Day Limit in Change View "Terms of Payment":Details?

What does exactly does the Daylimit field in
"Change View " Terms of payment": Details "means?
A detail explanation with an EXAMPLE is well appreciated.
Thanks for your time

Hi,
The DayLimit Under Payment Term is Used to specify Perticular date to which you want the " Payment Term" or Condition should apply on the Invoice.  Explain you with simple example.
Eg: 1.Payment Term 1001
DayLimit 15
Discount 2%
With the above inputs system Consider only the invoices posted on and before 15th date for 2% discount and for the Invoices posted after 15 of every month the said discount is not calculated or system will not consider the line for discount.
Eg. Payment Term 1001
Daylimit 31
Discount 4%
with the above inputs system consider's invoices posted from 16 to 31 dates for discount of 4%.
So If requirment is like this invoices posted on or before 15 should get 2% discount and invoices posted between 16 to 31 should get 4% discount then you can create the above manner.
Hope you doupt is cleared .
Thanks

  • Day Limit Field in the Terms Of payment

    hi,
may i know how to use the day limit field in the terms of payment maintenance with some real live examples?

    Hi Raja,
The concept of day limit is to divide the Terms of Payment (TOP) in to different intervals
I will give you an example of that
As you know you mantain TOP in the customer master data
Suppose for the same customer you want the baseline date will be different in different time interval of the month
    1) Invoices which are raised in the first 15 days of the month you want to have the baseline date as 15th of the next month
    2) Invoices which are generated in the last 15 days of the month for the same customer you want the baseline date should be the 30th of the next month
So in this way you can have different baseline dates for a customer for the same TOP

  • Change in Terms of payment for Vendors / Customers

    Dear Friends,
If the Terms of Payments are changed in Vendor / Customer master data then what will be the effect on below situation :
    1.   How will any open Purchase Orders and any open Sales Orders be updated?
    2.  How will processed, yet open customer invoices and vendor invoices be updated?
Please share your views on above.
    Regards,

    Hi Bidyut,
SAP works on very clear philosphy known as changes with prospective effect.
When you create a Purchase order or Sales order, this import Payment term from Purchasing area (not from Payment TAB) and sales area. In case you change the payment term in Vendor/Customer master, the invoices created taking the reference of the already created purchase/Sales orders will still have the old Payment Term.
But the payment term field is editable so if you think these are not correct, you can change the payment term in PO/SO and even in invoices anytime but useful only if changed before they are paid.
    Hope this answers your query.
    Regards

  • Fixed day limit to calculate Due date for payments

    Dear Gurus,
My Management wants to regulate its cash flows and want to use terms of payment in such a way that customer invoicing should be due on whole month evenly
    Proposed payment plan is that
if invoices are created with 01 to 15th of the month, term of payment should be 40 days due net
if invoices are created with 16 to 25th of the month, term of payment should be 30 days due net
if invoices are created with 26 to 30th of the month, term of payment should be 25 days due net
so according to above scenario, plan should be
Invoice date     Payment terms     payment due date
    9/1/2011     40     10/11/2011
    9/15/2011     40     10/25/2011
    9/16/2011     30     10/16/2011
    9/25/2011     30     10/25/2011
    9/26/2011     25     10/21/2011
    9/30/2011     25     10/25/2011
    Requirement,
Please advice how to cater it through OBB8 or should we have to look towards ABAP solution

    Hi

    In Payment Terms TAB
    Term      Percentage            No,of.days
    1             0.00                          40
    2)
    Payment Terms           Z01
    Day Limet                    25
    In Payment Terms TAB
    Term      Percentage            No,of.days

  • Change terms of payment and credit limit

Hello, i need to change the terms of payment of a customer as well as  his credit limit.
    CUSTOMER - terms of payment
    KNB1-ZTERM
    KNVV-ZTERM
    CUSTOMER - credit limit
    KNKA-KLIMG
    KNKA-KLIME
    KNKK-KNKK
any idea of how to do this (bapi or FM) besides of doing a BDC

    Try function "BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1"
First look at it seems to show that it might work.  It calls function "SD_CUSTOMER_MAINTAIN_KNKA_K":
(iv) insert the credit control data
      IF CREDIT_CONTROL_FLAG = 'X'
      AND SY-SUBRC = 0.
        CALL FUNCTION 'SD_CUSTOMER_MAINTAIN_KNKA_K'
            EXPORTING
                PI_REF_CUSTOMER   = I_BAPIKNA102-REF_CUSTMR
                PI_CUSTOMER       = I_BAPIKNA103-CUSTOMER
            EXCEPTIONS
                KNKA_INSERT_ERROR = 23
                KNKK_INSERT_ERROR = 24.
      ENDIF.
Would still require some investigation.  But seems like it might be a good starting point for you.

  • "Day limit" in terms of payment

    hi all,
can someone explain me the purpose of the below fields in terms of payment, preferably with scenario ?
    day limit
    fixed day
    additional months
    Regards,
    Surya

    Hi
    Below are the explainations
1.Day Limit  -   Day Limit Field which you find under Payment Term is for giving the Day Limitations.. ex : if Business says that they want to give Discount of 2% for the Invoices Posted till 15 th of evey month. and 0 % for the Invoices Posted after 15th to 31.
when you give 15 in Day Limit Field - the system checks for the Invoices posted till on or before 15th and for invoices Posted after 15 , discount will not calculated.
2.Fixed Day -  If Business decide to Give discount if the Payment is done on a perticular day or date then we give here tht date.
                           ex:15th of every month.
3.Additional months - if the discount and Payment Due date should be next month or comming month ..we use this Field. Ex : for an invoice posted on or before 15 of this Month the Net Due date should be 20 of Next month then ,we create the Payment term
day Limit -15, Fixed date 20 and Addtional Month 1
Hope the above explaintations clarify your doupts.
    Thanks

  • Changing terms of payment on an order

    Hello Everyone,
There is a big issue at my company and I am hoping someone can help me out with this. There are occasions when a customer will come into one of our branches and place an order on their account that has the terms of payment set to cash. The order will flow through our system and not hit VKM1 for credit check. Once the customer gets the product they will say they don't have the cash and they want it to go open account terms. Our branch employee will then go into VA02 and change the terms of payment on the order after post goods issue so the order will not get credit checked in VKM1 and the amount will go open account. We will end up not getting paid for this merchandise. Is there any way to put a block on this change after post goods issue in VA02? I was told that no credit checking can be done once the order gets to that point. Please help.

Item Payment terms is not available in SAP E-Commerce without enhancements.
Since the item update event doesn't include this field in the backend interface, the best approach is to use "Extension data" fields at item level to add this feature. The update of the backend "model" needs to be done using ABAP in the item extension BAdI. ( I am assuming crmstandard scenario).
You can use the "same" JSP code with little modification to read the item payment terms field. The valuehelp used in the header can be used for item too. From JSP, you can add the field value to extension data of Items in the SalesDocumentParser's customer exit for item.
This new custom field has to be read in the item BAdI and later added to the Item payment term in the backend order object (Order_maintain).
In the response cycle in the same item BAdI, the value then has to be read from the order object (Order_read) and added to the extension data tab.

  • Terms of payment -percentage & days

    Hi,
spro-define terms of payment - we have percentage field & no of days
suppose if we give 2% 10 days
what is the impact of this

    Hi,
This means, if the customer makes the payment in the 10days time, then the customer will get 2% cash discount.
In transaction code OBB8, you can find terms of payment details. Check one of terms and click on the details button. Inside you can find various fields, where in you can define parameters based on your requirements.
    For further details, you can refer the link;

  • Terms of payment - OBB8

    Hi Experts,
My issues is creating terms of payment for vendor
    1. 1% cash discount if paid within 60 days
    2. no cash discount if paid within 61 to 65 days and bill should not show as overdue  till 65 days
    3. no cash disocount if paid after 65 days and bill should show as overdue
I have set the condition as below :
    1st      1%              60 days
    2nd                        65 days
while executing FBL1N , due days / overdue  days are shown correctly, but while making payment if it falls between 61 to 65 days discount is calculated @ 1%. There is no tolerance limit configured in vendor master for grace days.
How to set terms of payment for the above condition.
Immediate help in this regard will be highly appreciated
    Regards
    Narayanan

    Hi Ravi
In SD and MM you can do it with BADI or enhancements. Please, see these notes:
Note 1156325 - BAdIs in the Logistics Invoice Verification environment
Note 301077 - User exits for the interface to accounting
For invoices in FI (FB60/FB70 and so on), maybe with the BTE 00001610
    I hope this helps you
