Customized reporting in Crystal reports 2008

Hi guys,
I am using crystal reports 2008 and new to it. Can somebody tell me how can i provide customized reporting in this version? I want to give report design in end user's hand.
Can somebody help me on this?

Crystal Reports is fine for end users if they have any inclination for thinking logically and have a good knowledge of the underlying data.  In my experience, that's not always (ever?? :->) the case.
As an alternative, there have been recent (less than a month ago, IIRC) posts asking about how to have user-selectable columns in a report.  Search this forum for some possible suggestions on how to achieve this result.  In this scenario, you create the logic for the report, then there are one or more parameters where the user can select which columns they want to see.
HTH,
Carl

  • Crystal Report 2008 SP2 & InfoView: Custom XML Export doesnt work

    Hi,
    I have created a Crystal Report .rpt and want to use the custom xml export function to output a custom xml file. For that, I created a custom transformation file (xsl) and imported it into the .rpt . On the client machine, if I open the .rpt with Crystal Reports 2008 SP2, and select to export it using the custom xml output, all runs fine. (under SP1, only half the file was created...)
    If I upload the .rpt file to Infoview (server-side: BO Enterprise 3.1, SP2 as well) and schedule it, I can select xml, and then my custom xml as output format, but I am getting the error message u201EUngültige Exportoptionen" (="invalid export options"), in the instance history. No output file is created. I use file system as destination. Other output formats like .pdf and .rpt work fine and files are created.
    Ideas:
    -Are there any more settings needed on the server (e.g.CMC - Crystal Server Jobs, other Processes, ...) so I can schedule the report and successfully create the custom xml format file as output?
    -Do I need to upgrade to a specific SP or FP on server-side so everything runs smooth?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Florian,
    I'm having the same problem, have you by any chance found a solution?

  • Custom structure grouping in crystal report 2008

    I have a Product Line revenue report, where it is reporting revenue and cost for various oilfield divisions such as oilfield us, oilfield egypt, oilfield oman etc.... and total at the end.
    say if iam developing a custom structure for each division in a BEx query and the results of the queries have to be shown in one report.
    now the custom structure is coming down as a flat structure in crystal report 2008, so I added conditional formatting in X-position to indent, that shows as a hierarchy.
    I will do the same for all the divisions in the report.
    Can I make this each division as groups so I can add the drill-down to see a particular division by selecting that group, instead of scrolling thru pages. Please help!!
    Any suggestion with all that Iam doing to generate the P&L report is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Ingo,
    This is not hierarchy actually. It is actually BEx structure created in row section which replicating hierarchy levels. In BEx web application it provides the hierarchy look.
    But while using it in either WebI, crystal report or Voyager it gives us a flat column instead of hierachy. I have understood this.
    Using this flat column I am trying to create groups to replicate the hierachy structure. Please let me know if you want more explanation.
    Thanks

  • Customizing ActiveX Viewer for Crystal Reports 2008

    Here's the scenario.
       We have reports designed in Crystal Reports 2008, that are deployed on Business Objects 3.1 Infoview. All reports have Parameters for users to choose. All reports are expected to refresh on open.Some are dynamic some are standard static ones. There is an application developed in JAVA that is rendering these reports using the ActiveX viewer.
    The users are not comfortable with the way reports look in JAVA viewer. Hence the choices are either HTML viewer or ActiveX viewer.
    The application achieves this by making OpenDoc call to the report and using
    sViewer=actx
    as one of the parameters. Here's the issue that we run into. When users land on the parameter screen, the parameter screen alone Pops Up in a new window. Once all the parameter values are entered and the users clicks OK, the window vanishes and actual report is rendered in the original window.
    If we use HTML viewer by setting
    sViewer=html
    The report Parameter screen is rendered in the main window without popping up. However we do not wish to use HTML viewer because, some of the reports are linked to other reports with OpenDoc calls. i. e. Parent report calls child report with a OpenDoc call. In the HTML viewer, when you click on the link to child report, it opens in same window despite setting
    sWindow=new
    in that opendoc call. Thereby losing parent report and no way to navigate back to it. This problem does not happen in ActivX viewer.There it seems to obey the command to open in new window.
    Lastly you can recreate all this behavior by setting your viewer preferences in Info View settings.
    So, here's my questions.
    1. Should I use the .Net viewer instead of ActiveX Viewer ? If so, where can I find Syntax for the same ?
    2. Can someone point me to documentation on the ActiveX Viewer ? Specifically making it not to Pop Up the Parameter Screen ?
    3. Should the Java application use a different method other than Open Doc to cal the reports ? If so where can I get the details ?
    Apologies for the long post. I tried to anticipate most of the questions that may arise in your mind. Thanks in advance for the time invested.

    Thank you Adam for the help.
    I already have the Open Document document you mentioned. Can't seem to search for the KB article in Marketplace. No results found.
    Just to clarify, I do not want to avoid the Parameter screen. Its the fact that it Pops Up in ActiveX viewer is the issue. The only thing I want in ActiveX viewer is to make that screen appear in main window just like HTML viewer.
    I understand that there is no difference as far as opendoc is concerned between .Net or JAVA. I am looking for the SDK behind the viewers themselves.
    To my third question, your answer is what I was looking for. But need a bit clarification.

    > If you do not like the functionality that OpenDocument provides, you could use the SDK to view the reports, but you will likely run into the same issue as you are running into when using the html viewer.  The only workaround for that is to set a property on the viewer object in the SDK but it will affect all hyperlinks in the report not just a single one.
    By setting Property in SDK for the viewer Object, are you referring to Meta Tag encapsulation such as
    <a href= http://infoview.server.com/Infoview/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ABZR3Z&sIDType=CUID&&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y&sWindow=new>Report Title</a>
    May be I didn't get your point with setting property. I know there is documentation on Viewer SDK. I just can't seem to find it. I hope it would answer the questions.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Repository Explorer

    Hi,
    I am new to Crystal Reports 2008. I want to use Crystal Reports 2008 Repository.  My question is as it was done in Crystal Report 9 Professional edition that a crystal report developer can create a Repository while using Crystal Report 9 Professional edition without Crystal report Server, Is this also possible with Crystal Report 2008. If we only have Crystal Report 2008 designer or developer edition, can we create Repository's i.e.  Text Objects,  Images,  Custom Functions,  SQL  Commands etc without having Crystal Report 2008 Server, if yes please let me know the method.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks
    Vipin

    Hi,
    I was on web found this link
    http://www.crystalkeen.com/articles/crystalreports/repository.htm
    which says that:
    Crystal Reports: Repository
    A solid understanding of the repository can really improve the the efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of your reports. Hammerman and Associates offers classes on this very subject. We aren't going to cover all of it here, but will provide some highlights.
    Use the CR9 Repository for those commonly used objects
    The Crystal Reports 9.0 repository is a great place to store some commonly used items in your report. This includes text strings, images, SQL Commands (see next item) and Custom Formulas.
    The Repository is initially stored in an Access database and has an ODBC connection with the System DSN of u201CCrystal Repository.u201D But you can use any ODBC data source including a database in your network so you can all share the same common objects.
    Create a new database for the repository. We recommend you copy the existing MS-Access database, but you can start with an empty database. (The initial repository is Repository_en.mdb, stored in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin).
    Create an ODBC connection to the new database. The new database does not have to be an Access database. If you use your SQL Server or Oracle server then, by using server security you can control who can view and who can edit items in the repository.
    You next need to set Crystal Reports 9.0 to use this new Database connection. This control information is stored in an INI file and can be edited with any text editor such as NotePad. The INI file is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin\orMap.ini .
    There is a line in this file that saysu2026 Crystal Repository=Crystal Repository .
    Edit this to say Crystal Repository=New ODBC DSN.
    Is this also possible with Crystal Report 2008 designer/developer edition.
    Thanks

  • Dynamic Sorting on Multiple filed in Crystal report 2008

    Hi
      I am using Crystal report 2008 sp3 full build with hotfix 3.3 along with ASP.NET 2.0
      I have implimented the multi filed sorting using the record sort export and setting the sort order in the report designer.
    Now my requirement is such that i would like to have dynamic sorting on multiple fileds while report is displayed in the UI.
    Means suppose i have a report with Customer region,name,city,rating,status etc.
    Now by using the sort control  i would like to have the functionality in such a way that if user
    a)  first sorts on the region then the records should be first sorted by region
    b)  then sorts on the city then the records should be sorted first by region then by city
    c) now sorts on the  rating then the records should be sorted first by region ,second by city and then by rating
    Now other user may do
    a) first sorts on the rating then the records should be first sorted by rating
    b)  then sorts on the status then the records should be sorted first by rating then by status
    c) now user sorts on the  region then the records should be sorted first by rating,second by status and then by region
    and so on the sorting criteria changes from user to user through the UI.
    Is there any way to achieve the dynamic kind of sorting with Crytsal report 2008 where we can set the order of the fileds at sorting in UI dynamically .The sorting order of the fields are not known at the time of design of the report and its completely depends on the user's need.
    Please let me know if you require any information on the same.
    Regards,
    smitha

    Hello,
       Good Day!
       Thanks for your answer.
       Could you please explain me in detail how to achieve this functionality?
       Do i need to create a static parameter?
       I  get my data set through the command option in crystal report.So i think i need to go by formula in the report.
       i am just putting down the steps to follow.Please correct me if i am wrong.
      step1 :Create s static parameter with the name SORT.
    step2: create the formula as you have mentioned like
        (IF {?Sort}='Vendor Number' THEN {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.Vendor_Key}& " "& {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.ap_remt_key}
        & " " & {@date}
       else
        IF {?Sort}='Invoice Number' THEN {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.ap_vchr_invno}& " " & {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.Vendor_Key}&
        " " &{@date}
       else
       IF {?Sort}='Invoice Amount' THEN {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.ap_vchr_amtc}& " " & {Pr_Voucher_Status;1.Vendor_Key}&
         " " &{@date})
        I could not  understand what this formula is really doing .
        Could you please tell me what the following names indicates? :
                  Pr_Voucher_Status :- Table/Command name ??
                  Vendor Number,Invoice Number etc.. :-  ??
                 Vendor_Key,ap_vchr_invno,ap_vchr_amtc .. :-  Filed names ??
                 use of 1.{} :- ??
    step3: place the below formula in the page header  to display the sort order
        (if {?SORT}='Vendor Number' then "Vendor Number, Remit To, Invoice Date"
              else if {?SORT}='Invoice Number' then "Invoice Number, Vendor Number, Invoice Date"
              else if {?SORT}='Invoice Amount' then "Invoice Amount, Vendor Number, Invoice Date") .
    Note:-My report does not have grouping.Do i need to have grouping?
    in this case how the sort control will work  ?
    As i have mentioned in the first post the order of sorting is completely depends on the user's perspective .
    The report is used by the whole organization ..
    i mean the people with different roles like Manger,Team leads,modul leads,developers ,testers etc..
    the usage of report varies according to the roles so the sort order also.

  • Report and Field Explorer dont work in Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi
    I am using the following versions of Crystal Reports:
    Crystal Reports 2008  (Service Pack 1)
    CR Developer
    Version 12.1.0.892
    Product Type: Full
    Target environment: .NET 3.5 windows forms and asp.net application
    Since a couple of days, i can no longer access the field explorer nor the report exlorer. Anything else seems to be working fine. I first thought these windows were somewhere hidden behind another window but as much as i searched, i didnt succed in finding them :-(.  Our product has a valid licence and is registered, by the way.
    My question is now, what do i have to do to get my field/report explorer again. Maybe, installing the latest service pack had an influence, but i cannot tell for sure.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks in advance

  • PrintMode="ActiveX" & Crystal Reports 2008

    Using CR XI.5, we were having our users print crystal reports in our .NET web application using a CrystalReportViewer and setting the PrintMode="ActiveX".
    To do this, we had to add this to our Web.Config:
    <configSections><sectionGroup name="businessObjects"><sectionGroup name="crystalReports"><section name="reportMappings" type="CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportMappingHandler, CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=11.5.3700.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304, Custom=null"/></sectionGroup></sectionGroup></configSections>
    <businessObjects><crystalReports><reportMappings><add reportName="ClassLabels.rpt" path="Reports\ClassLabels.rpt"/><add reportName="ClassStarted.rpt" path="Reports\ClassStarted.rpt"/><add reportName="ClassStatus.rpt" path="Reports\ClassStatus.rpt"/><add reportName="inactivestudents.rpt" path="Reports\inactivestudents.rpt"/><add reportName="NewClassLabels.rpt" path="Reports\NewClassLabels.rpt"/></reportMappings></crystalReports></businessObjects>
    Since we upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 last night, we are getting errors in our app.  I tried upgrading the control Version number in the Web.Config, but I am getting an error saying it can't find CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportMappingHandler.
    An error occurred creating the configuration section handler for businessObjects/crystalReports/reportMappings: Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=12.0.1100.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    After removing the above code out of the web.config, I am getting an error when trying to print from IE that says
    IE Security Warning
    Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher.
    Name: PrintControl.cab
    Publisher: Unknown Publisher
    Any ideas?  I just created a brand new app with a new crystal report and was able to recreate the error.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    We are using Visual Studio 2008 actually.
    Like I mentioned, I created a brand new app with a brand new CR 2008 report and got the error as well so I don't believe the issue to be in the actual reports.
    I installed the CRRuntime_12_0_mlb.exe from a download last week of cr120_redist_install.zip.
    When I add the code below to my Web.Config, the app builds properly and the dialog boxes load properly on my local system.
    <configSections>
            <sectionGroup name="businessObjects">
                <sectionGroup name="crystalReports">
                    <section name="reportMappings" type="CrystalDecisions.Shared.ReportMappingHandler, CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/>
                </sectionGroup>
            </sectionGroup>
        </configSections>
        <businessObjects>
            <crystalReports>
                <reportMappings>
                    <add reportName="myreport.rpt" path="myreport.rpt"/>
                </reportMappings>
            </crystalReports>
        </businessObjects>
    But when I upload that code to my Windows 2003 server, I get the IE Script Error mentioned above.

    My only guess is that there is some configuration I am not doing on the server. Can someone help me?

    I think the frustration is coming more from the combination of lack of support for x64 (quite surprising for such an established product) combined with a site that's very difficult to navigate and use (the BusinessObjects site).
    We ourselves have also just invested a great deal of time in building some Crystal Reports for a pilot system for a large US Insurance Company and cannot choose to avoid a 64-bit target server.  We deploy at the end of next week and though we can compile deliberately for 32 bit as outlined in your post, this causes all sorts of other issues with other assemblies we are using that are not binary compiled for a specific platform and that we cannot ourselves recompile.
    To be concise, your posted solution is not really a solution unless a number of other assumptions are true that we all know in practical terms to be unrealistic for anything but the simplest of apps.
    For us, pulling Crystal at this point is embarassing for the customer (they specifically requested that we use it) and for Business Objects, and creates a deadline crunch in our project plan as we convert to Telerik or some other x64 solution.
    We will certainly follow up with phone support to see if there are other choices (doubtful), but given that you offer a trial version of Crystal 2008 I think it's remiss that there are no clear guidelines in a publicly-reachable forum that discuss in detail how to deploy completely to x64 including ensuring that other related issues to using a 32-bit compilation on x64 are mentioned/covered.  I certainly can see that even an advanced developer would continue to hold out hope that there is some configuration option combination that will work.
    Finally, can you provide any guidance on when Crystal Reports will catch up to Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008 and provide a 64-bit runtime?

  • Crystal Reports 2008 export to PDF does not render Japanese fonts

    Hello,
    I have searched the forums for this issue, and there does not seem to be a clear resolution to this problem.  We are using CR2008 to create RPT files that are bundled with our custom .NET 2005 application, which then generates reports in PDF format by running the RPT files against an access mdb database using the CR2008 runtime (our application is deployed on a different machine than the one that is used to create the RPT files).  The issue we are having occurs when data in the access mdb file contains Strings with Japanese characters.  The system that our application is running on does contain the eastern asian language fonts so if a user opens the mdb file using access, they can see the Unicode strings in the database rendered properly (rather than the usual boxes and garbage).  However, once our application generates the report filling in the rpt file with data from the mdb and exporting the report to pdf format, the entries that should contain Japanese font data, which leads me to believe the problem is in the export pdf function of the crystal reports 2008 runtime.  Is there anyway we can configure the runtime to properly embed the fonts in the PDF so that the users can view the Japanese content from the database.  Our users end up viewing reports on both OSX and Windows using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    Thank you very much in advance

    Thanks for the quick reply!
    1) Exact version of Crystal Reports. (Open Crystal Developer. Go to Help> About Crystal Reports).
    12.0.0.683
    Type: Full
    2) What happens if you export the report to PDF format from the standalone Crystal Reports Designer?
    Same result.  The entry shows up as giberish in the report designer preview...however, by doing this I stumbled upon something.  See below
    3) Are you able to export the report to other formats without any issue?
    See Note below
    NOTE:
    In another part of the report, I just put the fields in question directly in the report (that is, not embedded in a text object).  That part of the report when run produces the correct non-gibberish, properly rendered Japanese result (in the CR designer preview).  The same field, however, when embedded in a text object, results in the gibberish being shown in the designer preview as well.
    Now when I export this to PDF, that ends up turning both areas into the incorrect, gibberish result.  Both the one that did properly render in the preview (field not embedded in text object) and the one in the text object.
    Exporting to any other format (tried xls, rtf and html) results in correct rendering for the field not embedded in the text object and incorrect rendering for the field embedded in a text object.
    Hope this helps with the problem, and I think it means this thread probably still belongs under this current forum.
    Cheers

  • Crystal Report 2008 results "Password did not match error" in SQL Server Log

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop some crystal reports using Crystal Report 2008 SP4 to connect to SQL server 2008 through RDO (ODBC). My problem is that anytime Crystal Report is trying to establish a connection with SQL Server, first it tries to connect with the wrong password and results the following error message in SQL Server log:
    Login failed for user 'peyman'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 192.168.2.198]
    The login name 'peyman' is the right one as I have quoted the same in setting up ODBC System DSN using "SQL Server Native Client 10". But somehow Crystal Report is taking its chance and trying to connect before prompting me for the password. After this error logged to SQL server side, I can see Crystal Report pops up the prompt to enter DSN password. After supplying password to this prompt, Crystal Report works fine and pulls the data and renders the report without having any more incorrect password error logged to SQL Server.
    The attached file shows the step I am taking to regenerate the issue. I need this to be fixed as anytime uses any of these reports and tries to render it with crystal runtime engine the same error message raises in SQL Server side and logged in the log file.
    Thanks,

    Hi Peyman,
    This is the way it should work, In CR designer when you open the report it does nothing. As soon as you hit the Refresh button then CR tries to use the connection saved with the report. It assumes what is saved with the report is a valid server and connection info. CR simply tries to verify the server is still active.
    If you don't want it to fail in CRD then before opening any report Click the File, Log on Database option and connect. Now when refreshing reports it won't log the failed.
    In the SDK it does the same thing, it assumes the Server info is the same and does try to connect to verify the Server does exist. It only takes a few milli-seconds to do this
    To stop this from happening set the log on info first then it won't log the attempt to connect, it's checking to see if Trusted is allowed.

    Notice it doesn't try to connect first if I set the log on info first using code.
    So nothing we can do to stop SQL server from logging this info. Check with the DBA, possibly they can "filter" out the application attempts to connect or change your work flow in the app.
    If you have a Preview Button to view the report then simply add your Database log on info prompt there if Connectioninfo.Trusted is not true:
    mainSecureDB = rpt.Database.Tables[tableIndex].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity;
    if mainSecureDB = false then prompt the user for log on info and set accordingly, if it is true the it should not fail when it connects.
    This is simply a matter of changing your App work flow...
    Thanks

  • Crystal Reports 2008 - Error setting new datasource location

    Hi All,
    We are experiencing an issue while trying to set datasource location for our RM 3.0 reports in Crystal Reports 2008 designer. As per guide "SAP BusinessObjects Process Control 3.0 and Risk Management 3.0 - How to build and Personalize Custom Crystal Reports" (step 11), after opening the desire report we go to DataBase-->Set DataSource Location and when selecting our RM system (which actually has the BI content addon installed on it), we got the following error message:
    "Some tables could not be replaced, as no match was found in the new data source. Please verify the table required for any unmodified tables"
    I'm new on this so I'm not sure if the table indicated in the original datasource should exist in my DB (new datasource) before doing this? If so, how those tables are imported or created in our DB?
    Could you please help me on this issue?
    Please let me know if any other detail or data is required.
    Regards

    Hi Don,
    Thanks for the update.
    Actually I've installed SAP Integration Kit and its Fixpack in both....BOE Server (which is the same as the SAP server) and in client pc.  In all cases we have select a typical installation which supposes the required drivers are available. Also I've followed Ingo's documentation to activate and publish standard Risk Management reports (RM reports). Everything works ok with them. We are able to access reports through the application.
    The issue appears when trying to customize one of these standard reports through CR Designer. For example if we select the "GRRM_Risk_by_Risk_Category" and try to customize it as indicated in the "SAP BusinessObjects Process Control 3.0 and Risk Management 3.0 - How to build and Personalize Custom Crystal Reports"...the table behind this report (table GRFN_CY_API_GRRM_R1) it's not in our RM System. My main concern or question is regarding this....Did I miss something while importing transports files, activating or publishing RM reports, etc....and thatu2019s the reason why this (and any other) table is not already in my system? I was not able to find where those tables are supposed to be or how they should be imported in my system. The odd thing is...that we are trying to customize and set the new data source for these reports to the same system from where they are being opened. Put in this way...RM reports have been activated in system A (RM System) and published to system B (BOE System). While customizing reports through CR Designer...we are actually opening reports from system A. These reports have as their original data source...a demo SAP system info (uxcir1p.wdf.sap.corp) and when we want to update this data source with our RM system....the error appears. The whole process is explained in the above mentioned guide for your reference.
    Hope being clear enough..
    Thanks for your help

  • Crystal Reports 2008 can't access R/3 queries

    Hi there,
    My company is in the middle of SAP implementation and our go-live is in 2 months. We don't have a BW system in place and are (for the most part) using the Standard SAP Reports available out of the box to facilitate the requirements of the different business users. But as we all know, there are always some reports that require customization. So, for that we decided to use Crystal Report 2008 (ver. 12.3.0.601) to design custom reports while accessing data from the Standard SAP Tables. I am able to access the Standard SAP Tables in R/3 (built on Oracle database) and the fields in those tables from the Crystal Report 2008 Database Expert option and have created an A/R Aging Report successfully. However, while working on my second report (GL Journal Entry By Invoice#) I am struggling to maintain and improve the query execution time since I am accessing data from huge standard FI-CO tables (BSEG, BSID, BSAD). Our 3rd party implementation team has already designed a custom report in R/3 that is available in all the clients using the T-Code in NetWeaver for the end users but it's missing some fields that the end users would need for go-live and it's not possible to ask the 3rd party implementation team to make the needed changes to the already customized report (for whatever reasons). And, that's why, I am asked to customize this report in Crystal. I suspect the execution time is so bad in Crystal because of lack of filtering of the data when I am pointing at the huge Standard Tables. I would have added some SQL clause and filters to bring in only the required fields from the table into the Crystal environment but I don't have that option since the R/3 system is sitting on Oracle. I have couple questions:
    1) Would it be advantageous to build the custom Crystal Report on top the custom R/3 report that is already in place since in the R/3 report I can create a default variant with the conditions I want and it gets executed every time I call it in Crystal giving me only the data I am interested in? And, is it even possible?
    2)  Why am I not able to see the R/3 custom report from the Database Expert option even though the report is accessible from NetWeaver? I am able to access all the Standard SAP Tables from Database Expert in Crystal 2008.
    And I forgot to add, we don't have an ABAP expert in house to create ABAP function modules that might help me filter the data in the R/3 system.
    Is there any suggestions that will get the job done? Am I doing anything wrong here?
    Sorry for the long story but I wanted to give you guys a full background of the issue.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    No - this is not possible; you can only report in Crystal against ECC tables, ABAP functions, and SAP Query/Infosets

    ABAP Reports are not a datasource in Crystal

    Hello,
    Those are some big tables to be reporting against in Crystal
    Have you considered creating an InfoSet using logical database BRM (Financial Documents) that could then be used to report against Crystal?
    We do use Crystal / SAP Query against the logical database BRM as an InfoSet and so far we haven't seen the performance issues you are describing.
    Also, have you considered upgrading to Crystal Reports 2011?  Not sure that it would help the performance issues you are describing.

    Tammy
