DART - Question on Special G/L related segments

Hi guys,
I am new in SAP, and I have a few questions regarding DART extraction.
I have been given a task to study on how extraction is performed in DART, focusing on the extraction of "Special G/L figures" transaction data.
I know that DART extracts are organized in segments, and in performance assistance, it states that the segments TXW_KNC3 and TXW_LFC3 are processed when "Special G/L figures" is checked.
However, when I tried to find for these two segments in DART Segment catalog to check for their source tables and more details, it seems that I can't find it anywhere in the Segment catalog.
Therefore, I would like to know:
1) Is there any reason on why the two segments are not listed in the DART segment catalog?
2) Do I need to define a new segment for this? As for my understanding, the segments is provided by SAP by default.
3) I understand the definition of "Special G/L" and what it does, anyhow, in DART, it is stated as "Special G/L figures". Is there any difference between these? Does "figures" means like the header data of Special G/L?

Hello Shakir,
1.it depends on which DART release your using. It's been a while but I think G/L extraction came out with DART 2.5. The TXW's your looking for came with DART 2.7 and can be found in SAP Note 1511234
2. Segment information can be found in the transactions FTWW and FTWQ
3. G/L is General Ledger and you can find more information over this here : http://scn.sap.com/thread/1968409

we are on 11i, i am trying to setup on modifiers using Item Categories. Customer has 4 segment category structure.
Category structure= Vendor, Group, Style, Price code , here is how Data looks = 060.10.800.40
In 11i, can we setup Modifiers on Segment1 & Segment 2 ( 060.10), so system picks up all values for segment3 and segment4.
I understand R12 can do this as per Metalink Note: 746020.1. is this supported in 11i.? I am unable to accomplish this.

Please donot post more questions in a single thread. If you post it separately, you will get many responses and detailed explanations from more members.
Regarding your queries.,
1. Relevant for delivery field in Item Category is for TEXT Items and for others you should configure the field in Schedule lines.
3. Shipping conditions will be defaulted from the CMR of SP. If a value exists in the sales document type (eg. OR) then it will have priority and will replace the value defaulted from CMR.
5. The pricing applies to Item Level only. But you cannot determine different procedures for different line items.
6. Header conditions will not have access sequence and you cannot create condition records for header conditions in VK11.
7. In consignment process - the first two steps are mandatory i.e., Consignment fillup and consignment issue.
The other two steps are required only if there are returns from the customer(not consignee) and if there are any unsold stocks at the consignee.

Question about USMM: SSCR keys related

Hi All,
I met a problem when using USMM.
When I excute user classification, I found some users with SSCR key are not developer,
so I deleted their SSCR registrations from SAP Support Portal,
but after that, I can still see they are with SSCR key in user classification.
And a related question, should I check this in development system or in production system?
I check them both, and in both of them I can still see they are with SSCR key in user classification.
Please give some advice if someone know it.

I also found SSCR key data in production system and QAS system.
(our system landscape are 3 system structure: development, QAS, production ).
Should I also delete the data in them?
In general, no changes should be allowed in QAS and the PRD servers. So, as a good pracice we should not have the users registered as developers in the QAS ans PRD.

Is it neccessary to delete the SSCR key user record from Sap Support Portal ?
If you are sure that the developers are no longer with ur firm, you can remove their developer key from SAP SMP. For ur reference in future, u better have the list of developers from the SAP SMP for ur firm and then delete them in SAP SMP.

A question about "Special Occasion " Theme

I´m preparing a book with the "special occasion" theme (this is the first one I do) but don´t want to write any text in it. I select the text and delete it but then appears a rectangle were the text was.
My question is. Will this rectangle appear when the book is printed?

Question concerning special characters (i.e. Kanji signs) within JavaMail

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to create and send E-Mails out of an struts-/JSP-application where users may enter some remarks.
These remarks can contain special characters like ampersand, German umlauts, Kanji signs etc.
Now what do I have to do/to encode or whatever in order to send these remarks as message contents using the JavaMail API in order to get them displayed correctly within Mozillas (and other) mail clients?
The best results I achieved so far was while using "text/html" when setting content into a MimeMessage object.
But unfortunately all CRLFs entered within the remark fields were missing (ok, I can adjust them when converting the CRLF into <BR> as long as using "text/html") and furthermore the Kanji signs were only displayed as question marks.
I converted every character/sign entered into the remarks field into Java-unicode chacracters (from their HTML entity representation). When doing so the Kanji characters are displayed correctly while shown within MS Excel in a sheet the has been created by JExcel API (Java) but they aren't displayed within mail clients!
What do I have to do in order to get them displayed correctly?
Will I have all the content to be wrapped into HTML body-tags (<head></head><body> --- content --- </body>) when sending mails using "text/html"?

Ok, found a solution for the Kanji Signs: setting the content using setText(string, "UTF-8"); does the job.
Now I'll only have to adjust the non-Kanji-HTML-Entities like &  and so on.
Tey can be mixed with Kanji signs in the same string.
Any Ideas?

Question about SAP standard functionality related to the GL master record.

My question is;
Is this a SAP standard functionality to update the description ( long text or short) of a GL account (in master record) in one company code when we change the description of the same GL account in another company code which is assigned to the same chart of account?
For example we have two company codes and both are assigned to the same chart of account and we are changing long text of one GL account in one CoCd. Should it update the long text of the same GL account in other CoCd assigned to the same chart of account? If so, then is this a standard SAP functionality or there is any setting where we can turn this functionality on or off.

1.Chart of account leval
2.Comapany code leval
In chart of account leval Type/Description,Keywoard Translation,Information of Chart of Account of account tabs are controlled ,if u made any changes above tabs that should be applicable to all company codes using same chart of accounts.
u r changing the short text,long text these are controlled by char of accounts leval this should be applicalbe to all company codes, u can't maintain company code leval type and description.

Question on Special Character RSKC

Hey guys,
I wonder if you guys can help, our load keep getting special character (line break) which display as square. And just got to know that nothing is stopping out clients from putting in chinese, german or even russian characters into the text box of your source system.
So I was wondering how do I allow to accept such wide range of special characters in RSKC or can i just switch RSKC off?

Hi,
I think you are facing an invalid character issue.
This issue can be resolved by correcting the error records in PSA and updating it into the target. For that the first step should be to identify if all the records are there in PSA. You can find out this from checking the Details tab in RSMO, Job log , PSA > sorting records based on status,etc. Once its confirmed force the request to red and delete the particular request from the target cube. Then go to PSA and edit the incorrect records (correcting or blanking out the invalid entries for particular field InfoObject for the incorrect record) and save it. Once all the incorrect records are edited go to RSA1>PSA find the particular request and update to target manually (right click on PSA request > Start update immediately).
I will add the step by step procedure to edit PSA data and update into target (request based).
Steps
1. Force the request to red in RSMO > Status tab.
2. Delete the request from target.
3. Come to RSMO > top right you can see PSA maintenace button > click and go to PSA .
4.Edit the record
5. Save PSA data.
6. Got to RSA15 > Search by request name > Right click > update the request from PSA to target.
This should solve your problem for now.
As a long term you can apply some user exit in source system side or change your update rules to ensure that this field is getting blanked out before getting loaded in cube or add that particular char to permitted character list in BW (Run TCODE RSKC
Input the <character> and execute the program) This will add <character> to the allowed characters list.

Upgrade question...not data related!

Ok, I have learned to accept the fact I have no choice but to get a data plan if I want to get a new phone that my daughter can see the screen on since she is visually impaired. The question I have now is both hers and my phone are due for early upgrade on the same day, the 29th/30th (depends on who I ask) of this month. I had planned on waiting til then to get the new phones but now we have several new issues. Her vision has degraded to the point where on her current phone, the Versa, she can no longer tell certain letters or numbers apart, even with the font set to the largest size available, so I need to do something quick for her. I have the EnV Touch, which until January was a great phone, never had a problem with it, since then it will not hold a charge for more than 3-4 hours, bought a new battery-same problem. constantly resets itself, will not keep my settings (i.e. wallpaper, background, clocks etc), 2 weeks ago the inside screen went bonkers and now it looks like a bad Picasso, even with all that I was going to limp it along until the end of the month. Well, today the touch screen has gone bonkers and the phone itself gets incredibly hot when I try to charge it. Is it possible to get our upgrade NOW even though it is 3 weeks early? Without getting charged a ridiculous price since I am extending 2 yrs?

My Droid 2 (motorola) never shuts off. (only if I remove the battery) This is not a feature advertised when I purchased this phone. I have had the phone replaced once already, and the new (used-refurbished) replacement has the same "feature".
Ok, I've now called verizon and the responce was "tough" if you want a beter phone you have to pay for it retail price!
Now, I've been patient for enough months that I feel it's time to accually make my voice heard. I would like to talk with someone who can remedy this situation.

Question Regarding Special Offers and Rebates

i am a college student and i know i can get a free ipod nano ($179) with the purchase of a macbook. i came across an ad on the website and it stated that i can get up to $100 when i buy a mac and a printer. so what's the catch with up to $100? if i purchased a cheaper printer that costs $100 the rebate would be less and if i bought a higher-end printer that costs $300, i can get the full $100 rebate?
if so, does it work WITH the ipod nano offer?

ok, for the UPC barcode that you have to send in for both the nano and the printer. The person at the apple store told me that you want to send the hard copy to the Printer rebate place being that it is 3rd party, and then you make a copy of the UPC barcode and send the copies to apple and note on the paper that you are taking place in the printer rebate offer as well..
im pretty sure that is what the lady told me at the apple store, but you might want to double check with them at the apple store too know exactly what to do.

Question about special characters in XML documents

I need to create some XML documents based on documents containing elements containing strings containing accentuated and special characters such as �� or Asian characters.
I have found the following code claiming that XML documents created by the xformer will have a utf-8 format:

When I generate the XML into a byte array input and print the content, I get:

Question about active queue and related msg of Nets.Messaging server 4.15

I have Netscape Messaging Server 4.15 Patch 7 (buil
t Sep 11 2001). I see that the number of messages in active queue viewed as number of file (ls -l queue/messages | wc -l) doesn't matches with the number of messages that I see in Mailbox-deliver as showed by sendmail -bp command.
Why?
Very often number of file are few hundred, when the emulator of sendmail shows only twenty-thirty messages.
And I see that the messages in active queue (if I open them with commands like more, view...) are all for local domains on server, so mailbox-deliver.
There are sometimes a lot of messages of months ago...

Multitrack Audio Capture question ...Not DV related :)

I am wanting to use FCP 5 to capture multitrack audio from a firewire interface such as the MOTU 828mkII while capturing video from my Kona LS at the same time.
the FCP 5 page says, "Multichannel audio lets you capture and output up to 24 channels of high-resolution 24-bit, 96kHz audio in a single pass."
I'm not sure if that means that you can capture up to 24 channels while you are capturing video or if the multitrack audio capture requires timecode syncing and capturing audio and video separately. The reason I'm trying to do this is that I want to capture the video and multi track audio live rather than recording to a deck with timecode and syncing it up later. I know this isn't the typical way to do it and that FCP capture is a less reliable way to record than a VTR. I'm aware of my Kona card's multiple audio channels, but I am specifically interested in a multi track audio interface (such as MOTU 828mkII).
I've searched the forums and internet for weeks and I can't find anyone who has suggested that this work. Will a 828mkII just show up as another audio capture device in FCP that will record more than 2 channels during video/audio capture?

Hi gevus, I know this is somewhat late and if you haven't already found another solution then I would suggest that you purchase a pci sound card e.g. Soundblaster Live can be had for as little as $35.00 from Newegg.com (a very reliable online store with free shipping most of the time). I capture video with my 9600 aiw pro and use a sb live...my mb also came with an onboard sound processor (nforce2) however, I still prefere the flexability of the Live card...plus dispite reviews on this nforce2 onboard sound as being as good as Live I disagree I listen to (and watch) alot of movies on my computer and have a pair of BOSE headphones. I cound definetely notice a difference in sound quality. I dont know your video needs but the Audigy card by Creative Labs is even better if you need or want real good quality reproduction however, remember that the audio sorce is the real key to good sound.

Question for Pro Photogs - Sports Related - (Nikon)

Is there a way to "Tag" photos (like the Lock Photo works in PhotoMechanic) on your camera so Lightroom only displays the "tagged" photos on import? Obviously this would be a huge time saver when trying to transmit at let's say half time of a football game.

Question about special effects

I bought this programe yesterday so I could make pictures black and white and add a burst of color to one object but I cannot find out how to do this I have photoshop elements 12

One way is to be in the Expert mode in the pse 12 editor, select the Smart Brush Tool, set The Presets to Reverse Effects and chose Turn Your Image black and white in reverse.
Then paint on the part you want in color.

Relation between a datafile and segments.

Hi All,
I am trying to understand the storage concepts of oracle. I read that
1. Tablespace is a logical grouping of datafiles
2. Segments are made up of Extents and Extents are composed to DB Blocks which are logical grouping of OS blocks.
But I am unable to establish a relation between Datafiles and Segments. Is it right that a datafile logically divided into Segments?
Another question I have is, can a segment span across multiple datafiles?
Please help me understand this concept.

Tablespaces and segments are LOGICAL database concepts. Datafiles are a PHYSICAL database concept. A segment can indeed span accross multiple datafiles. But a segment can belong to only ONE tablespace. A datafile can belong to one tablespace. But a tablespace can consist of multiple datafiles.
