Customer PDC Solution

Hello,
Here in our project, we need to design Post Dated Cheques (PDC) through SAP. I did not find any standard functionality in SAP for handling PDCs.
We are designing it for two company codes.
First company code is in leasing operations. They give apartments on rent and receive advance PDCs against rent amount. We are implementing Flexible Real Estate (RE-FX) but still this module does not provide any standard solution for PDCs. Following should be the normal flow of accounting entries:
Scenario - There is a contract booked for 12 month (1st January to 31st December) with Rs. 60,000 PA. We will get 12 PDCs in advance for 12 months. Rent will be booked every month.
1. Booking Rent against the Contract - January
Customer A/c Dr. 5000
Rent Revenue Cr. 5000
2. PDCs received: (12 entries of Rs. 5000)
PDC on hand A/c Dr. 5000
Customer A/c Cr. 5000
3. Check (PDC) Deposit in the bank on due date:
Bank Incoming A/c Dr. 5000
PDC on Hand A/c Cr. 5000
4. Receipt of Bank Statement:
Bank Incoming A/c Dr. 5000
Main Bank A/c Cr. 5000
Challenges in posting the above four entries in SAP:
1. First entry for booking rent against the contract will be done in RE-FX module by running the contract. Please note that this will be posted every month in the life of the contract.
2. Second entry for recording PDCs needs to be posted in FI module. Challenge is that we can post incoming payment for the entire 12 cheques by clearing customer account as the rent is not booked in advance. We explored the option of using special GL indicator (debiting Special GL Recon Account and Crediting normal Recon a/c with the same customer), but the issue is how to post this entry against customer line item. Because PDCs are for Rs. 60,000 and the rent is not booked in advance.
Client has suggested to post the PDC on the respective posting date by keeping the period open of the required accounts. will it be a good practice keeping periods open for another year or so.
3. Client is asking us to develop a program for automating the third entry by which they just have to enter the bank account and then select open PDCs and post the entry. On my opinion, we can use "Check Deposit Transaction" for performing third entry. When I try this option, I found that we can not clear the Customer open item with Special GL Indicator.
4. If we can perform the first three entries, setting up bank recon statement will not be an issue.
In the second Company Code they are using Credit Management. In this company Customer Invoice will be booked with full amount and PDCs will be received in advance. We can use Special GL indicator here and set up "Check Deposit Transaction" However I am facing difficulty for clearing the customer account with Special GL.

Yes, you can continue your development by creating a patch in Customer Test tenant later on but better understand the advantages of creating patch in Partner tenant first. If you are still Ok, then go ahead for deployment.

    And then do some veritas pdc conversion to HPUX . And present the datafile to HPUX (target system).
    Is this supported by SAP? What is the impact if SAP say it is not supported method to do migration?
    I saw a document say it is not supported, but it is dated 2005.

    The first thing you should be aware of:
    If you do heterogeneous migrations you must have a certified migration consultant on-site, otherwise you loose support for problem occurring through the migration and for the target system (see http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ).
    The only "supported official" way is doing an R3load export and import.
    You can use other ways (e. g. also transportable tablespaces with Oracle 10g) but the responsibility of doing that is in the hand of the migration consultant.

  • Missing Features Issue for custom upgraded solutions

    I have restored SharePoint 2010 database for migration and upgraded all my custom solutions to SharePoint 2013 using visual studio 2013 and deployed it successfully on SP2013 environment, but when I run
    Test-SPContentDatabase command it is giving feature missing as well as Setup file missing errors for all custom upgraded solutions.
    Interestingly the SP2010 WSPs that I don't have code for and I want them to run in SP2010 mode works fine and does not appear in missing feature list once deployed to SP2013.
    I also have verified that the custom upgraded features and web parts are available for other test application in SharePoint 2013.
    can anyone help why the  Test-SPContentDatabase is giving Missing Feature error for upgraded custom solutions.

    I think it should be more feature driven. i.e. basic connectivity then simple switches - policy control etc then use a router.

  • Customs Warehouse solution for South Africa?

    Hello Experts,
    Is it possible to implement Customs Warehouse solution for country South Africa?
    Is it possible to do it without development and from standard GTS10.0 product?
    Customer also needs to generate Customs duty drawback for all Imports and Exports from South Africa. Is it possible?

    Hi Ethan,
    The CWH functionality is built around EU requirements, but probably the ZA requirements are very similar.  The problem will be in generating the associated Customs Declarations; there you will need development - either of the electronic messages or the traditional printed forms.  Neither of those are included in the standard GTS product.
    GTS supports IPR, but predominantly the "suspension" regime.  Drawback is not allowed in the EU these days, and GTS does not support it as standard.  It would be possible with non-standard developments, and the extent of those would somewhat depend on how the drawback is claimed.

  • Custom Azure solutions using ADFS and SPO permissions group for ACL?

    This is a stretch, but say we have a custom ASP.NET website in Azure we hope/plan to secure with ADFS. Possible somehow to use SPO Permission groups to manage those permissions?
    Basically what we are trying to do is move some custom functionality outside of SharePoint to Azure, but we would like SPO Permission groups to determine who can run those external solutions.

    I"m not sure what will happen with users creating directories. Generally if you use mkdir -p to create a new directory it will inherit the permissions of the parent folder.
    I'm not sure how finder will handle this. Maybe you can use automator to look for new directories and modify the permissions on them.

        I have created two key users (KEY_USER1 & KEY_USER2) as BPs (101 & 106)
        I have created One System Admin (ADMIN) as BPs (105)
        I have created two Message Processors (PROC1 & PROC2) as BPs (102 & 103)
        I have created one Org. as BPs 104.
    => OK
    6. iBase
       I have initially created the iBase from my solution => OK
       I try to assign the partner to the iBase component => First Problem : the system do not propose the System Admin & key user function when I go to Goto->Partner. Do I miss something ?
    7. Org Model
      I try to create my Org. model as follow :
      Service Desk (O)
             Team 1 (O)
                 Processor1 (S)
                     SDUser1 (BP)
                         PROC1 (U)
             Team 2 (O)
                 Processor2 (S)
                    SDUser2 (BP)
                         PROC2(U)
    => Second problem : it is said in the documentation and in some blogs on the sdn, that when we create the root org, and the subsequent org, the system will create and assign automatically the BPs. That doesn't work in my system. I do not understand why. So I have assigned directly the position conatining the Users Proc1 & Proc2 as BPs.
    8. Partner Determination
        Then I would like to assign automatically messages created by KEY_USER1 to PROC1 and messages created by KEY_USER2 to PROC2 depending on the user group they belong (or depending on the relationship they have with the messages processors).
        => Third Problem : I don't how to do it ! and i don't know what to do with the partner function Support Team.
    Could someone help me.

    I have activated the HR integration through :
    IMG->CRM->Master Data->Business Partner->Integration Business Partner-Organisation Management.
    And NOW the automatic creation of the BP is working !
    I'm still trying to solve the two other problems.

    I want to create a form on submiting, it should go throug a approval process. I know there is a approval cycle in portal, but for this we have to use the default page builder/navigator and allow users to keep modifing the items.
    I don't want to do that. All I need is a form with a work flow process. The data will be residing on a external schema.

  • Contact and Customer Management Solutions

    Hi,
    We have two small businesses and need a good way to manage our contacts, customers, and activities with them.... For PC there is ACT!, and it is supposed to be a great program. What would you recommend for Mac?
    I have also considered the possibility of learining to use Automator to help me accomplish the same sorts of things with the Mail & Address Book programs, in addition to the accounting software i use--QuickBooks. I think they could work together to accomplish some of this.
    I want to be able to record activities taken with each contact, take notes on each contact's profile, send emails to groups/individuals, create groups and sub-groups, (Like Vendors: Advertising, for example) use a calendar type feature, set reminders for emails/calls to contacts, etc....

    You can really do a lot of contacts with Address Book. Maybe consider .Mac because it could keep in sync all of the contacts if you choose to. It's great for printing the contacts as Contact sheets. Even export as PDF! It makes it simple to create labels.
    As for applications for Mac, because you don't want to go back to PCs, all I know of is QuickBooks. There are propably others, just can't think of them off of my head.

    Hello D;
    As mentioned in the previous answer - SOLAR02 is where you can generate the Configuration Guide (SOLAR01 to generage the BluePrint).
    My box is down right now - so I'll to respond from memory.  In Solar02, you simply click the matchcode within either the scenario or step.  Then a dialog box will appear with various processes or industry solutions.  You select the ones you need, and those will automatically generate the Scenario/Steps/etc.-> as well provide the config objects and other related transactions.  Some have a bonus of further documentation as well.  Once the "business repository" is updated, then you can select the top left menu path (sorry, don't know the name), and then select the Generate Configuration Guide.
    Follow through the messages -> and once the Word document is display (it will be blank) -> Run the Macro (with all capital letters). 
    This will take a moment to generate the document.
    I hope this helps - it's purely from memory.  Once my system is back up - I'll see if you still need assistance and I can guide you better.

  • Stolen Cookie (identity) in sso custom solution

    Hi all,
    I developed a custom sso solution using the pluggable idm framework (don’t ask me why I didn’t use oracle implementation, I have my reasons :) .
    It’s working fine. This is how it works. I have a token collector which checks for a specific cookie if the request doesn’t have it, the user is redirected to a login page where the user authenticates it’s self in order to create the cookie. Then is redirected to the original requested page. The token collector gets the cookie, the token asserter asserts the identity and we are all happy.
    The problem is when somebody intercepts the cookie and using another application injects the cookie in a request and redirects it to the application. He gains complete access with the stolen cookie because the token collector gets the valid cookie. The cookie is encrypted so no one can create it’s own cookie but against a stolen cookie I haven’t been able to do anything. Any suggestion ?

    if the cookie is appended to the URL, what about storing the same in the user session and then compare if the cookie in teh session matches the cookie in the request. This way they will have to steal the session too.

  • How to Protect your Custom Access Database Product - so that you can sell & distribute it?

    I'm looking for an update on this topic as I have been away from Access for a couple of years and have not kept up with the latest.
    Hopefully they have made it easier to design, develop, sell and distribute custom database solutions. So here goes...
    Question A:
    If one develops a custom database product with Access 2013 what is the current best way to...
    1 - Prevent it from being (too easily) copied
    2 - Prevent it from being (too easily) reverse engineered
    3 - Prividing a time limited free demo copy?
    4 - Providing a demo copy with limited functionality... like limiting the number of records in an important table, or whatever?
    5 - What have I left out of this list that should be considered for protecting ones investment in the development of the product? (other than copyright, of course.)
    Question B:
    What is the latest on being able to migrate an Access database to the cloud?
    1 - Entirely online
    2 - Part in the cloud and part on the users machine
    3 - And what about all that VBA code - is there no way to make that work in the cloud and/or on a web server... or does it all have to be tossed and all the coding redone?
    Question C:
    What are other alternatives solutions for selling your custom database application while protecting all your investment in developing it?
    1 - Write the front end in C++  (so that it is fully compiled) and the back end in ASP with MS SQL Server? (or alternative server side solutions)
    2 - Write the whole thing as a server side solution with browser interface?
    3 - Or what?

  • Getting error while trying to create a new customer in R12

    I am getting the following error on top of the web window when trying to create a new customer using Solution beacon - R12 instance. Below is my navigation
    OM Super User --> Customer --> Standard.
    And when the web screen opens and I click on 'Create' it gives the below 3 error message and not displaying the proper fields. Can someone help me how to fix this?
