Data cleanup for customtables in production system.

Hai,
My requirement is a list of custom tables data should be deleted in production system based on some selection-criteria.
Any one can suggest how we can achive this.
Shall I write any Zprogram or any other way.
I have written code for one table .
Reprot ZTesdel.
Tables : YDCS_COMP_CR.
DATA itab1 type STANDARD TABLE OF YDCS_COMP_CR.
SELECT * FROM YDCS_COMP_CR INTO TABLE ITAB1.
DELETE YDCS_COMP_CR from table ITAB1.
Please any one can tell the same code will work for deleting records from YDCS_COMP_CR or any other piece of needs to added?

Depending on the nature of the data, there might be a legal retention period to be observed.
Also check for dependencies to other tables, foreign keys, so you don't end up with a corrupt database.
If it is data in the GB range, don't delete in one chunk, or the redo buffers might overflow. Instead fetch packages of x records, delete them and do a commit work before reading the next package. Use OPEN CURSOR WITH HOLD and function DB_COMMIT for this purpose.

Our management has come up with a requirement of expansion of SAP environment to cover up users in a different country for their francise over there. The options we are considering are below:
1. Implementing a whole new setup ( ECC, EP,BI, PI,Trex).
2. Expanding the lease lines between the sites in both the countries and providing access to the present setup itself with enhancement in the current hardware configuration.
or is it a good practice to keep a new Production system in the other country and add a new delivery route for the new production system within the current transport route ? How the license part may be taken care in these cases ?

Hi Sujit,
The answer to this question really depends on whether the new country is going to share much of the same configuration with some tailoring to local laws and requirements. If the system is going to be the same, then there is now reason to deploy a new system unless you are reaching technical limits for hardware. For ease of management and usage, then having one system is preferred. You can then upgrade your network to cope with the increased load and hardware as required.

ChaRM scenario for only one productive system

Hi CHaRM-experts!
I would like to know whether or not is it possible to use the Change Request Management scenarion for only one productive system?
It means we have systems and cases where we should apply the emergency correction only in productive system, without any transport from DEV or QAS system.
Does ChaRM support such case?

Best practice to reduce downtime for fulllaod in Production system

Hi Guys ,
we have options like "Initialize without data transfer ", Initialization with data transfer"
To reduce downtime of production system for load setup tables , first I will trigger info package for Initialization without data transfer so that pointer will be set on table , from that point onwards any record added as delta record , I will trigger Info package for Delta , to get delta records in BW , once delta successful, I will trigger info package for the repair full request to get all historical data into setup tables , so that downtime of production system will be reduced.
Please let me know your thoughts and correct me if I am wrong .
Please let me know about "Early delta Initialization" option .

Hi,
You got some wrong information.
Info pack - just loads data from setup tables to PSA only.
Setup tables - need to fill by manual by using related t codes.
Assuming as your using LO Data source.
In this case source system lock is mandatory. other wise you need to go with early delta init option.
Early delta init - its useful to load data into bw without down time at source.
Means at same time it set delta pointer and will load into as your settings(init with or without).
if source system not able lock as per client needs then better to go with early delta init options.

License for testing and production systems

Can any one help me out on implementing license in my B1 System.
According to our contract we have licensed following user types:
User Type
Licensed
AddOn Access License 25
Professional User 5
Software Development Kit - Development Version 20
We have Test/development system in one hardware and Production system on different hardware. Please advice me how to request/allocate license for my test/development system and production system.
We tried creating a Test System in SAP Market place and requested license for test system. While requesting license for production system, it is found that the license is exceeded. In other words, developent system license also counted.
Please advice me on the best practices of B1 license implementation.

Hi,
Our customer wants to Keep the production data secure. Developers and consultants should not have the access to it.
Then you have only two options:
1.Either you should maintain a standalone b1 server for the developers and consultants to test their solutions and scenarios.
2.Otherwise you can create users in sql studio for accessing only the test database.
So that as per your requirement
All configurations and sample data will be kept in a test environment where developers and consultants can do their work.Once everything is correct Admin will do the transfer to production.
Note:New users can be created in the sql studio under Databases-><Company Db>->Security->Users, Rt.click new user

SOP-S076, Actual Data Update for Sales and Production

Hi All,
I have been working on a prototype to display the Actual Sales and Actual Production figures accurred during the past periods along with the Sales Forecast figures. I am using Product Groups and the standard Info Structure S076 provided in the Standard SOP.
Currently, the system is live with similar solution. However, when I display the entries in SE16 for the Version 000, I get a message "No entries found". As per the documentation, Version 000 needs to be populated by SAP and it can not be changed. Therefore, I can not pull these figures in any of the Planning Types I created.
I would appreciate any guidance to activate the Actual Version 000, in the Info Structure S076.

Thanks for the reply. I replied to perform the Statistical Update as well. However, the response I am getting for the Info Structure S076 is

Due to your data, the system cannot update any information structures.
Procedure
1. Check to see whether information structures using event exist in the update rules for udate group .
2. Check to see whether updating has been switched on for this information structure.</b>
I also tried to activate this info structure in the case that SAP might have allowed updating definitions for S076 in ECC5, using the TCodes OMO* series in the IMG. However, there is still no Update Definition option for S076. When I display S076 using SE16N for the Version 000, nothing is displayed again in Production System.
I guess all this leads to posting an OSS note.
I would appreciate your comments.

Business Content -is needed for QA and Production System

I am working in BW3.5 system.
BI content 3.5.3 is installed in BW Development system.
Is it necessary BI content needs to be installed all the system like BW QA and BW production system.
I am going to activate necessary objects only in BW Development environment. I am not going to activate anything in( Business content )QA /Production.
I am going to move all the objects through Transports.
Now our basis team saying that we have to install BI content in QA and Production.
Please advise on this.

Its customary to install the bussiness content first & start working wwith it . As far as qa,prod & Dev are concerned ,remember that though you transport from prod to qa & dev if they have to be available for use then they have to be activated . So activation of at least the necessary objects is a must in qa & dev as well .

No data selected for printing in production server t.code J1INCERT

Dear Gurusl,
I am facing a issue to tds certificate printout through t.code J1INCERT in production server. My client has booked the invoice in the month of march 2011 & remittance, bank updation is done in the month of 30th Apr. 2011. But while taking the printing out it the error No data selected for printing 8000I. So I need some permanent solution.
For invoice booking fiscal year is 2010 & remittance, bank updation it is 2011.

Check whether you have selected the relevant tax types for invoice posting while posting the vendor invoice. If its correct then Vendor Master data, Section/Business Place code Address data. Check tables in SE11

In these tables section codes might have been maintained directly. Please check these for any discrepancies.

How to create a transport for queries from production system

We have a situation where the production client has been open during cutover and a user has modified queries which were previously transported into production from our development system. We now wish to 'synchronise' our systems so production can be closed (although we will use the changeability options to allow maintenance of local queries).
Does anyone have experience of this problem? What is the best way of exporting the queries in such a way that we can import them into our development and quality systems?
As ever, any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Hi,
In similar situation, we opted for manual modifications in the Dev. We made the changes in the queries as they were in Prod and then transported them from Dev to Q and then to Prod.
This is how generally it is done.

In the screen FI12 if you have filled all the relevant data, the system should propose teh request on its own. If you have missed and clubbed this in any other transport request, then you need to generate transport.
Fropm the Table view Menu select Transport. This will give you first transport request creation option and then you select the entries that you want to transport and then press button " Include in Transport".
Save entries and trans port.

Can SAP BI (BW) stand alone as a data warehouse for Non-SAP Source Systems.

I recognize that the answer to this question depends on the version of SAP BW we are discussing. My question is one being posed to determine how SAP BW fits in with the BI world and the other tools available.
- Can a company implement SAP BI without also having the SAP ERS applications?
- If so, will SAP BI effectively support 3rd party source systems and what is needed to make it effective (NetWeaver XI, NetWeaver 2004s)?

Same logical system name for two productive systems - BW, PI issues

Dear all,
we have a productive system which serves two companies (different company codes). This system is connected both to BW and PI for both companies.
There is a requirement that these two companies must use their own system, so the whole landscape (dev,qa,prd) will be copied to different systems (different server with different system id).
As a result of the above procedure we wll have two different productive systems, as required, but we wll have the same logical system name for the two productive systems, which must be both connect to bw and PI.
However as far as I know:
- we cannot connect systems with same logical system name to BW,PI
- we cannot convert logical system name of the one of the two productive systems as they are productive and so this is not supported.
How can we overcome the problem?
Please advice.

Since you split up systems (or plan to) I highly recommend booking an SLO service (http://service.sap.com/slo). Those people have to the tools and the knowlege to help you. I would not do this on my own.

LSMW UPLOAD IT 0655 in Production System

Firiends while uploading data in IT 0655 in Production System, for few personnel numbers I am getting this error
*Missing secondary record for infotype 0002 for particular date for particular PERNR
But i can see in the system that this record is existing.

If you check the MP065500 screen 2000 there is a validation for infotype 2 while creating the 0655 record.

From what i understand the end date of your 0655 record will have the be equal to infotype 2. Not sure why this is done this way but still it's "hard-coded" so it isn't a customization thing.

SAP Production system - SDK Dev New licence key components

I like to request a new license key for SAP B1 production system. What should be the components along with SDK Development that i should select in the license key request information?
Is it mandatory to have at least one professional user license in the Development system?

I heard that instead of using atleast one professional user license for development system we can also use a limited user license to access the internal objects in SAP Business One system. But I am not sure whether this will work and also the concept of limited user license is specific to each individual modules within the Business one system.i.e. limtied CRM user license, limited Finance user license. if we use these licenses obviously we have limited access to the objects in the Business One system. am i right? , please let me know that these limited user licenses will come along with the package of licensing or do we need to purchase them separately?
