Date Calculated - User Can Override

Please help. I am having difficulty with the Date "Calculated - User Can Override" value. I need the date to default as current but have the user to be able to change it if necessary. I have chosen the value as "Calculated - User Can Override". You can change the date, but when you exit the field it changes back to the current date. Please tell me exactly what I need to do.
Thank you,
Angie

Copy this line from the "

b In FORMCALC:
> $.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "YYYY-MM-DD"))
Here I give you an example of it:

I'm having trouble with using Calculated-User Can Override, it will not honor my overide.  I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES v.8.2

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Is there any other way to  limit the data a user can see

    We are using Discoverer 10.2.xxx
We are running it against an Oracle applications database but we do not have Discoverer integrated with the apps. I have created database users for discoverer and granted access to the data at the db level.
We have about 40 salesreps and we only want each rep to see their own data. We have a high turn over with the reps
For now, I have created the row level security in that folder in my eul. If the username = XXXX then Salesrep = XXXXX
    OR
If username = YYYY then DSM = YYYY
etc.. This goes on for about 40 users We have 3 levels of "users" - Salesrep, DSM or RSM (District or Region sales manager)
These users are setup in my apps and I can write a database procedure to select their salesrep name based on their username.
Is there any other way to limit the data that the salesreps can see ?
Possibly with a stored procedure some way?
    Thanks
    Angie

At a previous client's, I had created a system not too unlike what you're describing.
Basically, I created an Oracle table that stored information concerning the salesperson as in Oracle Apps the data was not reliable for what they were doing (ie: with adding Apps modules, sometimes salesperson data was there, but with say, CRM, it was in another place, etc.).
So, since this table was going to be used for driving everything about a salesperson (commissions, who they report to, when they started, territory, when / if they moved territories and/or manager, etc, etc.) I put lots of good stuff in it that would make life easier for them.
The end user in charge of all this had was given a Form to add, edit, delete all this good stuff and they were happy.
When it came time for security, it worked like a charm in that I used the concept of the BIS views where a user has an apps id associated to them and all data was filtered by that id. All I really had to do was to create this view that simply filtered data to that user's id. Then whenever I had a Discoverer report for salespeople, managers, etc. I just made sure the folder used had a join to this filtering view and I chose an item from the filtering view and all worked fine. All Discoverer reports only returned row level information for the salesperson who ran it.
Likewise, the same Oracle table was queried by another security view that only brought back the same IDs for the salespeople associated to each manager. When this simple view was joined to any sales Discoverer folder (and used in Disco), it limited all data to the salespeople the manager was responsible for.
Obviously this is just an overview and would take pages to explain, but essentially, if you can associate some kind of unique ID to each salesperson (I used the one returned in BIS views when someone logs into Apps, but you could just assign a different in your case), then you can create a view that filters to that id. Then when that view is brought into the EUL and joined to any other folder in the sales area (and you choose a column from the security view), you'll have what you're referring to - row level security for all salespeople and managers.
When it works - it sure does look impressive.

  • Date field - User Override

I have a date/time field on my form that uses a FormCalc script to default to the current date, as shown below, in the Layout:Ready event:
    $.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "YYYY-MM-DD"))
How do I configure this field so that it allows the user to change the date? Even if I set the Value Type to "Calculated - User Can Override", the string above sets it back to the current date.
    Thanks for the help (again)!
    Paul

    Paul,
    I placed the code
    $.rawValue = Concat(Num2Date(Date(), "YYYY-MM-DD"))
in form:ready instead and it allowed me to change the date.

  • Two fields, two scripts. User can enter data into field 1 or 2

    Hi all,
New here, and to acrobat forms, so please bear with me!
What I'm trying to achieve is a form that calculates total invoice value, based on a total number of hours worked, and a rate. The user fills in the total hours, but then the problem is that some people know their fixed rate, and others have a changing rate. Those with a changing rate simply know the amount they are invoicing for. What I'd like, is a way for the TotalInvoice value to be calculated by Rate*TotalHours when the user enters a value into the Rate field... OR ... for Rate to be calculated by TotalInvoice/TotalHours when the user enters a value into the TotalInvoice field.
I can make it go one way or the other (so the script is only in TotalInvoice field or the Rate field), but I can't manage to get it to go both ways. Is this possible?
To summarise: User can enter manually into Field1 and value of Field2 is calculated, or user can enter manually into Field2 and Field1 is calculated.
    Thanks!

What you propose can be difficult, becuase you're describing a circular reference between the two fields. When the 1st value changes, you want the 2nd value to be calculated based on the 1st value. But when the 2nd value changes, you want the 1st value to be calculated based on the 2nd, ad infinitum. There are ways to short-circuit the loop, but it depends on whether you need to do the calculation only when there is manual entry, or whether you need it to work when either field value changes programmatically or by importing form data.
Sometimes it's just easier to have the user press a button to calculate and set the other field value.

  • Other user can not see the data from the workbook

    Hi Friends,
I created a workbook with some worksheets in a Business area. The owner of the workbook has no problem to view all the worksheets and get all the data returned.. I granted all the neccessary privileges to other users ,they could see the workbook, but no data returnd for the query results. Tried refresh the worksheet, same no data retrieved.Checked the SQL inspector and the plan, it showed the correct paths and execution plan without any errors there. The same query run in SQL plus by other users returned data correctly.
By the way, I had a summary folder in the workbook. During the troubleshooting, I dropped this summary folder, still the same no data return for other users.
Any body happen to know the cause or has some ideas on this issue?
The discoverer administrator verson is 9.0.4.00 and the PLUS /Viewer is 9.04.45.02.
    Thank you very much,
    J.K

    Hi All
The scheduling of reports, as you have probably noticed, requires that the scheduling privilege within Discoverer Administrator tool be granted to the user NOT to a role. Scheduling will not work if you attempt this. The reason for this is that these two SYS grants must go to a user:
    GRANT SELECT ON SYS.V_$PARAMETER
    GRANT EXECUTE ON SYS.DBMS_JOB
The user will also need to have these grants:
    CREATE PROCEDURE,
    CREATE TABLE,
    CREATE VIEW,
    EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE,
    UNLIMITED TABLESPACE on user's tablespace
My new Discoverer 10g Handbook, which I would recommend to anyone working with Discoverer, explains scheduling in detail and even tells you how the tables and views that are used to store the results work. You won't find this information anywhere else, as you will see if you read some of the five reviews that have been left on Amazon.com. For more information about the book please look here:
    http://learndiscoverer.com/books/books.htm
The PUBLIC grants are not having any impact. All these do is ensure that ALL users have the same basic privileges. You can just as easily grant these to any role of your choosing and it will work just fine.
By the way, because the PUBLIC role is the MINIMUM privileges that a user can have you might want to consider reducing the end user Discoverer privileges afforded to PUBLIC. By default, all users can Create and Edit workbooks, share workbooks, save workbooks and so on. This is far too rich a set of privileges for the basic user, who in most cases will be a VIEWER user. Whenever I create a new EUL I always recommend that my client reduces the PUBLIC user's privileges and then create new roles for more advanced VIEWER and PLUS users, adding privileges as required.
Thus, my basic VIEWER, aka PUBLIC, has only these privileges:
    Collect Query Statistics
    Item Drill
    Drill Out
My advanced VIEWER has this additional privilege:
    Save Workbooks to Database
My basic PLUS user has all of the above, plus these (pardon the pun):
    Create/Edit Query
    Create Link
and my advanced PLUS users get everything, which means they now get these as well:
    Grant Workbook
    Schedule Workbooks
I also remove the Save / Save As Actions link from Viewer which prevents the basic VIEWER users from knowing that it is there. In essence, because these users no longer can click the Save link and because they do not have the Save to Database privilege, they will not be prompted to save within Viewer no matter what they do. This now makes 10.1.2 Viewer work the same way as previous versions.
Even though the Save link is not there, my advanced Viewer users will be prompted to save if they have made any changes. This therefore allows you to have two classes of Viewer, one who can save and one that cannot.
    I hope this helps

  • Restrict Which Users Can Enter Data In List Form in SharePoint Foundation 2013

Is there a way to restrict which users can enter data in particular fields in a list item entry form?
We are using a SharePoint Foundation 2013 list and calendar to manage vacation time. We need to restrict non-supervisor users users from entering a value in a certain field in the vacation request form.
Here is how the system works now:
    1. Employees complete the vacation request form (which creates a list item)
    2. An email is sent to their supervisor to either approve or decline the request
    3. Approved requests are automatically entered onto the vacation calendar
We have restricted the list so that only supervisors can edit items (the pending vacation requests). The problem is that all users can mark their own requests as approved when they fill out the request form in the first place. Is there a way to restrict
which users can enter data in particular fields on a list item entry form?

Thanks for the suggestion. We ended up 1) hiding the approval column and 2) creating a second list, workflow, etc. The user no longer sees the approval column when filling out the form. Requests are now submitted to list A. Workflow #1 copies the request
to List B, then deletes the item from List A. Once the request is added to List B, Workflow #2 emails the user that the request has been received and emails the supervisor that a request needs to be approved. Only supervisors have editing permissions on List
    B. Approved requests are automatically added to the vacation calendar (the calendar view of List B).
We found the following site to be helpful in learning how to hide the list column:

  • Can you export the date and user to Excel that appears into a Comments field in a tracking list?

    Hi everyone,
Can you export the date and user to Excel that appears into a Comments field in a tracking list?
When i export a tracking list with a Comment field in the Content type, the screen where you enter the data for an item, the Comments field just export the text of the comment into the Excel file.
In the Comments field appears also, besides the comment text,  the user and date from who and when the comment is added.
Is there a way to export also the user and the date?
    Thanks
    Wim

create another comment field that doesn't use 'appending', and through SP Designer change workflow keep
updating that field with the new comments  (prepend the field with date/username/new comment). Hide the field on all forms, but put it in the view you need to export to Excel.

  • In the Date Picker, How can I default to select * dates if the user does ..

In the Date Picker, How can I default to select * dates if the user does not select a date.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Doug,
Now lets say l want everythingCould you post some sample data and the output that you want to get..? It would be much easy to understand the requirements...
When you mean everything, I am assuming you need all possible dates possible between date1 and date2.
    you can use... (from asktom.oracle.com).
      1  select to_date('12-jan-2009','DD-MON-YYYY') + rownum -1
      2    from ALL_OBJECTS
      3    where rownum <= (to_date('20-jan-2009','dd-mon-yyyy') -
      4*                     to_date('12-jan-2009','DD-MON-YYYY') +1 )
    sql> /
    TO_DATE('
    12-JAN-09
    13-JAN-09
    14-JAN-09
    15-JAN-09
    16-JAN-09
    17-JAN-09
    18-JAN-09
    19-JAN-09
    20-JAN-09
    9 rows selected.
For your case, since you have date1 and date2...
    select to_date(:p12_date1,'DD-MON-YYYY') + rownum -1
      from ALL_OBJECTS
      where rownum <= (to_date(:p12_date2,'dd-mon-yyyy') -
to_date(:p12_date1,'DD-MON-YYYY') +1 )Should work.. in my opinion...Haven't tested the second one in Apex .
Is this what you were looking for ..?? If not, please elaborate...
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

  • AP Aging report - key date for user entry

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to calculate aging buckets like 0-30,31-60,61-90...etc.
I know the key date for this report is created on net due date in SAP standard report.
In standard SAP report , key date is always a system date(SY-DATUM).
What we need for this report is , we need to get all the invoices which are outstanding as of that date(the date which user enters).
If user enters today's date(08/28/07) , he should get all the invoices outstanding till that date in aging buckets and if user enters some date in the past like 07/26/07, he should get all the invoices outstanding as of that date.
Can  someone Pls tell me if aging buckets are calculated based on a user entry ?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi Voodi,
Aging in the standard report is being calculated like below...
    1.For open items
    Posting date<key date
    Item status = O
2.Posting date < keydate and clearing date > key date and net due date with offsets on keydate ( key date + 1 - keydate+30 --- for 1-30 days) like wise for all aging buckets.
in this scenarion , key date is always system date ie today's date.
But user wants to get all the invoices based on his user entry...
is this possible with the same standard key date variable or do we need implement any other logic???
    Regards,
    Kumar

  • Date Calculation in BEx

    Hello All,
In my report, User wants to see a day counter which is the dfference of a date (date coming from cube) and Current date. For current date  we are using 0f_aday sap exit. How we can we acheive this, does it involve any User exits at the back end or can I use a calculated keyfigure to find the difference between these two dates.
Please reply to this as it is very Urgent Issue
    thank you

    HI AL,
Thanks for the udpate. But I believe we can update any thread if its related with the same subject if its less than 3 years. Is it not right ? I have a mail in my inbox, from some moderator confirming the same. That is the reason I have updated this thread...as its related to the same question and this thread is created n 2011.
Anyway, thanks for the answer. I will change the dimension to date and calculate the difference from the 2 variables.
Reg another doubt, from the below link...

what is the field used for Interval ( from, to , range) . You have missed my other question, why am I getting X below the result while doing the date calculation . I mean I am getting the result, but below every row, there is a X . Any ideas ?

  • How is delivery date calculated

How can anyone please explain how delivery date is calculated using forward and backward scheduling
I want to have it broken down into the following steps
for eg for delivery date calculation following dates are used
    Material Availabilty Date
    Material Staging Date
    Pick/pack time
    Transportation PLanning date
    Loading date
    Goods issue date
    Transit Date
    Delivery Date
Can some one please give me an example and explain wht these dates are
for eg customer needs delivery date on  11/20/2008
how would the system cacluate whether it can meet the delivery date using backward scheduling
and if it doesnt meet how does the system do the forward scheduling
also i am not clear with the following dates
    material avaialibilty date
    material staging date
    transportation date
can some one please explain me all this in detail
Also i have another question at the sales order creation when is shipping point and route determined
coz based on the ATP check only material avaialabilty date is determined and if we have a bacjground job running every 1 hours for atp then immediately when we create a sales order is a route and shipping point determined (just before we save the sales order)
    Let me be more clear
Suppose customer representative recevies a order on the phone
he enters sold to party, ship to party ,PO number, delivery date and material number and then hits enter
so at tht time the shipping point and route is determined ?
also when an atp check runs and if the delivery date is not met then the system will propose a new delivery date but if we have a different route configured say for eg overnight so we can meet the delivery date and we want to change this route to overnight what must we do?
should we change the shipping condition in the header?
I am not very sure about the process can you please also explain me this in detail?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
When a sales order is logged & the user enters the requested delivery date, system 1st does the backward scheduling date. Pla note that the factory calender mentioned in the shipping point & route plays a crutial role in defining the working days & confirmed delivery date.
For eg:  Customer has raised an order on 11/15 & requests delivery on 11/20/2008.
the following times are important in delivery scheduling.
    Transit time: maintained in route
Loading time maintained in the shipping point
Transportation planing time maintained in the transportation planning point.
pick pack time maintained in the shipping point.
Material availability time maintained in MM02 --> MRP screens. This is the time that the material can be manufactured (for inhouse producted items) or external processing time (for externallly procured materials like TAS items).
From the requested delivery date 11/20 system does the backward scheduling & determines the following dates:
Goods issue date, loading date, pick pack date, transportation planning date & material availability date.
    Time between:
goods issue date - reqested delivery date: transit time
Goods issue date - loading date: loading time
transportation planning date - pick pack date: picking pack time
Material availability date - transportation date: transportation planning time.
Consider that the factory calender has all days of the week as working dates (to make it simple to explain). Also transit time is 3 days, loading time is 1 day, pick pack time is 1 day, material availability time is 3 days.
From 11/20 ussing backward scheduling system determines the following dates:
    Goods issue date: 11/17
    Loading date: 11/16
    Pick pack date: 11/15
System will check if material is available on the 11/15 to start pick / pack. If it is available then system will confirm the reqested delivery date. Else it will check when the material is available. For eg basing on the MRP settings mnaterial is available only on 11/18. So from 18th system does forward scheduling & redetermines all the dates. So pick / pack date is 11/18. Loading date is 11/19, goods issue date is 11/20 & possible delivery date is 11/23. So system will confirm the delivery date on 11/23. This is when complete delivery is required. If partial delivery is allowed, then system will check how much quantity is available on 11/15. Accordingly it will give 2 delivery dates.
In the above example include teh factory calender which will have 5 day week with Fri & Sat as holidays. Accordingly dates will change.
Here replenishment lead time also plays an imp role. Pls refer http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/6b/2785347860ea35e10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm for further information

  • Java Applet: Caching data in User HDD?

    Hi,

    AaronYou have one answer above.
Create a jar file, put your applet classes in it, and then put the data files in the jar with the application. Theres no restriction as to the types of file you can put in a jar, and Jars are essentially zip files, so no point in zipping the data first.
As to storing stuff locally on the client, that's unadvisable, and disallowed due to the java security model anyhow. It is possible to override the security manager but, I'm not sure if this is possible with an applet though. It would undoubtedly not be hassle free.
Another thing that could help is jar caching..
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3/docs/appletcaching.html this would improve the start up time by caching the jar file on the client, between invocations.
