Database Design: table to enter product serial numbers

Hi,
I'm developing a database for invoice details. The data also includes product serial number. I have an Invoice table, Products table and InvoiceProducts table- to normalise the many to many relationship of Invoice and products. I can't enter the serial numbers in the InvoiceProducts table since this will mention the quantity of a particular product in the invoice. Please can you advise how/where I can enter the serial number details. what is the industry practise for storing invoice informatioin.

Yes, that makes sense. I can call it InvoiceLineItem table. To clarify the problem...Invoice contains these relevant fields

I'm not sure about adding serial numbers in products table since I want it to be a generic table for all products recorded from different invoices. I would want serial numbers to be invoice-product specific but again Im not sure how I can add serial numbers to the InvoiceLineItem table since invoiceID and productID cant be represented as composite Primary keys in that case. Also, I plan to have a column for number of units in the InvoiceLineItem table.
Can I introduce a serial number column in the InvoiceLineItem table and separate all the serialnumbers using a separator like comma?Will I compromise on atomicity of the serial number?If I include serial number column in the InvoiceLIneItem table... I can have composite key for InvoiceID, ProductNumber and serialNumber or will it mean redundant invoice and product details for every row of serial number
The application essentially records all the details from a printed copy of Invoice onto the database through manual entry.
Please can you help me getover this...

At this - THIS point I was "told" I needed the 64 bit version (I have a 64 bit Lenovo T431s laptop). My patience wearing thin... I returned to the Adobe site from which I had done everything to this point. NOTHING with regard to a choice of 32 or 64 bit! Looked closely at the info that came with the download card... again, nothing regarding 32 or 64 bit option. Outlined this matter to Identit-e customer service... they said I need to contact Adobe. Adobe site does not make it easy to do that. Anyone have a solution and/or a suggestion?

My Adobe - all my previously registered product serial numbers are missing!

I logged in to my adobe today using the same account I have used for years.
I found that all my registered product serial numbers are missing.
On previous log ins this list correctly showed all my adobe purchases.
There must be about a decade's worth of purchased serial number now
missing from this list.
I had logged in to check my cs5.5 serial number in order to purchase a
creative cloud subscription.
However, finding all my details missing has put me off buying more products.
Is the wiping of the data a temporary database problem at your end?
or will this permanently affect my ability to upgrade products and services?

Good Morning. I'm having a problem using both my Photoshop elements and premiere programs. I've installed the programs, redeemed my code and entered the serial numbers, and created the adobe log-in. I am able to open up the organizer without problems, but when I try to open up the photo editor (either by trying to open up the program from the main menu, or right-clicking on a photo in the organizer to edit in elements), the program asks me to sign in to adobe (which I can do and it doesn't give an an "incorrect password" or log-in ID error) then accept the terms and conditions. When I click to accept the terms and conditions, nothing happens and the editor fails to open. Everytime I click on the program, I get this same "loop" of signing in and accepting T&C's, but the program fails to open. Any advice?

Premiere Elements 10 is now 64 bit, but not PSE10.
Take a look at your scratch disk set-up and if you have a spare volume, allocate that first before the C drive. Elements use scratch disks when it gets low on RAM.

When editing photos or videos check the task manager to see what background processes may be running and end them temporarily if not needed.

Database design tables

Iam working on small application it requires database tables .I don't know how to design tables.I have design and fields depending upon this I need to create tables.
In design I have 3 tables
Table1:
projectname,type(efi,phase) radiobuttonlist,startdate enddate,empname
Table2:
efi type is radiobuttonlist field .If I click on efi it shows 15 rows and 5 columns (Textboxes,dropdownn...).
table 3:
If I click on phase it shows 10rows and 5 columns (Textboxes,dropdownn...)
columns(milestones(labels),StartDate,EndDate,walktesttatus,statuscomments,general comments) in both types(efi ,phase).In milstones columns there are different fields for each type.
Do I need to create EFI Table and Phase table separately ?

As noted above, share more details with us like what is "efi".

Please transfer my products serial numbers to my updated account.

When I switched to a CC account you told me to update my information - so I did. In to process I lost all of my serial numbers. I am also no longer allowed to log in to my old account.
I know this is some sort of marketing ploy to get me to stay with the new CC but it won't work..
Who ever's running things over there at Adobe HQ needs to be fired and institutionalized.
I would appreciate it very much if you would allow me to access my old serial numbers so that I may revert back to CS6.
Can I get some help Adobe? ..or are you hoping that time will heal my wounds (from the knife that you shoved into my back).

This is a user to user forum just so you are aware.
That said, you should be able to access your account on the main Adobe webpage. As long as you registered each version, the numbers will be listed there.
There is no reason to change accounts. You keep the same account and upgrade to CC.
If for some reason you are on a different account. Adobe can repair your old account. It maybe necessary to give them your order numbers found on your sales receipt or email notice.

you bought the upgrade version meaning you have a previously purchased lightroom. after entering your lr5 serial number you're being prompted for that previous version's serial number.
enter the correct number at the correct time and installation will proceed.
if you made an error and do not own a previous version, Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order

5.5 Design premium now asking for Serial Numbers when starting up programs - neither of our two serial numbers are re-activating the software?

We have Design Premium installed on two Macs
Just recently the individual programs on one of them has started showing a box requesting serial number.
We're not sure which of our two registered versions is on which machine but have tried both to no avail.
What can we do please?

Serial Numbers for Components in production Order

Hi All
I want to enter the serial numbers of the components in the production order. How can we do it.
I am able to enter the serial number of the FG in the production order, but want to enter for the Components as well.
Any direction will be greatly apprecialted.

Hi,
You can assign componenets (with serial nos.) to FG ( also with serial nos.) with COIB after goods receipt.( Menu path --Logistics -> Plant maintenance -> Management of technical objects -> Installed base -> Create (special) -> With reference to production data.)
Example: Say FG sr. no. is 1
And components serial no. are- 1,5,10,20 and so on.
After assignment of components it can be viewed on right part of screen, You can have the assignment history--- ie for which assembly no. which components are assigned or vice versa. In production order i.e in descrete mfg. it can be directly done at the time of operation confirmation.
The following is the detail steps:
1. T code--COIB
2. Enter material code ( FG). You can select specific serial no. of FG --- by putting sr. no. in serial no. field.
3. Click on list tree- you will find FG with serial numbers.
4. Click on explode-- it will show the BOM ( in bottom left corner of screen)
5. Select the FG numbers for which you want to assign the componets
6. Clik on tranfer
7. Select the component
8. Also select the FG no. on right side screen.
9. Select the serial no. which you want to assign to an FG
10. Click on assign
11. You will find all the components will get assigned to FG with serial numbers.
12. Now on right side screen there is "save" button. ( It will ask you create/ change as built in foreground or background?
13. Select as foreground
14. Save
15. You will find a message at the borttom --- saved.
16. Now you will find tick mark ( in front of FG material) in right part of screen ( indication of assignment of components)

Can anyone tell me the table in which the serial numbers are stored for the production orders? I have created a production order and have assigned serial numbvers to it. Now I want to extract these serial numbers from the table.

In table SER05, the list of serial number details can be obtained.key the order noin ser05 table, get field OBJKNR, then pass this OBJKNR in table OBJK .
Some useful table for serial numbers
SER00 Generic table for serial numbers
SER01 Serial numbers assigned to a delivery
SER02 Serial numbers assigned to a guarentee
SER03 Serial numbers assigned to a material document
SER04 Serial numbers assigned to an inspection lot
SER05 Serial numbers for a production order
SER06 Serial numbers for Handling Units
SER07 Serial numbers for Stocktaking
SER08 serial numbers for Orders (SD)
The assignment of serial numbers to a production order can be done either via transaction CO02 or at the latest when the GR from Production is made.
I hope that this information clarifies the issue.

How Can I Avoid Continually Entering Serial Numbers

I purchased a new iMac to replace my older iMac. Aperture works only if I re-enter serial numbers each time I open Aperture. How can I avoid continually entering the serial numbers. It is annoying that my Mac won't remember my labour.

You cannot "access it" at all using a serial number.
Please explain what you are attempting.

Why am I ineligible for Creative Cloud Complete when I have serial numbers for CS3 products??

I am trying to purchase Creative Cloud Complete for $29.99, as I have previously purchased Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign CS3, and have the serial numbers. However, when I entered the serial numbers on the form to order Creative Cloud, it said I was not eligible, but had no explanation why.

Serial numbers from PO(ME21N) to be updated in standard VL10B deliveries

New to enhancements and need help.
I have Purchase Orders created in ME21N. But material specific serial numbers are entered in Texts as this enhancement wasn't implemented prior prod release. Now we needed seralization to be implemented. Configuration is done and I've finished an enhancement where internal serial numbers are associated with product serial numbers specific to the PO. This works fine if we are manually creating TO and delivery in foreground.
My issue comes with, is there any way we can create internal serial numbers for materials (particular materiall types specified in the configuration) if the delivery has been created in VL10B using either BAPI or function module or online in background.
All i need is an idead or clue as to how it can be implemented.
I can trigger an enhancement in VL10B, but should I use an implicit enhancement. Or is there an User Exit or BADI for this.
Any suggestions please

Though for 'Return orders', this won't work.
For this CSD will be entering the serial numbers of return materials in texts of PO which get transferred to delivery.
For this updation, in PAI modue of SAPLMEGUI (VL10B), we need to update these serial numbers (FM READ_TEXT) from texts into SAP internal serial numbers. Please correct me if my approach is wrong.
Need suggestion for this.

Serial Numbers in QA11 Record Usage Decision

Hi all,
We are using the serial numbers scenario in goods receipt. The user has to enter the serial numbers of the equipment/devices at the time of preparing goods receipt in MIGO_GR against a purchase order. An Inspection Lot is generated after posting the goods receipt. The has to prepare the GR approx 5000 nos. of material in each goods receipt.
Usage Decision has to be recorded for all these 5000 serial numbers in a particular inspection lot. Once we run the Tcode : QA11 and enter the quantity to be posted to blocked stock as 5000 and click on the save icon.
The system throw a screen for selection of serial numbers for which the usage decision is to be recorded. On this screen, all the 5000 serial numbers entered in the inspection lot should be available for selection. But the system sometimes shown only 5, sometimes it shows 2500, sometimes 1000 nos. for selection.
Please suggest if this might be due to some configuration problem or due to constraint of memory in the lock table in SM12. We are facing the same problem while processing the goods receipt for 5000 nos. through a BAPI.

Thanks for your immediate response. You have perfectly understood my problem. The following are the clarifications for your queries :-
Point No. 01 : We are posting the entire quantity (5000 nos.) to blocked stock. We enter 5000 in the To Blocked Stock field of Inspection Lot quantity Tab of the Inspection Lot. After entering the quantity we click on the Save button to post the Usage Decision. A pop of the serial numbers for select is given after clicking on the Save button. The serial number pop up is given if we try to process the usage decision for full quantity of 5000 nos. But sometimes if we put a smaller quantity say 20 nos. then the popup is not given and the usage decision is successfully posted for 20 nos. So the system behaves very randomly.
Point No. 02 : The serial numbers displayed for the selection is also random say sometimes 13/5000, 2500/5000, 0/5000.
Point No. 03 : I have checked the SER03 and OBJK tables and all the 5000 serial numbers are allocated to the material document.
We already have escalated to SAP, but do you feel there is some configuration issue for the same. Please give your valuable suggest.
