Data retrival frm 2 different Clients

Hi! Friends
I'm having two different clients and i need fetch data from one client and store it in another client and proceed further.
Is there any option to retrieve data?
whether RFC helps to perform this action if so kindly guide me with the steps to create and call such an RFC.
Proto:
Server1:              Event                                                             Server2

Data extraction from different clients

Hi ,
I am extracting the from R/3 810 to BI 800 client . Is it possible to do the extraction from diffenrent clients ? While extracting the data at infosource level transfer rules structure is pointing to flatfile source system instead of sap source system by default and i am getting error like Transfer rules are not activated (But tranfer rules Activated/Saved ) . Please guide me .

Hi Udaya,
Off cource you can load from as many clients as you want. I think in your case transfer structure is referring to more than one source system. If you drop down the Source system (option in transfer structure) you will find more than one source system. Select the source system that you want and activate the infosource again. It should fine after that.

Master data number in different clients.

Dear Friends,
We are using BI7.00. For one of our PM user requirement, we have made a report which will fetch the data of the measuring document against each measuring point. Since i want to restrict the report only to 4 measuring points, i have created 4 specific measuring points and restricted it in the Bex query.
Now my problem is with the number that is assigned to the measuring point in the R/3 side. In the development client of R/3 the number assigned will be for example 1,2,3,4 and in Quality client of R/3 the number will not be the same it will be for example 10,11,12,13 and the same in Production client of R/3 will be 41,42,43,44 for example.
In the above condition, if i want the query to run in BI production, i will have to change the query with the restriction for 41,42,43,44 and if i want to execute the same report in Quality of BI then i will have to change the query with restriction on 10,11,12,13 and similarly in development.
If the numbers are not changed then data pertaining to some other measuring point will be reported.
This process requires often change to the query -> which i believe is not good designing.
Can experts provide apt solution to adopt my requirement. I do not want to tamper with the query to change the numbers.
Note:- The external numbering option in R/3 side is not available for measuring points, hence system assigns its own number based on defined number ranges.

How would you decide your measuring point in the master data?
I asked this question because even if the numbers are chaging very often, is there any way to decide which measuring points (records out of master data) you want to report? If yes, you can add one more attribute as a part of master data and populate its value say X and then restrict only that value in your report.
You can populate this X while loading data and your logic you can defind in the transformation rule.

Idoc data comparison between different R/3 clients.

Hi ppl ,
Is there a way idoc comparison can be done between different clients without going
by Segment by Segment comparison ?
I have a requirement wherein i have thousands of idocs in QA system and i need to
compare those with the ones in PROD system. The segments in the idocs may vary
depending on the data that flows from the third party system which will post idocs in R/3.
So, the segment wise comparison of data is also ruled out .
Do we have any standard reports which will help in achieving this purpose ?
Please let me know how the idoc data comparison can be carried out .

Hi Nick,
There is no standared tools available for comparing the data of two idocs.
By using beyond compare s/w you can check the data, but the thing is you have to download the idoc data to file format.
By using Idoc_xml_transform function module you can download idoc data to xml format, after you can compare.

Export transnational data into different client

Dear All Expertise's,
For our Management Audit purpose we have needed urgently copy all FI transnational data into different client in particular year.
As an example:
Source Client: 888
Target client: 700
Company: 1000
Year: 2013
FI Documents type: All
Please help me to get the solution use form your great advice.
SCC8/SCC7 can give us copy all records client to client. But we need only specific company/periods.

i need solution to append the data coming from different files.

i need to append the data coming from files to single file which consist of single header and data records from all the four files.
Using assign activity to append the Data Record. but not able to force the data to write in the target location

but i need to append data from different files..eliminating the header from second file..
i am invoking the write adapter out of the while loop..
this seems some problem while writing..its looking for data records still..

Problem with storing and retriving a different langauge font in mysql

i have problem with storing and retriving a different character set in
mysql database ( for example storing kannada font text in database)
it simply store what ever typed in JTextField in database in the
formate ??????????? and it showing ???????? .

MySQL does not know about what type of Font you use or store. that is applicatioon specific. All it knows is the character set that you are storing and the data type and data. THere are something you should know when working with database and Java:
1. make sure you know what character set is used for the database table.
2. make sure you know what character set is used by Java (default to UTF-8 ..
sort off - there are few character that it cannot save). You can enforce the
character set being sent to the database by the String's getBytes(String charsetName) method.
3. make sure the application you use to view the table use the correct character set
if it use a different character set, then any character that it does not recogized
will be replaced with a quetion mark '?'....eventhough the data is correct.

Error When Run ABAP Query in Different Client

Hi ABAPers,
Currently I develop ABAP Query using SQ01 / SQ02 / SQ03.
Everything goes well, and I have already test that the query work well. The query can be execute and show the result correctly.
My peer in same SAP system, but different client, run the same query. As I know that query is same with ABAP program which is client independent, can be execute across client. But then the runtime error show up.
The error said that
Exception condition "NO_POSITION_FOUND" raised.
Can anybody told me what's happened here, and how can I resolve this problem?

Hi,
Since you are testing it in other client,i think due to data inconsistency you are getting that error.
Try to check the corresponding tables in both clients and can verify.

Livecache on different clients

Hi,
I am using APO for two different clients. It is working fine for the original one, but I am having different issues (see below) when I CIF the transtactional data.
What should I consider for Livecache being shared on different clients?
Issues
- Multi-level error propagation carried out
- Error when reading ATP delta records: Error calling function module /sapapo/cif_help_object_show in system AAQCLNT500 : Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised. Message no. XC016
- Message no. SR053
- LC error;
Considerations already done:
- Logical systems
- RFC connections
- Same Business system group.
Any recommendation will be very valuable for me.

the installation is done in client 000.
You then do post-installation and configuration for each client - AC needs to do a connection to each client individually in order to separate the results (risk analysis, provisioning).

Master Data modeling with data from several source clients

Hi people,
We have a modeling issue at hand..
From several R/3 sources, separated as Clients (eg. client 100, 101, 102 etc.) we will load data (transactional and Master Data) to one BW system.
Now, I am wondering what is the best way to avoid Master Data issues here, when data can be different for the same objects in the various source systems (clients)
Example:
In source client 100, 0MATERIAL 1000 = PLASTIC
In source client 101, 0MATERIAL 1000 = WOOD
I have tried to understand how compounding with 0SOURCESYSTEM works, but I can't see how that will work for us, since we may have several clients on the same sourcesystem (e.g. client 100 and 101 can be on the same system). This would not help me separate the masterdata.
- Does anyone have experience with this they could share?
- Is it a possibility to add 0LOGSYS or something to our InfoObjects that we will load?
- Do we then add the InfoObject to the cube in the end?
Any inputs that can clarify this is appreciated. Points awarded ofcourse!

Hi,
Donot go with one server to define it as a source system .I mean ,Even though you have only one R/3 server . you have 3 clients in it. So go with Clients to define the source systems.
So in BIW You must have 3 different source systems in Source system tree. Am I irght?
So all of them has different logical system names.
So use 0LOGSYS as compounding characterstic.

Problem with RFC call between different clients. Plesae help!

 I have a RFC enabled function module in one SAP instance 'A' where the client is 130. I am trying to call this function module from another SAP systen 'N' where client is 220. RFC destination has been set in 'N' system.
The RFC functin module pulls data fromm a custom table. For a given input it is puuling data in 'A' system.
But when I call it from 'N' system with the same input it is not pulling the data.
I feel the problem is with teh different clients.
please help me how to resolve this.
Is there any setting in RFC destination?

Ofcourse there is.
2. The tcode is sm59.
3. Where u have maintained in system 'N',
 we have to specify
 a) Server 'A'
 b) Client Number 130
4. So while calling from N(220),
 it will connect A(130)
 and fetch data from A(130) only.

Integration with modules in different clients

Hi Experts,
We are designing a PS solution and its integration with MM and CO modules. The difficulty comes as these modules are maintained in a different client than the PS module. My questions are:
Is there any standard mechanism that SAP provides to make this integration out of the box?
For business strategy reasons we may have to choose a PI based integration scenario. Given that we have retreived the values we need from the different clients, how can we avoid the standard checks SAP performs before saving the data?
Have anyone experienced this situation before? Could you explain the main difficulties that you faced?

Not really,
in the past we had a split to:
Box with masterdata
Box for sales and purchasing
Box for Finance
In the master data I see still things like Logical System ( D00CLNT100)
We went go back to 1 box and had to upload the data from the"old" boxes to 1 box.
Perhaps you can better put this question in the technical forum, It should be possible what you want

Different Clients

On the R/3 side on Dev box we have two clients 100 and 101
on Q box we have two clients 200 and 201
Now the Scenario we have is File to IDOC. We are using XI as the middleware
Now in the XI dev box, I have configured the scenario in such a way to deliver the file content to the clients 100 and 101. Its working fine and all the testings are OK in Dev Box.
Now my scenario from Dev needs to be moved to QA Box. But since the R/3 clients are different compared to Dev, I am little confused.
Any suggestion or any input.

Don't worry!
What you need to do is:
1. First of all export your objects from Dev and it will be saved as .tpz file. Now go to QA system and imort this .tpz file. By doing this your Integration Repository part is done. I mean your data type, message type, message mapping & interface mapping complete.
2. Now here in Integration Directory you need to create new configuration scenario, new communication channel etc. in short you have to do full configuration.
So here in ID when you are doing new configuration of everthing then there is no question of different clients. Both (client 200 & 201) will work fine as they were working in your Dev system.
