  • How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro & Database table

    Dear friend,
    I am a beginner of Web Dynpro. I want to develop my simple project like these:
    1. Create my own database table via Dictionary Project such as TAB_USER and have 3 fields: USER_ID, USER_NAME, USER_POSITION and I have already deployed & archived it.
    2. Create my own Web Dynpro Project, and create the input fields as User ID, User name, User position and icon 'Save' on the selection screen and I have deployed it already.
    For the process, I want to input data at the screen and save the data in the table, please give me the guide line like these:
    1. How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro and Database table ?
    2.  Are there any nescessary steps that I will concern for this case?
    Sorry if my question is simple, I had try  to find solution myself, but it not found
    Thanks in advances,
    SeMs

    Hi,
    You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
    Ex:
    public class  ConnectionClass {
    static Connection con = null;
    public static Connection getConnection() {
    try{
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/TSPAGE");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    return con;
    }catch(Exception e){
    return null;
    You can place the above class file in src folder and you can use this class in webdynpro.
    You can have another UserInfo class for reading and writing the data into the DB .

  • Display Pre-Formatted HTML via Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    Does anyone know of a way to display preformatted HTML via web dynpro, can any of the standard UI elements do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Simon

    Hi,
    can you explain what do you mean by HTML string? is it binary data that you have?
    if it is a binary data i.e. in bytes then you can do this way also..
    Store the binary data in a context varaible named Data and to store the url to be generated, create another context variable Url;
    String formattedStr = wdContext.currentContextElement()
        .getData();
    try
      IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource
        formattedStr.getBytes("UTF-8"),
        WDWebResourceType.HTML
      resource.setResourceName("<Give a filename>");
      resource.setAttachement( false );
      resource.setReadOnce( false );
      wdContext.currentContextElement().setUrl
         resource.getAbsoluteURL()
    catch (Exception ex)
      wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager()
        .reportException( ex.getMessage, false );
    Set source of the Iframe as context variable Url.

  • Error executing Webservice for Process Start via Web Dynpro

    Hi Community,
    I have a strange issue when executing a webservice that starts a process using web Dynpro. I have configured, the Service Group, the Communication profile.
    When I try to execute the Service via Web Dynpro, I get the following exception which is in my opinion fully missleading and does not make sense to me. As the Authentication Profile and the Communication profile allow the same Authentication Methods.
    com.sap.esi.esp.lib.mm.config.exceptions.TechnicalException: Failed to create Logical Port for Service Reference with id [YourID here].
    Reason for the failure is that no one of the following Authentication Methods [None], [SAP Logon Ticket], or [SAML Assertion] is allowed in the related Communication Profile.
    Such an Authentication Method is needed as the Authenticaton Profile is [businessOrTechnicalUser] and no User Account is assigned, so the Authenticaton Profile is considered to be noAuthentication or businessUser.
    Related Communication Profile is [SAP_DEFAULT_PROFILE 1] and it allows Authentication Method(s) [User Name/Password (Basic), X.509 Client Certificate, SAP Logon Ticket, SAML Assertion, X.509 Certificate Doc.Auth., User Name/Password Doc.Auth.]
    Thanks for your support.
    Best Regards Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas,
    make sure you have
    - assigned a communication profile (with no- or basic authentication) to the provided service
    - created a provider system with a similar profile
    - assigned the provider system to the (consumer) service group
    For a full guide on service configuration please check this article:

  • How to get the ep user information data in the web dynpro?

    Hi all
      I want to create a web dynpro application on EP.I want to get the ep user information data in the web dynpro.How can I do?Thanks.

    Lin,
    Two steps to achieve this:-
    <b>Step 1:</b> Add the following code in your view Controller:-
    IWDClientUser user = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
    IUser objUser = user.getSAPUser();
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setXXXX(objUser.getUniqueName());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setYYYY(objUser.getFirstName());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setZZZZ(objUser.getLastName());
    where XXXX, YYYY , ZZZZ are the context names.
    getUniqueName : Gives Login id of Portal user.
    getFirstName : Gives First Name of the Portal user.
    getLastname : Gives Last Name of the Portal user.
    <b>Step 2 : </b>Use "Organize imports" and make sure that you have the following two libraries added in the build path of your project. You can do these by right clicking on your project name ==> Properties ==> Java Build Path ==> Libraries ==> Add External jars.
    The external jars are :
    <b>com.sap.security.api.jar
    com.sap.security.api.perm.jar</b>
    Finally rebuild your project and deploy.
    Regards,
    <b>Chintan Virani.</b>

  • What kind of data types in Web Dynpro can be bound to Interactive Form?

    Hello
    Apparently it is not possible to bind a Web Dynpro Context variable of type boolean to a checkbox in an interactive form. We get the PDF Document Render Exception until the data type is changed to string, then the generation seems to work. Does anyone know what data types in Web Dynpro other than String can be bound to an Interactive Form Document? Is there any information about this in help.sap.com/adobeforums.com/elsewhere? I have researched a bit, but couldn't get a general statement on this topic.
    Thank you for your help!
    Kind regards
    Bettina Hepp

    Hi,
    You can Bind the Boolean type of webdynpro to the CheckBox in Adobe Interactive Form.
    Just define the value Attribute in the Context of type Boolean and bind the Checkbox in Aif with this attribute.
    Sample Code:
    if (wdContext.currentContextelement.reason == true)
    ur validations.....

    Mustafa

  • Are ZCI interactive forms available via Web Dynpro for ABAP?

    Note 955795 talks about ZCI forms available via Web Dynpro for Java. Is this kind of forms also available via Web Dynpro for ABAP?.
    Do ZCI interactive forms work via Web Dynpro for ABAP without the need of ACF?
    If available, which support package levels are required?
    Regards

    Hi Mahamed,
    I got your problem. You have not done anything wrong.
    It is WebAS version which is not supported for this functionality.
    But there is solution to this problem
    Please refer to the SAP Note number - 1055738.
    I think you will get the answer and the scenario described there will match your requirement.
    This is a know issues with WebDypro ABAP but this works fine for Java Web Dynpro.
    I have also tried for 2 months but finally came to know about it.

  • EXCEL Web Query  - load into SAP via Web dynpro or standard ABAP

    Hi everybody
    I was wondering if you can run an EXCEL WEB Query from abap and then upload the data retrieved from the web into SAP using either a web dynpro application or standard SAP.
    For standard ABAP one could probably run the EXCEL web query by executing some code such as
    call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute
    exporting
    document = 'your excel web query file'.
    You could then save the data and using GUI_UPLOAD get it into sap.
    I'd really like to do it via a web dynpro application.
    Any ideas anyone.
    For guys who've never used EXCEL web queries --quite easy.
    Open EXCEL
    go to Import External Data
    Choose New web query
    Enter URL of where you want to retrieve your data from such as YAHOO finance etc.
    For example to get the components of the Dow Jones Composite Index (^DJA) use this url
    http://finance.yahoo.com/q/cp?s=%5EDJA
    click the yellow arrow on the table data you want to import. The arrow will turn Green and press IMPORT
    Then enter the cell number where you want to start importing data
    Hey presto you've got your data from the web.
    Cheers
    jimbo

    when you create a new webquery, in the properties, you can set when the page should refresh (data fetch to happen), you can set that to refresh at file open.
    then you can use either OLE or gui_upload to upload the excel to read the data.
    have couple of question:
    why do you want to choose excel webquery ?=> is it because the ability to get unstructured data from the web?
    what sort of data you are trying to read from the web?=> most of data centric sites (forex, stock quotes) will have either RSS feeds or some web APIs to get data which can be easily consumed by ABAP

  • Exchanging data between a Web Dynpro application and SAP Web Shop

    I'll try to keep this as clear as possible:
    1) We have the SAP Internet Sales system running, which has a series of Business Object classes and corresponding Backend Layer objects that can return data from several sources.
    2) We are able to create our own Backend Layer objects that would return data from a component called IPC, which is a Java component.
    3) I would like a Web Dynpro application to retrieve data from this backend layer object, but I am not experienced enough with Java to know if what I want to do is possible. I don't think that I can use JCo, because I am trying to get a Java component (class?) in Web Dynpro to access a Java class remotely.
    4) I think I am asking is this: is there a way for a Java to Java connection to be created, much like Web Dynpro can use JCo to connect Java to ABAP systems?
    If this is a glaringly obvious question to Java programmers, my apologies!
    - Tony.

    Somebody on another forum recommended using RMI. Which would be the better option in terms of ease of implementation?

  • Download data entered via web to a text file.

    Hello,
    I'm developing a very simple BSP aplication in which the user enters via web some data in some fields. This data is store in an internal table. This table is an attribute in the application class. In this class there is a method to save the data to a file in presentation server. I've tried using WS_DOWNLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD but these function modules don't work. I would like to know if there some function modules or methods to download data to a file and that can be used in a BSP aplication.
    Thank you very much,
    Carlos

    Hallo Carlos,
    Welcome to the forum. As with all things new in life, one does not know where to start immediately. I would like to recommend the <a href="/people/brian.mckellar/blog/2004/06/11/bsp-trouble-shooting-getting-help">Getting Help</a> guide as first interesting article to read.
    Specifically you are interested in the section for searching this forum. Use keywords such as download or GUI_DOWNLOAD. Also consider to look at keyword Excel. Although not exactly on topic, the Excel discussions does address this partly. All of this has been discussed many time before.
    Finally, consider to read <a href="/people/mark.finnern/blog/2003/09/23/bsp-programming-handling-of-non-html-documents">BSP Programming: Handling Of Non-HTML Documents</a>. This will really show you some different techniques to download files onto the computer.

  • Data access in web dynpro

    Hi all,
    I'm new to web dynpro, i ve to develop web dynpro appliation which has to interact to oracle database(read/write). For example, if i give certain search criteria the application should display matched data in table format. I dont know how to start & where to start. Please help me out.
    thnx regards
    ilan

    Hi
    You can use the Table UIElement for this
    1.Create a node with cardinality 0..n
    2.Create attributes with the same type of database.
    3.Bind the node attributes with the database values
    4.bind the node to the Table UI Element
    See this thread
    Re: problem with displaying records from the database in a table ui element
    See this sample application and help

  • Data storage in web dynpro

    Hey people!
    Im pretty new in web dynpro, and i want to store the data i input in the inputfields somewhere.. either in a database (oracle) or xml file.. someone got any tips? and if i choose to go for oracle, do i have to create an EJB as well? or could i just write the connections and queries in the views?

    I think that suggested way is to use SQLJ in a EJB and then use that EJB in your web dynpro project.
    Check out this thread.
