DAQmx task does not start on RT target

I cannot programmically start a DAQmx task on an RT target.  The PXI-8140RT controller hangs on either the DAQmx Start Task.vi, DAQmx Read.vi, or the DAQmx Create Timing Source.vi, depending on the level of complexity I try to use.  Any suggestions on what would cause this?
The vi running on the target is based upon the wizard created target-multi rate-variables-fileIO.vi.  I cannot stop the vi once it hangs; I can only close it.  I have to restart the controller to reestablish communication.    I have tried DAQmx tasks created using MAX, created programmically, and created from a front panel task control.  The tasks test ok using the MAX or the DAQ Assistant.  For now I am trying to measure one RTD channel.
The RT system consists of the PXI-8140RT,  a PXI-6259 M-series controlling a SCXI chassis, and the SCXI-1102B and SCXI-1581 pair capable of measuring 32 RTD's.  There are two other modules in the SCXI chassis which aren't being used yet; a SCXI-1162HV and SCXI-1163-R.  The target and host are running LV Real-Time 8.01 and NI-VISA 3.5.  The host has NI-DAQmx 8.0.1f while the target has V8.0.0, apparently the lastest available.

The VI didn't generate an error message.  Nor was there a message in the RT error log.  I guess it froze before an error could be generated.  I used the DAQ Assistant Express vi in a totally new project.  I have since converted this to code and added features to make it more like my original project.  The new project is working.  I suspect something went wrong with the original project.  I've tried to edit the original project to more closely match the new one and it still dies.  Guess it's time to put it to bed.

Make sure the scheduler is running. Go to http://oimurl/xlScheduler to view the status and http://oimurl/xlScheduler/admin to stop and start the scheduler if needed.

  • DAQMx task does not cleanup properly after execution

I have two VIs which are designed to write to various digital output lines (NI PCI digital output card and NI PCIe DAQ) which will control the DUT/s.
The channels are hard coded and I have one VI to write to DUT#1 and another to write to DUT#2.
Each VI creates a task, starts it, writes to the output lines(twice) then stops and clears the task.
When I run them in LabVIEW....in any order/combination everything behaves as expected.
When I run it in Teststand, the first iteration of the sequence 'PASSES' but anything afterwards 'FAILS' the first time it is called.
    Error Msg:
    DAQmx Create task.vi2
    Task Name: DIG_OUT_FPP_2_1B
Task name specified conflicts with an existing task name.
I have skipped all other steps in the sequence other than the VIs (attached), but the error still occurs.
Somehow, Teststand is not correctly clearing the tasks.
Any advice would be muchly appreciated. Thanks!!!

  • Firefox does not start when I click, but consume a lot of resourcein task manager

    Hello,
Since a few days, when I click Firefox, it does not start anymore (browser Windows does not appear anymore).
Also, I noticed that after I click, my computer makes a lot of noise et becomes slow & gets almost blocked: I can see that in the task manager/processes, firefox is there and consume a lot of memory ressources.
    Can you help ?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Thanks for you reply. What you propose me is to create a new profile and transfer the files from the old profiles to the new.
I am not interested by this option as I want to keep my current profile as I am using programs working on this profile and also have Firefox working on this profile.
But I have a new information which might help. I did not see it during my last tentative but after a few minutes after Mozilla launch, there was like a bug report which were generated.
I copy paste below. Hope that it can help :

  • Workflow does not start when PowerShell Script is run from Task Scheduler

I have a PS script that updates an item in a SP2010 list so that a workflow will be started.  When I run the PS script manually from the PS window on the server it resides, the script runs flawlessly.  If I set a scheduled task on the same server
to run the script with the same credentials as are being used in the PS window, the script runs, updated the info on the list, but DOES NOT start the workflow.  As we know, SPD workflows cannot be started by anonymous or system accounts.  It is as
if the task scheduler adds a bit of information that makes the SP2010 list think the information was updated by one of these accounts even though the field in the list for the item being updated shows the correct account.
    HELP!!!
    D

    Hi,
The issue might be related to the script or schedule task settings your configured. You’d better check the settings.
For example, which option do you set to run the scheduled task? You may select “Run whether user is logged on or not” instead of “run only when user is logged on” as shown in this article:
    http://blog.pointbeyond.com/2010/04/23/run-powershell-script-using-windows-server-2008-task-scheduler/
    Hope it helps.

  • Message bean does not start automatically during application server startup

I have a message bean that does not start up during application server startup. I am able to successfully start the application manually using the visual admin tool.I searched the logs and found the following error. The error references the "QueueConnectionFactory" is not deployed or is not started. I have check and the "QueueConnectiopnFactory" is deployed. Is this a problem with the application trying to start before the "QueueConnectionFactory"? Is thier a way to define a dependency on my application not to start until the "QueueConnectionFactory" has been started, if so can how would I define this dependency. Please provide and example.
    Thanks,

I though the same thing, but XE LISTENER is running on localhost and port 1522. On the other hand XE have local_listener explicitly set to the very same connection descriptor. Even XE installation was second on this server.
I've could change that yes, but the startup script doesn't seemed to have this mind.

  • Panel does not start automatically in Gnome 2.24.3

Since Gnome 2.24.3, the Gnome Panel does not start automatically.
I had to manualy add it to the startup group via "Sessions" in order to force it to start when login finishes.
Does anybody has the same behavior?
Should I report it as a bug?

That may be true but it is a real pain since when it happens the only way to recover is to terminate all of the iTunes modules with task manager and start it manually. It also leaves the IPOD in a state that says do not disconnect. You can disconnect since nothing is really happening but there is no excuse for this not to start much faster. When you have multiple users it is a real pain. It ought to be able to either end when finished or better yet allow multiple users simultaneously updating from different libraries.
I guess i will just have to get in the habit of treating it as a single user and start and stop it every time I need it and be suer not to let it run. Not nice because that means waiting for larger Podcast downloads instead of having there ready for me when I sign on my computer.

  • Photoshop does not start unless I reboot

I have been having this problem since yesterday. Photoshop does not start after I use the computer for a while. I opened Windows Task manager to see if any processes start at all, even though the application does not start. Two processes (1) AdobeIPCBroker and (2) Photoshop.exe process start, but photoshop application does not open , not does it show up in the applications. What may be going wrong?

Where did you get this idea?  This is the problem.
    Follow the wiki
Also, you realize everything you are installing and doing only remains in memory.  Why are you installing all these packages?  Are you going to repeat this installation and user creation at every reboot?
EDIT: something else is wrong too - but until you fix the above, it will be hard to know if it is a separate cause, or an indirect effect.  /run/user/0 should not be relevant, but /run/user/1000 should be used.  I suspect your method of starting X is logging out of the 'su'ed user and is dropping back to the root login that it is under.  You'll likely need to change tty's to log in as your user - on a normal system you could log out of the root session and back in as your user - but on the iso I think autologin for root is set on tty1.  Of course you could disable this too.

  • PE 9 does not start on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

No matter how I try to start PE 9, it does not start.
From Welcome Screen -> New Project: nothing happens. Form Elements Organizer -> File - New - Premiere Elements Video project it takes some time loading all modules, libraries and sorts of things until an error message appears saying that PE 9 does not function anymore.
That's all, no error log or something like this. Please let me know what info is needed.
PS: Why does my cursor jump to the beginning when I press enter in text editor here?

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various
parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle...
this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video
    editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708?tstart=0 for more) with Windows
(or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on
drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in
the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the
type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing
Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208?tstart=0 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433?tstart=0 use USB externals for editing
A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but
eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used this eSata Dock... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual
    disclaimers

  • Photoshop 32bits does not start up anymore on Windows 7 64bits.

    This is the situation:
We have 2 PCs that have been configured identically, with the exception of a scanner (canonScan 9950F) attached to the computer and the 32 bits twain scanner driver installed.
Both PCs worked correctly, the one with the scanner attached started 32 bit PhotoShop when there was need to scan. But for some obscure reason, 32 bits Photoshop does not work anymore. I have tried disabling the twain driver (by moving it out of the plugins directory), restarting the machine, updating to the latest software, but despite this, Photoshop does not start anymore... no beep, no crash, no nothing.
I deinstalled Photoshop, Reinstalled - same phenomena.

May be someone out in the user community has a solution? Needless to say, that the second machine works fine!
    Lucien.

The Photoshop executable really should be showing 12.0.4.0 as the executable version should have been updated by the updater.
I'm sorry for the really basic question, but did you reboot after installing the 12.0.4 update?
I do vaguely remember a few forum posts claiming the updater had only worked partially, though in my own case it updated all the files no problem.  Can you recall whether you changed anything under the Photoshop 32 bit installation area (e.g., did you move or remove any of  the Adobe plug-ins, for example)?
If memory serves, the workaround for a "partial update" was to uninstall Photoshop, then reinstall 12.0.0, then update to 12.0.4.

  • Adobe Reader for the BlackBerry PlayBook Showstopping Issue: App does not start

    Hello;
I would like to report an issue with the Adobe Reader app for the BlackBerry PlayBook which renders the application fully unusable. This issue occurs everytime. This issue has been tested and verified to occur in two distinct BlackBerry PlayBook devices.
Here is a screenshot stating what version (10.0.3.325) of the Adobe Reader app I have installed:
This, I understand, is the latest version for my platform. Unfortunately, the application does not start. Attempting to run it results in a blank screen after showing the BlackBerry logo. The blank screen can be seen in the following screenshot:
It is also strange that the application does not appear in the Application Permissions list, as seen in the following screenshot:
Is there a fix for this showstopping issue? What steps should I take?

Same issue here.  Playbook support knows about it, and referred to Adobe.  The Adobe forum has this comment.  Looks like our Playbooks are abandoned as a platform.
    "Mar 4, 2012 7:20 PM
As the tablet market continues to evolve, we continue to evaluate how to best support the market and where to focus on our resources. Because of this,  Adobe has decided to end its support of the  RIM QNX Playbook devices in March 2012.  This means the ability to create new applications for submission to the RIM store will no longer be possible in Adobe Viewer Builder as well as the ability to rebuild existing targets for new releases of Digital Publishing Suite. Any existing QNX targets will be removed from the manage view inside Viewer Builder".

  • Error(27,78): Reference PartnerLink1 does not exist as wire target

I am starter to BPEL.. when i am trying to invoke webservice(http://www.webservicex.net/convertMe...ight.asmx?WSDL) i am getting these errors
Error(27,78): Reference PartnerLink1 does not exist as wire target
    Error(90): Element 'targets' not expected.

maybe you first created the partnerlink in the bpel instead of the composite?
create the reference in the composite, see if you get the wire from the bpel to your convert-service and then go to the bpel process and use the invoke to call the partnerlink
if you did all this (recreating the service in the composite would maybe be the easy fix)
