Data values on 3D graph
Hi
i am able to show data values on all graphs but how to show same on 3D graph in RTF format... as i have already tried same code in Alt Text tab of 3D chart graph but it is not showing up the data values....
Help me to how can i show data values on 3D graph.
thanks & regards

SAP Dashboards - Area graph- Data values display - x-axis 1st value is not showing
Hi
Not able to show the first data value in area graph. 2500 is not showing in the chart...remaining values able to display...
Kindly let us know, is there any specific setting to be done....Hi sunil,
Your question has the answer. When we display same data in line chart or bar chart, you have the space to start displaying the value. But in this case the area chart will accumulate the whole chart to show the lagging & leading data from the start to end, so you cannot view the initial value to display. If this chart doesn't suits your requirement you can go with other charts.
The workaround will be like, if the month's are static like will you be displaying all twelve months in this chart then i would request you to take twelve text components in top of the chart or in any comfortable space where you can bind those value.
Hope this information is helpful. -
Setting the series color of a bi beans graph based on the data values
How do I conditionally set the series color of a bi beans graph based on the data values?
I am using the following code to get the data values and set the series color:
Graph gr=(Graph)CmdrDashboardP1_pres1.getView();
DataAccess da=gr.getGraphModel().getDataAccess();
DataDirector dd=gr.getDataDirector();
DataMap dm=dd.getDataMap();
int re=dd.ROW_EDGE;
int ce=dd.COLUMN_EDGE;
Object val=da.getValue(re,ce,dm.DATA_TYPE);
int seriesCount=da.getEdgeCurrentSlice(DataDirector.ROW_EDGE);
if (val <=45.0)
gr.getSeries().setColor(new Color(255,0,0),seriesCount);
I get a NullPointerException from the line of code "Object val=da.getValue(re,ce,dm.DATA_TYPE)." I have tried the code with DATA_UNFORMATTED as well, but get the same exception. When I print the DataMap value of dm the results are [dataUnformatted, dataViewFormat, value, dataIsTotal, dataType].
Also, I get the error "method <= (java.lang.Object,double) not found in class _CmdrDashboardP1" from the "if (val <=45.0)" code.

When I try to use 'Stacked Column Bar'. with data assigned in the graphs, and want to see it in the 'Preview' mode in Xeclsius, I unable to see the graphs apart from the Axes ans Series Value, the graphs becomes totally invisible why So ?
Hi Ranendra,
For basic understanding of Dashboards and Models you can use standard Templates or samples which ll come along with dashboard designer(Formly Xcelsius) installation.
For path File-->Templates(or Samples).
Under Templates you ll have different categories and for each you ll find the dashboard Templates.

I am new at writing vi's and hope you may be able to help. I would like to create a vi that will graph measurements taken from a daq device. I would like to include text data that a user can choose from (example: machine number, test circuit, load cell type) that will stay with the graph so when the graph is viewed at a later time the text data (explaining parts of the graph) will display with the graph data. I have included a vi I am using to capture and display a force value. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
Attachments:
force.vi 500 KBWhat you want is a DATALOG file:
When you save a file, use the BUNDLE function to bundle your machine number, test circuit, whatever (include a few spare fields), plus your graph data. Get the graph data from the source, or use a local variable of the graph itself.
Wire the bundle output to the DATALOG TYPE of a NEW FILE function. (I presume you'll use a FILE DIALOG set to SAVE FILE to choose a file path).
Write the same bundle output to the DATA input of a WRITE FILE function.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to (ahem) close the file.
When you want to read a file, use a FILE DIALOG set to EXISTING FILE (or some other means) to specify what file to read. Wire the same cluster type to the DATALOG TYPE of the FILE DIALOG, so that it will only
offer files of the correct type.
When you have a file path chosen, wire the bundle to the DATALOG TYPE input of a FILE OPEN operation.
Use a FILE READ to read a single cluster - the output of FILE READ will be a cluster of the right type.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to....
Out of the FILE READ function, you can UNBUNDLE BY NAME the data and send to the graph and the other fields, or, if you're clever, you can use a cluster on the screen, and not unbundle it. That's harder though, since you probably want the text fields to be controls (inputs) and the graph to be an indicator (output).
Hope that helps.

Decimal format time value to convert into time (hr:min:sec)value in a graph
I need to develop a graph in WAD, in BW7. In the graph the value must be showed as HR:MIN:SEC, which I cannot get it right.
The keyfigure value carries the duration(hr:min:sec) in decimal format. In the query, I use this keyfigure for calculation. To get the time broadcasted for a week range. I get the total duration (say 507835.000). Now I need to convert this value back to hr:min:sec. I use the below formulas to get the hr, min, sec.
D = 507835
Val1 = D/3600
Val2 = Frac(val1)
Val3 = Val2 * 60
Val4 = frac(Val3) * 60
Hr = Val1 Val2
Min = Val3 frac(Val3)
Sec = Val4
In another formula in the query I add Hr + Min/100 + Sec/10000 to get hr.minsec format.
When I do an average on count of weeks, this doesnt round off correctly.
I tried to also use the Data function TIME() which when the time is > 24 hrs changes the value.
Lets say if it is 39:00:00, it shows value as 15:00:00 instead of keeping the value 39:00:00.
When I used this value in the graph it did not show the HR:MIN:SEC values in the value axis instead it showed 0.0, 0.1, .1.0. Bcoz of this the graph is blank.
Can anybody help me to resolve this problem.
Thanks alot
AnimaI checked SU01 and didn't see anything there to customize...
In my workstation, control panel / regional and languages settings / tab regional Options / customize; my time format is HH:mm:ss; the HH has to be in capital letter to display the time in 24 hour...
but this is strange anyway... are you reporting with web frontend or excel? -

How to get y axis value(in a numeric control) by providing x-axis value using wave graph
Hi,
I'm new here, Sorry if i have selected wrong Location.
I want to get Y-axis value (in a numeric Control) by providing X-axis Value using Wave graph.
i want to do calculations with the obtained value.
i have attached File and Snapshot.Well, you are using the Dynamic Data Type, which I almost never use, but if you convert the data to a WaveForm (using From DDT on the Signal Manipulation Palette, which is a choice when you right-click on the DDT Wire), you should be able to do this. Do you know about how Waveforms are stored? They are a Cluster, with t0 being a TimeStamp for the start of the Waveform, dt being the time step, and Y being the samples. So if you want a point at 0.5 seconds and dt is 0.001, you would pull out the point at Index 499 (offset 0) from the Y array.

AnyGantt: How to set different bar color depending on data value.
Need to have different colors for bars in a gantt resource chart.
The color depends on certain data value not included in the visible part of the chart, so it must be provided 'extra' for the chart in some way without beeing visible.
Have studied some examples but cannot figure out the mechanism for this, and the procedure to implement it.
Any ideas?
Apex 4.2.2
Regards
Per.Hi Per,
You mention "+Among the samples I can see that it has been implemented, but not how.+" - in the Information region below the chart that Tony referred to (https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:50) that I've stated the following:
"The elements of the Timeline region have been customized via the Chart Attributes page, using the following settings: *Custom Colors*: #000000,#00FF00,#0033FF"
So that's how I applied custom colours to that particular chart. However, that declarative option won't meet your requirements, where the colours you wish to apply are dependent on data not included in the chart series query. You mention "+Now, if I add another column to the statement I get a yellow error message telling that the statement is not valid.+". It is not possible to simply add an additional column to the chart series query. Each supported chart type expects the associated chart series query to use specific syntax - see About Creating SQL Queries for Charts in Chapter 10 of the APEX User's Guide, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35125/bldapp_chrt.htm#BCEIJJID.
So to answer your question "+How to add the new value if not providing another column to the graph?+", if you wish to customise your chart to that extent, then you will need to use custom XML. Depending on what exactly you're trying to achieve, this may require the generation of custom data for your chart. If you edit your chart, and take a look at the Custom XML region, you'll notice a substitution string, #DATA#, towards the end of the XML. When a chart is rendered, we use the chart series query to generate the necessary XML to represent the data on the chart, replacing the string #DATA# with the actual XML. The format of the data XML generated for gantt charts uses a bar style called "defaultStyle", and this handles the default appearance of the bars in the timeline region e.g.
<period resource_id="1" start="2009.03.21 00.00.00" end="2009.09.21 00.00.00" style="defaultStyle"/>You'll see that the 'style="defaultStyle" ' attribute of the data corresponds to a segment of XML outlining what that style is e.g.
<period_style name="defaultStyle">Now take a look at the Bar Style in Resource Project example in the AnyChart online documentation http://www.anychart.com/products/anygantt/docs/users-guide/bar-style.html#bar-style-application-resource-project. In that particular example, a number of different bar styles are used i.e.
<periods>
<period resource_id="server_1" start="2008.07.07" end="2008.07.8" style="Working" />
<period resource_id="server_1" start="2008.07.8" end="2008.07.12" style="Maintance" />If you need to add a different bar style to particular rows of data on your chart, then you'll need to add new bar style XML for each colour you wish to use in the Custom XML on the Chart Attributes page, and then you'll also need to generate the data XML yourself, applying the necessary bar style to the relevant row of data. I've got an example of how custom data can be generated for a Resource Gantt here e.g. https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:73 but keep in mind that particular example doesn't demo adding different styles to the data...but it can certainly give you an idea of what's entailed in the generation of custom data for your chart.
I hope this helps.

Can't show data labels in pie graphs as decimal number if the crosstab data
I want to show my data labels in diagrams, as percent values, with three decimals.
It occurs (in version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)) it is only possible if the data format of the crosstab data also shows data with decimals. If the data are in integer format, the graphs data labels can only be shown in integer as well.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
In version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.48.18) we can have a crosstab showing integers and a pie graph showing labels of pie slices where the labels are in percent with three decimals. It seems it does not work in the newer version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)
Thanks in advanceIt seems I have another similar problem in version Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26):
I have a Bar (Percent) graph based on a crosstab where the data is formatted as number with two decimals.
The labels in the graph shows as number (0,76 instead of 76% and 0,13 instead of 13%). I want them to be shown in percent format.
The Data Label format is set to “Number” with two decimals. I can change the Data Labels to Percent with two decimals and then it shows the data labels in the graph exactly as I want it. But after I have saved the workbook and then opened it again the changes has been “revoked” and is once again set to number with two decimals instead of percent.
thanks (again) in advance -
Processing data from a bar graph
Hi,
I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
My VO contains 6 attributes. Two of them are displayed in a bar graph. I have created ClickListener bean, where I'm able to get X,Y values from selected bar (using methods getValue and getGroupAttributes from DataComponentHandle class).
Is it somehow possible to get also values from the rest 4 attributes, which are not displayed in the graph? I need to process these values programatically in my backing bean.
One way is to make a db query from my backing bean. Is there any other possible solution, without db access, just using data from ClickEvent?
Thanks a lot for ideas.
DanielI have solved this task in folowing way:
I have add ADF read only form to my page (which I need anyway). The form displays data selected in the graph (using another VO, which is linked to graph VO). Command button calls my managed bean, which handles the data via the bindings executables (view iterators). -
Hi,
I want to have an option so that I can fix the maximum values on the axes of XY graph. This code is supposed to create trajectory for XY stepper motors. If you will run this
code (please download the code in the next message, which is a subvi), you will see that
the maximum values on X and Y axes are changing as the code runs. However I want the fixed values:
Initial value on X axis--> X_Initial
Final value on X_Axis ---> X_final
Initial value on X axis--> Y_Initial
Final value on X_Axis ---> Y_final
All these values are on front panel of "complete_Experiment.vi".
Thanks in advance,

You do some interesting coding to grow the data array for the graph. Since you have the entire array at the beginning of the loop, and you want to run it exactly once per data point, a FOR loop is more approriate. You can autoindex to get each value in sequence and reshape (=truncate in this case!) to only get the arrays up to the current point. This is more efficient. There is also no need for local variables and clusters. (see attached quick modification for some ideas. LabVIEW 7.1).Message Edited by altenbach on 03-07-2005 04:11 PM

Hi,
I am trying to put 4D-data on a 3D-graph, and I am using a similar approach as his thread: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-to-display-4d-data-within-a-3d-scatter-plot/m-p/1402738. The manner described is to bin all the XYZ-data according to the W-values. For instance you use 128 bins to group the XYZ-data based on their W-values. Then you plot 128 3D-graphs on the same plot and assign a color to each bin, in this way the W-value is represented by the changing color. My problem is, some bins contain one datapoint, so you plot a 3D-graph with only one point. This point is not visible, unless you are rotating the graph, so you see more points on the graph when you rotate it. Is there a solution to this problem? I can't change the number of bins, so that's not a solution I like to see

Can you explain why you see it when you move the graph but don't if you don't? The only difference wieh moving is that it uses "fast draw" (unless otherwise configured), so the axes are and points simplified.
On a side point, you could dramatically simplify the code if you use none instead of custom color ramp. None uses only a single color element in the array. I also don't see the need for a sequence structure because dataflow already determines the correct execution order if you would wire the error cluster. Also you only need to touch the cluster elements that change. Here's a quick redo of the FOR loop that changes the colors.

Error While trying to Convert a Date Value to string in POI API (Excel)
Hi
How can I convet a date value in excel to string value ? I am using POI API for excel sheet reading in JSP .Hello Esther,
the problem seems to be that the temp folder of the target Integration Builder system can't be found:
'The system cannot find the path specified
at [..] FileAccess.getTempDirectory([..])'.
You'll experience the same problem if you try a file based import or export within the Integration Builder directly.
I would recommend to continue the search there. You could check if the environment variables (for Windows: TEMP and TMP) of the OS of the system with the target Integration Builder to an existing path. Check also if the WebAs can access this path.
Good luck

Error while saving date value in Java dictionary
Hello Everybody,
I got following error while saving date value in one of the fields of the Java table.
Internal error occured in submit request: Error in method updateRequestContact : The object of type java.sql.Date with the value '2005-12-04 08:00:00.0' assigned to host variable 9 is not normalized. It must not contain time components in the time zone running the virtual machine.
I can't find why it is taking time value in the date object.
This value is coming from the RFC as a date value, and I am saving this value in Java dictionary table.
Same code for this was working fine earlier. But, now suddenly it gives error like this.
Even if I provide date on the screen from webdynpro application, this date value can't save in the Java dictionary and gives same error.
What should be the problem behind this?
Regards,
BhavikHi Satyajit,
I am getting date value from the screen of the webdynpro application from date picker control and passing this value in Java dictionary.
More Information:
I have dat value in the Date object: <b>target_date</b>
But Now I have made new Date object as following:
Date target_Date1 = new Date(target_date.getYear(),target_date.getMonth(),target_date.getDate());
Then I am passing this object to Java dictionary. Still it gives same error.
Then I have changed code as following:
int l_year;
int l_month;
int l_days;
l_year = target_Date.getYear();
l_month = target_Date.getMonth();
l_days = target_Date.getDate();
Date target_Date1 = new Date(l_year,l_month,l_days);
Now it works for me.
But I guess this is not the perment solution. It looks very strange. I have used so many date objects at various palces. So, this solution is not the final for me.
I want to findout the main cause of it.
One more thing: This code was working for a mornth or two. But, now suddenly it is giving this error.
Please help me if anybody knows.
Regards,
Bhavik
