CVP server/port limits in UCCE UCS deployments

Hello
I am reviewing the Docwiki for UCCE/CVP deployments in a UCS environment.  The highest
capacity example was for 12000 agents and 3600 N+N CVP ports.  This CVP port sizing
is not the limit though?  I was reviewing Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal  book and
it had the same example but in the notes section it states that "any number of unified cvp
VM's and combinations of coresidency of unfied CVP VM's  with other UC applications
are possible on an ESXi server..." as long as the resources of the CPU, memory, etc
are not over commited.
In my design, we are using B200 M3's and I should be able to have 5500 CVP ports and 5500 CVP
redundant ports running on their own respective CVP servers assuming Im not exceeding
the capcity of the blades (Im not spliitting across any cores).  This would be a router/logger configuation
with 6500 agents (hybrid - ICM agents and UCCE agents)
So as long as I observe the resource allocations of the blade servers, I should be ok for
5500 ports N+N, 7500 ports N+N, etc?
Thanks
Mike Kana

Yasir,
You can do this with what you already have. There are no extra licenses required.
Designing the CVP application to do the recording will take some work. You will need to set up FTP on both CVP Media servers so that you can transfer the recorded prompt to both of them. For putting prompts into the right locations in the ICM script, you have a couple options that I see:
Have the CVP app overwrite prompt files directly based on selections made in a menu.
Have the CVP app create a new file on the media server for each recording, and write the filename to a SQL database that ICM can read from with a DB lookup node.
Combination of options 1 and 2, but using the database to store activated/deactivated status
I've built a similar application before myself. I used static filenames for each prompt - the user calls the application, supplies the ID of the prompt they'd like to record, and can then activate the prompt and set a duration to leave the recording active for. It's very useful for putting any sort of emergency messaging in place. I could see using the same basic design for all of the prompts in an ICM script, though it would add a lot of time to setting up the ICM script.

  • Server Port - Trunk Mode

    Hi,
One of the Server ports (pointing towards a UCS Chassis) on my fabric interconnect is currently showing as down as it is Trunk mode not Fabric Mode as per all the other server ports.
For some reason when I look under the LAN tab this one interface is showing under "internal LAN". I have tried disabling and/or deleting the interface from under "internal LAN" however every time I re-configure the port as a Server Port it is showing back under and the mode remains in Trunk.
Does anyone have some advice how I can get this port out of Trunk Mode and into Fabric Mode?
    Many Thanks, Paul

  • FPN configured for message server port

    Hello,
I would like to configure my Consumer Portal to connect to my Producer on port :8101 (the default message server port of the Producer).  However, each time I try with this conifguration FPN breaks and nothing works - can't browse the PCD or see remote roles via Identity Management (when I switch the config back to point to port :50000 in the Producer object on the Consumer it works fine again).  I'm not using a SAP web dispatcher between the two portals but Producer portal is indeed listening on port :8101 since I can hit it directly.  Is this a limitation of FPN?
My http trace shows an ABORT message when trying to connect with the :8101 configuration.
The 8101 port is necessary to be configured in order to leverage our clustered load balanced environment which has the 8101 message server port listening and redirecting to a cluster of servers.
    Patrick

When using Remote Delta Links one can configure the SAP Message Server's RMI-P4 port (3901 by default) for RMI-P4 communication.
For the HTTP load balancing you cannot configure it to point to the HTTP port of SAP Message Server (8101 by default) only the application server's HTTP port on the Central Instance (e.g. 50000) can be used.
But don't bother yourselves with this, because SAP recommends using SAP Webdispatcher for HTTP load balancing in FPN scenario, so don't use SAP Message Server directly for HTTP load balancing in the FPN connection setup!

  • Can I configure some ports on FI-6200UP GEM as server ports?

    Hi,
    I need your help!
I know FI-6100 doesn't support to be configured its some port on GEM as server ports.
Is it possible to configure some ports on FI-6200UP GEM as server ports?
And also, I wonder that some ports(1/9-16) on a port group(Second) can be configured as a server port(1/9-10), uplink ethernet port(1/11-12), FCoE port(1/13-14), and FC port(1/15-16).
    Thanks in advance.
    Paul

    Hello Paul,
Yes, you can configure server ports on Expansion modules on FI 6200 series.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/2.1/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_1_chapter_0110.html#concept_A552AD7757A549FB82D16A07D0EDA1E4
    --------- snip ------------
All of the port types listed are configurable on both the fixed and expansion module, including server ports, which are not configurable on the 6100 series fabric interconnect expansion module, but are configurable on the 6200 series fabric interconnect expansion module.

  • CVP - VXML ports / application Utilization Monitoring

    Hi,
I would like to see if we can monitor  VXML port / application Utilization in CVP (the exact ports usage & also monitor on which application how many callers are) thru SNMP or any other options that can be used for tool based monitoring rather than running status.bat file in the CVP root folder manually.
    Total Concurrent Callers: 672
     License Ports:            1550
     Available Ports:          848
Application Name            Status     Active Callers   Sessions Ending
     CSM                         Running    0                0
     BillingQueue                Running    0                0
     CallbackQueue               Running    0                0
     HelloWorld                  Running    0                0
Is there any API available to achieve this ? Please suggest
    Thanks,
    JP

    Chintan,Thanks !
We have few OID's in the Cisco-CVP-MIB, which would give us the port utilization statistics but i do not see anything pertain application level statistics.
Yes, we have an option to write power-shell script a call the status bat file and log the data for reporting. However this seems to be performed by only within the CVP server. I mean, the script can be executed locally in CVP servers and not remotely ?!
Am looking for an option that can be used remotely from the third-party monitoring tools ! Any ideas, please ?
    Thanks

  • Server Ports on Expansion Modules?

So I've seen in Cisco documentation and on some other places that the Expansion modules on the interconnects can NOT be used as server ports for the chasis?
So on a 6296 FI you can only use the fixed ports for downlink/server ports? So that means you could only get like 12 chasis fully connected with 8 per interconnect?
What do people generally use all of that expansion module space for?  I just noticed in the emulator you could configure an expansion port as a server port, is that a bug?

Expansion modules allow Cisco UCS 6200 Series Fabric Interconnect to be configured as cost-effective 10-Gigabit Ethernet fabric interconnects and as I/O consolidation platforms with native Fibre Channel connectivity. The Cisco UCS 6248 UP has one slot for an optional expansion module. The Cisco UCS 6296 has three slots for an optional uplink expansion module. The expansion modules are hot swappable. Only the 16-port UCS E16UP expansion module using the small form factor pluggable plus (SFP+) interface is supported. I hope it will help.

  • Single Nexus 5548UP- FCoE configuration with multiple server ports

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to Networking so please bear with me.
Here is some background information. We have a SINGLE Nexus 5548 UP switch to which we are connecting both the storage and the UCS C240 M3 servers (with CNA). Both the storage and server has 2 ports each going to this nexus switch.
We want to implement FCoE with this solution.

Fixed the issue. "switchport trunk native vlan 6" was causing the issue. Maybe the storage and Servers were not configured with proper VLAN's. I removed the native vlan and everything logged in fine.
Any how I have configured a single zone with all 3 servers pWWN's. I know single initiator zoning is the way to go.
Can you please guide me if I can move these servers in their separate zones without any outages?  If it helps, all severs have 2 pWWN's. The current zoneset is active with that single zone.
Please let me know if you need any additional details.
    Cheers,

  • How can I find out the server port for a secured FTP site and creating a FTP Connection Manager

I have to create a FTP Task to go out and get the files that our 3rd party vendor will be dropping on a secured FTP site. I have all the credentials to access that Secured FTP Site and have successfully done so through FileZilla.
Now I need to set-up a FTP Task to go out and get their files and in so doing create a FTP Connection Manager. Is there any way I can determine the
Server Port number from the Secured FTP site? I let it default to 21 and tried the Test Connect and it failed.
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
SSIS has a built in FTP task, while this only works for the FTP protocol, it doesn’t support SFTP. But there are some free clients like WinSCP and
SSIS SFTP Task Control Flow Component
available in the CodePlex which can invoked from SSIS.

  • Changing message server port for ABAP+Java Instance

    Hi,
We had change our message server port for the Java instance from 3607 to 3667.
We did this using the j2ee config tool. We also verified this information through the console config.
But when we look into system info URL using the URL as shown below,  we still that the old message server port is being used. We have recycled the instance couple of times , but does not seem to help.
    http://dfudsbw1.dfna.corp.dom:50700/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
Any ideas where else we have to change the port no. for the message server

    Hi guys,
I solved this on my own with documentation help from SAP.
I had to change the port no. in the Global dispatcher and Global server area as well.
Please see details from SAP below.
"Message Server: Changing Ports/Hosts shows which areas need to be adjusted if
the port or host of the message server changes. Ports are, of course, changed in the
instance profile of the Central Services instance. In the example, the port 3677 and
the HTTP port 8177 have been set, and the new host is called twdfxxx. You need to
use the Config Tool to set these values. For each instance, you need to maintain the
corresponding values for the Message server host and Message server port on the
Message Server and Bootstrap tab page. The connection details for dispatchers or
servers to the message server are maintained in the Cluster Manager. As shown in the
figure, the ms.host and ms.port are maintained, respectively, in the Cluster Manager
with Global Dispatcher and the Global Server. After you have maintained all of the
parameters, you can start the instances."

  • Servermgrd: cupsd's bootstrap server port not found

This issue was posted last fall, but no one had ever posted with a solution to it. About every 2 minutes in /var/log/system.log, I get the following message:
servermgrd: cupsd's bootstrap server port not found
This is on an Xserve running 10.4.5. No printers are attached or will be. I'm not sharing any printers either.
Again, its just an annoyance, but why is something logging to system.log if its not actually a problem?

same prob here. really annoying. ever find the cure?

  • Cupsd's bootstrap server port not found

I've got both Samba and CUPS turned off at startup, yet I get this recurring error in the system log:
Dec 12 19:07:12 /usr/sbin/smbd: cupsd's bootstrap server port not found
Dec 12 19:07:13 /usr/sbin/smbd: cupsd's bootstrap server port not found

Dec 12 19:07:14 /usr/sbin/smbd: cupsd's bootstrap server port not found
I kill smbd but it starts up again, apparently thanks to /usr/libexec/launchproxy
I'm using the default configuration files for Samba and CUPS and there is no printer set up. Using OS X 10.4.3 (not Server). repaired permissions.
this is driving me nuts...any suggestions welcome.

I get that response all the time, it doesn't seem to have any relevance to anything and as far as I can tell, doesn't impair the functioning of my machine.
sometimes, too much information is too much information...

  • Specify SQL Server Port During Setup

I am installing ConfigMgr 2012 R2 in an environment that requires remote SQL.  In addition, the remote SQL uses a custom port and does not run the SQL Browser service.
Is there a way to specify the SQL Server port during setup? I know I can specify the port for the SQL Service Broker, but I need to specify the port for the SQL Server instance itself.
    Any insight/experiences are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jeff

You will need to change the port in SQL Server Network Configuration

    nevorask –
Thanks for visiting our forums. I actually had a similar
situation. I had the iPhone 3GS and used it all the time on a FM transmitter in
my car. When I upgraded to the iPhone 4, it wouldn’t work with the FM
transmitter. I never figured out why it wouldn’t work. I would suggest you
continue working with the manufacturer of the device or wait to see if the next
    iOS update addresses this issue.
Please feel free to visit us again if you have any other
    questions.
