DB parameter check for AUTO_MAINT failed

Can someone help me out.  I am doing the prepare for an Upgrade to ERP 2005 from SAP 4.7.  I am at the General Checks phase 07 of the prepare and it is failing and the CHECKS.LOG shows.  DB parameter check for AUTO_MAINT failed.  I have checked this parameter using db2 get db cfg for <SID> and the param is set to = ON.  I have changed it to OFF just as an attempt but no luck.  Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

hi,
my first advice would be to use the latest SAPup version from SAP service marketplace (build version >24.063) - since i do not know which SAPup version and which DB2 version you are using.
please keep in mind also point XII/ of OSS note 819876:
XII/   SAPup 7.00/2, build 24.063 or higher, generates incorrect
commands for the adjustment of database parameters for DB Version 8
The CHK_DB6_PAR_INI and CHK_DB6_PAR_PRE phases check the values of the
selected db(m) cfg parameters. If you need to change these values, the
commands required to change the parameters are explicitly issued in
CHECKS.LOG.
As of SAPup 7.00/2 build 24.063 and higher, incorrect commands may be
gerenated for DB2 UDB Version 8. Use the following list to change these:
db(m) parameter     Generated value     Modified value
DIR_CACHE                0                      NO
KEEPFENCED            0                      NO
DFT_MON_BUFPOOL  1                      ON
AUTO_MAINT              1                      ON
AUTO_TBL_MAINT       1                      ON
AUTO_RUNSTATS       1                      ON
Example:
Instead of the generated command
db2 update db cfg for <SAPSID> using AUTO_MAINT 1
you must enter the following changed command:
db2 update db cfg for <SAPSID> using AUTO_MAINT ON

  • P2 "Check for update failed unexpectedly"

    Hi
I am implementing p2 update for my application (followed tutorial on https://blog.codecentric.de/en/2015/04/add-p2-update-functionality-to-an-efxclipse-application-eclipse-rcp-cookbook/)
Application finds update (tells that there are updates for my product) but gives an error
"Check for update failed unexpectedly". Thats all. Nothing more. How can I debug? I can not test under Eclipse. What should I do?
    Ubuntu 14.10, JDK 1.8-45, Mars Efxclipse 2.0.0
By the way thank you very much Tom, for all answers you give. I really appreciate your help.

There should be some more information, as the causing exception is included in the wrapping StatusException.
To debug have a look at UpdateServiceImpl#checkUpdate() where the exception is raised.
You could for example register a listener onException() to your UpdateService#checkUpdate() to get more information about the raised StatusException.

  • Check for updates fails - no error code

I had Adobe Reader 9.2 on my desktop running Vista Home Premium SP2.  When I opened Reader and went to "help," and then selected "check for updates," the pop-up window that normally comes up and shows the progress of the update search would appear, but only for a few seconds, after which I would get an updater window that just says, "Update Failed."  There is no error code, and no other message.
I was able to successfully download and install Reader 9.3.0 manually from the Adobe website, but the updater is behaving exactly the same way in 9.3.  Again, I could manually download and install the patches for 9.3 (9.3.1, 9.3.2), but if I try to "check for updates" from within the program the updater runs for a couple of seconds and then fails.
    Help?

  • Checking for PCMCIA fails

    Hi everyone,
I have a laptop (Toshiba SP6100) and a DAQCard PCMCIA (NI DAQCard-700) that work fine at normal conditions, I mean, I can acquire usually.
Sometimes, when I try to put the PCMCIA at a free slot, the laptop ignores it.
I have checked that if I put the board connected to nothing or connected to something 'off' the laptop detects it inmediately.
But, if the board is connected to something 'on' (p.ej. a signal function generator) is possible that the laptop will not detect the board.
    Knows somebody why it happens?
    Thanks.

It sounds like the problem stems from the operating system of the laptop not recognizing the device. I assume you are using a Windows operating system. Do you know whether the PCMCIA socket driver the laptop is using is the native Windows socket driver? If not, you could try to uninstall the 3rd party PCMCIA socket driver and install the native Windows driver from the Windows CD.
Other than that, it sounds like the laptop itself is having problems when the DAQCard is connected to anything powered on. I think it is probably a good idea to install the DAQCard in the laptop prior to sending any signals to the DAQCard. It seems that this would be a safer way to handle the DAQCard.

  • Installing OCS 10g on RHEL 3 (Upd 4) failing kernel parameter checks

    Hi all,
I am preparing for upgrading my OCS 9.0.4.2 to 10g. While running the Universal Installer it fails within the kernel parameter checks. It complains about two parameters that cannot find in /proc/sys/kernel. The two parameters are: hardnofiles and softnofiles. I don't have any idea what those could be, anyone out there who can tell me what this means?
    Thanks,
    Stephan

  • Error : Opening a rowset for "Sheet$" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.

    Hi,
i am trying to load the data from excel sheet using For each loop container in ssis 2005.
But it gave me the below error:
Error: Opening a rowset for "Sheet1$" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: "component "failed validation and returned validation status "VS_ISBROKEN".
Error: There were errors during task validation.
Could you please let me know the solution
    Regards

    That message usually means validation has failed;
Have any of the underlying tables changed?  Data types, lengths, maybe even column ordering, etc...?
    try this..
Right-click on the Data Flow Task and select Properties. Then set DelayValidation =TRUE.
    Let us TRY this |

    Thanks ETL.
    Everything is fine..(Datatypes,length,orderings etc)
    Already i have set
    DelayValidation =TRUE.
    IS there any other problem?

I bought a new iMac 27" yesterday, running with Mavericks OS.  Attempting to download Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium. Loaded software from discs. When I check for updates they fail to install. A window comes up saying "Some updates failed to install." Then under each applications it says "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." Have done this several times. Suggestions?

  • Mac OS X 10.6.8, receiving error message "Failed to check for updates. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted." How to fix?

When I try to update my software, I'm receiving the error message "Failed to check for updates. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted."
I'm using Safari 4.0.3. Yes, I know this is an old version of Safari - I can't update it, or any other software on my MacBook. Should I just wait for the Lion OS, or is there any kind of fix a non-technical Mac user like me can attempt without screwing up her laptop?
I've tried clearing my cache and resetting Safari already - doesn't help. I've also tried to update after disabling my (Norton) antivirus software, thinking that might be interfering. None of these help.
I don't know if it's a related problem, but also I can't download .pdf files from the internet, although I used to be able to.

You should use the NortonAV uninstaller to uninstall it. Disabling the dreadful thing in the past hasn't always been sufficient for it to cease creating system havoc. The Mac NortonAV version has a long and well-earned reputation for doing truly seriously nasty things to OS X. Shame on Comcast for inflicting NortonAV on its Mac customers. It's not a matter of if NortonAV will mess up OS X but when and how badly. I can't help but wondering if some setting in your Norton AV has decided that NortonAV, rather than you, will be making executive decisions about what you are allowed to install on your computer and is keeping that fact a secret.
After you are done uninstalling Norton use the finder to search for any Norton files that the uninstaller might have missed. Add the option to search for invisible files.
After you have removed all the Norton bits and pieces restart in safe mode by holding down the shift key right after the startup chime. Keep holding down the shift key until you see the Apple logo and spinning gear. Safe mode does some maintenance tasks which means a much longer than normal startup time. Use Disk Utility to repair permission
If your Mac works normally in safe mode restart. If things still aren't fixed you might want to give another shot at reinstalling Snow Leopard from the install DVD and applying the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo before taking your Mac to the Apple Store.
If you feel the need to run AV software on your Mac use ClamXav in manual mode. It's donationware and doesn't seem to cause the litany of weird problems that are associated with other AV software.
