Datagrid and firefox problem

I have a datagrid component in a Flash app embedded in html
using swfobject.js. I have set the datagrid's multipleSelection
property to true. When running the app in IE I can select multiple
rows of the datagrid. When in Firefox though, I can't select
multiple rows. Has anyone else noticed this browser discrepancy and
found a solution?

Here's a solution I found that worked for me:
I used the call change="dgClicked(event)" instead of
click="launchViewer(event)" in the Datagrid defintiion.
The function dgClicked checks which row the cell clicked was
in. If row 0 (the header) was the one clicked then do only normal
sorting - ie don't call the TitleWindow popUp.
public function dgClicked(event:ListEvent):void
if ( event.rowIndex != 0){
launchViewer(event);
Also the definition of launchViewer had to change from a
MouseEvent to a ListEvent:
public function launchViewer(event:ListEvent):void
var popUp:ViewWindow =
ViewWindow(PopUpManager.createPopUp(this, ViewWindow, false));
Hope this helps someone else out!

  • Safari and Firefox problems: hotmail, facebook ect. don't work

I am having all sorts of problems with Safari and Firefox. I cannot get on hotmail, facebook and many other sites, but I can use google, just half the links won't load. Ran diagnostics, reset safari, uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. Have no idea what to do next. Any suggestions??

Empty your browser caches more often.
Deleting cookies may help also. Go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the Cookies.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
If emptying the cache nor deleting cookies helped, try Safari in another user account.
If you have the same problems there log back into your admin account.
Launch Disk Utility. That's located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

So I moved on to Safari, it didnt crash when i went onto those sites. but i get a pop up message all the time, especially on those sites...

  • Flash, CSS, and Firefox problem

    Hello.
I have an html document that is built using CSS (div tags,
etc). This CSS calls out to swfs (defined by DIVs) to build the
    page.
The layout is very simple, starting with a top navigation bar
swf. There are buttons in this navigation bar that, when rollover,
cause a graphic to unmask and pull down. The graphic is rather
large and forces the top nav bar height to 800. Naturally, this
will eclipse other elements on the page when the graphic crashes
    down.
By using a combination of "wmode=transparent" and z-indexing
in the Flash code, I can get the crashdown graphic to appear above
the other elements in the html.
However, and here is the issue, in Firefox the sheer,
necessary height of the top nav bar prevents clicking on any other
buttons in the elements that appear below the top nav bar. It's as
if there is an alpha mask over everything which prevents RollOvers
and general mouse clicking action. Oddly, it works perfectly in
    I.E.
Any insight would be vastly appreciated. I've researched what
I could of this topic, but nothing I can find replicates my exact
    issue. Thank you.

  • BMgr 3.9 SP1 and Firefox problems?

Running into some problems with our own website: www.msktd.com If we
try to access it through BMgr 3.9 SP1 using Firefox 3.5, it acts as if
it can't see the CSS file - we have to refresh the page for it to
appear correctly. IE6 has no problems. And then a few times it has
gotten to the point where I cannot even get to the site with Firefox -
it just sits there and tries but the page never appears. If I unload
proxy and then reload with the clear cache option, I am able to get to
the site again. But it still may or may not have the CSS problem.
    Thoughts?

And most of the time, BM39sp1 and FF 3.5 works fine here. I'm not
100% certain the problem lies with BM. Guess I need to do some more
digging the next time the problem occurs or else just install SP2 and
see if the problem never returns.

  • Intel graphics SNA acceleration - QT apps and firefox problem

    Hi guys.
I have a laptop with an integrated Intel HD4000 graphic card.
Since the gnome 3.8 update, I had problem with GDM, which sometimes got stuck on login, refusing to load gnome-shell. So I since use the SNA acceleration method instead of UXA, which solves this problem.
But then appears an other problem : strange distortion on QT apps menus. Here is an exemple with VLC :
But this wasn't stopping videos to play correctly, so after testing a few parameters available in the wiki and being unable to solve it, I was thinking to just wait for a graphic driver update, as I had read that some problems could be solve by the next update.
Then come the update : problem is still here, and now I have that with firefox:
This is supposed to be the Archlinux logo you can see in the top left corner of the forum…
    So my asking is:
    - does anyone know what to do to have SNA working properly ?
    - OR does anyone know how to make GDM work correctly with UXA acceleration ?
I don't really care about using SNA or UXA, as I didn't see a performance difference, so one or the other will be great.
(off course, if someone know how to fix them both, I will not complain, having choice is always better )
    Thanks in advance !

Wow!  A fix from 2011 got my gdm working again!  Thank you!
With a couple of reboots I was able to even log into gnome-shell.  All of my shell extensions are gone (??) but it's an easy matter to get them back.
Gnome 3.8 is a strange and fragile thing.
You saved me from wiping my Archlinux installation and starting again from scratch...I strongly believe that every problem should be fixed without resorting to the "fresh install" magic but I almost gave up this time.
ahh that may be why I wasn't having issues, I always use that workaround, first thing I do on any gnome install on an intel machine, because that workaround is needed to remove video-tearing on intel with gnome-shell (without that work around there may appear to be no visible screen tearing, but when watching fullscreen video you will notice tearing near the top)

  • PayPal and Firefox Problem

Hi, I am using the newest OS and whenevr I try and log into my Pay Pal account, it just seems to take forever, sometimes it will eventually log in where as other times it will "time Out"
I've tried it on Safari as well but it also seems to take ages.
Is this an ISP issue, PayPal issue, Firefox issue or just a normal behaviour?
I have cleaned out cookies etc.
    Thanks
Oh just for the record, I have a Windows seperate machine that connects on the same wireless router and that doesn't seem to take quite so long logging in.

    the newest OS
Then I can assume 10.5.6 vs what is listed below (10.5.3).
I'd try looking at your modem's status and connection to ISP; primary and secondary IP for DNS; check that your modem and any router is also current and up to date (might check DSLreports too).
The Mac Pro's Intel chipset does seem to have high latency and was addressed last fall by Intel, but whether that makes its way into OS X I have no idea or way of knowing.
There is the Safari discussion, and OS X Leopard "Getting online and networking" discussion.
One popular test is to create a new test user account.

  • Safari and Firefox problems with wireless network

I have seen similar questions to mine on the forums recently. Here's my story: I have 5 month old Mac Book with Leopard, no airport extreme, just the inbuilt Airport card. I connec through the internet with Netgear. I have been on to Apple support who went through all the checks, nothing wrong they say, and suggest I contact Netgear. This I did, rebooted router, switched on/off, updated firmware. And still the same problems - pages ultra slow to load, messages saying I am not connected to the internet but running network diagnostics informs me I am. I have to resend pages three times to get them to load. It's driving me nuts. A couple of things then: should I check the box for 'remember password in keychain' when I'm loggin on to my own secure network? Maybe the keychain not remembering is slowing it down. I also read that with one of the key chain updates (I update automatically so I presume I did this some time back) the airport card might not work, and safe restart is required. Do I need to do this?
I know Apple don't take responsibility for third party equipment, like the Netgear router, but my mac worked amazingly with the internet until about 2 weeks ago, and I have updated everything with Netgear. Any ideas?

I believe the WebKitPlugInHost needs to be updated for Safari as It crashes whenever I am playing FarmVille on FaceBook.

Fixed it by installing the extension Media Player Connectivity 0.5.3.1 on Firefox - get it from the Tools/Extension menu.

  • Editable datagrid firefox problem

I have created an application that contains an editable
datagrid but experiences problems when using the firefox browser.
If there are multiple tabs of firefox open and an item is selected
in the grid, when switching between the firefox tabs, the datafield
in the grid becomes selected for edit without clicking on it. It
appears that some kind of event is being called to change an entry
in the grid. Similar results occur when changing between different
windows i.e. firefox and flex builder.
However, I don't have this problem when using internet
    explorer.

That should be true for any Flex component.  Focus is always on something, you have to move it to a new place otherwise it gets restored back to what last had foucs.

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    2. Select

    and confirm. Test.
    3. If the above steps don't resolve the problem, please describe it in more detail.

  • Problems with Safari and Firefox (HTTP?)

Problems with Safari and Firefox (HTTP?)
    On a laptop G4, 10.5.8 and Safari 5.02 I experience the following:
On the account of my oldest daughter everything works fine, i.e. wireless internet works and no problems with mail or safari.
On the same laptop, on the account of my other daughter, the wireless is OK, she can mail etc. But safari nor firefox works. It says: can’t find server (whatever site) and in the activity window it looks if safari tries to open files (in the safari preferences-folder) in stead of http. Same applies to Firefox, so maybe it has more to do with HTTP in general?
What goes wrong? What to do? I tried the following on the host terminal (tips from Apple)
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false
    and
    defaults delete com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled
    but that did not help,
    Nanne

I'm still wondering why it happens now at this moment in time...
PC does seem to be a bit odd & inconsistent, the few times I've tested with it, at least so far as we content filtering goes; and if I remember rightly, you're not the first to report previously ok settings suddenly preventing some or all internet until pc is switched off altogether.
    It may work when re-enabled

  • How can I correct the problems I've been experiencing lately  with drop-down menus in general as well as and leading of text. It 's occurring  on both Safari and Firefox browsers.

The above headline pretty much covers the problems.
Access to the drop down menus is erratic.  Sometimes it's problem-free, but at other times it's impossible to see the options on the menu, or if they are visible, it's impossible to effect a change by clicking on one of them.  The times I notice it most is when I am trying to change fonts or font sizes, but  it occurs at other times, as well.
It's also frustrating to have to deal with double spacing (for example, when describing items on eBay).  Sometimes the text flows  normally,  but if I force a  return, the text that follows usually is double-spaced.
Often,  the justification option does not work either.
Occasionally, I can  get around one problem or another by switching back and forth between Safari and  Firefox, but eventually, the original problem resurfaces.
Because it happens on both browsers,  eBay tech support is inclined to think the problem is in my software. (I'm inclined to agree.)
Although they have suggested clearing  the history in FF, that option must have been relocated, because  it'sno longer under the "Tools"  menu, where it was  in the past. I also can't find  the clear  your cache option on OS Safari or 10.8.3.

I don't think it'd help much but clearing history is now in the History menu, and setting FF to clear history on exit is near the bottom of the Privacy tab of FF Preferences.
Also, if you don't have the Develop menu in Safari, open Safari preferences, click Advanced, and select “Show Develop menu in menu bar.” You'll find "Empty Caches" there.

  • Audio problems in Flash Player and Firefox

    Hi everyone!
I have a problem that has been plagueing me for nearly a year now, all audio in all videos i play in Firefox goes out of synch, the video will start ok then at around the two minute mark the audio starts to lag until it's completely left the visual playback behind, the only solution is to keep clicking the video back a few seconds to re-align the audio, this is temp as the audio will slowly drop out of synch again!
This problem has been driving me crazy!
It doesn't happen in Chrome or IE only Firefox. I have posted thread after thread on tech forums but nobody has yet been been able to help, i'm using the latest Firefox. the latest Flash Player (uninstalled and re-installed properly) all my drivers are bang up to date, all caches cleared all....in fact you name it iv'e done it!
This was never an issue until about a year ago, nothing has been installed hardware wise and the only software installed has been updates for ongoing programmes!

    Hi Chris,
Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE.
