but neither
handled locally nor declared in the RAISING clause of its signature.
Termination occoured in ABAP Program SAPFP50P- in "READ_DATABASE".
The main Program was "MP900100".
I did not do any modifications in the programming part.Even then I am getting the errors..

I had faced these issues before while creation of custom infotype. But I found later that its the incorrect authorizations which is not allowing the system to create the structures.
When you create an infotype, sap follows few steps to create various strcutures and table enties.
But due to insufficient authorizations, many of them are skipped. e.g. A functional person does not have authorization to create tables/ structures through SE11. I think this is the reason why the table PA9xxx is not created in your case.
Fix your authorizations, and recreate the custom infortype.

Custom infotype updation

I am working on custom infotype creation. In my requirement I have used table control concept where user enters multiple records and updates the custom infotype.
For a single PERNR,SUBTYPE, BEGDA and ENDDA I want to update multiple records into the infotype using table control concept.
Ex: PERNR : 25
      SUBTY: 2001
      BEGDA: 01/01/2001
      ENDDA: 12/31/2001
Here by using the function modules 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' or 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA' I am trying to update the custom infotype where sequence number need to be increamented automatically for duplicate entries but only one record is getting updated instead of multiple records.
I have maintained the time constraint as '3'.
Please let me know the procedure to update multiple records at a time into custom infotype.

In the custom infotype table, if their are duplicate then the sequence number field value will be created automatically for time constainst '3' but using the function module it is not creating the sequence number but using the modify statement it is working fine.
Ex: Modify PA9002 from table GT_PA9002.
Please let me know the solution for updating multiple records into a custom infotype.

Error for custom infotype in PPOME

Hello Experts,
I have created one custom OM infotype for object position.Now when i am trying to acccess that Infotype in PO13 it is working fine but when i am trying to acccess the custom infotype in PPOME it is giving a dump.
EERROR:
Error in the ABAP program "SAPLRHOMDETAIL_PP01" had to be terminated because it has come accross a statement which cannot be exceuted.
An exception occurred.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_ASSIGn_CAST_UNKNOWN_TYPE', was not caught in procedure "INIT_SUBSCREEN" "(FORM)" nor was it propagagted by raising clause exception.
The reason for the exception is :
The type "" dynamically specified with ASSIGN....CASTING TYPE is unknown.
Please guide me where i am doing mistake.

Doubt in Custom Infotype / Modulepool

I have some doubt in Module pool.
Wuld u plz check let me know on this.
Iam started creating the New Customized Infotype.
In that Infotype i have one name SHIFT. The field SHIFT is having F4 help pop-up.
Basing the F4 help pop-uping, i need to ful-fill and populate the next fields. ( Starttime and end time of Employee).
For that i need to write the Select query to fetch the data from table based on that F4 help data.
My doubt where i have to write the select statement i.e in PAI or PBO.
But the Break point is not going to perticular select statement based on the F4 help field.
wud u plz let me know whr i have to write the SELECT query.

you have to write the code in the event 'PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST'.
FIELD <filedname > MODULE <module name>.
<u>case 1: if you are not writing any select query.</u>
inside this module you can porbably make use of the function module RH_OBJID_REQUEST to get the desired search help..
<u>case 2: if you need to write select query.</u>
write the select query and get the data into an internal table.
use function module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to populate the F4.

Custom infotype with table

Hi Guyz,
i have to create a custom infotype with a table in it.i have created the PS structure (PM01)with fields a,b,c,d,e. i gave the infotype charac, techn attr, activated the PA table and P structure . In the lay out editor i created a table and put the fields a, b and c. i dragged the input/output field on the table and then dragged the text fileds above them. when i check the layout i get the following error in the flow logic.
Program MP988800 Screen 2000
The field P9888-ZA is not assigned to a loop. "LOOP............ENDLOOP" must
appear in "PBO" and "PAI"
can anyone tell me how and where should i write the code for the table to get activated. Thanks a lot.

Significance of classes in custom infotypes???

hello everyone,
i know that on creation of custom infotype a class will be created. i want to know the significance of the classes. if i change the name of the class will it effect any thing?? if i change the name of the class where all places should i change the name etc......??
and question2.
On creation of infotypes SAP generates standard code. in that i found that in PAI two sets of chain-endchain statements are there with the same fields. what will be the effect if i remove one set..
pls respond at the earliest .

Custom Infotypes and Change History

HR Gurus,
I am being told that with custom infotypes, we can not track change history.
THe scenario I have is that I need to be ableto capture Address Changes (Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State and Zip) and send a Delta for the changed address.
In my unique situation, I have been told that if Address Line 2 is deleted, than the change histiry can not capture the fact that it was deleted and all change history regarding its prior existnace will be deleted if the Address Line2 is removed.
I am not entirely sure=, but I wanted to ask you guys anyway if I woukd be able to track Change history.

Hi Feroz,
Do not believe everything you hear. You can view changed and deleted information from custom infotypes and fields.
First, I am not sure why you need a custom infotype for addresses when IT0006 is available to you. You can more easily create a custom subtype if the supplied ones do not meet your needs.
But for any PA infotype including custom infotypes, you can use the Logged Changes to infotype Data report (RPUAUD00). You have to set up the infotype to be logged in the IMG: Personnel Management --> Personnel Administration --> Tools --> Revision --> Set Up Change Document. In the first section, you list the infotypes you want to track changes for including your custom infotype. In the second step you list the fields you want to track. "*" means any change to any field. And in the third step you indicate whether the information is kept as a long term or short term document.
When you run the report, you can enter the infotype and period you want and the first list will be all changes to that infotype. Select one to view the details and you will see each field listed with the original data and the new data. If a field is deleted, it will appear blank in the new area, but you can still see the old entry in the previous data column.
Also, if an individual deletes a entry in an infotype by using Copy and enters in a new start date, the old record will be delimited, but still be available for viewing. Also, every infotype records who made changes and the date of the change.

Authorization Object: P_ORGXX - fields can be from a custom infotype ?

I need to create a customer-Specific Authorization Object, but the documentation states that we can use any of the fields in IT0001, and also customer-specific additionald fields. But we need to know if those additional fields can be from a custom infotype.
If it is not possible, we need to replicate the std P_ORGXX and the way it validates the field pa0001- SACHZ. But with fields from a custom infotype. Is there any way to do it?

Error while creating a query for my custom infotype

I have created a custom infotype with fields currency amount and currency field .
While I am creating a query for it its giving an error
Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221 Error when generating the report(see long text )
I tried to execute the standard program RPUMS40CCI but still I am facing same error .
I have also maintained table T777i for my infotype but still problem exists.

Error while editing an automaticlly populated record of a custom infotype

hi,
a query in HR ABAP.
i have created a custom Infotype to store the CTC details of an employee. this custom IT needs to get the records auto populated, when they are created in Infotype 0008.
i have used the exit. EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 inside which an include program is written :ZXPADU02
using this, the records made to get create automatically in the custom IT.
but when we try to modify or delete those records thru the tcode PA30,
it does not allow to do so and throws a standard error message. as below.
Specified subtype is invalid
Message no. PG088
please help me out to fix this issue.

the exact point of the std error is,
i do the folowing steps.
1)_ for auto creating a record in custom IT Pa**** , i goto transaction, PA30, create record in IT 0008 with a basic Pay., click on save.
on saving , the EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 is called where i ve written a Z inlcude Program, which inserts the record in custom IT PA****. this is successful.
2) when i try to change or delete the same record which i ve created as above, through the Tcode PA30 for custom IT, PA
****, i get the error.
