I have AIX/ORACLE 9.2.0.8/SAP 4.6C system.
I am getting error in DB13 while running any job.

File permissions & ownership of libjox9.a is fine.
Also ora<sid> and <sid>adm env setting are OK.
I have even tried replacing libjox9.a from another running system but it didn't worked.
Please suggest what else can be tried to solve this problem

Hi Adriaan,
Did you run brconnect as ora<sid> or <sid>adm?
Also run the checks in note 400241 if you haven't already.

I am trying to schedule Whole offline backup through DB13 in Solution Manager 4.
The backup kicks off at the schedule time but ends with error with in seconds.
When i go and check the background job in SM37, the Job DBA:ALLOFFLINE______@174008/4000 is with Finished successfully status
I check the JOB log in DB13,

No action log for this action found in the database
Check the detail log
There are no logs created at OS level /oracle/SID/sapbackup
I then started the backup usning BRTOOLS at os level and Backup is successful.
Please suggest what could be the problem.

1) I do not think the recommendation is good.
Table SDBAC should only be "touched" if indicated by an SAP note.
2) at the same time, I think it may be part of the problem.

That is an OFFLINE backup plus a verification.
AFAIK, that is not a standard SAP JOB.
I assume that someone has changed the entry in SDBAC introducing this "new" action.
DB13 does not have coded such action, therefore it is not able to find it on the "control" tables and also it is not able to find the log.
Advise
1) check if someone changed that entry
2) check if there any "beagpiht*" log file in your system
3) do not play with SDBAC
Another option would be that you are in a MCOD database. Is that the case?

ORA-27072: File I/O error
As per the [SAP note 914177 - File system reiserfs Oracle parameter filesystemio_options|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=914177] this issue is caused by the file system that is used and by the init.ora parameter filesystemio_options = setall.
Have a look at that note.

DB13 - Error when starting jobs

Hello,
After an upgrade from R/3 Enterprise Ext 2.00 to ERP 2005 i have a permission problem concerning the jobs. I have already executed sapdba_role.sql for R3(some errors in log), SR3 (no errors in log) and even SID(didn't take a look at log).
All brtools are working correct when calling them directly on windows. But if I want to start the same jobs on DB13 following errors appear:

So, there must be problems with the permissions from the SAP System. I suppose that the sql-file is working correctly, so what could be the reason then?

It still has the same errors.
I've got a system copy of it where everything works fine. The directory rights are as followed:
c:\oracle\ - Adm, Creator, SYS, USR
c:\oracle\SID\ - Adm, Creator, SYS, USR
c:\oracle\SID\102 - Adm (w/o special), Auth, SYS
c:\oracle\SID\102\database - Adm (w/o special), Auth, SYS
c:\oracle\SID\102\database\sap.ora - Adm (w/o special), Auth, SYS
Adm - Administrators (full),
Creator - CREATOR OWNER (special permissions),
SYS - SYSTEM (full without special permissions),
USR - Users (Read&Execute, List content of folders, Read, special permissions)
Auth - Authenticated Users (Read&Execute, List content of folders, Read)
So the same with the productive system. I doubt that it is the folder and file rights.

DB13 error: 0003 Error during initialization

Dear All,
Since last 2 days, Production backup is getting failed with error "0003 Error during initialization".
Strangely, there are no related logs to investigate further... Nothing was changed in backup related configurations.
We are using Tivoli (TSM) backup solution..
System Details: HP-UX 11.31i, Oracle10g (10.2.0.4), ECC 6.0
In DB13 Action logs, it is showing following details only...
Action: Whole database offline backup
Brbackup logfile : bedjjsnb.log ##### Actually it should show filename something like "bedjjsnb.aff"
Return Code : 0003 Error during initialization
When I click on "Show Actiion/Detail log", it shows nothing... (Log file does not exists..)
There is no file with above filename in /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup and in back<SID>.log
I have checked below things :
1. BRTOOL permissions (As per note 113747 - Permissions for DBA tools BRTools and SAPDBA)
2. /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup permissions (it is 755 with ora<sid>:dba ownership)
3. I have checked /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log, but there is no error.
4. Test for communication between SAP server and Tivoli is OK.
5. TSM Session query is also returning desired result.
6. I made sure that there are free and scratched tape in TSM for SAP backup pool.
7. No other backup was running at the time of SAP backup.
I have tried taking backup on DISK which is successful without any errors or warnings.
What else I can check ? Am I missing something ?
Any inputs will be highly appreciated...
I will try to fire backup manually later in the evening after business hours to see what exactly going wrong in between.

Thank God, at last I have an answer. The Solution Steps are:
1. Change brbackup, brarchive, brconnect, brrestore and brtool to ver 6.10 instead of 4.6D
2. Apply sapdba_role.sql
3. reinstall veritas sapR3 agent.

DB13 error for BRconnect

Hello Experts,
We are scheduling the check database and update statistics job from DB13. the job finishes (completed status) within seconds. The job log shows that the DB instance is shutdown. However the DB instance is fine and application is up and running.
We get this error only when we schedule it through DB13. Hence we are forced to run the jobs from OS level using ora<sid> user. It works fine with ora<sid> user.

DB13 error for checkdatabase job

Our system has been working fine for db13 autoscheduled jobs , but suddenly from last 4 weeks checkdb and other jobs are failing , though our backups through DB13 is working fine , but other jobs are failing .

permissions on brtools is fine , i have checked in my Quality system and DB13 works fine over there , all settings for ops$ users and sapuser tables on PRD system is same as QA system , still error occured
i also fired query
SQL> grant select , update on ops$db1adm.sapuser to ops$db1adm;
Grant succeeded.
but no gain ... is sapdba_role.sql need to be run then let me know ,

hello All,
when I try to delete or edit any DBA Job in transaction DB13 the following error is displayed:
An error occurred when processing system
Function DB6_PLAN_DELETE_BATCH failed with return code = Job error
How can I fix this error and delete or change my DBA jobs?
My syste is SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 - Solaris 10 - Oracle 10.2.0.4.0

errno 13: Permission denied
this is not an oracle error. This error is due to wrong authorizations at operating system level.
can you check authorizations for BR*Tools and SAPDBA in accordance with Note 113747

this type of error happens when there are permission problems. Check permission of BRtools

Db13 Error BR0981W During CheckDB

Hi Experts,
I' running ECC5.0 with Oracle.
While CheckDB in db13 I'm recieveign following error from few days.
BR0981W Not enough disk space for the total maximum size 90000.000 MB of 9 files of tablespace PSAP<SID> on disk device 5578786, missing at least 46664.094 MB
BR0981W Not enough disk space for the total maximum size 40000.000 MB of 4 files of tablespace PSAP<SID>640 on disk device 5578786, missing at least 4064.094 MB
BR0981W Not enough disk space for the total maximum size 50000.000 MB of 5 files of tablespace PSAP<SID>640 on disk device 5578783, missing at least 6934.141 MB
BR0981W Not enough disk space for the total maximum size 50000.000 MB of 5 files of tablespace PSAP<SID>640 on disk device 5578784, missing at least 5729.336 MB
I've tried to increase 5000mb the Tablespace thru BRtools, but after I'm getting same error with more diskspace required:

Hi Prakash,
You are getting the Warnings not Error because your autoextend option of datafiles is on, you can avoid this warnings by switching off the autoextend option of datafiles.
I suggest you to add new HDD to the system & move some of the datafiles from current drive to the newly attach drive so that you can avoid to get this warning message as your data files will get more space to autoextend.
Do not swith off the autoextend mode.
