    thanks for your answer, but I asked to use sql loader instead of the external table, which so my question is why can not the epochtime converted to datetime, if there is no way to convert a datetime epochtime using sql loader, so I'm required to use the external table. thank you.

  • Equivalent datatype in Oracle for datetime of SQL Server

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm very much new to Oracle. I have been working with SQL Server since 3yrs. Currently I'm working with Oracle 11g.
    What is the equivalent datatype in oracle for datetime in sql server with which has the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS?
    I tried with timestamp and date which didnt solve my prob.... Please help me in using the equivalent datatype for the format provided above...

    Oracle date format can be anything you want, either by default at the session level or preferably explicitly using to_char and a format mask.

  • Mediator - convert XSD datetime to SQL date value

    Fusion 11g, JDev 11.1.1, W server 2008
    Hi there,
    using JDev we've defined a DB adapter (towards an ORACLE schema), which basically serves two operations: INSERT and SELECT. On the DB table we've got a DATE_TIME while on on the other side we've defined a wsdl where the INPUT operation takes as parameter an XSD DATETIME value.
    The values have different structures and so we've started to play with the "Assign Values" function on the Mediator component, unfortunately without any success.
    Right now our expression is the following
    from

    As first question I would like to ask you if our approach is correct and in that case what's wrong with our expression as we tried to use the same pattern as we use in SQL.
    Second, we performed some tests using the EM console. On test failure it shown a stack trace saying only that there was a problem performing a transformation. That's a bit too less, especially when transformation is done on large amount of values. Is there any way to increase trace level and get further details on which transformation didn't work out?

    Thanks Eric for the link. That helped me to get further details about the issue but unfortunately not enough to locate the cause.
    So here I definitely have an issue with the composite application and perhaps another one on getting a SOAP trace from the Mediator log. Even with the finest log level enabled I couldn't see what the Mediator receives from outside.
    The first problem instead, seams to be a missing SOAP parameter, I assume that's why on the log I see this

    oracle.tip.mediator.infra.exception.MediatorException: ORAMED-01201:[Error in transform operation]Error occurred while transforming payload.Possible Fix:Review the XSL or source payload. Either the XSL defined does not match with the payload or payload is invalid.
    In this routing there are basically 2 things that take place, an XSL mapping and an Assign value expression.
    Everything is goes fine until we perform a test from the EM, there we get the error.
    Unless someone has further tips on this issue I am considering to make a call from SOAPUI and place WS Monitor in the middle to make sure if the mistake is in the application or platform.

  • How to "insert" current datetime in SQL Server

    I am having trouble converting current datetime into proper format that can be used to insert values in the SQL Server database.Among other things, I also tried SimpleDateFormat which does not recognise the month value of Date() object.     You can try TimeStamp object
    and setting the value like
    pstmt.setTimestamp( 1, timeStamp );

    basically something like this...
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat();
    java.util.Date dt = sdf.parse(dateAsString);
    java.sql.Timestamp ts= new java.sql.Timestamp(dt.getTime());anyway it can handle different formats and i believe you can create your own if you need to.

    My server has
    System Locale en-gb; English (United Kingdom)
    Input Locale en-gb; English (United Kingdom)
    SQL account @@language is British
    I can insert the value '2013-01-18 16:05:21.683' into a DATETIME2 field but when trying to insert the same value into a DATETIME field I get the following error
    Msg 242, Level 16, State 3, Line 1
    The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
    I can insert the value '2013-01-18T16:05:21.683' into the datetime field OK.
    Why does it allow the insert into datetime2 but not datetime?

    I just wanted to know why entering the same value string into a datetime2 field works but doesn't into a datetime?
    Both statements will be using the same language and dateformat settings. I would expect both to work or both to fail, not one works and one doesn't.

  • Datetime from SQL server 2005 to Crystal Reports 11 subtracting 6 hours

    I have a view that I build a report from in crystal reports 11.  in the view in SQL server 2005 I have a date field that returns 2008-12-15 00:00:00.000 but when I view this in Crystal Reports it shows up as 12/14/08   6:00 pm.  Any suggestions why this is happening?

    never mind this post.  looks like it is the oledb provider we are using that has the issue.

  • How to calculate the time duration on a datetime column?

    Hi guys,
    I've done some search on this forum and everywhere else but I can't seem to get this right, at the beggining it sounded like something very simple to accomplish, for the instance with Excel but I'm struggling to get it to work with Crystal Reports on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
    I have a datetime column (SQL Server 2000) that I wanted to calculate the the time duration on the report group footer, unfortunatelly the built-in SUM function cannot be applied and I've tried several formulas that I've found on the internet without any luck. I'm using a datetime column to store only the time because I'm stuck with SQL Server 2000 which doesn't have a time data type.
    Would you guys know how to do it by any chance?

    Guess what, by further testing the code on the website mentioned above I got it working.
    Pus, I needed to change the grouping on the code, so I had to come up with a way to update the formulas based on the groupping field.
    Considering "call_date" is the field that you are groupping by on the designer use the following code to update the formula:

  • BI 7.3 delta extraction with SQL Server 2008

    Hi experts,
    I'm trying to extract data with delta update from a SQL Server with UD Connect, i test this ways:
    Field DateTime in SQL Server: The problem is I only can delta within a day, no changes detected in the same day because SAP detects two fields here date and time, and can only can reference date field as a delta field.
    Field TimesTamp in SQL Server: The problem seems the same, SAP recognize this as a date and time field.
    Can any explain here the correct way for a delta implementation with SQL Server 2008? I would be very grateful.

    That is what I need to do.
    Create a Model from an existing SQL Server database with the Import data Dictionary option , be able to modify tables structures, extended properties in the model, and then sync those changes with the database.
    So far I can't import the extended properties with DM 3.1.1. If you find a way , please let me know.

    In the process of trying to get JDeveloper working fully with MS-SQL, I am at the point of developing a custom type map.
    Should this typemap include all mappings or only those different than the "Java" or "Oracle" type map? I was assuming all at first. Now I wonder how it's handling missing mappings.
    How does it find a matching typemap? I noticed that Entity's database column types looked like "int(10,0)" and "bit(1,0)", but in my typemap, like the examples, it's just "INT", "BIT" with no precision, scale. Is this a case of where it's assuming the driver will return a string for type and it's returning type(p,s)? Or is JDev building that string? Either way, would you need a different mapping for "bit(1,0)" than "bit"?
    As "bit(1,0)" it had problems with both the Java map and my custom map. Changing it to "bit" seem to get it to work. So what typemapping was it trying to use as "bit(1,0)"?
    [Bug?] I noticed that when I view the bc4j settings (project (rt-click) -> edit business components project), the value for type map is incorrect if I am using a custom type map. If I am using the Java type map it says "Java" in the greyed out select, but if I am using my custom map ("MS-SQL"), it says "Oracle".     It seems that the problem was caused by the constant at the beginning of the record and had nothing to do with date formats.
