hi,
I have a video attached, which has both data and video combined and overlaid. this was done in some other software.
can any body help me do this in labview.
i have seperate video and waveform data files. how to playback the data overlaid on video.
please see the attached video for example. a small particle moves in a micro pipe and the waveform gives when it touches some electrode inside the pipe. both waveform and video were taken seperately and combined in the same video.

Hello Freemason,
You may want to explore the use of another NI software product called DIAdem. DIAdem is a piece of data management and analaysis software that has the capability of syncronizing video with captured data. Please see the video tutorial linked below for a more detailed demonstration of the video//data syncronization function:
Synchronizing video and data playback using DIAdem
You may also choose to evaluate DIAdem via the page linked here.
Also, I searched ni.com directly with the terms "video playback in labview," the community example linked here was the first return. As you may gather the video syncronization function is not an inherent function built into the LabVIEw framework. It will take a bit of development to implement this type of feature.
I hope the information provided helps define a getting started point. Please post any follow up questions you may have.

  • Adding a Date/Time stamp to videos already created

We have someone using Elemets 8
They need to add in the date/time stamp to video's that are already created.
The camcorder we have does record this information but doesn't allow that information to be put onto the screen its a Canon HD HF200
We were told by Adobe support we can do this but they wanted $39 plus $39 an hour.
Anyone out there able to tell me how we can get this done for free

PrE lacks the TimeCode Effect (unless it has been added in PrE 10?), that both PrPro and Adobe After Effects has. However, even that Effect does not do date/time, just Runtime TimeCode, but with some display alternatives.
There are two programs called DVDate. One is/was freeware, and the other was inexpensive shareware. I do not have the two links handy, but believe that either will do what the user wishes.
I know that in the past, one valued contributor, Neale, has posted the links, and has also given the details of what each of the programs can, and cannot do. Maybe he'll drop by this thread, and fill in the blanks that I am leaving here.
    Good luck,

  • Playback of imported videos

I am having problem with playback of my videos that have been imported into iMovie. They keep freezing a frame while the music keeps playing and the play button is highlighted. If iclick somewhere else on the time line it starts again but then keeps stopping. So, I can't playback my movie smoothly.

    Sue,
Thanks for all your help and thanks to Bengt too. I tried the repair using Disk utilities and it didn't help with the iMovie playback. So I call apple care and I was informed that if you make lots of movie on your internal drive it can get defragmented. He said that I should try putting onto an external formatted for Mac OSX. That's what I did and it worked like a dream! Something he also told me was to sign in as a differnt user and copy the movie onto this user desktop. I didn't get to try this but he said that it would be a way to test whether it was the user or the system. Also he recommended refragmenting my internal using something like Disk Warrior. I plan to try this too.
I'm not very technical so I hope I'm explaining this right.Just thought you'd like to hear the follow up.
    Thanks again.

  • Burning TS folder as Data DVD vs. Video DV. Is there a difference?

Is there a difference between burning a Video_TS folder as a Data-DVD vs. a Video-DVD in a program like Toast?
I'm experiencing a wierd problem with a client where my discs only play on computers and not on DVD-players and I wonder if I may have burned the folder as a DATA DVD instead of a Video DVD and that is the problem...
Does this make sense or am I a complete loon?
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link and quick response. I did use Toast
When I was working on this proj a few monthes ago, I remembering giving them a "Master" disc with the TS folder in it. I'm currently wondering if perhaps I burned it as a DATA disc because (according to my thinking, let me know if its incorrect) that a TS folder burned as DATA would be of higher quality than a TS folder burned as Video, should they ever need to have it replicated.
Come to find out they had the disc duplicated in-house. And those discs (including my Master) will only play on computers not DVD players... which seems to be consistent with a DATA disc. They inspected the disc and the folders/files look to all be in place so its kind of a mystery. Again, this seems to be what would happen if I burned a DATA instead of VIDEO: all the files would looks to be in place.
    Thoughts?

  • Playback of Multiple Videos Simultaneously -- onCuePoint

    Hello AS3 Gurus!
I have multiple instances of a video playback object (not an FLVPlayback component) on my stage (named "videoScreen1", "videoScreen2", etc...). I have separate NetConnections, NetStreams, and NetStatusEvent handlers set up for each of the video instances. Everything works fine (playback of each video in each instance happens as expected and the NetStatusEvent handlers fire off, as expected, for each of the video streams) except I cannot figure out how to separately keep track of the OnCuePoints events for each of the video streams.
Right now, I have just one onCuePoint function that reacts to the cuepoint info for all the streams at once (with the following code). This misses some of the cuepoints since it seems that it gets a bit confused as to how to handle all the onCuePoint events that fire off from all of the video streams. What I would like is to have separate onCuePoint functions set-up that react to only one stream. That is, have one onCuePoint function react to the video streaming on my "videoScreen1" video object, another that is reacting to my "videoScreen2" video object, etc... How can I do this?
    function onCuePoint(cpInfo:Object):void {
         var key:String;
         for (key in cpInfo) {
             trace(key + ": " + cpInfo[key]);
Or, should my question be: "What is the best way to handle the simultaneous playback of multiple video streams and keep track of onCuePoint (and onMetaData) events for each of the streaming videos?"
Any input would, as always, be most appreciated.

    Hi!
I have had - and still seem to have the same problem. QuickTime 7 will start stuttering after the first change, ie. after the first movie. If you pause playback on and off, the current film will play perfectly - until the next change in the playlist. Then the problem reaccurs.
I cured the situation by going back to QT 6.5.2, where everything works just fine... but you have to do without a lot of nice stuff that QT7 has.
Also remember that QuickTime only supports a subset of SMIL, not all commands.

Does anyone know of a way (or work-around) to change the date and time of video in Aperture?  If not in Aperture, perhaps in a different application.
    Thanks,

And I was hoping that the new Aperture Version 3.2.2 would solve this problem, but no luck - it is still not possible.
I tried to use the commandline tool"exiftool" as a work-around, since the "Date" tag is part of the exif tags, but when I type "exiftool" in the Terminal window to see, if it would be possibe to edit the "Date" tag of a video, I see the following list of capabilities:
           File Types

  • Playback problems and video freezes due to plugins being used on video clips?

I am editing with Premiere, and dealing with playback issues and video freezes as I apply plugins to each video clip.  Not sure how to fix this problem.  I am a mac user, but I cannot upgrade my graphics card, so I am wondering how to fix this issue.

  • DV Time/Date Stamp Show in Video Playback PE8

I need to be able to display the Date/Time code information in my videos.
I've found these two programs that claim to do that...
    DVdate
    http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm
    DV Date
    http://dvdate.ru/en/dvrecdate.html
...but I was hoping that PE8 would have that capability built in. Does it?
If not, what are my best options?

    DC
The regular DV Date program never claimed to supply the DV Time/Date Stamp. It was the DV Date plug-in for Premiere and Premiere Elements that will do the job for Premiere Elements 7.0, but NOT for Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
    The two different programs are:
    "DVdate
    http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm"
    Never.
    "DV Date
    http://dvdate.ru/en/dvrecdate.html"
For Premiere Elements 7.0, but has serious problems with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1.
Someone at a forum that I frequent not so long ago mentioned the basic free version DVMP http://www.dvmp.co.uk/dv-media-player.htm in this regard. I have not tried it, but it looks specific for DV AVI type 1 or 2 video. The more advanced form (with price tag) may have greater format support??

  • Playback and rendered video jumps up and down regularly and minutely

A number of the sequences I've edited have a minute but noticible up-and-down movement.  For example, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hely09sD6gY  You'll notice that only the video image moves up and down, not any of the still images or the StudioCrasher watermark.  I initially thought it was the source video I'd imported, but on a more recent project I've noticed that it also does it with footage from a secondary video camera.
I also note that this doesn't happen on the original source video in Premiere, just in the edit playback and in the exported video.  So, it has to be something in Premiere.
I've tried everything, including searching endless discussion boards, but I can't come up with a solution or a work-around.
    Any ideas?

Thanks John -- okay, here's my answers:
What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).

What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
    Mac OSX v10.7.5
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".

  • Master collection CS4, how to keep "Date taken" in captured videos?

    Hello,
I have the master collection CS4 on a Vista system, and I can easily capture from my old Canon Elura DV tapes, with a firewire cable, either using Premiere Pro, or the simple Windows capture utility.
Now, no matter what file format I created, both AVI (big) and WMV (smaller) the files' "Date Taken" or "Date Shot" fields are blank. All Date modified/created and accessed are the date of the capture, which I do not really need, since my tapes are 8 years old... !
Windows Photo Gallery sorts your photo and videos by date taken, but this does not seem to be possible with captured DV videos...
Now, it seems such a simple feature to have the DV date/time stamp to be translated into the file "Date Taken" field, I am wondering how to do that.
Is there a plugin? Is there a workflow I am missing in premiere? or AfterEffects?
The date/time stamp is embeddded in the DV stream, and I read that a AVI capture will simply copy the DV stream to the HD, so how do I extract / see that information?
And, really, how come such a critical information is so hard to work with? I mean, don't professional movie makers want to know precisely when video clips have been shot?
    Thank you
    regards

    Hi,
hmm, I use SCLive to capture and the filename becomes the date taken and are numbered sequentially...as it can capture different avi files every time it sees the camera was shut off and turned back on...like those become "scenes" in a way..a new avi file.  But the date and numbers reflect what youre talking about.  I never captured using cs3 which is what I use.  SCLive is actually "better" at capturing mini dv tapes.
As for movie making the slate gives you that info...and when you start the edit you rename the captured footage according to the slate..so the filenames reflect more readily what the stuff is...
    eg. " scene3-take3-cu " or "scene5-take2-master"...etc.

  • How to use rtp to transmit data other than audio / video

    hi all,
as you all know the jmf is based upon a specific paradigm:
data source -> player (processor) -> renderer.
i am not being very precise on this but that does not matter.
i want (for testing purposes) to create a tool that transmit some custom data
(maybe even nonsense) over the rtp packages.
so as you may now see this would not work quite right with the mentioned
paradigm since there would be no audio/video to play-process-render.
so how would i go about to utilise the rtp abilities of the jmf without adhering
    to the whole player-whatever shebang.
what i have figured out is that there is a way to transmit custom rtp-payload.
there is even an example on the jmf solutions page but even this one uses
    an audio format (pcm).
i hope what it is clear to the dear reader what i want to do and maybe some-
one can help me with this.
p.s. i am not one who wants to get the whole source code (like so many
others do on this forum) for a project someone may have done on this, what
i need is a hint in the right direction.
thanks for your attention and thanks in advance for any useful hints.

Hi, I would like to make some comments that may help
you to find out how to manage your problem.
If you have a look to the JMF 2.0 API, Guide,
"Understanding the JMF RTP API", Figure 8-2
    http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/guide/RTPArchitecture.html#105171
you can notice that the processor is not essential.
In this pciture, the processor is inserted between two datasources,
to let you perform some operations on the media that is read from
a file or a capture device.
But the SessionManager just needs a DataSource.
With what you say, I can imagine that you want to transmit
real-time data that is not related to standard media formats.
In principle, the only think you must do is to extend the
    javax.media.protocol.DataSource abstract class and implement
    it at your own convenience.
Once your custom class is written, you can call the SessionManager's
method createSendStream(DataSource ds, int streamindex) passing
for argument an instance of your mentioned custom implementation.
    Hope this helps.
    Good Luck ;-) !

  • Video playback in mixed (video and music) playlists

How can I set a video playlist to play both the songs and the videos (not just the audio from the video)? My 5G ipod would allow both video playback and songs from the video playlist menu. On my 160g classic, I only see/play the videos on the mixed playlists from the video playlist menu.

The 3ivX codec is in your quicktime library folder, normally: root/Library/QuickTime, but I don't think, that Apple encodes their movies with an unsupported codec. Maybe there is another unsupported codec in your library that creates the iTunes-stuttering or the reason for your problem is completely different. I paste here the content of my library folder. If you have anything else in your folder, quit Quicktime Player and iTunes (if they are running) , remove the plug-in and try your movie again in iTunes. Hope, this helps.

  • Date/Time in iPhoto Videos is WRONG

I just noticed that all the video clips generated by the automatic thumbnail have the Date/Time wrong, also they are all mixed up.
I have hundreds of clips and all of them display a Date from December 31/1904 (or 1903)
    HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED?
I know I can select Adjust Date/Time manually but is there a way of doing it automatically?
    Thanks

There is an application called "A Better Finder Attributes" that can set dates on files and do them in batches.
