Davadmin db backup failed: Backend Exception: init/upgrade required
Do somebody knows what the reason for this error is (and how to fix ;-):
root@webmail:~/bin# /opt/comms/davserver/sbin/davadmin db backup -A caldav -u caldav -W <pwfile> -k /backup/davbackup/davdb-`date +%Y%m%d%H%M`.dmp

It looks like the Calendar Server is on 7u4-14.03 ( can be cross checked with 'davadmin -V' ), with this Version it is recommended that MySQL backends are upgraded to MySQL5.5.32.
From the reported issue it looks like the upgrade was not done completely.

Playbook - Appworld Fails to Open after 'Upgrade Required'
I've un-installed, and re-installed the Playbook OS from desktop manager, as well as wiping it from the security settings and re-updating the playbook. 2 times each way.
Everything goes AOK, until I opend appworld. A prompt appears stating that an upgrade is required. When I upgrade it closed Appworld, and when I re-open it, it's stuck on a colorful 'loading' screen and won't load.
If I deleted my wifi connection and re-add it, I can then select updates, it finds a 3MB update, which I run and then I'm right back to square 1. Open appworld, and it prompts for an upgrade.
Has anyone else run into this?

SQL2008R2Try tweeting to @blackberryhelp and include link to this post. Whilst BB are seeking a buyer/messiah and they sold very few LTE playbooks, even then mostly on a plan, I doubt they will fix this.
This is where I got my information.

Here's the situation:
Upgrading a SharePoint Server 2010 Search Service Application dB to our SharePoint 2013 SP 1 development environment, using the Management Shell
Running the following commands:
$applicationPool= Get-SPServiceApplicationPool -Identity 'SearchService_AppPool'
$searchInst = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceInstance -local
Restore-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -Name 'SearchServiceApplication' -applicationpool $applicationPool -databasename 'SearchServiceApplicationDB' -databaseserver SERVERNAME -AdminSearchServiceInstance $searchInst
Creates the search dBs (crawl, links, analytics) successfully; however, in the end, I get....
"Exception: Action 15.0.107.0 of Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Upgrade.SearchAdminDatabaseSequence failed."
Looking at the ULS logs, I find the following:
Inner Exception: An item with the same key has already been added.
at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.OOTBSchemaDefinition.FindAndFixExistingManagedProperties() at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.OOTBSchemaDefinition.InstallManagedProperties(Boolean

Anyone encounter anything like this during their search upgrade process? I'm not honestly even sure what duplicate value to look for at this point, if I were to run a SELECT Id, ClassId, ParentId, Name, Status, Version, Properties FROM Objects on
"SharePoint_Config" in SSMS. Any insight or opinions on the matter are welcome; and thanks to those who choose to reply to this, in advance.Hi ,
You can enable the ULS log on verbose level (note, remember to reset to default level after finished troubleshooting) for more information per the following article, then check there should be more useful message for helping solve the issue.

Problems upgrading from LMS 3.0 to LMS 3.2 - the backup fails.
I'm upgrading from LMS 3.0 to LMS 3.2 on Solaris. I've met all of the prereq's, patches, etc. It keeps failing on the Backup...It claims I need 15 Gig for the backup. The backup directory I'm using (/opt/backup) has 35 Gig free, so that shouldn't be the issue.
Here is the error I'm seeing in the backup.log;

okcwsi:
I've tried this multiple times and each time it appears to fail on a different file/folder in the sw_images directory. This is our FTP directory where we store lots of IOS images for download. I've removed each of these files it errors out on and it keeps failing. I just removed all files from the sw_images folder and am trying the backup again now.
I'm attaching the backup.log which contains the failure information for each backup I've tried in the past two days.
My main question is...can I skip this backup somehow? I've got another LMS 3.0 system that I can export everything I need from. Skipping the backup isn't an option on the install/upgrade? It gives me the option to quit the install or try the backup again.
Thanks,You can skip the backup with a hidden option:
./setup.sh -b nobackup
However, I wouldn't feel comfortable until figuring out why the backup has been failing, ostensibly because tar is running into the 255-char limit (100 for the filename and 155 for the path), a result of the many iterations of the following:
sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/cisco_configs/sw_images/ -
I just upgrade the database from 9i to 10.2.0.4. After the upgrade, the backup failed with the following error. What's wrong and how to fix? Thanks!

Time Machine backup failed following upgrade to OS X Mavericks
I upgraded from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to Mavericks yesterday, and since that time have consistently received an errror message that my Time Machine backup is failing. The message is: 'Backup Failed' 'The backup on "xxxxxx Time Capsule" is already in use.'
My backups to the Time Capsule worked flawlessly prior to the upgrade.
Additional troubleshooting:
- When I go to open the Time Capsule in Finder, I can see the folder for my iMac, but cannot open. "xxxxxx iMac.sparsebundle" Resource temporarily unavailable"
The backup disk image “/Volumes/Time Capsule-1/Michael Dollinger’s iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use.
Is this a permissions issue? If so, how do I resolve?
Any additional suggestionsNote, I MAY have resolved the issue. I updated the firmware on my Time Capsule (which was not previously even showing in Finder), and now the backup seems to be running. It took a long time (20+ minutes) to prep, but now it is running. I'll let you all know if this completes successfully.

ICloud backups failing due to Safari bookmarks DB being locked
iCloud backups are failing to complete on my iPhone 4 (CDMA), iOS 5.0.1. I successfully completed a backup on November 9, but haven't been able to get a backup to complete since then. When I manually invoke the "Back Up Now" function, it starts backing up, then says "There was a problem completing the backup. Please try again later."
Looking in the console logs (below), it appears the problem is that the Safari bookmarks DB is locked (corrupted?). Indeed, I am unable to add additional bookmarks in Safari, I get the message: "Bookmarks are being synced. Please add the bookmark once syncing has completed."
I've tried restarting the iPhone to no avail; I've also looked at Apple's iCloud backup troubleshooting doc, and none of the cases there seemed to match this problem.
Any suggestions ar every much appreciated!
Here is what the iPhone console says:

Nov 29 15:56:15 unknown backupd[7416] <Warning>: INFO: Scheduling next backup at 11/29/11 7:33:26 PMHad same problem, the solution lies with having your original apple ID associated email address "verified".
I may not have all the steps down correctly, but open your apple ID account manager and go to the your listing for email and "verify" the email address. This association then seems to allow the use of your email address when you are trying to set up this new apple ID that they are requiring for iCloud.
Be aware that this new apple ID has a far reach and apparently cannot be undone, that is you can't change the name, characters, numbers or whatever you have for an email address that becomes your apple ID---even if you can no longer use the email address to receive email.
Lots of luck.
I have been trying to get the iCloud features to work for over a week now, including a visit to a genius bar, and still not fully functioning. -
Hi
We have a Windows 2012 server with Exchange 2013, all is working fine except now i am getting issues with the backup.
'Exchange - The application will not be available for recovery from this backup. the consistency check failed for the component Microsoft Exchange Server'
I have checked the database all is fine, i have created a new db and move all mailbox;s over and then removed the old db, i have enabled circular logging and then disabled it, it seems no matter what i do i cannot get a full backup!
i did have to restore the server once and the backups still worked for about 4 days after that and then stopped, i have also tried to remove and re add the backup role!
i am stumped, any advice would be great!Hi
Ok, i created a test db and tried to back it up right away, it failed, i did not add any mailbox's to it either. i got quite a few events in the windows logs, as well as the same event above i got the following:

Time machine backup failed to restore
HHaving had major issues with Mail I decided to restore from a Time Machine backup. With hindsight I wish I hadn't! Having foolishly agreed to the 'this will erase everything' warning I waited 8 hours (twice) to get the message that my backup failed to restore. No more detail than that. Does anyone have any ideas / suggestions? I have a MBA with latest upgrade of Yosemite (last upgrade probably caused my Mail issue). Everything is backed up using Time Machine to a Netgear NAS. When going through the restore process I have no is
TThanks Eric. At present I can't connect the NAS directly. I dont seem to have a usb to usb cable. It is connecting via a network cable. My MBA can see the NAS and I've successfully entered my login details and chosen the backup I want to restore.
On C's recommendation I tried reinstalling OSX and planned to then try importing all my files on,y to find that there was not enough disk space. I've now erased everything as it occurred to me that starting with most of my 250G drive free might help. I'm having one more go at restoring directly from the TM backup as this would be my preferred solution (indeed what I had assumed Time Machine was meant for). On,y another 7 hours 26 minutes to wait. If that fails I will have another go at a fresh OS X install and reimport from TM (on the assumption that an empty hard disk will allow that this time).
ANd do all this because MaIl stopped working with my old POP account and I screwed up the switch to IMAP (by dragging my old Pop account contents across to the new IMAP account is created - will need to do that more carefully if I ever get back to where I started!). -
Trying to enable iCloud on my new iPhone, I keep getting a message that states: iCloud Backup Failed: There was a problem enabling iCloud storage. Why is this? Also, I can't seem to sync my Address book contacts to iPhone as well. Any advice?
Thanks,
RichardSame problem here...
I just upgraded my 3GS to iOS5 and signed into iCloud using my Apple ID...
Every time I click "Back Up Now" in the iCloud preferences on the iPhone, I get "There was a problem completing the backup. Please try again later."
On my wife's iPhone 4, I just performed a back up and there were no errors. I tried this also on my wife's iPad 2 and it worked perfectly.
I have tried the following:
1. In iTunes, when my phone is connected, I selected "Back up to iCloud" on the summary tab
2. Reset my phone using the steps in the above post
3. Deleted the iCloud account on my iPhone and logged in again
4. Tried to backup from 3 different wireless networks
None of the steps above fixed the issue which has been going on all day for me...
Any other help would be great - thanks! -

SCE Backup fail with Version 3.6.5 Build 489
Hello,
I upgraded my SCE 2020 and now can't do a subscriber backup on local Disk
Subscriber backup failed on SCE 2020 Version 3.6.5 Build 489:
sce#>conf
sce(config)#>interface LineCard 0
sce(config if)#>subscriber export csv-file subsback.csv
0 subscriber(s); 0 error(s)
sce(config if)#>
But I have 1298 subscribers !!!
sce#>show interface linecard 0 subscriber all-names
There are 1298 subscribers in the data-base:
N/A
subscriber1
subscriber2
subscriber3
subscriber1298
sce#>
(These commands worked well with old Firmare 3.5.0 Build 407).
Any idea about the problem ? It's a new Bug ?
Thanks for comments.
Best regards.
SebHi,
This is Shelley from Cisco TAC. I support the SCE.
This is a bug and was identified a few weeks ago. I would like you to open a TAC case so that we can track and monitor user affected by this bug. Once you open the case, we will provide you with the Bug ID as well (at this time it is internal hence cannot share)
Hope this answers your query.(Please mark complete if so and rate.)

Backups fail with Insufficient privileges error
Oracle 9.2.0.5 database
Solaris Operating Sysstem
I needed to recreate one database recently from the backup. I used DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE comamand to recreate database. And once client confirmed I removed old database and copied this new database to original location and recreated controlfile.
But the tape backups are failing ever since then.
Is it because of password file problems ? This is a a totally new database and also DBID is different . But database name is same and created from backups of old database.
Backups fail with this error.
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
But the RMANUSER has the same privileges as in other databases on this server.
SQL> select username,sysdba,sysoper from v$pwfile_users;
USERNAME SYSDB SYSOP
SYS TRUE TRUE
RMANUSER TRUE FALSE
SQL> select privilege from dba_sys_privs where grantee='RMANUSER';
PRIVILEGE
CREATE SESSION
UNLIMITED TABLESPACE
How to resolve this issue ?I actually recreated the password file using orapwd utility. But when checked the V$PWFILE_USERS it showed no users. Not even SYS
And I tired to grant SYSDBA to RMANUSER. It failed with the following error.
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01999: password file mode has changed from 'exclusive' to 'shared'
But the show parameter REMOTE showed that remote_login_passwordfile is still EXCLUSIVE. And database uses an INIT file, not SPFILE.
I had to move back the copy of Old password file and now it shows two users (SYS and RMANUSER) again. -
Hello all,
Doubt this issue relates to a recent and ugly issue but sharing anyways (resolved thanks to a user here: LaPastenague)
Time Capsule won't backup if Modem (Motorola SB6121) attached
This was on Feb 10th resolved. Few days later I upgraded to Yosemite. Backups were working fine since.
Yesterday I happen to notice my last backup was 5 days ago. I looked in the console logs and saw:
2/25/15 3:55:06.127 PM com.apple.backupd[2777]: Attempting to mount network destination URL: afp://Paul;AUTH=SRP@Time%20Capsule._afpovertcp._tcp.local./Data

I called Apple. Their front line was clueless. He suggested resetting the TC (latest "tower" model btw") which then a backup kicked off YEAH
But the next hour it failed
Called Apple again, this time to Sr Advisor. He suggested factory reset of the TC and set up again. Also first backup worked then rest failed
Third call to Apple useless also. He was asking questions I didn't feel relevant. He also was asking me to reset the TC which I told him was done 2 hours prior. He asked me to reboot which I could NOT at that time.
I begged him to collect data to submit to engineering, which will take days to get a reply.
So I thought I would throw this out to the community....
TC Is NEW (replaced from last issue). Mac is 8 months old (iMac 27"), Os is Yosemite, TC also new (latest model)
Thanks...Yosemite is problematic on two fronts.. Networking and Time Machine.. so the combo of doing both with a Time Capsule is like bugs on bugs.
Here is my standard list.. but your problem maybe difficult to resolve.. and my suggestion is simple.. until Apple get their act together and fix TM.. buy Carbon Copy Cloner and use that for your backup. It is solid and reliable.. even better if you use USB drive plugged into the computer and do a bootable clone.. because then you have a backup that is able to be tested for full functionality 2min after the end of the backup.
This also starts from a factory reset.. but the reason for it is to change the configuration which is much more easily handled with factory reset to begin.. the instructions are there.. because this is my standard reply.. this is not uncommon!!
Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Setup the TC again.
ie Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the hard disk doing this.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite.
1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg TCgen5 and TCwifi for basestation and wireless respectively.
Even better if the issue is more wireless use TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense. But this can be tried in the second round.
2. Use all passwords that also comply but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
3. Ensure the TC always takes the same IP address.. you will need to do this on the main router using dhcp reservation.. or a bit more complex setup using static IP in the TC. But this is important.. having IP drift all over the place when Yosemite cannot remember its own name for 5 min after a reboot makes for poor networking. If the TC is main router it will not be an issue.
4. Check your share name on the computer is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. but this change will mess up your TM backup.. so be prepared to do a new full backup. Sorry.. keep this one for second round if you want to avoid a new backup.
5. Mount the TC disk in the computer manually.
In Finder, Go, Connect to server from the top menu,
Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever the TC ip is which you have now made static. As a router by default it is 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with that unless you know what you are doing).
You can use name.. SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your TC name.. local is the default domain of the TC and doesn't change.
However names are not so easy as IP address.. nor as reliable. At least not in Yosemite they aren't. The domain can also be an issue if you are not plugged or wireless directly to the TC.
6. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only.
There is a lot more jiggery pokery you can try but the above is a good start.. if you find it still unreliable.. don't be surprised.
You might need to do some more work on the Mac itself. eg Reset the PRAM.. has helped some people. Clean install of the OS is also helpful if you upgrade installed.
Tell us how you go.
Someone posted a solution.. See this thread.
Macbook can't find Time Capsule anymore
Start from the bottom and work up.. What I list here is good network practice changes but I have avoided Yosemites bug heaven.
This user has had success and a few others as well.
RáNdÓm GéÉzÁ
Yosemite has serious DNS bug in the networking application.. here is the lets say more arcane method of fixing it by doing a network transplant from mavericks.

Anyone has any idea or faced this issue before please guide me what is the cause, i have got a feeling that this may be because server has run out of memory.i havn't written anything before calling set buiffer sizeSo why does the exception message say the opposite?
I can see that error may be because of a jsp named cart_thank-you.jspSo can I. So have a look at it. It is writing something before the other thing is calling setBufferSize().
you can see that in erro logSo can you.
