Customizing time of DSM.Terminator pop-up window

Hello,
when doing a "log out" from the portal the pop-up window of the DSM Terminator Component appears.
On help.sap.com I found the following under the topic "Session Release Agent":
...To close the sessions, a small additional window is generated in the browser outside the visible screen area. This window is automatically closed after two seconds if the Transmission command has been processed...
BUT I did not find any parameters to change this beaviour.
My question is now where can I customize this period of two seconds? Or is it hard coded?
Or is it possible to place the pop-up window in the background, lets say "behind" the portal browser window?
Any other possibilities or ideas?

About your question: That was more or less a tough one But here comes the solution:
The value is set through the following code:

It's hardcoded within JS-Files, but this way you can edit it easily: To be found under \usr\sap\<ID>\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\portalapps\com.sap.portal.epcf.loader\script\[optimize|standard]\js1[?]_epcf.js

DSM Terminator Pop up Window

We are using SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0. When the end user clicks the log off link from the Portal page, a window pops up asking if the user was sure that he wanted to log off. If the user clicks "Yes", a DSM Terminator window pops up very quickly on the top right side of the portal page before the actual log off takes place.
How can i prevent the pop up of the DSM Terminator window so that it runs on the background?

I do not have an answer, but I have a clue. It's happening to someone at our site, and he sent me a screen shot. In the upper left corner is a small "closing sessions" message. The screen is supposed to be two or three inches wide and around an inch tall, but the DSM terminator message is what happens when that little window is maximized. I was able to reproduce it on my machine. Hit the Log Off button on the portal, and confirm the "Are you sure?" prompt. As soon as the "Closing sessions" screen appears, quickly maximize it. "DSM terminator" screen briefly appears. So the problem is NOT that the screen appears, but that it is staying maximized.

Firefox takes lot of time in opening a pop-up window

Firefox takes atleast 5-10mins in opening a pop-up window, when clicked on a link in a parent website. All these websites are completely trusted. Hello Chaitanya.
This kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
#run Firefox in safe-mode to disable all extensions and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
#update all extensions and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#disable all extensions and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. You should be certain that you WANT that plugin to be enabled, so keep your overall number of plugins as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic plugin, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all plugins (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all.
#enable one extension at a time. Again, be certain that you WANT that extension to be enabled, so keep your overall number of extensions as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic extension, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all your extensions (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all;

Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
#do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
#disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. Now, under the "Startup" tab, you can uncheck the software you don't want, and reboot your system for changes to take effect. If you're unsure of what software you want running, ask someone with more experience). If this doesn't fix your issues with Firefox, proceed;
#check your firewall/antivirus/security suite for enabled functions/features that you don't want and/or may be conflicting with Firefox. You'll find that these features are most likely tied to Internet Security features, such as link scanners or URL checkers and the like. If you're not sure they are conflicting with Firefox, simply try to disable them to see whether or not that's true. As long as you don't browse the web with your antivirus completely off and your firewall completely turned off, there should be no problems. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
#check your operating system security options, mainly advanced options that are not configured by default. While it's very unlikely that this may be the cause of the problem (after all, it's the last item on the list), it's remotely possible. If this doesn't work, proceed to the following point;
#clean up your OS registry, using appropriate software. If this doesn't do it, I'm out of ideas. Except make sure you've followed my instructions correctly.

DSM Terminator New Tab in IE 7

I understand that the DSM Terminator window on log off / browser close is necessary.
On Mozilla Firefox 3.04, the window is a small pop-up that is barely noticeable.
On Internet Explorer 7, the window is a new tab with full focus, which is distracting.
My questions are
How do I make IE7 display a small pop-up instead of a full tab with focus?
Is there an option in IE7 that doesn't give the new tab focus ?
How can I edit the look and feel of the dsm terminator pop-up window ?

A temporary workaround for this issue is
In IE 7,
Tools -> Internet Options -> Tabs Settings -> When a Pop-Up is Encountered
Set to Always open in a new window
or
Disable Always switch to new tabs when created

Adding text to javascript pop up window

I am opening a pop up windows with javascript from my Flash
movie that works fine. Each opening window has a video in it. Now
what I'd like to do is add text under/above the quick time movie
inside the pop up windows. I'm not very savvy with programming and
I've tried to look all over but can't find a simple direct answer,
so any help would be greatly appreciated.

An html document is an html document. If you create a
document that has a line of text, then the QT movie, and then
another line of text, you have the basic layout of the movie. If
you just open this document in a browser, it will work as a normal

Reg: Avoid DSM Terminator popup window in the Portal 7.0

Hello All,
Iam using EP 7.0 SP19. I used Lightweight desktop for the user and assigned default home role. I am getting a popup window in the right top corner with the message as below "Closing Session". I checked that using HTTP Watch, its loading the DSM Terminator Component. How to avoid the popup window ?
It will appear while I am clicking the role and also Logoff. Once whole page refresh means, popup will appeared.
Please help me for this.

Safari will not open. Every time I click it, an error window pops up.

I just statred Flash CC for the first time and it seems that the text within the pop-up window (dialog box) is mis-aligned and not allowing me access to the command buttons, nor all the text. (ie: the NEW Template Box, can't see but 2/3 of the content)

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....
Where do Your material come from
• Camera
• External hard disk
• USB-memory
And all are connected so that iMovie can find it ?

How can I fix the problem of a pop up window that appears every time firefix loads titled [Javascript Application] and says "balance.balance is undefined"

The small "[Javascript Application] and balance.balance is undefined" pop up window is followed by a pop up that shows a caution sign and the number 3. They repeatedly pop back up when I click on the OK button or X, I must click them 10 times before they go away. Then Firefox seems to run normally until I exit and try to return later to Firefox.
I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it with no effect. I have also run any troubleshooter that seemed to remotely refer to this problem with no effect.
This does not happen when I load Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Except for this problem, I much prefer Firefox over either one.

We have our company internal application which is protected by SiteMinder. When we type https://appname.domain.com in IE i get popup window asking me to enter uid/pwd and works fine. However same URL when i login in FireFox, i get pop up window two times. So i wonder why FF is asking two times instead of just only once.

First time data is not transported to pop up window through event handler

Hi all,
I am using NWDS 7.0, Now I want to open a pop up on click of a action link.
There are two DCs DC-A and DC-B.
I am calling action from DC-A to DC-B. DC-B contains view of pop up window.
In DC-A I am using intreface controller of DC-B by using used coponents.
Now In the DC-B used components I have created one fireplugin which is connected ith pop up view of DC-B and that firplugin is called from DC-A action to transport data from Dc-A to DC-B.
Problem : when I click first time to open pop-up window then event handler is not called but the windows opened. When I close that window and again open the transported data start displaying on pop up window.
So can you please help me that why first time data is not transported to pop up window.

You'll need to use an OARawTextBean. Oracle doesn't support opening links in new windows using OAFormattedTextBean. Just be aware that you'll need to set the CSS class in the HTML as well if you need it formatted a certain way.

(Legitimate) Pop up Windows every time Firefox starts

So, lately each time I fire up Firefox, the new browsing session recovers pop up windows from previous sessions (from the last time or even some from like, three days ago) I have long closed down. My start up option has always been "Show my windows and tabs from last time" which used to do exactly that: recover tabs I had opened or start with a new blank tab in case I had none opened. Now though, each time I open FIrefox I am getting various windows from previous session(s).
The catch here is that this doesn't APPEAR to be a malware issue since I am not getting weird ad/dodgy windows but "legitimate" pop ups I remember I have personally triggered i.e a picture or frame from a trusted site which opened into a new window or a help section from amazon.com etc.
This is a first and as you can imagine it has become really annoying. I am using Firefox 25.0.1.

Yeah, it seems it's a case of firefox not shutting down properly since the problem appeared ever since I've begun closing down firefox by ending the process (mind you, with a cmd shortcut icon even) in an attempt to efficiently escape from the never-ending flash player script hangs/crashes (disabling hardware acceleration or reinstalling flash player doesn't help).
Deleting all the sessionstore ... files solved the pop up windows issue.
