DBA Support cost - Per DB ( Unit Pricing Model) .

Hi,
For one of the RFP solution we are asked to give the DBA Support cost Per unit ( Different pricing for Simple, medium, Complex Categories ) .
Do you know the typical price range for DB / Instance ?
Apart from Clustering,Size what all factors are taken into account to decide on Complexity
Thanks in advance for an immediate reply

  • Manufacturing cost per unit

    Hi.. Experts.
My client is in producing Perfumes (Process manufacturing- chemical Industry) and Production wants to know the cost of per unit manufactured in the plant/plants and explains this in form of the following points.
To arrive at manufacturing cost per unit we need to know
    1) Per Unit cost of materials inclusive of transport (Raw & packaging material)
    2) Conversion cost per unit which will include
    a) Energy & other utilities expenses
    b) Labor cost per unit (days wages of all in production / units produced)
    c) Cost of quality--- including testing outside and chemicals used for testing in plant plus salary per day of people engaged in testing in q.c department.
    d) Cost of administration-- employees engaged as well as office expenses like telephone, transport
Please consult me how to configure the above requirements in sap business one.
    Regards

    hi raakshit
The first point is where would u like to capture these records if its at the time of production order the it is easy
u can create UDF for all related items u have mentioned and fill the value manually and then in the production order either u can write the value manually or u can run A FMS which will sum up all the value and also the value of BoM ITEMS and would reflect in the total field
or if u wana add it in teh sales order i.e u want to show it at the time of sales then u can add all the items in the freight setup
Hope this would suffice your concern.

  • What are the key benefits and limitations of new pricing model of X5-2?

What are the key benefits and limitations of new pricing model that started with X5 version?

    1. Elastic Configurations
Size/price hardware by the number of servers; Fixed configs no longer required
Start with 2 Database Servers and 3 Storage Servers. Incrementally add database or storage servers online.
    2. Capacity-on-Demand (CoD)
Upon installation, activate 40-100% of the cores per server and reduce software licenses; Applies to Eighth Rack now too
Activate and license more cores when needed; Active cores may not be deactivated
    3. OVM and Trusted Partitions
License software on Virtual CPUs within a VM; Ideal for special-purpose DB options
You can mix different combination of options for different DB on one Exadata.
OVM has no License cost; support is included with premier hardware support
    Limitation:
At least 40% of usable cores on the machine must be licensed for Oracle software
Cannot use both OVM and CoD to license less than 40% of cores
A server must be virtualized or non-virtualized – not mixed
A RAC cluster can mix virtualized and non-virtualized servers
    4. “Flash Drive” License Metric for EF Storage Server Software
    $20K/drive; 8 flash drives/EF server vs 12 disk drives/HC server = 33% higher list
Can transfer licenses between Flash Drive (2 licenses/drive) and Disk Drive (1 license/drive) – part # is the same

  • New "throttled" ICE pricing model proposal to Adobe

First off I agree that the ICE service should not be free, but for it to be worth while from a business standpoint, and at $20 per month paid to Adobe, the "web shop" would need to charge at least $10 per month to each client to use the service. It's a given that most clients won't want to pay more than $10 a month for the ICE service unless their web site is a large one. So if Adobe needs $20 a month for 5 domains in the current price proposal, the web shop would need to have 2 clients using it right away just to break even and acquire 3 clients just to start making a profit. The proposed pricing model puts much more "pressure" on the web shop's side to sign people up on the service as fast as possible starting out. The situation becomes even more evident if the web shop has 6 clients and is now paying $40 a month to Adobe for two base accounts. With 5 clients and one base account the web shop profits $50-($20 to Adobe)=$30 total per month. With 6 clients and two base accounts the web shop profit takes a dip with $60-($40 to Adobe)=$20 total profit per month. So the current pricing model becomes a kind of stair-stepping profit and loss situation for the web shop when they don't have each base account "loaded up" per say.
A MUCH better pricing strategy for both Adobe and web shop owners would be for Adobe to create an initial 3 domain base account for $10 a month and then "throttle the price" for each additional domain. This would lower the initial profit risk for the web shop greatly. Let me illustrate... Let's say Adobe charges a base price of $10 a month for a 3 domain base account to start with. Then for every NEW domain there is an additional $5 a month charge. Ok, so let's say the web shop has 5 client domains... now we have a a base price of $10 (3 domains in the base) + 2 NEW domains and that's a total of a $20 total per month paid to Adobe. Now for 5 domains Adobe is STILL making the $20 a month it needs. At this point though, the web shop has 5 committed ICE clients and is charging a minimum of $10 per domain so they receive $50 per month minus the $20 paid back to Adobe for a total profit of $30 per month. If the web shop has 6 client domains then the total profit is $25 to Adobe rather than having to pay $40 per month with the current proposed pricing model. Now we must look at how this pricing strategy "benefits" Adobe, because at 6 domains Adobe was previously getting $40 for two base accounts with 5 domains in each. BUT if they go with a throttled pricing model those same 10 domains now would mean $45 per month ($10 base + 7 new domains at $5 each for $35) instead of the previous $40 per month for Adobe. Ok, wait a second (I can hear most of you saying it now) why would we now pay Adobe an extra $5 per month for 10 domains? The answer is simple, because previously they would be getting $40 a month for say 6 domains whereas now they would only get (($10 + 3 new domains x $5 each = $15)) = a total of $25 per month for 6 domains. This is very fair because Adobe now takes on a lower rate per month as the domain counts ramp up, but now at the 10 domain mark they would be getting $45 per month instead of $40.
Overall this strategy eliminates the starting risk for the web shop, ensures the web shop's profit right away, and in the long run Adobe profits a little bit more for higher domains counts. Both sides get a much better deal with a throttled pricing model!
And as a last note of "profitable hope" for the web shop readers, you could also base your ICE monthly service price on the size of each client's web site. For example: 20 pages or less = $10 per month, 21- 50 pages = $15 per month and for large web sites above 50 pages you could go with $20 per month. This is actually still fair, because if you think about it you still have to provide ICE code support for each page should something go wrong and provide support for ICE user e-mail questions, training, etc. So the more page support you have to deal with code-wise, e-mail-wise, or even phone-wise the more it should justify a higher monthly cost back to your client for having a larger web site to maintain overall.

  • Network pricing model explained?

As far as i understand this: (using O2 prices as example)
    £35.00x18mth Contract + £99.00 = 600mins + 500txt + free internet + 8gb iphone
    £20.00x1mth Contract = 600mins + 600txt + free internet
    Cost of iphone to customer over 18mth = £15.00x18 + £99 = £369.00
Effect of taking contract is like taking out a loan for the outstanding cost of the phone spread over 18mth. add on the cost of call plan = cost per month
Reason for no early upgrades : O2 pays cost price of iphone on day one, recoups £99 on day one, recoups £15 per month from then on .. iphone cost payed off after 16mths.
This is not an exact science, but if you do the math for all other call plans/models you get rougly the same answers.
You want the new iphone every year? sign up for the 24mth business plan (new phone every 12mths)
cant comment on AT&T pricing but must have very similar figures behind it.
    Comments?

I don't if your numbers are right, but you got the gist of it. You are paying back the carrier over X amount of months for the rest of the cost of the phone they had to pay to the phone manufacturer.

  • Manage Item Cost per Warehouse

Previous posts have confirmed that it is not possible to change the Manage Item Cost per Warehouse option once any inventory transactions have been posted.  One entry posted in Feb 2010 (below) even offered a link to other "Irreversible Ticks" (although that link is now broken).  This limitation is required in order to preserve the relational integrity of the system, within its design architecture.
    Manage item cost per warehouse
If a database has been in operation for several years with company-level costing, and business changes now force tracking costs by warehouse, I see no option other than creating a new database with the per-warehouse option, then loading items, inventory, GL, etc.  Unfortunately, all history (GL transactions, document history, change log, etc.) is no longer available in that database.
Is anyone aware of SAP plans or tools to support any other alternatives to this kind of business change?
    Thanks, Dave

    Hi Dave,
I am afraid creating a new database is your only option.
For old data, you may still keep access for certain reports. All open items has to be imported to new db. It is a kind of manual archiving. Your database performance will gain a lot though.
    Thanks,

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 - The Really High Cost Per Page

On February 6, 2014 I bought an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 all-in-one, including the OPTIONAL tray 2.
I use it in my home office with five computers.  One is a new Apple MacBook Pro OS 10.9.5, another is a three year old HP Laptop on Windows 7, and another is a five year old Dell Desktop still on Windows XP.
I bought the printer to . . . print.  I thought I might be a nice convenience to write business correspondence and print an envelope, without the need to change paper, or otherwise touch the printer until I was ready.
The printer is advertised, even in the user manual and box, to be capable of 1200 dpi printing, even though it uses the below average PCL Print Driver and not Post Script.
The printer works fine, but the HP driver and utility software must be written for a different printer.  If I put HP Inkjet 20# paper in tray 2, and #10 envelopes in a locked tray 1, I can print at the "best print setting" which still isn't great.  But it works.
If I put HP Premium Presentation Paper 32# paper in tray 2 ($8.00 per 100 sheets), and the same quality #10 envelope in tray 1, the printer software loses it's mind.  It performs the same on all five computers.
When I try to print a business letter and envelope the print driver and HP utility grays out tray 2, and it grays out the "best" print setting.  In short the only choice is NOT to use HP brand papers, or remove tray 2, print the business letters, and then remove the 8.5X11 HP Premium Paper, install envelopes, and print again.  Not what I had in mind.
I've been in touch with HP as the printer is still under warranty.  They offered a replacement, that will have the same printer an utility problems, or to buy it back at $175.
I bought the original printer for $249, tray 2 for $125, and 5 XL print cartridges for $149.  That is a total of $588.  If I sell it back to HP check out the cost per page.  At $588 - $175 = $413/2742 total pages = 15 cents a page!  Owch!!!
There is nothing wrong with the printer as such.  The problem is the HP Utility and Driver.  When did HP stop using a traditional warranty, and give pennies on the dollar, when they clearly have a software problem, they refuse to fix?

Hi there @Oceankey , welcome to the forums
I understand your Officejet 8600 is no longer copying an entire page from the scanner bed.
I am unsure of which troubleshooting steps you have tried for this problem however, I would suggest updating the firmware (if needed), power resetting the printer and to ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

  • Freight Cost Per Kilometer

    Dear All,
Plz give me some idea about how to calculate and determine freight cost per kilometer in shipping cost document.
    Thanks & Regards,
    PM

You should be able to achieve this by making use of the route determination functionlity in LE (logistics execution).
When you define a route and its different stages (if applicable) you can assign a predetermined distance that is measure in KM.
In pricing determination you then use a condition type for freight that is distance dependant or simply with calculation type = quantity . You may create an access sequence that reads the distance from the route in the document to derive the rate per km for that route which you would have maintained in the condition records.

I am requesting you all please guide me where i did the mistake either in "Configure measurement document updation" or calculation method?

  • Custom SAP report used to display an average standard cost per material.

    Hi All,
I need to implement a report with the following functionality,
This is a custom SAP report used to display an average standard cost per material.  Standard cost data is stored in SAP at the Material/Plant level.  This report will gather the individual Standard Costs at each applicable plant (restricted by selection screen input and additional logic specified in more detail in the u201CReport Fieldsu201D section) for applicable Materials (restricted by selection screen input; if not specified all materials should be returned) and calculate an average standard cost for each material.  The corresponding Currency and Base Unit of Measure will also be displayed.
Additionally the relevant u201CCommodity Code/Import Codeu201D information should be displayed for each material returned.  This attribute is also stored at the Material/Plant level.  To determine the value of this field for each relevant material, the report logic must retrieve the values stored for each plant.  If all values are the same, the value can be output to the report.  If not all values are equal, a message u201CNot Consistentu201D should be output.  It should be noted that if all values are u201Cnull,u201D a null value should be returned in the report.
Can any one provide me with sample code for the same??
    Thanks Debrup.

  • Trying to determine costs per concurrent user

I have tried to investigate the services and theirs costs as well as I can and tried to get help. However I have very little experience with hosting and databases so after all this research I'm left with a bunch of questions.
Forgive me if this is too many for this kind of forum, if so, could you please refer me to where I can learn more?
We're developing a multiplayer browser game in Unity3D. The game will communicate with a SQL database. I'm trying to determine how much it will cost me per Monthly Active User (MAU) and per Concurrent User (CCU). To do so I need some things clarified. In order
to determine which feature will be the most limiting and therefore define which performance level I need.
They will on average communicate with the database app. two times a minute (defined as two queries per minute). Does this mean that I need a transaction rate of at least two per CCU?
How fast can you open and close a session? I'm trying to figure out whether I need to have one session open constantly per user connected to the game. If so, I suppose max sessions would be equal to CCU?
If I need more CCU than one database of a given performance level supports can I then just subscribe for more databases which will then automatically become copies of one another and you will divide users between the databases automatically?
As I understand your description of your database services through Basic, Standard and Premium, the database will be able to work independently of additional webhosting. However then I do not understand why there is no info in regards to bandwith limitations.
Do I need your webhosting services along with subscribing for the database? Then I suppose the bandwith limitations of the webhosting applies for the database as well?
In regards to the webhosting, besides for maybe handling the database, the website's by far most demanding service will be to allow users to download a game of max 30 MB. How can I estimate how many users will be able to download simoultaneously from a given
    VM instance, e.g. basic 1?
If the database depends on this website for communication to the game, how can I then estimate how demanding that will be to the power of a given VM instance?
I realise that some of these questions may be difficult to give precise answers to but any help with getting closer to an answer is highly appreciated.

This is by no means accurate and complete, but will give you an idea about how to go about doing estimates:
First you need to know what database tier you need: basic, standard or premium.
The tier you need depends on the processing power you need, and directly relates to the number of concurrent users you have at any given time and the processing requirement of the database.
You can determine this only after you do some benchmarking of your app.
Supposed you have 100 users and you need basic tier S0, then cost per user will be (cost for S0)/100.
Then you need cost for your web service/site.
Again you need to know how powerful it needs to be.
You can determine this only after you do some benchmarking of your app.
Again supposed you need a A3 then cost per user will be (cost of A3)/100.
Then you need cost for data transfer from your web service to your user.
Supposed every data transfer is 10K, then you have 20K/min.
Supposed a user stays in your game for an hour, then you have 1.2M/user/session.
Supposed the user plays 10 times/month, then you have 12M/user per month. Then you can calculate the cost per user.
I suppose you can safely assume that bandwidth is not a limitation in Azure for your app for the moment.
    Frank

  • Indicator: Storage costs per day

    Hi,
In the SNP Optimiser input logs, if you go to ET- LOCMAT (Location Products), there is a 5th column Ind: Storage Costs Per Day.
Where do you set this indicator?
    Nitin Thatte

    Hi
In the Optimiser Profile itself there is a setting that either "penalises" you for the storage cost per bucket or per each day within the bucket.
It depends on your system as to exactly where it is, for example in SCM 5.0 it is on the "Model Params" tab under the section "Bucket Length", the settings you want is "Average Stock on Hand"
Not very intuative I know, but it will then set that indicator in ET_ARCMAT for you.

  • How much does Student CC cost per month if you are a returning member?

Last year I purchased the CC, for $200, a first time member discount, this year, the price nearly doubled without me knowing. I was not aware that it would cost nearly $400, for a student, to have the CC. I can only imagine how much other consumers have to pay for it. Now, the website does not say how much it cost per month for a returning consumer, only for a first time member. I would like the prices to be laid out in front of me so I see where my money is going. It is upsetting to find out that a program doubles the next year you buy it. Also, does the price increase every year a consumer returns? Thank you.

  • Shipment cost per ton

    HI,
My user requirement is to see shipment cost per ton at present we are using shipment cost as total amount for the shipment
How to achieve this what are the settings we have to do in condition background.
    Your reply is most valuable
    Regards,
    MH

    Dear Mohammed,
What is the unit of measure for the material? is it TON? Are you maintaining the weight at the sales order level?
if you are using the UOM as ton then u can change the freight condition type to quantity from Fixed amount. This will solve the issue.
If you are using a different UOM for sales and weight is maintained at the sales order or delivery level then change the frieght condition type from fixed amount to weight or use any condition type which calculates based on the weight.
Fized amount is normally at the shipment cost item level and Ton should always be at the delivery item level. So change the shipment item category on how exactly the cost needs to be distributed.
Please revert for any further clarification.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pavan P.
