Customization of Advanced Search Area

Hi All,
          There is a requirement in advanced search area of return orders.
          Based on the transaction type selected, corresponding status values has to be populated.
         Here im populating the transactio type values in the drop down list box and status value i have to populate in the value help/ drop down/ F4 application, but these status values should be populated based on the transaction type we have selected.

We are working on CRM 5.0 version, and i have done few things,here im listing out the steps.
1) For the Transaction type field i have enable the Roundtrip CS search option.
2) I have created a new ABAP structure for the transaction field(ZCS_Trans_Search).
3) I have appened this abap structure to the calling F4 application (Status F4 appln)
4) implementing the IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2FILL_F4_STRUCTURE and IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2CHECK ACTIVE_SHUFFLER methods, but still im not able to enter in to this methods in the debug mode.
These steps i have done with the ref to PCUI COOK BOOK 5.0 version, here im copying the steps given in PCUI 5.0
5.1.3.7 Context sensitive value help
The current complex value help is not fully context sensitive. It does not consider the information
the user has already entered on the screen, If it is present in different screen position or in different
line of a list than the field on which F4 is pressed. Thus, the value help often displays result set
which are not related in the current context. To make value help context sensitive following points
must be improved.
The complex value help must consider the entries of relevant fields on the calling
applications screen as search criteria.
The value help application should be enabled to set the value in the Search-Shuffler
depending on the current context.
The application should be enabled to dynamically disable the availability of the value help
icon for a field.
To implement this feature for any field in the field group following steps to be performed:
1. New field group customizing flag is added the by checking this enables context sensitive
search for a input field. Field group customizing is called Roundtrip CS Search.

2. Determine the fields to be transferred to the value help application from calling application
and create ABAP structure from this fields.This structure is called Context sensitive
screenstructure (CS structure). Assign this CS structure to the complex value help
application which is associated with the input field. This is done in:
Transaction crmc_blueprint
Open the node Application/Layout node
Edit the value help application
Enter the name of the structure in the filed Struct. For Context-Sensitive srch. Help
(F4_CS_STRUCTURE)
3. PC-UI FW takes the CS structure data from the calling application and defaults them in the
value help applications advance search screen structure. Include this CS structure to the
advanced screen structure of value help application to have the same fields of CS structure
and add the corresponding fields for the CS structure to field group of advance search.
4. Implement IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~FILL_F4_STRUCTURE in the calling
applications Model Access Class. In this method you fill the value in CS structure which will
be passed to the value help application.

5. Implement / or enhance if already implemented
IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~CHECK_ACTIVE_SHUFFLER in value help
applications MAC. This step is optional, With this you will be able to select the correct
shuffler based on the context sensitive data passed with new import parameters values to
this method.
IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL_2~ CHECK_ACTIVE_SHUFFLER.
Please do suggest me.. what are the things further i need to do..
REMEMBER: I have to do this implementation in the advance Search area.

Hi,
As I understand, you would like to have more than 5 property filter in Advanced Search web part.
According to this article, it is one of the limitation in OOTB Advanced Search web part: "The property search doesn’t allow the users to specify more than 5 property filters." As workaround, "Reuse the OOTB Advanced Search UI’s hidden controls
that determines the search attributes (ASB_PS_…)". Please refer more information via:

How can I get a LOV to work in the advanced search area

I am using JHeadstart 10.1.3.3.
We are doing a LOV lookup on User-id. When the user selects a user-id or just starts keying in a user-id I have my Jheadstart code to pull in the full-name whenever the client selects a new user-id or starts keying a userid.
Under UserId we have the following definition
PersonIdentitiesLOV
UserId <= UserId
FullName <= CombinedName
We set up PersonIdentitiesLOV so that "Use LOV for validation" is set to true.
When I tested my code, in the advanced search this is what happened:
1) When the client selects a user-id the FullName field gets populated
2) When the client just keys in the user-id then the FullName DOES NOT get populated.
Someone told me that there is a bug in JHeadstart in 10.1.3.3 where if you turn on the "Use LOV for validation" then it does not get executed in the Advanced Search.
How do I get around this problem.
If this does not work then how would it be best to display the full name whenever someone keys in a user-id. We are using this full name display for auditing purposes at the cashiers wicket whenever someone keys in a userid and does not recognize the person. We want the full name displayed along with userid for verification purposes.
Any idea on how to get this working?

This is not a bug, it is intended behavior.
In search fields you might want to search for parts of the name, using a wildcard, that's why the auto-complete is not working there.
If an end user wants to search the complete name, he can use the LOV to pick a value.

Help required to customize Simple/Advanced Search. Need to add new fields

Module: Oracle Sales Online
EBS version: 12.1.3
Jdev version: 10.1.3.3
Scenario:
- We are dealing with standard oracle pages.
- We have TWO "SIMPLE/ADVANCED SEARCH"s available. Each "Simple/Advanced Search" can be found by navigating through paths "A --> B" and "A --> B --> C --> D" . Here it means one "SIMPLE/ADVANCED SEARCH" page is available at page "B" and another "SIMPLE/ADVANCED SEARCH" is available at page "D".
- In the first search page which is at page "B", both Simple as well as Advanced search has a filter field "Win Probability %", of type VARCHAR2/DROPDOWN with values (10, >=10, <=30, 30, >=30, <=50, 50, >=50, <=70, 70, >=70, <=90, 90, 100)
- In second search page, referring to page "D", the Simple search DOESN'T have the "Win Probability %". And the Advanced Search page has the "Win Probability %" but it is of type - NUMBER/MessageTextInput type.
Issue/Requirement:
- The 2nd Simple/Advanced search pages need to have "WIN PROBABILITY %" field and it should be of VARCHAR2/DROPDOWN with values (10, >=10, <=30, 30, >=30, <=50, 50, >=50, <=70, 70, >=70, <=90, 90, 100) just like the way we had in 1st Simple/Advanced search.
Note:
- Again speaking we are dealing with standard oracle pages
- If you go to the "About this Page", interestingly I found:
i. The "message component layout" for both of them is from the same region , i.e., ASNOpptympSrchRN
ii. Rest of the search filters for both the searchs are from common View Object , i.e., OpptySearchVO1 (for Simple search), OpportunityDetailsVO1 (for advanced search)
iii. The "Stack layout" for both the search pages are same, i.e. XXMASOpptyQryCO
iv. None of the fields are rendered to false (everything is set to be rendered TRUE)

"XXMASOpptyQryCO is the name of stacklayout or CO?
What is the CO?
Does both pages share same CO?
have you already extended the CO "XXMASOpptyQryCO"?
what is the original CO then? I think in that CO it must be written somewhere, simple search "search allowed = false""
-Here CO what you are referring is a controller.
-FYI pages share same controller.
-And the original controller for both the pages are OpptyUwqCO. Right now its extended controller is XXMASOpptyQryCO
Fact is I didn't create this search page. It was built by some third party members. Also that I do not have the original source nor the documentation pertaining to it. So could you inform as in how should I navigate to the point "Search Allowed = True"
I should have informed that at "B" page, it has a region /oracle/apps/asn/opportunity/webui/ASNMgrOpptyQryRN and at page "D", the region is /oracle/apps/asn/opportunity/webui/ASNOpptyQryRN

Sales order Advance Search Area

Hi,
            In Advance area of sales order application, when i search for records of last week in the time frame, it will fetches the records properly in the ascending order.
            But is there a way to display the records in the descending order by default.
           however if i click on the transactionId then the records will sort in the descending order, but i need this functionality by default.
   Please suggest me how to achieve this functionaloity.

Hi Anil,
This is a standard functionality. By default the search would display the list in ascending order. If you would like to display it in descending order then you will have to click on the column header. The order will be descending.
By default if you want to display the records in descending then you will have to change the code.

Customize Advanced Search Options - Permission Set

I'm looking for a way to customize the Advanced Search Options on a per user (or permission set) basis, is there anyway to do that?
Idea here is we have multiple clients accessing our final cut server system and would like to customize their advanced searches to include only their metadata information and not other clients metadata information.

No, there is only one Asset Filter group. I'd like to see differentiation from the Subscription and Search Expired filters and the advanced search, and I placed a bug report to that end. You should do the same. Call it an "Enhancement".

Customizing the advanced search form (showing less parameters)

You could try to cpoy the HTML source of the advanced search
page, copy it in a HTML-portlet or dynamic page, and remove the
fields you don't want to show.
I had succes this way with the search portlet and add_groups
portlet, didn't try the advanced search page though.

Boolean Checkboxes in Advanced Search

Hi all,
I'm trying to use a checkbox in the "Advanced Search Area", but appearantly, you can't use a Java type 'Boolean' in the "Advanced Search Area". What's the reason for that? And is there a workaround?
If you make the checkbox any other type than 'Boolean', you need to specifiy a domain. But I don't want a domain, I just want it to pass on 'true' or 'false'. How can you pass a JSPX checkbox value (in the "Advanced Search Area") to a VO binding variable?

Textfields in advanced search from LOV non-editable

I have a LOV where the textfields in advanced search are always non-editable. When I look into the LOV JSP page, maxlength of the textfields is 0.
One of the textfields uses following attribute:
in EntityObject: attribute "Kuerzel", type "String" (database datatype VARCHAR2(10))
in ViewObject: attribute "DspKuerzel"
in the JHeadstart ADF BC Property Editor from EntityObject and ViewObject the Setting "maximum length" of the attribute is not set (no entry). Jheadstart help says that when maximum length is set to 0 then the corresponding textfield is non-editable. But here it is not set. Is there a solution to this problem?

If you send a testcase to [email protected] and rename extension .zip to .zipped we can investigate why the maximum length is not generated correctly in your situation.

Advanced search in ESS leave request scenario

Dear experts,
we want to use the leave request scenario for ESS. The employees should choose the ap-prover with the search help (or advanced search which pops up when the user clicked the symbol at the edge of the approver field). Is there any way to customize the advanced search so that the result only lists employees in a specific role and not all of them? Where can I see the code from the advanced search und where can I change this?

Customizing Advanced Search within Final Cut Server

I'm currently trying (and failing) to set customize the advanced search (ASSET_SEARCH) I'm trying to create a drop-down list of Countries for where the footage was shot (footage is sorted into folders by country in the finder)
I've created a new lookup (Unicode String) and added the various countries, e.g. Uganda (Uganda)
I then created a new metadata field in which i set the lookup values to Country (which i just created)
I then added this metadata field to ASSET_SEARCH and then restarted the program. The new search field appeared with all the values, but whenever I selected a country no assets were found. From having a read around I think I need to do something with a Metadata Map?? but have hit a bit of a wall.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

thanks for your response. The Country metadata field is included in the Group [ASSET_SEARCH] do I need to add it to another group? I wonder if the problem maybe that the word 'Uganda' is contained in the location(file path) but it doesn't actually 'equal' it.
Unfortunately when I go to select the country I only get the options [All, Equals, Not Equals] and not [contains], do you know if I can change this?? and do I need to Map the metadata field 'Country' to 'Location' so it knows where it should be looking??

* removing the cabo folder from the web root (public_html) before zipping it, it makes the zip much smaller
* renaming the .zip file to something like .zipped, otherwise our mail server will not process it
* including detailed steps to reproduce the problem.

Advanced Search (Ctrl+Shift+F) broken with Protected View = All Files Adobe Customization Wizard XI

I've updated Adobe Reader to version 11.0.09 and it was discovered that the Advanced Search (Ctrl+Shift+F) reports back errors on all words searched inside PDF document/
Reproduce:
1. Use Adobe Customization Wizard XI
2. Create a MST file for the Base Adobe Reader 11.0.0 MSI (AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi)
3. Under Security -> Protected View -> (Set to ALL FILES)
4. Save MST file
5. Install Adobe Reader XI using created MST File and then Install AdbeRdrUpd11009.msp
6. Open any PDF document and search for words using advanced search: (Ctrl+Shift+F) All searches return errors unable to display search.
The error can be reproduced and only occurs on Adobe Reader 11.0.09. None of the previous patches of Adobe had this issue.
The fix actually requires to remove and re-install Adobe Reader but with Protected View=OFF
Please can you confirm bug and report any solution or workaround so that Advanced Search works with Reader 11.0.09?

How to restrict columns in Advanced search which are known at runtime

I need your suggestions for one of my adf search usecase. I had Querypanel with table on UI...where in Viewobject has relations with 2 other tables and this Viewobject is based on Entity...now in advanced search for addfields i was getting all column names by default like 3 tables column names....instead of all columns i need to restrict to particular columns. This particular columns will be decided at runtime like how many columns needs to be shown and alias names for those particular columns. So could you please help me how to approach this requirement.

whatever you said is at designtime wherein we can uncheck the Queryable checkbox....but as i said at runtime from the application i can come to know whichever fields needs to be there and alias names for columns for add fields in Advanced search...

How to Dynamically add Search Criteria in Advance Search Region.

Hi All,
I want to understand how can we add Search Criteria dynamically in the Advance Search Region.
The Requirement is to add 4 additional search criteria for an org_id in a multi org structure. For other business those fields should not be visible.
I did try this with the form personalization but could not Show/hide the additional search criteria programatically for the business as we can only see 4 search criteria at the time of page load and other criteria comes in the drop down list to add which can not be show/hide after page load.
I thought of a solution to add search criterias dynamically for my org through extending controller.
I found the OAAdvanceSearchBean (advance search Region in controller) object for my Advance Search but could you tell me how can I add the Criteria Row in that Advance Search (createWebBean function) and then add the item in criteria Row dynamically.
Also please tell me how we can increase the showed criteria from default 4 to more, setDisplayedCriteriaCount(int) is not allowed and it is not working also.

Hi,
As Lars said The "Search Option Set" and the "Search Component Set" offer you quite some flexibility.
You can configure both of these component to customize your search.
Once you did it, you can create a new basic search iview and set these components.
On the other hand, you also customize the layout use to show result of search.
Dont'f forget that you need to configure Trex and create an index.
For instance, I configured the search criteria, the system only asked me some metadatas (created by us,whose value are dependents). Each time that you upload a document you set these attributes.
Then when you want to search, appear a screen with these values

City:
search field:
