Custom wiki side bars not saving

Mountain lion client - lion server. Create a custom side bar in the about pane of settings and it never saves. Do I need to upgrade to ML server?

I have discovered you need to tab out of the "tag" box. Then it remembers.

Wiki Side bar

Hi.
I am trying to use the wiki as a basic intranet. I can do everything I need to at the moment except one thing. I want to use the custom side bar as a navigation to get through the different sections of the wiki/intranet. I have setup the main pages with tags and the custom side bar shows up those pages. The problem is it only shows up 5 entries, and I have about 8 pages I need to display.
Does any know if there is a way to make the custom sidebar display more than the default amount of entries?
Any help would be appreciated.

Ahh, OK. I'm not sure what your level of expertise is with the service. This will require some work. You need create your own Theme, and edit the menu sections of the theme.plist file within, then select that Theme for your wiki.
The themes are kept in...
/Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer/Themes/

Minor problem - side bars not extending to footer

Hi-
I created a page layout that includes two side bars on either side of the "body" area. Normally these have text in them and adjust in height based on what's contained in them. Well my design is one such that there is purposely no text included and it's just a rectangle extending vertically from header to footer. So in order to get it to look the way I wanted it to I had to set a specific height in pixels of 800px. Recently, I added a collage and some faux text as I am starting to work on this particular page. I noticed that the bottom has white space between the side bars (on either side of the body area) and the footer. I need the side bars to hit flush with the footer. (see other pages for what I mean). I can't figure out how to fix this. I know it's probably something fairly simple but would appreciate any help. I wonder if maybe by my specifying a certain height to these side bars that it'll mess up whenever I add content with a greater width than what's set (800px). Is there an easier way to do what I'm acheiving with the side bar and not hinder the look of the site when I add content?

Your layout is badly broken for me in Firefox but I didn't check it in all browsers. See screenshot.
Keep your Spry Menus and images. Simply replace the CSS Layout you're using now with something more suitable for your project goals (equal height columns).

Side bars not accessible FF 4.0b2 on Toshiba AC100 (Android 2.2)

Having now got FF installed, albeit not the latest beta, I have a couple of issues.
1. The AC100 does not have a touch screen, so the swipe left/right gestures on my HTC Desire, which bring the side bars on to the screen, can't be used.
2. Page navigation using arrow keys is not working.
3. Pressing the 'Menu' button brings up the 'Site Options' dialogue, instead of 'Site Options' + 'Preferences' + 'Add-ons' + 'Downloads'.

Does the AC100 have a mouse or trackpad? If so, you should be able to click and dragg to scroll the page and the sidebars. We haven't tested on this device, however.
The "Menu" button changed in later betas. It sounds like you have a very old version. You can download the latest APK file from http://bit.ly/fxmobilebeta if your device allows non-Market app installation.

When I click a bookmark it opens in the bookmark side bar, not in the main window.

Bookmarks that open in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website to add a bookmark for that site.
*Check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).
*In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.

Safari tool bar not saving

I just updated to Yosemite & every time I open Safari, I have to set it up again. I customize my tool bar, quit, & when I reopen it's not saved.

I have the same exact issue. I hope they issue a fix. I want my favorites bar visible at all times.

When i attach workflow to document library, the custom columns data is not saving.

Hi, i had created SharePoint designer workflow (send Email) for Document Library.
I had created Custom columns like.
"Employee Name" of type Person or Group
"Resume Type" of type Choice
When i attach my workflow to document library, the columns data is not saved.
It is just uploading resume, and sends email to the user groups, but data is not saved for custom columns. !.e "Employee Name" and "Resume Type".
Any help will be appreciated.

In SharePoint Document Library, first the document will be uploaded and then the metadata will be updated. So, in your workflow settings, select start workflow when item is changed instead of item is created and then try.

User defined custom Windows theme is not saved during roaming profile syncronization

Hi,
We have Windows 8.1 computers in a 2012 domain. The user profiles is roamed to a file server during logon and logoff.
We have excluded many folders under appdata\roaming and appdata\local and was also excluding \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes, but included this folder again in the roaming profile.
Our problem is that the users is saving a custom Windows theme, but when logging out and in again the settings is still there, but after a while the custom color settings set back to Windows defaults.
We are using VMware View 5.3 and are using non-persistent pools, this means that the users get a new "computer" every time they login and at logoff the computer is reset/revert to default snapshot and given to another user.
Therefore most of the settings under Local appdata and all localow appdata files and configurations is reset at logoff for users.
what is the required files/folders/registry keys to fully support custom Windows themes ? If we have that info we can include the necessary files in our user enviroment.
we have not found any userful info on the web for this specific issue.

In my opinion, you can try to create a new Default User Profile on this system and mondify its defualt theme as you want. Because everytime new user login, it would generate the new user profile based on Default User Profile.

Yes, I we have already made a custom theme on the image, but in this case we need to configure a special theme for one specific user during logon.

Custom Field values are not saved. when MPP imported from another instance.

Currently I am merging one small instance (I2) of PWA in our corporate instance(I1). as the corporate instance is huge, we are doing manual merge of groups, securities, users, custom fields etc. also downloading the MPP as xml from I2 and then planned
to publish from I1.
There are few project level custom fields which are being used in MPP. and those fields may have formulas too.
I created same custom field in crporate environment(I1) but while trying to open the projects in our corporate environment(I1), the project custom fields are gone.
Could you please guide me here, I am lost. I can not do a data base migration ans it would override all data from I1 instance so need to do it manually.

You may not be able to do this as the custom field GUID's are different in both the instance.
You may write a macro to copy the custom field data from one to another one

Black side bars--NOT widescreen

I know I've read about this a long time ago but have since forgotten it and I can't seem to dig up the answer in the archives so I ask for patience.
I just made a long-term loan of my now-unused Canon GL 1 to a friend who is doing some extensive video streaming and needed a better camera than the little consumer contraption he had been using.
He just called to ask why he was getting these thin black lines on the right and left of the frame in his QT movies were he hadn't gotten them with his old camera. I remembered this issue coming up in the distant past but couldn't rememeber what the issue was; mainly because I never had a problem with them as they outside the video-safe area and therefore never seen on anything I did when televised. Actually, I told him that I was surprised to hear he WASN'T getting them with his old camera.
What are these lines, why are these lines, and what can be done about them if anything? Again, this is a first-generation GL 1 so we're not talking about letterboxing or any kind of issue like that. This is straight 4:3 minidv footage. Also while we both have updated versions of most apps involved, this is an issue that went back to when I was using QT 5 and FCP 1.2.5 so it ain't anything like that.

"You will note on the full 720x480 firewire frames, there are two black bars at left and right on the image: 7 pixels wide on the left and 6 pixels wide on the right, so the active image area is only 707x480 pixels. These bars are in the "overscan" region of any normal TV or monitor and thus not visible on video; however, this means stills obtained via firewire must be cropped to remove them."
This seems to indicate that this "problem" is due to the design/manufacturing of the GL1 and is normal for the camera. If targeting the final file for play on a computer (or similar device) and this "defect" bothers you, would normally recommend a crop/scale action be included during the final compression.

My custom news settings are not saved. I have saved them many times to no avail.

When I choose my custom Google News items, eg. Cold Fusion, Rossi, UFO, etc. The next time I open the browser they are gone and the standard generic Google News pages are back.

Why would apple not automatically show the side bar in iTunes. Wasted 20 min trying to find out why my ipod was not showing up. Really really bad idea, Apple.

Why does the side bar not automatically show up when you first download apple iTunes? Really really bad design. It took 20 min to fine the setting that enable the side bar. ***? I could not access my iPod for 20 freakin min! Just show the **** side bar always! Maybe apple is too big and is starting to lose common sense.

Because Apple update iTunes to do it that way. Apple has not said why.

Firefox 4 will not let me keep my bookmarks listed on the side bar. I can open them there but once I click somewhere else they go away.

On previous Firefox versions I could display my bookmark folders down the left side of my screen and just leave them there, accessing saved bookmarks when I needed to. Now with FF4 I can open a vertical column of my bookmark folders by clicking on bookmarks in the navigation bar but this won't stay there; if I click elsewhere they disappear. I could put a bookmark toolbar on my screen but this takes up more vertical space. I have lots of horizontal space that's unused. How can I go back to the display of bookmarks in previous versions?

You can fix that by going to View -> Sidebar and click on Bookmarks.
Or you could simply use a shortcut

Photo stream added to side bar but not updating

I've added Photo Stream to the Finder Side Bar of OSX Mavericks through the Smart Folder Saved Search option.
However, the photo stream in the Finder Side Bar is not updating with new pictures taken from my iPhone.
Would anyone have a solution possibly to allow the photo stream to update and be shown in the Finder?

Hmmm... not sure about PC but I did have this same problem while syncing to my MAC... the cause was that my contacts sync was conflicting with other sync data... Once I changed settings for Mobile Me with contacts and address book it was resolved...
For PC... my only guess would be that a program that is told to sync contacts doesn't allow or is conflicting with the assigned photo you've set on iPhone...
