Data pump for HR Jobs and HR positions for v11i

I am trying to use Datapump (v11i/11.5.2)
to load the data for HR Jobs and Hr Positions. I am loading HR_PUMP_BATCH_HEADER and HR_PUMP_BATCH_LINE TABLEs with records having required valid values but I am getting error. I have succefully loaded the employee data using same method before.
Have anybody done this ? PLase help.

I got the below from Metalink.
Pl. see whether it is helpful for you, since I have little knowledge about HRMS.
The HR_PUMP_BATCH_LINE_USER_KEYS table must be seeded with value in order for the package that follows to work. In some cases, the user must provide this value.
I ran into this problem when trying to run the create_job_requirement API through the Data Pump. Within my PL/SQL block, this is how I passed the value to my variable:
pv_id_flex_num_user_key := sel.sun_job_id| |sel.name| |sel.job_requirement_id| |sel.id_flex_num| |':ID FLEX NUM USER KEY';
I then performed the following after calling the insert_batch_line procedure and passing all the parameter values:
SELECT hpbl.batch_line_id,
coj_hr_ci.devl_seq_s.nextval,
coj_hr_ci.devl_seq_s.nextval
INTO v_batch_line_id,
v_sequence1,
v_sequence2
FROM hr_pump_batch_lines hpbl
WHERE hpbl.pval058 = pv_id_flex_num_user_key;
INSERT INTO hr_pump_batch_line_user_keys(batch_line_id,
unique_key_id,
user_key_id,
user_key_value)
VALUES(v_batch_line_id,
50141,
v_sequence2,
pv_id_flex_num_user_key);

I tried to buy this book online from rampant's official site but shipping cost was more than cost of book.
Book is not available on Flipkart and Amazon also

    Helios,
OP can send a mail to me too :-) .
    OP,
We are in talks with the publisher. In India, the book would be by another partner publisher and details of it I shall be updating when would be available. Thanks for the interest in our book.

  • Reconfigure one data pump extract into 4 and several replicats

    Hi
I have setup a basic replication for two database, source 9iR2 and target 11gR2 (same platform), the goal is to perform a zero downtime migration.
I have started from very basic configuration just to see how this works, one extract, one data pump and one replicat but I have observed some lagging problem so I think I might need to have more data pumps and more replicats.
How can I reconfigure current configuration to a multiple replicat and data pump configuration without neededing to reinstantiate the target database? I have looked into support note How to Merge Two Extract And Two Replicate Group To One Each, from one source DB to a target DB (Doc ID 1518039.1) but I need to do the reverse.
    Thanks in advance

Good example in the Apress book. Basically, stop extract, let pump and replicat finish the current stream, then split data pump and replicat as needed. Figure out where to start each pump and replicat with respect to the CSN.

  • What are the 'gotcha' for exporting using Data Pump(10205) from HPUX to Win

    Hello,
I have to export a schema using data pump from 10205 on HPUX 64bit to Windows 64bit same 10205 version database. What are the 'gotcha' can I expect from doing this? I mean export data pump is cross platform so this sounds straight forward. But are there issues I might face from export data pump on HPUX platform and then import data dump on to Windows 2008 platform same database version 10205? Thank you in advance.

On the HPUX database, run this statement and look for the value for NLS_CHARACTERSET
    SQL> select * from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS;http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/statviews_4218.htm#sthref2018
When creating the database on Windows, you have two options - manually create the database or use DBCA. If you plan to create the database manually, specify the database characterset in the CREATE DATABASE statement - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_5004.htm#SQLRF01204
If using DBCA, see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install.htm#ADMQS0021 (especially http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install.htm#BABJBDIF)

  • Uploads of Jobs and Positions

    Hi
So we had a little bit of an issue. We uploaded the jobs and the postiions and went live. However after about a month now the Compensation team wants to redo the jobs and the positions. The system is already live and PA and OM are interconnected.
    I want to ask
    1) Can we upload this once again - I mean the new jobs and positions
    2) What is the impact on the existing Org units jobs postions and persons. these are all we are using at present.
    3) What is the impact on the PA side.

    Thank you for your reply
We only have PA and OM live at present the payroll is going to be an external system with an interface to SAP.
Yes I agree that the impact will be high but going by the meeting I have been in the past week we will have to rework the existing jobs and positions.
So going by your suggestions should I delete all the objects created for jobs and positions and the relationships first and then upoad the new jobs and positions into the system.
    To give you an example
We have manager as jobs - and postion probably as HR manager.
What the business wants to do is have HR manager as the job and the local title used in other countries as the positions.
e.g HRIS manager as the position. I know this is not the ideal way but that is the w=only way we can accomodate all the countries requirements.
Now in IT 0001 there is the relationship between PA and OM. THe SAP position numbers may change for the employee. Could you recommend how do I link up the employees again, or would I need to reload the PA's also.

  • INCLUDE & EXCLUDE in Data Pump

Any reason why DATA PUMP does not allow INCLUDE parameter when you have the EXCLUDE parameter in your statement and vice versa?

"Data Pump offers much greater metadata filtering than original Export and Import. The INCLUDE parameter allows you to specify which object (and its dependent objects) you want to keep in the export job. The EXCLUDE parameter allows you to specify which object (and its dependent objects) you want to keep out of the export job. You cannot mix the two parameters in one job. Both parameters work with Data Pump Import as well, and you can use different INCLUDE and EXCLUDE options for different operations on the same dump file."

  • Data Pump Consistent parameter?

    Hi All,
Is there any consistent parameter in data pump as it is in exp/imp.
Becuase we are using data pump for backups and want to disable consitenct parameter.
Please let me know how I can disable consistent parameter in Data Pump.
    Thanks

if it;s not backup method then How you do the logical
    full database backup????
From my thinking it's called logical DB backup (when
u are using exp or expdp)There are many reasons that export shouldn't be used as backup method,
    1. It's very slow to do export on huge database ( which you already experiencing) the import will take much longer.
    2. You only have a 'snapshot' of your database at time of backup, in the event of disaster, you will lost all data changes after backup.
    3. It has performance impact on busy database ( which you also experiencing)
Other than all these, if you turn CONSISTENT to N, your 'logic' backup is logically corrupted.

  • Can we load data in chunks using data pump ?

We are loading data using data pump. So I want to clear my understanding.
Please correct me if I am wrong on my understandings -
ODI will fetch all data from source (whether it is INIT or CDC ) in one go and unload into staging area.
If it is true, will performance hamper in case very huge data (50 million records at source) at source as ODI tries to load entire data in one go. I believe it will give better performance if we load in chunks using data pump.
    Please confirm and correct.
Also I would like to know how can we configure chunk load using data-pump.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Dinesh.

You may consider usingLKM Oracle to Oracle (datapump)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/integrate.1111/e12644/oracle_db.htm#r15c1-t2
In 11g ODI reads from source and write to target in parallel. This is the case where you specify select query in source command and insert/update query in the target command. At source side Odi reads records from source and add them to a data queue. At target side a parallel thread reads data from the data queue and writes to the target. So the overall performance would be the slower of the read or write process.
    Thanks,

  • Data Pump - expdp and slow performance on specific tables

    Hi there
I have af data pump export af a schema. Most of the 700 tables is exported very quickly (direct path) but a couple of them seems to be extremenly slow.
    I have chekced:
    - no lobs
    - no long/raw
    - no VPD
    - no partitions
    - no bitmapped index
    - just date, number, varchar2's
    I'm runing with trace 400300
But I'm having trouble reading the output from it. It seems that some of the slow performning tables is runinng with method 4??? Can anyone find an explanation for the method in the trace:
    1 > direct path (i think)
    2 > external table (i think)
    4 > ?
    others?
I have done some stats using v$filestat/v$session_wait (history) - and it seems that we always wait for DB seq file read - and doing lots and lots of SINGLEBLKRDS. Not undo is read
    I have a table 2.5 GB -> 3 minutes
and then this (in my eyes) similar table 2.4 GB > 1½ hrs.
    There are 367.000 blks (8 K) and avg rowlen = 71

  • Oracle Export Data pump API - job already exists

    Hi all,
I use stored procedure and using data pump API for export and import. I use simple schema export from http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10825/dp_api.htm . It works on the first executing, but the second time
I found the error ORA-31634: job already exists.
At the first running I check the Job state from dba_datapump_jobs master table, and it stated DEFINING after process completed.
    why is it happened?
    Really thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Mr.K

My question go in direction to:
    1. Did I something wrong with Data Pump Utility?I do not think so. But may be with the existing schema :-(
    2. How is the correct way to export and import
sequences that they keep their actual values? If the Sequences exist in the target before the import, oracle does not drop and recreate it. So you need to ensure that the sequences do not already exist in the target or the existing ones are dropped before the import.
    3. When the behaviour described here is correct, how
can I correct the values that start again from the
last value that was used in the source database? You can either refresh with the import after the above correction or drop and manually recreate the sequences to START WITH the NEXT VALUE of the source sequences.
The easier way is to generate a script from the source if you know how to do it
