Date field - User Override

I have a date/time field on my form that uses a FormCalc script to default to the current date, as shown below, in the Layout:Ready event:
$.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "YYYY-MM-DD"))
How do I configure this field so that it allows the user to change the date? Even if I set the Value Type to "Calculated - User Can Override", the string above sets it back to the current date.

I placed the code
$.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "YYYY-MM-DD"))
in form:ready instead and it allowed me to change the date.

Combine docs with same data fields, one overrides the other

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me. My company uses pdf forms where we have to combine multiple pdfs of different people filling in the same base form. When we try to combine them it comes up that one overrides the other fields with the same names. This takes all the information from one form and puts it in what is supposed to be a different form.
The error box that comes up says we must use a PDF portfolio to do this without having the override but the portfolio doesn't work for what we need.
Is there a way around this? We have to use the same form so of course there will be the same field names.

How to prevent user from inputting in a Date field?

Hi, everyone
I have another small problems, for a Date field, user can choose from a date window or input from keyboard, is there any way to forbid user to input?
I want to make the date field behave like a Drop-down list. User can just choose from list, can not input. is it possible?

Can a user override the Current Date field?

I have a simple form with a Current Date field. Today's date is automatically populated in this field, but I would like to give users the option to enter a different date in the field. There is a value called "Calculated - User Can Override" but this doesn't appear to work.

When I first set up this field I used code I found on this forum that went in the 'layout:ready' area. I've now removed it and used the code I found in your file in 'calculate'. The date field is now functioning properly.

FORMCALC (or JS) Default date today with user override questions

I have a date field where if null, I want today to be inserted. If the user overrides the today date and saves the form, I want the user entered date to stay.
What I have in FORMCALC is:
if ($.isNull)
then
$.rawValue = num2date(date(), DateFmt(2))
endif
The first part works, it populates with today, and I can overrided the date. When I save and then reopen the form, the date is "0".
Any ideas here?

I'm having the same problem as described above but I am using JavaScript to reflect the current date:
var msNow = (new Date()).getTime();
var d1 = new Date(msNow);
this.rawValue = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", d1);
The user can override the current date and save the form, BUT when the form is reopened it will run again and insert the current date over the user entered date.
(I've tried several variations of "if (this.isNull)" to the above code which results in "01/00/0000" when opening the saved form --so it still doesn't retain the date entered by the user.)
Does anyone know what code I need to add to to keep the user entered date that was saved with the form? Or if there is a better way to make the date calendar default to today, allow user override and save that user entered date on the form?

Please help. I am having difficulty with the Date "Calculated - User Can Override" value. I need the date to default as current but have the user to be able to change it if necessary. I have chosen the value as "Calculated - User Can Override". You can change the date, but when you exit the field it changes back to the current date. Please tell me exactly what I need to do.

Hi everyone,
Can you export the date and user to Excel that appears into a Comments field in a tracking list?
When i export a tracking list with a Comment field in the Content type, the screen where you enter the data for an item, the Comments field just export the text of the comment into the Excel file.
In the Comments field appears also, besides the comment text, the user and date from who and when the comment is added.
Is there a way to export also the user and the date?

create another comment field that doesn't use 'appending', and through SP Designer change workflow keep
updating that field with the new comments (prepend the field with date/username/new comment). Hide the field on all forms, but put it in the view you need to export to Excel.

IR Date Filter - My date field is MM/DD/YYYY users want to filter by same

Hi,
I have a interactive report that has a date field and I put a "MM/DD/YYYY" display format on it.
The filter uses DD-MON-RR format in filtering which works fine but the users want to filter by same format of MM/DD/YYYY because they want to type it in. Is there a way to change the date format of the filter to match the display format of the fileld?
Also, if a valid date is entered in the wrong format no error occurs just no data.

Hi Billj,
I am not quite clear about your question. For the date field in the form you can create a validation for valid date and that will not accept the input if user type invalid date. if you want to format that date field in the form you can do that as well by choosing the date picker with your expected format (Date picker(dd/mm/yyyy).

Thanks for the support, as per the guidance given by you i was able to link the desired field (E.g. Vendor Code) to one of the WBS Element User Field using WBS_USER_FIELDS_F4 BAdi. Further to this I have following requirements.
1. Can I also appear the field description in front of the User Field (E.g. Name of the Vendor)
2. Can I validate whether a User have entered a valid input to the User Field (i.e. Existing Vendor in the Vendor Master)
3. Can I include a search window to search input values.

PO delivery date field to be made display for all users except one user

I have a specific requirement:
The delivery date field in PO should be made display only at the time of changing the PO. I know pretty well that this can be achieved thru Define Screen Layout at document level, which inturn will make this field disaply mode to all users.
But it should be in changeable mode only for one user. how can we achieve this.

Hi ,
You can create a authorization object(Z one) which can be assigned to the user id who need authorization of change .
In the exit , you can specify the logic that if SY-USER (current user) has the authorization id , the system will allow to change . If the user doesn't have the object in his roles , the system would not allow to change .
This will help in providing / removing access to any user id .

Problem updating date field on user table

I think I have figured it out. The cardtype field (which I was also updating) has a list of valid values. If I didn't specify a value for this field none of the other fields would update either. I'm still not sure of the reason for this behavior.

Setting a date field to a default value if it's left blank by the user?

I want to set a date field by default to 31/12/2499 if the user doesn't input anything. I want to do this in WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger .

Isn't it too late to set default value in WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM? It will not fire if user doesn't input anything
I would set properties of HS_HEADS.DT_TO as following:
Data Type = Date
Initial Value = 31/12/2009
Format Mask = DD/MM/YYYY
And in WHEN-VALIDATE_ITEM just validate that date is not less then SYSDATE

Registering a logistic User to use a FMS on a data-field

you should be able to help me out on this:
I got a couple of logistic users, who have a very restricted access to the system.
Anyway, I still need them to use some FMS on data fields like batch number creation.
Unfortunately I cannot find the correct authorization to activate the usage of Formated Searches on certain datafields.
Where can I find it??

the category "Berichtsauswahl" --> Abfragegenerator
After handing out the rights of this category the users are able to use FMS etc.
