CVI in CRM 7.0 and ECC 6.0 IS-A VMS

Hi experts
I'm seeking for techinical advise on solution for CVI (Customer-Vendor Integration) in the given landscape.
Refering to an excellent article from Mitchell Faiman (SAP) in CRM Expert and SAP help for CRM 6.0, we've done all the needfuls to set up but still has some issues.
We're implementing a landscape with CRM 7.0, ECC 6.0 EhP4, NW EhP1, and IS-A-VMS (Vehicle Managmeent System). One of the key requirements is keeping BP master data clean and consistent across the landscape, including having the same ID, and having a mechanism to keep any changes reflected across the chain regardless of the change being made in CRM or ECC. In VMS, there is a requirement to have end-customer created as BP (role VLC001), as well as being a customer (KNA1) for SD Sales transaction and vendor (LFA1) for kickback payment in ECC. This is where we thought of CVI as the ideal solution. The ideal flow for us would be to have BP created in CRM (role CRM000), then via MW object BUPA_MAIN creates BP in ECC (hoping to find a way to default the role to VLC001 here as well, but that's another issue), and then with CVI, consequently creates a customer and vendor record, and extend ECC-BP with the FLCU00/FLCU01/FLVN00/FLVN01 in the process. (Flow diagram: CRM-BP -> ECC-BP -> ECC-KNA1 & ECC-LFA1)
Once I've gone through the setup as mentioned in the article and SAP Help, I then proceeded to create BP in CRM only to find an error in the outbound queue in CRM reporting a syntax error in ECC program SAPLSFP_CRM. It turns out that there is a missing structure in ECC table which has not been activated (Actual error message is "The data object ES_FKKVKP does not have a component called ZAHKOND_SC" . We found out that this structure is related to FI-CAX (that explains the use of function module FSL_BUPA_MAIN_INBOUND instead of COM_BUPA_MAIN_INBOUND in Faiman's article).
The problem is, we simply cannot activate FI-CAX as that is considered another IS solution/business function, and according to SAP notes, only one IS solution can be activated per environment (we already have IS-A-VMS). That's a brick wall for us, and I wonder if there is anything we can do to overcome this.
Obviously I have created an OSS note to SAP and has been in touch with the support consultant, who have advised on the restriction as mentioned, but no further solution is recommended just yet.
A few questions here:
1) Can you validate our understanding of the CVI concept and the flow?
2) Will the slight change to the flow to rather create BP in ECC, then via CVI create KNA1 and LFA1, and consequently via MW object CUSTOMER_MAIN create BP in CRM work? If not, any solution to this at all?
I would appreciate your valuable feedback and a proper solution that solves our issue will be awarded with points (as always).
Thank you

Just an update.
SAP got back to me after a few dialogue to confirm that the function i was intending to use (CVI via FSL) is part of FI-CA, and is considered another IS function. However, since we already have IS-A installed (switched ON), it is not possible to activate such function in the same instance as the general rule from SAP is that no more than one IS is activated in one SAP instance.
I did not quite understand this restriction though, and wondering how automotive company who sells cars as well as act as a financial leasing company would live within the SAP environment.
We've resorted to enhancement solution (one-way activation), which is only half a solution we expect CVI & CRM MW should be able to offer.

  • Trying to connect the CRM 7.0 and ECC 6.0 (RFC ?)

    Hello Gurus,
I am trying to connect the CRM 7.0 server to ECC 6.0 server. Can anybody please give me a step by step procedure for this please. Thanks in advance.
    Phani KV

    Hi Phani,
I assume that you do not want to actually use a direct RFC but the CRM Middleware. In order to do this you find lots of helpful information in the best practices, there the basic building blocks. Best practices you can download from the service market place. Alternatively you could google http://www.google.com/search?q=crmconnectivitybestpracticesite%3Asap.com

  • Locking issue SAP CRM 4.0 and SAP R/3 ECC 5.0

Hi all, I have a problem that I would like to share before creating any OSS message. I have connected our CRM 4.0 environment to our new SAP R/3 ECC 5.0 environment and am faced with a strange problem. All middleware settings seem to be correct, business partners, products, pricing and all are replicated correctly. However when I create a sales document in CRM it gets replicated to R/3 correctly but it remains locked by my RFC user, preventing me from making changes to the replicated document. The BDoc status remains 'in process' and for some reason the lock is not being removed. Does anyone have seen a similar situation and how was it solved? Thanks, Tiest.

    Tiest,
This problem may not only be applicable for the combination of CRM 4.0 and ECC 5.0, but for other combinations of CRM and R/3 backend systems as well.
I've bee facing the same problems with CRM 4.0 and R/3 4.70
First check your inbound and outbound queues in both CRM and ECC (Tcode SMQ1 and SMQ2). If no queues are 'hanging', then check the status of your BDoc's.
There are some good OSS notes that help you on these problems.
    Hope this helps you...

  • Options for loading data from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC

    Hello All,
    I am new to SAP.
As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)
I know I am asking for lot of things here. But, I really appreciate any information reagrding this.
    Thanks,
    Balu

    Hi
Data Migration(Conversions) mainly involves the following Major Steps
    Discovery->Extract->Cleanse->Transform->Load
Discovery-> Involves identifying various source systems available where the actual data is residing.
Extract->Extract the data from the source systems(legacy systems)
Cleanse->Cleanse the data by enriching it,De-duplications etc
Transform->Transform the data into SAP Loadable format
Load->Upload the data into SAP Using the Load Programs(Eg,BDC,LSMW,Data Transfer Workbench,BAPIs etc)

  • CRM and ECC  6.0

    Hi Gurus,
Can any one tell me the difference in functionalities between crm and ecc 6.0?
Or ecc6.0 is integrated with crm?
What all functionalities of crm can be configured through ecc 6.0?
Whether we require a seperate crm system like the R/3 4.7 and connect it through the middleware
    Please suggest at the earliest
    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
This question could have saved us all this efforts
Btw, opportunity management is used to capture the potential customers info. It helps to capture the buying pattern, the source from which this opportunity is captured, the probability of winning the order. Also we can maintain the various stages of Oppoprtunity and the activities that need to be performed in each phase. You can also maintain the competitor info in opportunity.
Also if you are using PCUI, the opportunity created in CRM5.0 using PCUI can be created as Sales Quotation in ECC.
The opportunity is not replicated in ECC otherwise.
The opportunity can be then followed up by sales order which can then be replicated into ECC.
More info is available on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/5b/60c565c63d5a4d8200472b6008eb92/frameset.htm
    Hope this will help

  • Need to install CRM and ECC in same server

    Hi Experts,
I want to install CRM and ECC server in a single server. (Win2003/MS SQL server)
I think we need more space (Sizing).
Apart from this, i have couple fo questions in my mind..
1,Which server should i install first.?
2,Does it use the same Database for both servers (CRM and ECC) installation?
3,I know that SID is differ for both server, does it use the same kernel for Both.
4, What are the dependent and independent files ?
5, How the database wil behave when i stop/start one server ?
Could someone help me the stpes.
    Thanks and regards
    Thirumal

1,Which server should i install first.?
Doesn't make any difference... you can start with either of them
2,Does it use the same Database for both servers (CRM and ECC) installation?
Yes, It will create separate instances on the DB.
3,I know that SID is differ for both server, does it use the same kernel for Both.
No.. they'll have separate kernel directories.
4, What are the dependent and independent files ?
Files will be all independant, beside the hosts and services files.. but sap wise everything should be under different SID's (as far as i remember)
5, How the database wil behave when i stop/start one server ?
You have to be carefull with this one... if you stop the DB it will affect both systems... so when stopping the system make sure you use stopsap/startsap r3

  • Maintain Structured Product in CRM and ECC

    Dear expert,
For structured product, i have folowing questiones. Could you pls kindly help on it:
    1) Structured product can be maintained in both CRM and ECC, right?
    2) If i matain in CRM, how can i download it to ECC?
3)how to maintain it in ECC?
4)if i maintain it in ECC, how to download it to CRM?
    Thanks!!
    Hedy

    Arun,
In CRM the sales organization is an organizational unit object that has an attribute that corresponds to the 4 digit sales organization code in ERP.  This is also true for purchasing organizations which are organizational units that have ERP purchase org code as an attribute.
So to do this you need to translate the organizational unit number based on the attributes of that organizational unit(sales or purchasing).
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • IS CRM AND ECC 5.0 INTEGRATED

    Hello Experts
I want to know CRM is integrated with ECC or we need to integrate with XI

    hi Srinivas,
CRM could be used as a Stand alone system if you are doing a Scenario like
Activity and Opportunity Management which does not require integration with any other SAP or Non-SAP system.
But if you are doing Campaign Management,Digital AssetManagement or any other depending on the dependency CRM can be integrated with ECC(conditions
transactional data replication), BI (for data mining tools), SCM (APO to do the realtime availability check) usually Middleware is used as a tool for communication between these systems.
XI is more functional when the given landscape has hetrogenous systems, If you are depending on a Legacy system for Masterdata in the landscape.
    Please reward points.

  • Replication of BP from CRM to IS-U (ECC)

    Hello,
Our problem is that the BP with the role sold-to party created in CRM is not being replicated in the contract partner role (MKK) in IS-U and the SD-customer is also not being created in ECC.
I can see the problem is that an appropriate reference customer model is not found.....but shouldn't the reference customer be taken from table TCRMBP_REFCUST when the BP is created in CRM??
Because in IS-U: <i>SAP Utilities > Master Data > Business Partner> Settings for Creating Standard Customers</i>
...You can only define <u>one</u> reference customer for the role Contract patner (MKK)....and here we have used the reference customer for BP created in IS-U.
I believe we need two reference customer (models), one that is used when the BP is created in IS-U and one when the BP is created in CRM...is this correct?
    <i>System information:
We have followed the IS-U specifications for the set-up and load guide for the BP. We have suceeded with the initial download from IS-U/ECC -> CRM.
Now we are trying to create BP in CRM and get it replicated to IS-U(as MKK) and ECC (as SD-customer xd01). CRM ->IS-U/ECC Is not working as assumed.
We are using the 'Strategy for Number Assignment Using the Same Numbers' and 'Strategy for Equal Status Systems' (IS-U/ECC->CRM and CRM ->IS-U/ECC)</i>
Hope someone can help us out. I will reward maximum points
    Kind Regards
    Saima

    Hello Irene,
    Thanks for your reply.
The parameters in the PIDE transaction should be ok as there is no problem in this kind of correspondance...
The problem is that you can only define one reference customer for the BP role Contract patner (MKK).....and here we have used the reference customer(100110) The numberrange for BP created in IS-U is 100110-199999 that's why the replication works correctly for BP's created in IS-U.
On the other hand the no. range for BP created in CRM is 200111-299999. This leads to problems, as the contract partner can only be allocated to reference customer 100110 and not the reference customer (200114) which is meant for BP created in CRM.
When we create the BP (Sold-to party) in CRM it creates a BP (Contract partner) in IS-U...this contract partner has a field for reference customer, which remains empty when the BP is created in CRM => This leads to the fact that no SD customer is created in the background.
My question is how the SD partner can be created in the correct no. range....Can I somehow populate this reference customer field for BP (Contract partner) during the replication from CRM to IS-U?
    Kind Regards
    Saima

  • Rebate Agreement Replication CRM to R3 and vice-versa

    Hi All,
We have a requirement of creating Rebate Agreement and maintaining the conditions in the same.
When we create an order (in R3 or CRM) the values has to be populated from the rebate agreement.
    Scenario A:
The setup of rebate is completed in R3, we have downloaded the conditions from R3 to CRM and when we are creating the order in CRM the rebates are not getting recognized. Upon analysis we found that we have to download the rebate agreements too and the respective object is REBATE_DNL_AGR.
(Rebates are working fine for Pricing in R3.)
    Scenario B:
We have tried an workaround of creating rebate agreements in CRM and uploading them to R3, object used is REBATE_AGRMNTS but no success.
(In this case rebates are working fine for Pricing in CRM.)
We are facing issues in replicating the Rebate agreements from CRM to R3 and vice versa.
When we do the initial load R3AS of below objects, they are not progressing and not appearing in queues too. Status is always running
CRM to R3 for rebate agreement – REBATE_AGRMNTS
R3 to CRM  for rebate agreement - REBATE_DNL_AGR
If you have any inputs, pls share. Thanks
    Regards,
    MK

    Hi  Kalyan,
Did you achieve scenario B ?. You also mentioned that for scenario B , it works fine with pricing in CRM. Was the billing happening in CRM or ECC in that case ?.
Did the scenario A worked ?.

    Hi Friends,
I am currently working on the CRM 2007 Web UI
I have created the copy of existing standalone CRM client which is already having products, organization, BP created in it.
Now I am planning to connect the CRM client with the ECC client.
Is there any special care i need to take while connecting both the systems?
Also while doing replication any extra care do I need to take?
    Help will be definately rewarded?
    Cheers,
