Datetime shift an hour after accepting recurrance calendar

Hi All,
Recently, I'm experiencing one issue as below:
1. Exchange 2003 SP2.
2. Using latest CDO/MAPI DLL to access one recurrance calendar which is in Kuwait, Riyadh。
3.  The inital is correct with daylighttime NO.
4. BUT, after accepting the calendar by CDO functions, the timezone information is changed to daylighttime YES.
5. Through tests, the issue only happened on Exchange 2003 and Kuwait, Riyadh or Baghdad time zone.
From MFCMAPI, seems the PidLidTimeZoneStruct property of the calednar has changed. However, per codes, there are no explicit codes to do the changing the struct.
Would you please give me some helps on it?
Thanks.

Server OS: Windows 2003 Enterprise
Email Software: Exchange 2003 SP2
Updates: Current (Yes)
Time zone set to automatic Pacific Daylight Time.
If I accept the calendar appointment via a PC Outlook setup. It records the time correctly. However when we accept an appointment through an iPhone or iPad it works but it increases the appointment time by 1 hour.

  • Why do my attachments disappear after accepting a calendar invite?

At work we use a lot of calendar attachments to disseminate information. When we send out an invitation to a meeting, the consultant gets the invite, sees the attachments, accepts the invite, then the attachments disappear if he doesn't save them BEFORE saying yes. Is there a way to change that? Thanks.

Gotcha, hmmm . I would agree, then - try out the external adapter. If it works, we know there's a good chance it's your on-board adapter. If it doesn't work, we know it may be something else, so you could try option 2 below:
Option 1, if the external adapter does solve the problem:
If it works, we know it's likely your on-board wireless adapter. So, if you haven't already, let's try installing the drivers for the adapter itself this time (not the ones for MiFi, but for your actual adapter). You can do this via Device Manager.
Option 2, if the external adapter doesn't solve the problem:
Well, maybe a new approach. Are you sure all of the drivers for your wireless adapter, your LAN adapter (unless it's the same) are updated? Matter of fact, if you haven't already, perhaps try running a scan to see if ANY of your drivers are out of date? It's crazy, but sometimes having something as seemingly irrelevant as a sound card or other driver out of date can cause a weird problem somewhere else.
If you arent sure about the drivers on your computer, I would recommend PC Pitstop. They have several computer scans, all free (and malware/spyware/bloatware free). To actually install the drivers you'd need to purchase a license, but for our purposes here that shouldn't be necessary. All we want to do right now is figure out if any of your drivers are out of date.

  • All Calendar appointments shifted 1 hour later after DST went into effect.

After this year's (2011) DST went into effect my wife's and my pre's appointments all shifted one hour later.  This was for appointments both before and after March 15 and also for appointments input into both a palm profile and also google appointments.  In looking at the forums this appears to have been a problem last year but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this issue this year.  Both of our phones have been running 1.4.5 since it was made available.
I online chatted with customer service and also called.  They had me try toggling airplane mode, turning airplane mode off then turning network time and network time zone off manually selecting the mountain time zone and then turning everything back on.  They also had me do a data reset on the phone.  None of these worked.  Lastly they had me manually set the time zone to Chihuahua, Mexico which is on mountain standard time.  This shifted the appointments back to their original time but the clock now was off by a hour earlier.

Same problem here. How could they not have this fixed by now? Anyone have the golden answer?

  • Iphone calendar off by 1 hour after daylight savings

i have my iphone synced to my outook 2007 through an exchange server. after daylight savings this weekend, all of my appointments are now off by 1 hour. they are all correct in my outlook and on the exchange server (verified by web browser). i've tried deleting the exchange account from the phone and reinstalling, but that doesn't work. also, when i try adding a new appointment on my iphone, it shows up off by one hour in the exchange calendar. my iphone is currently showing the correct time.
anyone know what the heck is going on?

I also had success using this method, from above:
On iPhone, go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Scroll way down to Time Zone Support. Note that it's listed as GMT-4. Turn slide button to OFF, then back to ON. Note that it automatically goes to Washington, DC (GMT-5).
    Calendar appointment times now correct.
Time on the iPhone updated automatically for daylight savings, but the Time Zone Support function didn't make the one-hour shift; they ended up out by an hour from one another. Forcing Time Zone Support to refresh its settings was all that was needed.

Before you panic, try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • The battery of my MBA 13 "mid 2011 is lasting less than two hours after installing the Mountain Lion. Would be the OS or apps consumed much?

My MBA is consuming the battery in less than two hours after I installed Lion Mountain. The update has already been done for some time. The problem of consumption would be the same OS, according to several complaints, or were inadequately apps consuming battery?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Mountain Lion freezes (SBBOD) exactly one hour after boot

Like many others, I experience the SBBOD on my MBP early 2011 with (GB of RAM and plenty of HD space. I upgraded in Sep/Oct, and everything has been running smoothly up until two weeks ago when I first experienced a crash. Now my MBP freezes EXACTLY one hour after boot or reboot.
I have tried resetting NVRAM/PRAM, ran the HW Test (no errors), repaired permissions, reinstalled OS, cleaned out outdated SW, plugins and prefs, reset the SMC, cleared caches, deleted the Finder prefs, Time Machine prefs and God only knows what else I've tried of tips & tricks I've found after googling this for a week. I'm running Console constantly, but this doesn't make me much wiser. Sometimes it doesn't record the last minutes before a crash, but the only messages that seem to show up fairly consistently lately are these:
07.02.13 13:39:29,541 apsd[72]: Unable to bootstrap_lookup connection port for 'com.apple.ubd.system-push': Unknown service name
    07.02.13 13:39:46,169 com.apple.quicklook.satellite[200]: bootstrap_look_up2 failed with 0x44c
I also saw this a little earlier today:
    07.02.13 09:38:56,000 kernel[0]: Got boot device = IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/SATA@1F,2/AppleIntelPchS eriesAHCI/PRT0@0/IOAHCIDevice@0/AppleAHCIDiskDriver/IOAHCIBlockStorageDevice/IOB lockStorageDriver/M4-CT512M4SSD2 Media/IOGUIDPartitionScheme/uten navn@2
which puzzles me a bit, because I have no volume called "uten navn" (translates to "no name") hooked up to my MBP.
I'm running Adobe CS5, updated web browsers, Office 2011, Apple Mail/Contacts/Calendar/Messages - but the SBBOD happens in any SW, and also if no SW is opened at all (except Finder). It even happens if I start my Mac in safe mode.
this is seriously frustrating - so if anyone has any idea what's going on, it would be much appreciated.

My battery is getting drained in two hours after getting hot. What's the solution?

Do you mean your iPhone was exposed to high temperature and now the battey life is very short?  If so, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check the battery and see if it needs to be replaced.  Lithium-Ion batteries are very sensitive to high temperature so there may be damage to your battery if it got very hot.

  • 2011 MBP (10.8.4) freezes exactly one hour after reboot

    Hello,
I'm having an issue identical to this poster insofar as I can tell, but some test results are different for me. Exactly one hour after rebooting or starting the computer, applications become unresponsive, video stops playing, then a little while later sound stops playing, and the cursor becomes a beachball if interacting with an application. Some windows can still be dragged or brought to the front of the screen for a short time. Eventually everything (except sometimes the cursor) is frozen and the machine never recovers from this state (for at least 15 minutes, I haven't let it go longer).
Most of the time this is accompanied by a CPU use spike and the fans spinning up, but not always. I have trawled through the system logs and disabled lots of LaunchAgents to no avail, so let me just list a few things I've tried and their result.
    Disabling wifi: no change
Removing RAM one slot at a time: no difference
Memtest: clean results, froze after 1 hour anyway
Apple Hardware test: clean result on extended test, progress *sometimes* halts at the end of the third or fourth pass after the "Main Logic Board" test had finished (during message "Testing in progress... Extended testing in progress").
System console/system.log shows no distinctive output immediately before freeze, unless I'm doing other things like playing audio or using the internet in which case the wifi interface has activity or CoreAudio turns outputs on, but this is different every time it crashes. I did find that GoogleSoftwareUpdate was implicated in one of the console logs, so I disabled and uninstalled that without effect. I recently started using Time Machine on an external drive, so I disabled that and removed the drive I'd selected from Time Machine preferences - no improvement.
While watching Activity Monitor during one freeze, I saw that cprefsd (root) had spiked to 260% CPU usage, fseventsd (root) to 128%, and several other processes to 100% (UserEventAgent, cprefsd, iTunes Helper, and apsd (root)). Everything else was at 1%.
Symptomatically, this appears to be a software issue (not an instant crash, elevated CPU usage, regular timed interval), but I've been unable to isolate the cause. I strongly suspect Time Machine is responsible (fseventsd is linked to it) but having disabled it in System Preferences I'm not sure if it should be eliminated. Alternately I believe this may be symptomatic of logic board, memory controller, or graphics card failure, but am at a loss to explain the regular (non-random, non-usage-dependent) occurrence. I performed the syslog test prescribed by Linc Davis in this thread and found only regular shutdown codes, so that also seems to point to software issues.

This morning I tried leaving the computer on in Safe Boot mode and the freeze occurred on schedule, with the windows becoming unresponsive at 60 minutes in, and the the beachball appearing as soon as I moved the cursor.
If I can get a full backup sorted (only essential stuff is cloned right now), I'll try a clean install of OS X from the recovery partition to see if it nixes whatever process is at fault. I have an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow evening, but if this is really a software problem then I'm not sure how they can help (except to replace it at cost). Are there any other tests or fixes I can try? What's the likely prognosis?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Apple replaced the logic board and the fix and it didn't fix the problem. To their credit, they refunded the repair fee. I ended up tracing the issue to a third-party drive I'd bought from NewEgg, a Crucial M4 SSD, which had a very peculiar firmware bug:
Correct a condition where an incorrect response to a SMART counter will cause the m4 drive to become unresponsive after 5184 hours of Power-on time. The drive will recover after a power cycle, however, this failure will repeat once per hour after reaching this point.
I would have probably gotten the update notice had I purchased direct from Crucial (or had it come pre-installed if I'd bought it a month later). If you have a similar issue, check your drive firmware!
