Data Source Catalog SRM

Dear All,
Iu2019m using Catalog in SRM 5.5.
I need to realize a query BI 7.0 to MD Catalog, but I donu2019t find any data source standard from SRM system.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? I donu2019t find any SAP note on the subject.
Thank you in advance,
Alberto

Hi Jason, you're right!
I do not know exactly the operation of SRM extractors.
But I know that the Catalogs are loaded from the SRM and the data does not reside in the back end.
I have already used the extractors Shopping Cart and Purchase Orders that work properly but I do not know what  extractors start (also enhancement later) to pull out the data of Catalogs.
From SBIW I found  only extractor of heads of catalogs: 0BBP_CAT_ID_TEXT.
This, however, only extracts of the text catalogs but without the hierarchy of levels below.
You know there is something that works for MDM-SRM Catalog or some documentation about it on the tables that SRM uses in order to?
Thank you very much,
Alberto

  • Warning while activating data source 0BBP_TD_CONTR_2

    Hi Friends,
    We are installing some business content data source from SRM system and while activating the data source of purchasing contracts (0BBP_TD_CONTR_2) we are getting the below warning message
    "The even-numbered length of the DEC field PS_TH_AVAIL_AMT can lead to problems".
    We have checked the field PS_TH_AVAIL_AMT and found its having the length of 20. Also it seems to be an standard field its not allowing us to change the size
    Though we can consider its an warning we have received only 0 records in the extractor (RSA3) even  the data source is in active state in RSA6..  Data is not being fetched due to the above warnings?
    Please suggest and help us on this if someone have faced the similar kind of issue..
    Regards,
    Saravanan.M

    That warning not causing as of now.
    Ask your source team to maintain some data and later do the extraction at RSA3.
    But in future it may cause if your field PS_TH_AVAIL_AMT value  is more length than defined.
    So ask your source team and find what is the maximum length of that value going to use/enter at source side.AS i know source team may enter the value as per the limits. But if you fill that field thru any calculations that may causes you.
    Even there itself it mentioned SAP note. so please go thru that and use it in future if caused field PS_TH_AVAIL_AMT length.

  • SRM Sourcing Catalog

    Hi SRM team,
    Any Idea how to build the logic for the below requirement.
    Implementing carry out sourcings. Requirement is to add sourcing catalog to work area. During this process I need to capture these four fields Partner_prod, Partner, unit, and price and convert in to XML file.
    I have implemented BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI badi and method BBP_SC_CHANGE .
    With in that BADI I need to convert above 4 fields into XML file format and submit to third party tool by posting to their URL.
    I am not aware this procee. Can you send me the methods or FM to convert my data into XML and
    send it to third party tool by using their URL.
    Is there any special methods to submit converted XML document to third party tool.
    I will appreciate if you can send me the code.
    Thanks,
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
    I am not entirely sure what your are looking at doing but maybe the MAP_XML_TO_ITABS function could help, it is the internal function used to map XML data passed in HTML forms and then mapped to OCI structure.
    Not too sure if this will in any way help though.

    Hi Raghu,
    I had the same problem here. I was working with OBIEE 10.1.3.2, after a lot of searching an reading decided to upgrade to 10.1.3.3 and the problem was solved.

  • Data source 0BBP_TD_SC_APPR_1 - delta update in SRM

    Hello,
    I use 0BBP_TD_SC_APPR_1 data source. I have made the delta initialisation with the data transfer into the ODS. Worked fine: data is in and the delta is initialised.
    The problem is, that the delta queue is never updated in the SRM (RSA7).
    Do you know how this works? Is there an additional report (as RMBW* in R/3 LIS)? Or are there any restrictions for the workflow?
    Any help is welcome.
    Best regards,
    Michal

    A 'higher-level' datasource 0BBP_TD_SC_1 was not active.

  • Crystal ActiveX Runtime Lib: Change text data source path at run time.

    We have some PCs running Crystal Reports 10 and some running CR 9 and 8.5. For each PC, we set up a System DSN ODBC data source (in Control Panel - Administrative Tools) for pulling data from text files to
    generate reports.
    Recently we wrote some routines (see the Visual Basic example at the
    end of this message) to change the path of the data files at runtime.
    According to the Crystal Reports Technical Reference Guide, we may use
    the method LogOnServer() of an Application object or an DatabaseTable
    object. However, we find that this does not work: the PrintOut()
    method only pulls data from the default path as configured for the
    System DSN, not from the path passed as the third parameter of
    LogOnServer(). It does not return any error message.
    We have also tried to use SetTableLocation() method, and it still does
    not work.
    Would any experts examine our code below and advise what we are missing? Thanks.
    For the following VB example, we have:
    System DSN Name: AP_WORKSHEET
    Driver: Microsoft Text Driver
    Database Directory: D:\0ood2 (i.e. the default path)
    Crystal Report Document: D:\3g\run\Vision\apcyto\Reports\crBlockWS.rpt
    (Which specifies that the data source text file name is BlockWS.txt)
    Purpose : We would like to read the data source text file from
    D:\0ood1 instead of the default path.
    Following is the code of the VB macro:
    Sub test()
    Rem In this version of the subroutine, we call
    Rem DatabaseTable.LogOnServer() and "Rem"ed out
    Rem Application.LogOnServer() and SetTableLocation().
    Rem We have un"Rem"ed each of them and "Rem"ed others and try to run.
    Rem In all runs, data are pulled from the default file
    Rem D:\0ood2\BlockWS.txt instead of D:\0ood1\BlockWE.txt.

    Set crxDB = crxRep.Database
    Set crxTab = crxRep.Database.Tables(1)
    apropConnBufStr = crxTab.ConnectBufferString
    apropSubLoc = crxTab.SubLocation
    crxDB.LogOnServer "p2sodbc.dll", "AP_WORKSHEET", "<CRWDC>DBQ=D:\0ood1",
    Rem crxTab.SetTableLocation "D:\0ood1\BlockWS.txt", apropSubLoc, "DSN="
    Rem Set crxConnPs = crxTab.ConnectionProperties
    Rem Set crxConnP = crxConnPs.Item("DSN")

    End Sub
    For VB macros, the problem exists in all of CR 8.5, 9 and 10. However,
    for another platform we are using, Unify Vision 4GL, it works for CR
    8.5 while not working for CR 9 and 10.

  • ODBC Data Source Error

    I was having with Crystal communicating with one of my Access databases that had a list box. In Crystal it would take the list box, add and remove letters. It was suggested that I check with my IT department to see if there are any updates. Well they upgraded me from Crystal XI to Crystal XI R2. Things have gone downhill from there. First I couldnu2019t even open the program and they ended up reinstalling everything again. Now I can open Crystal, but all reports I previously created and new ones I try to create cannot make any connection through ODBC. My IT person and I have tried several things even installing a couple new drivers. My IT department does not provide technical support for software so now Iu2019m on my own to figure this out. If anyone can provide me with any assistance or any suggestions where to check I would greatly appreciate it.
    My problem is any time I try to make an ODBC connection to either create or update a report I go through the steps and get an error at the connection information page and cannot go any further. This error happens with MS Access or MS Excel.  The error is "Login Failed. Details: Cannot obtain error message from server. I have no logins or passwords.

    In the Organizer workspace, do a
    File > Catalog > Recover
    command. That command "cleans up" your Elements catalog and often resolves ODBC data source error messages.

  • Couldn't fetch the data from the data source...[nQSError: 16023]

    Hi all.
    I think that the problem I want to discuss is well-known, but still I got no answer whatever I tried ...
    I installed the BIEE on Linux (32 bit, OEL 5 - to be more precise), the complete installation was not a big deal. After that I installed the Administration tool on my laptop and created the repository. So... my tnsnames.ora on the laptop looks like this:
    TESTDB =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.1.5)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = testdb)
    And the tnsnames.ora on server, in its turn, looks like this:
    TESTDB =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost.localdomain)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = testdb.localdomain)
    The database worked normally and I created and transferred the repository to the server and started it up.
    It started without any errors, but when I tried to fetch the data via the representation services I got the error:
    Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.
    [nQSError: 16023] The ODBC function has returned an error. The database may not be available, or the network may be down. (HY000)
    I discovered, that the ODBC on my laptop was named not correctly (it should have been identical to tnsnames entry) - so I corrected it, saved and replaced the repository on the server and restarted it... - and still got the same error.
    Apparently, something is wrong with the data source. So let me put here some more information...
    My user.sh looks like this:
    ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/ora/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
    export ORACLE_HOME
    TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
    export TNS_ADMIN

    export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

    Can anybody point a finger where the error line is? According to the documentation it should work fine.Maybe the driver name is wrong? What driver I need then?
    Cause I can't find it.
    I'm really sorry to bother, guys :) Let me know if you get some ideas about it (metalink didn't help).

    OK, several things wrong here. First the odbc.ini is not meant to be used for Oracle databases, that's not supported on Linux. On Linux you should OCI (Oracle native drivers) and nothing should be added on odbc.ini. Your user.sh seems to be pointing to your DB installation path. This is not correct. It should point to your Oracle client installation so you need to install the Oracle FULL client somewhere. Typically this is normally done with the same OS account as the one used for OBIEE whereas the DB normally runs with the oracle account. Once you got the client installed test it under the OBIEE account doing tnsping and sqlplus to your DB. Also the LD_LIBRARY_PATH should point to $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 not lib as the lib directory is the 64bits and OBIEE uses the 32bits libraries even in 64bits OSes. Finally change your RPD connection to use OCI. Make all those changes and you should be good.

  • Using sql bulk copy throwing exception -The given value of type String from the data source cannot be converted to type int of the specified target column

    Hi All,
    I am reading notepads files and inserting data in sql tables from the notepad-

    //table name needs to extract after = sign

    Issue 1:-
    I am reading notepad: getting all column and values in my data table now while inserting for date and time or integer field i need to do explicit conversion how to write for specific column before bulkcopy.WriteToServer(dt);
    Issue 2:- Notepad does not contains all columns nor in specific sequence in that case i can add few column ehich i am doing now but the issue is now data table will add my columns + notepad columns and while inserting how to assign in perticular colums?
    sudhanshu sharma Do good and cast it into river :)

    Hi,
    I think you'll have to do an explicit column mapping if they are not in exact sequence in both source and destination.
    Have a look at this link:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqlclient.sqlbulkcopycolumnmapping(v=vs.110).aspx
    Good Luck!

  • Using an SAS2008 Cube as a data source for BI Publisher errors

    Hi All,
    I am trying to use a SAS 2008 cube as a data source for a report in BI Publisher. When I defined the data source under the admin section I gave it the following details:
    Data Source=ntsasqa01;Provider=msolap.3;Initial Catalog=WWPR_SMG
    With a username / password that has access to the cube.
    When I try and test the connection the OC4J instance stops running and the test does not finish or error. If I use the data source and then setup a report and then try and view data I get an error like the one below:
    /app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll (     0509-022 Cannot load module /app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll.
         0509-103 The module has an invalid magic number.)
    I am not sure if the error is related to the initial issue of not being able to complete the test.
    I need to find a solution though as I have to make use of MDX to access the cubes.
    Please could someone give me some advice.
    Thanks,

    Hi Kim
    1. SAS cubes are not currently supported - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf. Unless SAS cubes can use the MS drivers?
    2. If you try and pursue it you might check the permissions on the ddll in the error to ensure you have rights over it.
    Either way you are not supported with a SAS cube so you are kinda on your own. Sorry I dont use SAS so Im not going to be much help other than stating the obvious :0)

  • WAS 6.1 JNDI data source connection CRXI R2 Developer

    Hi all,
    I've been tasked to get a JNDI connection from a WAS 6.1 server to a Oracle DB to use in developing a report.
    The CR developer I'm using is CR Developer;Product Type: Full Product Version: 11.0.0.1282
    I have created a simple Java 'main' class to test the JNDI connection using the following jars:
    com.ibm.ws.admin.client_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.runtime_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.thinclient_6.1.0.jar
    ibmorb.jar
    ojdbc-14.jar
    rsadbutils.jar
    rsahelpers.jar
    I have been able to retrieve data from the Oracle DB through the 'main' class and display it on the console.
    However, after I set the CRConfig.xml file's classpath to use these jars, along with a jar I created that contains a jndi.properties file that contains the org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.ibm.CORBA.iiop.ORB property because the JVM that the CR developer is pointing at is a Sun 1.6 HotSpot JVM.
    When I try getting the connection, Database -> Database Expert -> Create New Connection -> JDBC (JNDI), select the JNDI Connection option and enter the relevant information, the developer finds the JNDI names that I'm looking for. Then I 'Click' the Finish button and receive the following error pop-up:
    Logon Failed.
    Details: SQL Exception: SQL State: null ERROR Message: Invalid argument(s) in callDSRA0010E: SQL State= null, Error Code = 17,068 Database Vendor Code: 17068
    I have noticed that I can replicate this error message, through the 'main' class I used to test the connection, if I remove the username/password arguments from the method I use to get the DB connection.
    Is there anything that I'm missing to successfully use this WAS data source?
    I have tested a WebLogic 10.3 connection and the CR Developer had no problem finding/using the connection?
    Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
    Below is the JDBC tag from the CRConfig.xml file that I'm using:
    <JDBC>
         <CacheRowSetSize>100</CacheRowSetSize>
         <JDBCURL></JDBCURL>
         <JDBCClassName></JDBCClassName>

              <DatabaseStructure>catalogs,tables</DatabaseStructure>
              <StoredProcType>Standard</StoredProcType>
              <LogonStyle>Oracle</LogonStyle>
         </GenericJDBCDriver>
    </JDBC>
    Thanks in Advance

  • I've got an error when trying to programmatically set a CrystalReports data-source

    I've got the following existing process that I needed to add to in order to programmatically set the data-source (server, database, username, and password) from a config.xml file.
    I added the ‘addDBConnection’ and ‘searchConfig’ parts, and this seems to be updating the existing this._report object, but I’m getting the following error and can’t figure out what is happening.
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Xml.Linq;
    using CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine;
    using WGS.Reports.Reports;
    using CrystalDecisions.Shared;
    using WGS.Reports.Forms;
    namespace WGS.Reports
        public class ReportService
            ReportClass _report;
            ParameterFields paramFields;
            public ReportService()
            public void DisplayReport(string reportName, int allocationNo)
                if (reportName.ToLower() == "allocationexceptions")
                    this._report = new AllocationExceptions();
                    addDBConnection(this._report);
                    PrepareAllocationExceptionReport(allocationNo);
                    this.DisplayReport();
            private void addDBConnection(ReportDocument report)
                //Get connection parameters from config.xml file
                string servername = searchConfig("SERVER");
                string databasename = searchConfig("CATALOG");
                string userid = searchConfig("USER");
                string password = searchConfig("PASSWORD");
                //Loop through each table in the Report and subReports, and apply the new login information
                foreach (Table cTable in report.Database.Tables)
                    TableLogOnInfo loi = cTable.LogOnInfo;
                    loi.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = servername;
                    loi.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = databasename;
                    loi.ConnectionInfo.UserID = userid;
                    loi.ConnectionInfo.Password = password;
                    cTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(loi);
                foreach (ReportDocument subReport in report.Subreports)
                    foreach (Table cTable in subReport.Database.Tables)
                        TableLogOnInfo loi = cTable.LogOnInfo;
                        loi.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = servername;
                        loi.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = databasename;
                        loi.ConnectionInfo.UserID = userid;
                        loi.ConnectionInfo.Password = password;
                        cTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(loi);
            private void PrepareAllocationExceptionReport(int allocationNo)
                this.paramFields = new ParameterFields();
                this.paramFields.Clear();
                ParameterField paramField = new ParameterField { ParameterFieldName = "@AllocationNo" };
                ParameterDiscreteValue discreteVal = new ParameterDiscreteValue { Value = allocationNo };
                paramField.CurrentValues.Add(discreteVal);
                paramFields.Add(paramField);
            private void DisplayReport()
                frmReportViewer showReport = new frmReportViewer();
                showReport.ReportViewer.ReportSource = this._report;
                showReport.ReportViewer.ParameterFieldInfo = paramFields;
                showReport.ShowDialog();
                showReport.Dispose();
            private string searchConfig(string searchText)
                XDocument doc = XDocument.Load("Config.xml");
                string returnValue = "";
                var list = from x in doc.Descendants("param")
                           select new
                               Item = x.Descendants("item").First().Value,
                               Value = x.Descendants("value").First().Value
                foreach (var item in list)
                    if (item.Item == searchText) returnValue =item.Value;
                    //Console.WriteLine("Item ({0}) has a value of {1}", item.Item, item.Value);
                return returnValue;
    Am I trying to do this wrong, or do I need to do more to add the correct connection information?
    Any help would be very much appreciated.

    The code looks good - as long as the variables are correct. (You may want to consider hard coding the logon values as part of your troubleshooting steps).
    Database Vendor Codes are passed by the DB client through the report engine unmodified. E.g.; look at your database documentation for the error. I did not find anything googling the error, so do check the db docs.
    If that does not help, let us know the following:
    Does the report work in the designer?
    What version of CR? Including any Service Packs applied.
    What version of .NET?
    What database?
    How are you connecting to the database? (32 or 64 bit?)

  • Unable to collect Update/Transfer rules Info & Data sources from BI content

    Hi,
    We are tyring to activate Infoprovider 0PY_CO2 from BI content by selecting the option - In data before. BI is unable to collect all corresponding objects such as Update rules, Info source, transfer rules and the data source for the selected Infoprovider. Only Info area and associated info objects are being collected for the installation.
    We are experiencing same problem whilst acitvating most of the info providers. However, in some cases, either of these objects get activated but not all the necessary objects that feed data to the Infoprovider (cube or multi provider).
    Also, Infopackages and Info object catalogs are not being collected for any objects activated/installed so fare from the BI content.
    We are trying to activate BW 3.5 content on the BI 7.0 environment. BI Content release is 703 and support pack level is 008.
    Kindly share any pointers to troubleshoot this probelm please.
    Thanks
    Venkat

    Shiv,
    For some Info providers, all associated info objects(including transfer & update rules and info source and data sources) are getting collected and got successfuly installed. But this is true for only 10% of the Info providers that we have installed so far.
    Remaining all the objects, we are unable to proceed further.
    Thanks
    Venkat.

  • Which user id is used in each data source?

    Using SQ: SSRS 2008 R2 - Beginner - Is there a report or query that provides which user ID is associated with the data source of each report? I need to be able to list out all the data sources being used and which user id is being used in the data source

    Thank you - This is useful - but the username column is encrypted - how do I unencrypt
    as per my knowledge there is no way to decrypt it and below link confirm my understanding :)but there is work around also that have shared on technet;
