Custom Shopping Cart

What's involved in making a custom shopping cart?
I am currenlty using Zen-Cart, but I want to create some layouts and workflows that might be beyond what it can do.
Is there a good shopping cart that I can put inside my web app -- rather than doing it completely from scratch?
If I do it from scratch, how much work will it be?

Requirement 1: I need to be able to display a wheel in multiple categories. For instance, I should be able to see all the 22in. wheels, or all the chrome wheels, or all the wheels that look like they are not spinning when the car is going down the freeway, or all the wheels that fit a malibu, etc.
Requirement 2: If a user selects a 22 wheel, the shopper shoule be able to view and change the various other sizes and color options that go along with it. Currently, in Zen Cart, I have a wheel called the "The Bling". It comes in 22, 24, and 26 and it comes in chrome, gold and pewter. I have to have 6 different database entries for this wheel. I want to the user to pick "The Bling" from a list, then have it go to a description of the wheel. From the detail page, I want the user to choose the color and the size options. In Zen, the user wades through all 6 entries then picks the one they want. Also, the variables for each wheel are different. For instance my Bling Cruizer wheel has an option for whether it should remain stationary when it goes down the freeway.
Requirement 2: Accept credit card payments or Pay Pal.
Requirement 3: Need order status management
Requirement 4: Needs consistent look and feel. For example, if I use Pay Pal, then I my order status and payment pages will look like Pay Pal pages, rather than the rest of my site.
Requirement 5: Easy to work with and update.
Requirement 6: Minimal costs. Volusion.com or similiar hosting providers are not an option. They are too expensive for what I am doing.
I am currently using Zen Cart on HostGator.com with PHP. The look and feel isn't professional and its sort of slow. Not sure if it is slow, because of the host (hostgator.com) or it is slow because Zen Cart is slow. It also offers some things I don't need, like news letter management, download management, music sales, software sales, etc.
Basically, I want something that gives the user confidence that they are buying from well run store, is streamlined, and easy to maintain.
Dollars sales volume will be about $1000-$5000 per month. I expect about 1-5 sales per week.
Also, I am looking for a sanity test. What do other people do for low volume sites? What products do people use for low volume sites?
I have never done a shoppign cart site, so I'm just exploring what my options are. I have built a lot of web based and Swing based database driven applications, but they have all been for closed corporate networks.

  • Custom shopping cart button

    Hello,
Currently I have this form running:
    <form id="form1" method="post"
    action="product.php?id=<?php echo($_GET["id"]); ?>">
    <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<? echo
    $_GET["id"]; ?>" />
    <input type="submit" name="button" id="button" value="in
    winkelwagen"/>
    </form>
This creates a perfectly working button, but i want something
a little bit more apealing. I created an Image, but I have no idear
where to implement this in the current form. I tryed the following
    code:
    <form id="form1" method="post"
    action="product.php?id=<?php echo($_GET["id"]); ?>">
    <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<? echo
    $_GET["id"]; ?>" />
    <input type="submit"><img
    src="images/site/winkelwagen.jpg" width="200" height="28"
    /></input>
    </form>
But this just shows a cool button which does nothing...

    <form id="form1" method="post"
    action="product.php?id=<?php echo($_GET["id"]); ?>">
    <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<? echo
    $_GET["id"]; ?>" />
    <input type="image" src="images/submit.jpg" alt="Submit
    Button Image" />
    </form>
Google search term "submit buttom image code" easily found
    this code, mind you.

  • Print Shopping Cart Approvals

    Hi,
Currently our print shopping cart function only prints the main details of the shopping cart (vendor, lines, cost center, GL, etc.).  How can I include the Approvals and Notes for Approvals to be printed as well?
    Thanks,
    Gabe

    Hi,
There are 2 ways to include the data for internal note/approval notes in SC smartform.
1.You can modify the std smartform BBP_SC used for Shopping Cart in trasnsaction SMARTFORMS .
The smartform BBP_SC is hard-coded in include LBBP_SC_APPF54.
    2. If you need to use custom form, try to implement the badi BBP_CHANGE_SF_SC.

  • Problem in retrieving Archived Shopping Cart

    Current System: SRM 7.0 (SP05)
    Archived Documents: SRM 4.0 Documents
We are trying to retrieve some of the SRM 4.0 documents in our upgraded system (SRM 7.0). We have setup the "Advanced Search" of Employee Self Service, access object is good (BBP_FUNCT - READ_ARCH) and able to list the archived documents in the "Advanced Search" result list. When we click on the "Document number" (URL), another window popups for SC Professional Display, then the system throws exception in the popup stating "Object or set with GUID <object guid> does not exist".
When I check the system I can find the Object GUID in transaction SARI and looks good. Any inputs on this?
    Archiving Object: BBP_SC
Archive Infostructure: Z_BBP_SC (Custom Shopping Cart Infostructure).
    Thanks in advance...

  • How to use customer extension table for schedule line for shopping cart ?

    Dear Experts,
One of our client wants to have schedule lines in shopping cart item. I am thinking of using customer extension table at item level for shopping cart. Could you please help me on  how I should proceed with the appending the structures so that the end user can fill the shopping cart schedule line details?
Which fields should I consider in such cases?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi.
I guess you use SRM 7.0. Please go to IMG.

  • SRM 7.0 customer fields not saved in shopping cart

    Dear experts,
I have created 2 fields using the fields extension in the customizing and set the metadata for them to be displayed. The fields are visible on screen. However when data enteres, this data is not being saved in the Shopping cart document.
    Any clues?
Another question, which is a bit techno, is when i have extended the SC screen using the enhancement framework instead of using the standard extension options. i would have thought that by binding these fields to the standard header node with the custom fields as structure would have saved me the job of throwing data and fetching data from the table/bapi. This isn't working either. I reckon the problem will be related to issue #1 above.
    Regards
    Ali

    Hello Ali,
did you extend both the structure INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC and INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF? It should be useful to define a custom structure that contains your fields and append it to both the structure named above. Then re-check if the metadata structure has been enhanced properly (in your case, view /SAPSRM/V_MDF_IC).
    Hope this helps,
    Matteo
EDIT: I was assuming you were intended to add new fields at item level. If your task is to add fields @ header level, simply substitute HEADER to ITEM in the structure's name.

  • How to hide custom fields in Shopping cart depening on user role

    Hi,
We have some custom fields in shopping cart for basic view. Every thing works fine. Now client is asking to hide all the custom fields based on user role.
I found some function module to fund roles. now my main problem is unable to find the cusotm filed screen field name.
When I tryed to find the screen field name using BBPSC02/03, its giving 'GT_DISPLAY_100-FIELD'. If I try to use this field, its not working.
Could you pls tell me how to find custom screen filed name to hide in shopping cart.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
As Laurent suggested,to hide the custom fields based on the user role, you need to implement the logic in BADi "BBP_CUF_BADI_2".
You have the importing parameter IV_USER in this BADI.
Pass this parameter to tables AGR_USERS and AGR_USERT  to get the user role
    OR
    Use FM: BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL
with USERNAME= user id and can retrieve Table: ACTIVITYGROUPS Field:AGR_NAME
if you want the otherway around
you can also use FM: RSRA_USERS_OF_AGR_GET
with I_AGR_NAME= role and you can retieve Table: ACTIVITY_GROUPS_USERS Field: UNAME(usr Id)
Then check the value for the User role as obtained using the above steps and accordingly set the property for the custom fields to hide them.

    Deepti.

  • New Customer Field in Shopping Cart (SRM) with default value

We have requirement to add new Customer field in Shopping cart (SRM 4.0) and assign a default value to it.
We have added the custom field and also assigned default value 'X' to it using BADI BBP_CUF_BADI_2 method MODIFY_OUTPUT. Problem we are facing is in case user changes the value and unchecks the custom field then it gets overwritten by default value once the shopping cart is saved. We have followed steps mentioned in link below in order to add custom field and populate it.

  • Addition of custom field in shopping cart at item level- SRM 7.0

    Hi All
Can someone pls. let me know the step by step procedure for adding a custom field in the shopping cart at item level?
How is the field displayed in the portal screen and the settings for the same??
Also is this field available for manipulation through Business add-ins like other standard fields.
For e.g. I need to use the BADI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER to populate this new field.
Will it be available there once created?
    Thanks
    Kedar

    Hi Kedar
      Here are the steps....
    1. Create a Custom field in SRM and append it to SC table structures in SRM
    2. Add this field to the Custom field config for meta data at Item level in IMG>SRM Server> Cross application basic settings> Extensionsand and field control> Configure field control --> Configure control of fields at item level
    3. THen find the respective web dynpro application and component for the shopping cart portal UI screen where you want the field to appear. You can do this by right click on the screen area and then select More Field Help
    4. Go to SE 80 and enhance the respective webdynpro view by adding the custom field to the Context of the VIew and then adding it to the layout of the view at respective location. After doing this create a binding between the layout field and the context.....

  • Custom field in 'Notes and Attachment" tab of shopping cart

    Hi All,
I am working in SRM 7.0 classic scenario and i have requirement in which i need to add custom field in 'Notes and Attachment" tab of the shopping cart portal.
I have added those fields in structure --- INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF and INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC.
Also implemented the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI in while i am populating the custom field value.
I have created custom field as INPUT FIELD in webdynpro component /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_NA and view : V_DODC_MAIN_VIEW.
Now I can see the custom field value in table BBP_PDISC, but i am not getting the value in Shopping cart "Notes and Attachments" tab.( I am able to see the field but not the value of it).
The value is getting populated in ITEM DATA tab instead.
Please suggest if i am missing anything in the process and how to achieve this.
    Thank you in advance.
    Thanks,
    Satheesh

    Hi,
You have done everything.. well.. except that you did not set the attribute of the input field to this value.
When you have value u just need to bind it using set_attribute method of the element.
Use  ctr+f7 to generate the wizard .. select in set mode.. click on context and select the attribute that you have created in the context.
    Hope this helps.

    In badi BBP_CUF_BADI_2, method MODIFY_OUTPUT,
are you doing something like this?
    CASE IV_FIELDNAME.
      WHEN 'YOUR_CUSTOM_FIELD'.
        IF IV_VALUE IS INITIAL.
          MOVE 'YOUR_DEFAULT_VALUE' TO EV_VALUE.

  • Displaying Custom field in shopping cart header

Hi all, I know how to add a field to header and item levels of the shopping cart.
    - In the note 672960 it says 'Note that the header fields cannot be displayed for the shopping cart. If you define fields on the header, they can only be filled in BADIs.'
    However,
We are able to fill in the name of the shopping cart on the third step, which is also a part of header information. Is there a possibility to add a custom field(the user must be able to fill it) and display it in that screen???
