Data Filter in Data Selection -DM

Hi ALL,
I am facing problem in loading blank value data to BPC. Scenarion is
Account In BI has Hier as ACT_1
                                          ACT_2
                                         ACT_3
                                         ACT_4
                                         UNassigned - In data base it has balnk and when you report in BI you can see as #-(Un assigned as a text descrption)
in my data manager i need to select the or filter the accounts by Hier as shown above
i can select as ACT_1, ACT_4 but i need to select the blank value also i need to set the filters for unasigned but BPC data manager package will not allow the UNASSIGNED Value to be select.
Any idea on this can i handle some ho in transformation,

Hi,
Based on my test, Data filter does not lost when we re-open the file in Excel 2013. Thus, I think it is not a bug. Thus, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Did this issue occur with the previous file that created with Office 2010?
Have you tried to re-create a new file to test?
If this issue occur only with the previous file that created with Office 2010, this issue might be caused by the file compatibility, pleases use compatibility checker to update the files:

If this issue occur with all files even with a new file, please try to repair Office 2013.

How to customize the data selection on a standard 2LIS_08TRTLP

Hi All,
on the datasource '2LIS_08TRTLP Shipment delivery per stage', I would need to filter on '0DEL_TYPE delivery type' but it is not part of the standard 'data selection' for this datasource.
I have some initial loading issue if I cannot filter directly at the datasource on a specific delivery_type.
How can I 'enhance' the data selection for this standard datasource with the addition of this new filtering condition on 'DEL_TYPE'

Go to change mode of datasource using transaction code RSA6. uncheck the hide sel and customer field column.
Check the check box - del type and save it.
it will be available for selection and check it in rsa3

Trouble in data selection logic

Hi All,
I am hitting 4 tables for selecting some data using inner join. There are three user
input fields which if filled, has to take part in data selection. These three input fields are independent of each other.
so while writing select query, how can i take care of all the possiblilities(none of them filled -- every one of them filled ) in the
most efficient way..?

Hi,
IN the select-options you can add NO-EXTENSION NO INTERVALS..Which can be used a parameter..And you have to use IN in the select statement to filter the data..
Check this example
TABLES: marc.

InfoPackage Data Selection disappear when INIT

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone faced this issue before and/or has a solution.
I have an infopackage that is loading from an ODS to an InfoCube. The ODS has close to 20 million records.
When I do a FULL UPDATE, i am able to use the Data Selection tabe to only filter certain criteria to be pulled over to my Cube.
However, when i try to select and do an INIT, all the fields in my DataSelection tab disappears. and i am forced to load all 20 million records from the ODS.
Appreciate any input or feedback.

oh i see...
i thought otherwise as in the F1 for the init without data transfer, this is what is mentioned...
"If the delta process has not yet been initialized, but you want to test the delta upload, you have the option of simulating the initialization.
This runs the help entries in all the required tables in BW and in the source system, without loading any data from the source system.
In the monitor, you get a message telling you that a record has been loaded. The initialization-simulation request appears in all the data targets in which an update has taken place. However, this request contains only help entries. The simulation does not update any data in the data targets.

Infopackage data selection & deltas

Hi BW Experts,
I have a few questions about infopackage and delta loads:
1) How to perform mulitiple data selection. e.g. company codes 1000, 1001 and 5000? I can't filter by From To data selection since I do not want to include companies 2000, 3000, etc.
2) How to perfrom delta loads for just the company codes 1000, 1001, etc.?
I would appreciate any suggestions or advice.

Hi ,
First of all, what is the delta identifier you have for loading the deltas for 1000, 1001, etc.
For your requirement, create 2 InfoPackages,
1. For FULL loads - Here as advised by others do duplicate rows and maintain the company codes for which you want to do FULL load.
Note: Daily full loads and you can delete the overlapping requests if your target is InfoCube.
2. For DELTA loads - here maintain 1000, 1001, etc and start Init and following deltas.

1. Data in SAP comes from different sources .
2. Sometime we have generalize data from which we need specific data based on our reporting requirement .
ex: If data is coming from standard extractor etc then it is generalized for various reports .If you have specific requirement then you don't need all the data to be loaded in DSO and Cubes .
3.Sometime there is huge amount of data so we select data as per our requirement ex :yearly ,Quarterly ,Fiscal period wise ,Company code wise etc .
4.We can filter out useful data at different level like :
At info package level ,at DTP level ,By routines in transformation ,By using filters at queries etc .
The whole purpose of selection is to load only useful data for reporting .It is part of process of cleansing of data before loading in a Warehouse .

Saved Data Selection Formula

Hi...
I need some help in creating a Saved Data Selection formula. The data source is a SQL Server Stored Procedure which returns a number of fields including 16 'flag' fields which can contain either a 0 or a 1.
The client wants to select which 'flag' fields will be used to filter the report, interactively changing the selection(s).
Any number of fields could be selected, or just 1.
The parameter has values 1-16 along with a description. The description is what the user sees. The parameter is named 'Indicator'
I'm stumbling over the fact that the formula has to return a boolean.... I tried:
if not hasvalue({?Indicator}) or {?Indicator}=0 then 1=1;
    if hasvalue({?Indicator}) and {?Indicator} = 1 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_314a}
    or hasvalue({?Indicator}) and {?Indicator} = 2 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_auto}
    or hasvalue({?Indicator}) and {?Indicator} = 3 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_autohigh_update}
etc.....
    then 1 = 1
    else 1=0;
but I'm not certain how to construct the logic because at the end of all this, I need a THEN... which makes no sense...
I've created Saved Data Selects before, but there were specific tests that were applied, for examplde....
if hasvalue({?Parameter}) and {?Parameter}=1 then {field) in LastFullWeek
These were discrete user selections, not multiple selections, and the 'test' was concrete - this in there!
Any help you could provide would be welcome....

A: Saved Data Selection Formula

You don't actually have to have an If statement for this. Your comparisons all evaluate to true or false anyways So, what you can do is something like this:
(not hasvalue({?Indicator}) or {?Indicator}=0) or
({?Indicator} = 1 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_314a} ) or
({?Indicator} = 2 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_auto} ) or
({?Indicator} = 3 and {p_rpt_Customer_AutoHigh.is_autohigh_update}) or
Notice where I've put the parentheses - these are very important for getting this to work correctly.
Note also that you don't have to include "hasvalue()" in all of the lines. This is because of the way Boolean expressions are processed. Because of the "or", Crystal will only process until it hits the first "true" result. If {?Indicator} doesn't have a value, it will be caught with the "not hasvalue({?Indicator})" in the first line and none of the rest of the formula will be processed.

    i have created an info source . And i don't need all of the data .So i can control this through 'data selection' field of info package . But i do not find any info object here .And i can not add any info object either .
   Can anyone teach me what should i do,if i want to set some limit in the data selection field of the info package .

hi,
To display the info objects in the infopackage selection screen, go to RSA6 select your data source and select the selection check boxes and save the data source and replicate the data source.
create the new info package you can find the info objects in the selection screen of info package.
If u r in BI 7.0, u can manipulate this restriction in DTP using FILTER option in Extraction.

Rotuine in Infopackage for Data Selection---- Urgent

Hi All,
I have a requirement such that i need to select only balnk Values from cube and send it to another cube .
lets say that in CUBE A is the one cube from which i need to extract the data and send it to CUBE B.(data mart).
In CUBE A , I have field Plant , for this field in CUBE A there are values for it and also with no value i.e ' ' (space).
Now my requirement is I need to extract the data from CUBE A for only those records for the field Plant value is ' ' (blank/space).
For this if we give in the infopackage selection if you give space , it is getting all the records.. and If you go for f4 and select Filter symbol and give single value as ' ' (Space or blank) it is taking as value # , but with zero records.
And one more way is writing a Routine for the data selection..
Can anybody guide me how to write a routine for that or send me the code for the above purpose.

I have an idea, I do not know will it works. I based on Pradeep code:
data: l_idx like sy-tabix.
read table l_t_range with key
fieldname = 'Zfield'.
l_idx = sy-tabix.
l_t_range-SIGN = 'I'.
l_t_range-OPTION = 'NE'.
l_t_range-low = 'A'.
l_t_range-high = 'ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ'.
modify l_t_range index l_idx.
p_subrc = 0.
Idea is to exclude all posible strings so maybe l_t_range-high should be '99999999999'. I do not know lenght of your plant characteristic as well so remember about this

RSPCM Date selection?

Hi I have added process chains to trans code RSPCM to track the status everyday. It is prompting date selection prompt every time I run the tcode RSPCM to view Process Chain status?
Any idea how to set the date selection once so that it doesn't prompt the date selection every time.

Step1: Go to RSPCM
Step2. Select filer --> set filter
Step3:Give the corresponding date/peroid.

Report help for multiple Date Select options

Hi Friends,
For a particular year wise report, the client wants 12 date select-options which are changeable and informal every year .The report will also be displayed as per the given date selection period wise. Please help me how to fetch the datas from the table as per the given selection period. Currently the report have one date select-option where the user gives selection range as 1.04 to 31.03. It's related to EB power consumption report and hence the new requirement on date selection which are informal and not a fixed date of every year.
Ex:Selection-Screen
Period 1 : 08.04.2008 to 12.05.2008
Period 2: 12.05.2008 to 20.06.2008
Period 3: 21.06.2008 to 28.07.2008
Period 4: 29.07.2008 to 15.08.2008
Period 5: 15.08.2008 to 21.09.2008
Period 6 : 21.09.2008 to 14.10.2008
The data will derive as per the above selection ranges.......
Please advise with example.

In this case just derive all records matching dates between 08.04.2008 (low in first select-options) and 14.10.2008(high in last select-options.
Also my advice is to use a single select-options and prompt the user to give the dates as ranges in the multiple entries dialog which can be opened by clicking the button on the right side of the select-options.

Error occurred in the data selection

Hi Expert,
I met issue when full loading data from R3 via customized datasource.
the error message in request monitor is:
Error message from the source system
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the source system.
System Response
Caller 09 contains an error message.
Further analysis:
The error occurred in Extractor .
Refer to the error message.
I checked in RSA3, the data extraction is successful, but in BW, when execute the infopackage with or without data selection, both failed due to the same error.
I also checked the background job in SM37 in source system, the background BI* completed successfully, and the IDoc in both BW and source system processed successfully.
I also tried to replicate datasource and activate is using RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL, delete infopackage and recreate it. but seems all this didn't work.
Could u pls tell me how to solve this issue? Thanks.

Need a single point of view on date selections for Delta and Full load IP's

Hi Experts,
Every year we are facing issues on date selections for data extraction, for example the Delta or Full selections for particular IP is like 2005 to 2008 , in this situation, for the year 2009, this IP is picking 0 records as the selections are upto 2008 only.
My requirement is, I need to check the selections of all the IP's in the system and want to change on need base if the selections are getting expired instead of going and checking manually to each and every IP as the system is having around 3000 IP's, which is a tedious job.
Guys, please let us know if there exits a Table/Program or any other way to check it.

I have a question about General Data Selection in Report Painter

Please help me out. Thi is the question....here it goes.
In a Report in ReportPainter, I have in the General Data Selection the following selected characteristics. They are:
Ledger = 0
Record Type = 0
Version = 1
Fiscal Year = Z-ANOACT
Period = (1CPERIV, 1CPERIB)
So that we have the next screen in the Reports execution.
Fiscal Year : 2006
From Period : 1
To Period : 12
Note:
*Z-ANOACT = Variable so that with a user-exit calculates the actual year. Right now is 2006.
*1CPERIV = This From-Period Variable is referenced to CCSS Table and PERBL Field Name. Its default value is 1.
*1CPERIB = This To-Period Variable is referenced to CCSS Table and PERBL Field Name.
Its default value is 12. Rigth now, we are in the fiscal month 5 (November).
Id like to filtrate information from January,2006,Period:07 to November,2007,Period:05.
I mean I work with the fiscal calendar because the information to get from the table is saved due to this calendar.
The Fiscal Calendar is from July to June:
Month          Period     Year
January          07     2006
February     08     2006
March          09     2006
April          10     2006
May          11     2006
June          12     2006
July          01     2007
Augost          02     2007
September     03     2007
October          04     2007
November     05     2007
December      06     2007
Right now, we are in November , 2006 (month=11) but according to the fiscal calendar we are in November, 2007 (month=5).
How I can accommodate my variables or what I am doing wrong so that I can select information from periods 7 to 12, 2006 ( January to June, 2006) and information from periods 1 to 5, 2007 (July to November, 2007) having the screen cited above so that report painter adds the 2 ranges.
I cannot do it with the criteria selection cited above because I only have a year and a range of periods and my end-user doesnt want to run my report twice:
One run with periods 7 to 12, 2006 and
Another run with periods 1 to 5, 2007 and then to add the 2 reports in excel to form a report.
Hed like something in my screen like this
Fiscal Year = 2006
From period = 7
To Period = 12
Fiscal Year = 2007
From period = 1
To Period = 5
And then report painter will add the 2 ranges.
