Database Resource Plan not working...

DbVersion: 10.2.0.4
For some reason my resource plan is not taking effect. I've created 4 resource consumer groups. I've created a plan utilizing these consumer groups. The plan is enabled and is the top plan. The resource_manager_plan parameter is set to: FORCE:MYPLAN and I've also tried setting it to "MYPLAN" only.
The Consumer Group mappings have been set at the service level. So depending on the database service you're connecting via you should be using a particular consumer_group.
The problem is that everyone that connects regardless of what service they are using is routed to use the "OTHER_GROUPS" group (except for the sys and system users).
I find this information with the following query:"
SELECT USERNAME,SERVICE_NAME,RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP FROM GV$SESSION;
What am I missing? Do I need to bounce the database or something in order for a resource plan to take effect?

If we go to "Sync Rules" and click "DEFINE SYNC RULES", no matter the databse we choose (there are 2), when we click in "REFRESH

It might be a collation/SMO issue after I do some research, so may I know that have you change the collation of you SQL Azure database? If yes, please try to use default collation and try again.

In addition to pvdg's post, can you reproduce this issue with a new fresh database? If you can this means it is a SQL Setup related problem. If you cannot, your database file may already corrupt.

Maintenance plan not working properly

Hi,
I created the following maintenance plan:
the database backup part of this completes without issue but the cleanup task, which is supposed to delete any files that have the extension .bak and are greater than 1 day old does not happen. I created a test maintenance plan with just the cleanup task
and it worked without issue. Might I be missing something?

How do you configure the Back Up Database Task? According to the screenshot in your original post, it seems that you have selected “Back up database across one or more files” option and appended the existing database backup file, right? If so, the
existing bak file will be updated each time the package runs, and it won’t be cleaned up. To clean up the bak file, you need to select “Create a backup file for every database” option instead.
If you already selected the "Create a backup file for every database" option and the issue persists, please double check the Back Up Database Task to make sure the “Create a sub-directory for each database” option is not checked as Olaf suggested.

SQL Server 2012 Database Email is not working with AWS SES Services

I have issue with the SQL Server Database mail Services. I have Configured Amazon Simple Email Services (AWS SES) as db profile in SQL Server and for last 2 years its working perfectly. But, from last two days on wards it is not working properly the Emails
are queued but not sent to the recipients. the SES Services are working fine in outlook. but, not working in SQL Server.
Please help on this. tried changing the ports no result only one or two emails only sent remaining are failing.the info messages is as below

Try to use port 465, port 2587 or port 587 instead of using port 25, as explained on the following articles.

The first of above URLs is intended for troubleshooting SMTP issues in general.
Verify you the mail account has not reached any limit. Limit of emails per day, per second, etc.

Global Data Plan not working in the Netherlands

I called customer service a week before my trip and arranged for the $30 "Global Data" plan to begin April 1. I have been unable to get a data connection here in the Netherlands and e-mails to customer service have gone unanswered. I cannot see anything on my account to indicate whether this has ever been activated.
By poking around the settings and setting the data networks to GSM I've been able to see Vodophone, T-Mobile, and KPN listed, but if I try to connect to any of them I get an error that indicates I cannot connect to them.
Can anyone provide some advice on how to get this working? I was really relying on this to help with getting info on places to visit and it's proving a pretty difficult trip when having to rely on free wifi spots to make up for this.

Oracle 9.10 Database Configuration Assistant not working

I have installed Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition on Windows XP, Pentium 4 and everything installed successfully but after installation, when I click on Database Configuration Assistant, nothing happened, no error displayed, mouse flashed for a while as loading something then came normal. Any idea please ?
Even Database Migration Assistant also not working.
I also could not find svrmgr utility in Oracle 9i to create a new database.

The Server Manager was deprecated in 9i. Instead of using it you have to use the SQL*Plus. Do you have another JRE installed ?

Explain Plan not working with 919, was working with 804

Hi,
Explain Plan (F6) was working cprrectly with Raptor 804 and is not working any more on 919. This is the same query exactly (select * from mytable). The server is 9.2.0.5.0. The result with 919 is "Invalid Column Name".

Database Upgrade Agent not working for upgrading Oracle 9i DB to Oracle 10i

Hi All,
Presently I have completed my Oracle 10i installation on Solaris Server but I am facing an issue during the upgrade process of Oracle 9i to 10g. Whenever I try to upgrade the 9i databases to 10g using DBUA(Database Upgrade assistant) I am facing an issue that Data base not running from oracle home or pfile not found. The exact error message says:-
The upgrade assistant failed in bringing up the database XIPCOTS. Oracle Home /opt/apps/home/oracle9i/product/releases/92/92 obtained from file /var/opt/oracle/oratab was used to connect to the database. Either the database is not running from Oracle Home /opt/apps/home/oracle9i/product/releases/92/92 or the correct Initialisation parameter file (pfile) was not found. To start the database , Oracle needs the pfile. Provide the full path name of the init file for the database XIPCOTS.
In reality the XIPCOTS database is running fine in Oracle 9i and we can connect it using PL/SQL developer in windows.I have also provided the path of pfile but it is still not accepting the same.
Path of pfile I provided :- /XIP/ofaroot/XIPCOTS/pfile/initXIPCOTS.ora
Any help or suggestions would be greately appreciated.
Our both Oracle 9i and 10g are installed on same Solaris server where solaris version is 9

Can you please mention the specific folder name under oracle home where we need to put this pfile because there are two folder dbs and ds I have allready tried putting it inside dbs its not working. And my home path is correct I hope and is set for oracle 9i directories in the .oraenv file do we need to set it for oracle 10g before the DBUA upgrade.

After I downloaded iOS 7.0.3 Data plan is not working in my iPhone5; I tried resetting network; powered down and powered on; switched off LTE, airplane mode on and off; Cellular Services on and off, nothing seems to work. Should I try Total Reset? (of course after backing up in iTunes)?

Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrierto report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.

Resource Delegation Not Working

On Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8v2, for the life of me I can't figure out why resource delegation is not functioning as expected. The issue is that the approval email is not being sent to the delegate but instead it's sitting in the resource's inbox.
I verified with a bunch of articles and it should be quite straight forward to set this up:
1. Create room resource
2. "Specify users who are allowed to submit in-policy meeting requests that will be automatically approved" - Check, Selected recipients, (blank)
3. "Specify who can submit in-policy meeting requests that are subject to approval by a resource mailbox delegate" - Check, All users
4. "Enable the Resource Booking Attendant..." - Uncheck
5. Add user to "Specify delegates of this mailbox"
6. "Forward meeting requests to delegates" - Check
7. Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity test-room2 -AutomateProcessing:None
Under this configuration, all users adding the resource into the meeting request will trigger an approval email to the delegate but it's simply not working. Why?

The "Enable the Resource Booking Attendant..." should be checked in the resource mailbox delegate configuration. We also can run the following command in EMS:
Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity test-room2 -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept
Then check whether the issue persists.

Maintenance plans not working

We have SQL server 2008 r2 and though the maintenance plans initially worked as they should, they stopped working when we installed SSRS. When I try to do almost anything with any of the plans, I get this error:
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Could not load file or assembly 'msddsp, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Design)
These are the version details of our server:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio      10.50.4000.0
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools      10.50.4000.0
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)      6.1.7601.17514
Microsoft MSXML      3.0 6.0

I have researched this and have been nowhere near a true solution to this thus far. Additionally, I am leaning toward simply reinstalling the whole management studio, but I have MANY SSRS reports that I simply cannot afford to lose or compromise.
Any thoughts on how to finally fix this problem that I am having will certainly be appreciated.

Hi Chris,
The above error occurs if the msddsp.dll is not available in the Global Assembly Cache (%windir%\assembly\) or if the dll was not properly registered. To work around this issue, please follow below steps.
1. If you encounter this error when using the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) on an IA64 machine, please install it on a different, non-IA64 machine and administer the SQL Server instance remotely. And make sure that SQL 2008 R2 client tools are installed
as the same version &pacth level as the SQL Server instance.
2. If you encounter this error when using the SSMS on an non-IA64 machine, check if msddsp.dll exists on your system. If it doesn’t exist, follow step 7 in the
KB article to install it into the GAC .
3. Check that if the .NET Framework is corrupted on your system if the issue still persists after performing above steps . You can verify the installation state of the .NET Framework via the
.NET Framework Setup Verification Tool. If the .NET Framework is corrupted, please
repair it using
.NET Framework Repair Tool.
