$DBConnection_OLTP is not well define - OBIE Applicatn 7.9.6 / DAC 10.1.3.4

In new version of DAC, once you setup the Physical Data Sources then while setting the Parameters for Execution PLan, there is a drop down list which gives all the available Physical Data Source. You cannot mistype it.
The Physical Data Sources have been setup and the Test Connection gives me Successful message but when i run the DAC Tasks, i get following error: $DBConnection_OLTP is not well defined. If you see the log below, the variable for $DBConnection_OLTP is properly assigned to PSFT_8_9_FINSCM.

You are correct.... I was able to run the DAC processes successfully with the old application.... 7.9.5.
I guess bad timing hit me bad. I just had loaded the older version and was about to continue... Then the new version came in which supported the latest PeopleSoft version and had Budgets and Projects module in it.
Now when i uninstalled and re-installed, i hit another problem where something went wrong with Informatica.... I had Key recognition issue.... So i reformatted my laptop all over and started from Fresh.... I was able to load everything and everything was smooth until i hit this other problem now....
I surely have an option to go back to old version but then i loose some of the new functionality.... So before i am compelled to go there, i want to give this a try as best as possible.
Will Oralce Support the SR in Oracle Metalink if we have not purchased the Application? My client has only purchased the OBIE Enterprise Suite.... But i am playing with this Application to get an understanding of this product.

Not well defined classpath when using XML-RPC

im trying to setup a webservice using XML-RPC
I get real time ClassNotDefined exceptions, and all i can suppose, i haven't set up the classpath correctly.
I must inform you, that i've allready put the xerces.jar, xmlrpc-1.2-b1.jar (and so on...) at my (JAVA_HOME)\jre\lib and (JAVA_HOME)\jre\lib\ext folders. I use the following statements :

XML Custom Panels: Samples With Doc are Not Well Formed XML

The custom panel samples in the XMP Custom Panels document (and the accompanying sample file) is not well formed XML (which means that CS3 can't be parsing the file as XML, which would explain how this error made it publication). In particular, the XML declaration is missing the closing "?".
 
 As published it is:
 
 <?xml version="1.0"?>
 
 It should be:
 
 <?xml version="1.0"?>
 
 Note the "?>" rather than ">".
 
 This is in addition to the DOCTYPE SYSTEM URL not resolving to an actual DTD declaration set (which would be:

You'll have to do something to prevent your logger from appending to old logs that have been closed. Sorry if that is not very helpful, but I'm not familiar with the logging features in SDK 1.4. For your interest, though, Log4J (which you can get from Apache) also features XML logging, and it solved that rather obvious problem thus:
"The output of the XMLLayout consists of a series of log4j:event elements as defined in the log4j.dtd. It does not output a complete well-formed XML file. The output is designed to be included as an external entity in a separate file to form a correct XML file."
In other words, you would have to wrap the output in an XML header and a root node to be able to use it, which is not difficult to do.

Not well-formed XML

Hi guys,
I need to parse an XML file which is not well formed.
For example, the value of an element named 'topic' contains html tags which are not ended properly etc..
e.g. <topic>Some text </topic>
Why do I need this? Because some idiots on their web site publish XML data (not well formed) which indeed is very valuable to me, and I want to use it. I tried contacting them on the "not-well-formed-XML" issue but haven't managed to get a reply yet. Hence I have been struggling with this using the SAX API and so on...
I think there should be a way to ignore some elements' content when parsing the XML data but I haven't been able to do it...I am not experienced on SAX or DOM API's...
For example if the problem is caused only by the BR tags then when I encounter it, either startTag or endTag, I should be able to ignore it. When I say "ignore", I mean "not change the state of the parser", or undo the last state change or whatever...Well at least I think I would write an XML parser like this if I were to do that...
Any help is appreciated...

There is no such thing as an "XML file which is not
well formed." There are files that look like they
might be XML files but are not valid. I think that is
what you have. One of the key differences between XML
and HTML is that HTML has allowed sloppy habits to
become routine. XML prohibits them from getting past
the hurdle of validation.

As I said I'm not experienced in XML but as far as I understand, a document is called "valid" when it conforms to all the constraints imposed by a DTD. However, there is no DTD in my case and the XML document I have is not "well-formed" as defined below:
A well-formed XML document is syntactically correct. It does not have any angle brackets that are not part of tags. (The entity references < and > are used to embed angle brackets in an XML document.) In addition, all tags have an ending tag or are themselves self-ending (<slide>..</slide> or <slide/>). In addition, in a well-formed document, all tags are fully nested. They never overlap, so this arrangement would produce an error: <slide><image>..</slide></image>. Knowing that a document is well formed makes it possible to process it. A well-formed document may not be valid however. To determine that, you need a validating parser and a DTD.
According to the above definition the XML document I have violates the constraints and not well formed. But you can argue that the XML document I got is not an XML document but it is just some document :) Then anyway, I am not sure about all this terminology...
The technique you suggested seems reasonable but as far as I know the SAX parser stops parsing when a fatal error is encountered. So I don't know how I will trap/ignore the error and continue...
As for the JTidy suggestion:
I have tried using HttpUnit which uses JTidy and couldn't get it right. I think when a DOM is created using JTidy the document must also be well formed (XHTML or whatever)...Am I wrong here?

ALSB throws fault message with:

I managed to get user-friendly error message with two proxy service where:
- Proxy service “A” calls the proxy service “B”. In Route Error Handler of proxy service “A” checks if proxy service “B” throws the BEA’s error message and changes it in to error message that I want. Service Type of proxy service “A” is WSDL Web Service.
- Proxy service “B” have some logics and calls the real business service. Service type of proxy service “B” is any SOAP Service
Is this good solution in terms of the overall load on the system?
Also, is there any other solution to get user-friendly error message from ALSB proxy service? Is it possible to make this with only one proxy service?

I would do it like this:
At the start of your proxy service add a "Validate" action. In the action's properties you can choose what to do when an error occurs (you can either save the error message to a variable or raise the error). Leave the default option "raise error". Add an exception handler to your proxy service and add the desired logic to change the error message into something else.

Read counter at well defined time intervals

Hardware : PCI-6224 & PCI-6723
Software : DAQmx & Labview
1) I connect an external device that generates TTL pulses to one of the board counters.
2) I want to know how many pulses were generated between 2 reads of the counter.
I can do that so far.
3) BUT it is very important to read the counter at a precise frequency, in other words with a hardware clock.
I tried to create a virtual channel using counter1 and the "DAQmx
timing sample clock" with the card 20MHz timebase as the source to
trigger every read of the counter. The read function is in a while loop.
But it doesn't work. I am stuck at this point.

A simple solution is to put a pulse train out of one counter at some known frequency, the period on this pulse train will be time each TTL in will be integrated (counted) from. Lets say this is 10KHz so each bin of TTL counts will be 100us. On a second counter set the counter to count TTLs on the source pin corresponding to the TTL in line and have it count in buffered event counting mode from rising edge of the gate to rising edge of the gate. Now you should set the out pfi of the pulse of the pulse train to the gate pfi of the buffered event counter. You should be able to count events (TTL edges) on a well defined time period. I have done this with a 6602 in both traditional and daqMX labview code. One warning in daqMX mode the default is to filter out 0 events, so if there are times where no TTLs arrive on the source line, and this is a valid case, make this setting false. I am not infront of LV right now so I cant give you any code or exact function names but hopefully you can follow the general architecture. Good luck,

I copied from one folder to another folder my course. I am making a Spanish versio
n and want to keep everything spereated. All goes well but I am getting over 100
errors -> Multiple constructor definitions found. Constructor may not be defined in <Script/> code. Doesn't effect the program but it does
get anoying. I first thought it was the linking so I went in and im
ported from the current folder the images so it was pointing right... no go still does it.
Created a brand new fla and copied all my frames into it... no go still
does it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem?

Found out nothing was wrong with my coding. Sometimes when watching the AIR app playing in Flash I go back to my code to make a fix then that is when all the errors appear. Read the adl.exe is not releasing and is causing the problem?

I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.
2. the back and forward buttons were not highlighted, as if I had not come from a previous page; so once I clicked on a link to a new page I could not go back to where I came from because Fiefox thought I hadn't come from anywhere.
3. there may have been other errors, but I did not find them.
How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?
Even to write this message I have been forced to use (yuk -- I don't like to say this!!!) Internet Explorer. So please -- I need help urgently.

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I hope that solves your problem too.

When run the Flex file, I get a run-time message which seems
to indicate that the XML is not well-formed. (Here is a bit of the
message; not sure I'm understanding it!):
[RPC Fault faultString="Error #1088: The markup in the
document following the root element must be well-formed."
faultCode="Client.CouldNotDecode" faultDetail="null"]
I am ASSUMING that the CF page is not returning the xml as
desired, because if I simply change the flex http service call to
the xml file that the CF page is including, the flex app runs as
expected and without errors:

(something in the posting mech is making the above url
statement messed up, but you can probably tell what I mean)
I am a CF developer and although haven't used the book's
exact method to get the cf generated xml, I have done so
successfully for Spry and other things.
I tried some ot the things I had to do to get the CF
generated xml to work in Spry with this flex, but didn't help.
Tried adding a reset='true" with the cfcontent tag; tried making
the cfcontent wrap the output; added cfprocessing tags to
suppresswhitespace.
Appreciate any thoughts/help on how to solve this. Also,
whether others agree that the problem is with the generated xml
rather than something else.

I don't remember the exact context when I first posted this
question and answered it; but, if one doesn't want to change
overall settings for debugging in cf admin., I *think* you can
ajust for a specific area using cfsetting and/or
cfprocessingdirective. There's a number of attributes and
combinations there that I think can take care of the problem. I
forget for sure, but may want to try that, especially on a
development box where you might generally want debugging to be on.
Also, if using cfcs in any part of what you generate, they
can produce whitespace. To solve (or minimize), make sure that
output attribute in the component is false and that output in
function is false (unless directly outputting within the function.
Seems like CF and whitespace is an ongoing item to try to
manage.

The statement above is in the pop up error box every time, when I launch Firefox. If I click ok in the box Firefox then opens. How do I fix this initializing/launch problem?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Error on Purchase Order - Document number 45* not within defined interval

Hi All,
PLEASE HELP ME or guide me in the right direction.
I am faced with a somewhat unique case in our enviroment. Some background first.
Back in 2000 when we upgraded from Walker to SAP, a number of Purchase orders had to be migrated, one of them is the order i am struggling with. Back then very little validations were built in, resulting in a Local Order being incorrectly created as a International Order but against a local currency.
Now this ordered is still being reflected as open in our system. When attempting to change the order by activating the 'Delivery Complete indicator", we get an error "use only foreign currency" This is due to the fact that validations against Document Type and Currency was created in 2003 and are in full operation now. It is hard coded thus i can not remove this easily.
Now when attempting to get around this by changing the Document Type to a Local Purchase order or trying to delete a line, we get the error below.
"Document number 45* not within defined interval"
Number ranges do come to mind based on the error description, however, Local Orders have a number range of 45, International Orders have a number range of 47. In this case, the order is created as a International Order BUT the number range is 45*, again, due to a lack of validations/incorrect config back in 2000
Do any of you know a possible solution to such a problem.

The validation of document type and currency is not standard, and if this validation cannot be deactivated, then you will have to resort to making changes in debug mode. Put a breakpoint at the relevant check and force it to accept the current combination.
The second option is to update EKPO table manually using SE16N. Set the delivery completed indicator to X.

Logical System Name 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST' is not properly defined in SLD

Im getting this error message:

What action should I take to fix this error? is this a web dynpro side error or basis error?

Please test the JCO destination for the model data and meta data which you are using in the webdynpro model.
As per the error message you are getting 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST' is not defined in the QA.
Please create it in the QA manually and test it. Copy the name of the modeldata and metadata and use the same name in logical destination during model creation in webdynpro.
