IMO this error is wrong initialization of htp package.
I don't know which toolkits is included into Oracle 8.1.7, but probably is a same as IAS toolkit.
In this case to use htp.print or htp.prn procedure first needs call to htp.init procedure.
For example:
begin
htp.init;
htp.print('Hellow world');
htp.flush;
owa_util.showpage;
end;
Also probably there are more errors because the bad initialization of owa package.
Owa package is not designed to use by sql plus command line interface. Try with IAS or XSQL owa call.
Best regards, Marcelo.
PD: owa_util 318 line is a line which contain access to owa.cgi_var_name array, this array is filled by IAS/OAS before the procedure call, then, using SQL Plus this array is empty.
Steve: This is not an error of dbxml package.

  • Error at lowest level

    I am trying to use Berkeley DB XML on a Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit, but keep failing in the most simple scenarios: (I use ver 2.4.13)
    1) Just after install (from .msi file) when I start the shell from the command prompt I just get:
    dbxml: error at lowest level:
    2) I tried to reinstall in different directories, but I have always the same error.
    3) Of course I used the included dbxmlvars.bat for setting the environment.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The Windows binaries have not been tested on Vista. It appears that they will not run correctly. You will have to build from source.

  • Can't install bdbxml on Fedora? and have it work?

    Hi,
    This is following on from this: Error trying to import python dbxml package
    And there is a similar thread here: Linking Problem
    System: fedora15 x86_64
    Initially I had everything working and it was going great. The python bindings even looked to be working. However, I then logged out of my root shell session and it all started going wrong:
    1. The python bindings no longer worked
    2. I could no longer start dbxml through /install/bin/dbxml even as the root user.
    3. the whole thing stopped worked and put out lots of errors referring to the xerces .so object.

    Hello,
    It sounds like running buildall.sh did not resolve the unresolved symbols.
    Could something have gone wrong with the definition of
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH or equivalent environment variable used
    on the OS which the linker uses to resolve library dependencies?
    If you run:
    nm dbxml-2.5.16/install/lib/libxerces-c.so
    and grep for the unreferenced symbols it should give a clue as
    to which library contains which symbols and you can verify if that
    is in your library path.
    Let me know if that does not help.
    Thanks,

  • Berkeley DB XML running on a Windows Vista Home Premium AMD 64 system

    Hello everybody,
    following up on [a previous thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3288630#3288630], the problem I have with Vista 64-bit seems to be more basic. If I download and install BDB XML 2.4.16 not even the command line tool works. It just shows the following error:
    Joined existing environment
    \dbxml\bin\dbxml: error at lowest level:Also trying to open any collection in Java using the provided examples fails upon creating a new XmlManager with the following output:

In the other thread the suggestion was to install a C++ compiler and try to build BDB XML from source, but I don't really have the time. Right now I am back to my old hardware to fix an urgent problem.
    Has somebody successfully been able to run BDB XML on Windows Vista 64-bit, even AMD preferrably? If so, did you encounter similar problems?
    What could be the reason for this "internal error"?
    Kind regards
    Jörn

    I'm still having similar issues running DBXML 2.4.16 under Windows Vista 32 bits (Intel processor), after compiling the binaries myself.
    I was using 2.3.10 until recently and everything worked fine. I decided to upgrade to be able to use XQuery Update, but I've encountered the error described in this thread, so I decided to compile it myself, following your recommendations. It worked almost fine, but I cannot connect from two different sources at the same time. For instance, if I open a connection via the Java driver (using Tomcat for instance), and then try to join the same environment using dbxml (for instance, typing dbxml in the folder that has the containers opened by Tomcat), it blocks for about 20 seconds and then says "unable to join the environment". The exact same configuration worked just fine when I had DBXML 2.3.10; using Windows XP, the precompiled binaries for 2.4.16 also work correctly, but 2.4.16 and Windows Vista don't seem to go very well together.
    On a related note, I was having a very similar problem when using Tomcat and (incorrectly) loading the db.jar and dbxml.jar libraries from two different sources (instead of putting it in the Tomcat commons folder): after some seconds trying to connect, the second connection would fail with a DatabaseException (stack trace below). The problem is, under the exact same circumstances, the precompiled 2.4.16 binaries under Windows XP fail with the error 'libdb_java46.dll already loaded in another classloader' (which is covered in another thread). For that reason, I had discarded this possibility under Windows Vista. Since I couldn't find much information my exception anyway, I'm posting it here in the hopes that someone might be able to help me, or that they'll find this thread should they have the same problem.

  • How to change the page size of a replicated container?

    Hi, I would like to change the page size of dbxml 2.3.10.10 containers in a replicated environment.
    This is what I tried so far:
    1) dbxml_dump/dbxml_load (bot utils not usable in a replicated environment)
    2) db_dump/db_load. db_dump works fine. db_load seems to work fine, since it succesfully creates a database/container from a dump file. But it does not correctly initialise the internal dbxml structures since the database/container can not be opened, although getContainers works...
    Besides writing my own dump/load clients, is there any other option to change the page size of an existing container?
    Regards,
    Jacobus Geluk

    Hi George,
    dbxml_dump seems to work fine, but ends with this message:
    DATA=END
    dbxml_dump: Non-replication DB_ENV handle attempting to modify a replicated environment
    dbxml_dump: dump <container name>.dbxml: Error: Unexpected error opening Configuration DB
    dbxml_load more or less has the same error...
    I am currently writing a little Java program that simply dumps all XML documents of all containers in a directory structure...
    That would work as long as the file system can handle it...
    I suppose dbxml_dump/load could be made to work quite easily by just copying their sources and specifiying the replication settings...
    All utilities that cause log activity, that currently do not support replicated environments, should support replicated environments that simply use the default replication transport mechanism. With some additional command line options like --sites it would work...

  • 2.3.10 -- Problem openning environment from command-line

    I am just starting to learn DB XML. I have downloaded and apparently successfully installed DB XML 2.3.10 (on a Ubuntu 6.06 Linux system). I am reading Danny Brian's book "The Definitive Guide to Bekeley DB XML". In Chapter 5, a command is shown to open/create an environment:
    <pre>
    $ dbxml -c -h myenv/
    dbxml> quit
    </pre>
    According to the book, I should expect to see 2 files in myenv/ --> __db.001 & __db.002
    I have created the directory myenv/ and set my defaullt to its parent. When I try this command, I get the error messages shown below:
    <pre>
    dbxml -c -h myenv/unable to initialize mutex: Function not implemented
    PANIC: Function not implemented
    unable to join the environment
    dbxml: error at lowest level: DbEnv::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
    </pre>
    Adding a couple -vv's to the commands produced no more output! Have I successfully installed 2.3.10? Is there anything I'm doing wrong??
    Thanks,
    Denny

    I downloaded the 2.3.10 kit from the Oracle DBXML website a weekago. I unpacked the kit into /usr/local then ran sh buildall.sh!! (2.2.13 is also installed/build in /usr/local)
    I just now started another rebuild with the following commands (all while logged on as root:
    1. cd /usr/local
    2. rm -r dbxml-2.3.10
    3. tar -xvf <kit location>
    4. chown -R root:root dbxml-2.3.10 (was owned by cupsys:users??!!)
    5. sh buildall.sh
    This time, as all the checking messages came by, I noticed that selected mutex = x86/gcc-assembly
    There is one big difference between what I had been doing and this latest attempt: Previously, I unpacked the kit inot my home directory, then did:
    sudo mv <home copy of dbxml> /usr/local
    sudo chown -R root:root ......
    sudo sh buildall.sh
    Could using sudo been the cause of my problem??!!
    I just checked the db-4.5.20 config.log and saw
    db_cv_mutex=x86/gcc-assembly
    Earlier this week (as reported in an earlier response to this post), db_cv_mutex was set to POSIX-something!!??!!
    I am hopeful!!

  • Key Flexfields - to change the max size of an existing segment

    Refer to the Oracle Applications Flexfields Guide ( Chapter 4), it was advised not to amend the maximum size of any existing value set especially if they are right-justify and zero-fill.
    In our case, we must change one of the segment from existing 5 chars to 6 chars and this is an accounting Flexfield ( all segments are right justified zero fill.
    What is the solution how to tackle this ?
    Any suggestions or experience on similar requirements ?

  • Build Problems DBXML-2.4.16 And RHEL 5.3 : __ctype_b Error.

    Hello, I'm attempting a new install of dbxml 2.4.16 on a RHEL 5.3 system. Using the buildall.sh, I am able to build DBXML and Xerces, however, XQilla fails with this error:

    The research I have done points me to a glibc problem on Red Hat system with glibc < 2.3, however, my version of glibc is glibc-2.5.34.i686
    Any suggestions? I'm losing what's left of my hair trying to figure this out.
    Thanks.

    George,
    The problem was that the DbXml.so was being linked with the C compiler (cc) but it needed to be linked with the C++ compiler (CC).
    I worked around the problem by issuing the link command by hand and changing cc to CC
    ie issued the following command in the DbXml directory:
    LD_RUN_PATH="/home/nick/dbxml-2.4.16/dbxml/build_unix/.libs:/usr/local/dbxml-2.4.16/lib" /opt/SUNWspro/bin/CC -G -L/usr/lib -L/usr/ccs/lib -L/opt/SUNWspro/prod/lib/sparc -L/opt/SUNWspro/prod/lib -L/lib -L/usr/local/dbxml-2.4.16/lib -R/usr/local/dbxml-2.4.16/lib DbXml.o -o ../blib/arch/auto/Sleepycat/DbXml/DbXml.so -L/home/nick/dbxml-2.4.16/dbxml/build_unix/.libs -L/usr/local/dbxml-2.4.16/lib -ldbxml-2.4 -ldb_cxx-4 -lxerces-c -lxqilla
    chmod 755 ../blib/arch/auto/Sleepycat/DbXml/DbXml.so
    Now all the tests are successful.
    I don't know how to fix the module to make it use the correct compiler to link.

  • Berkeley DB XML Error: ../src/dbxml/nodeStore/NsEventReader.cpp Line: 829,

    Hi,
    berkeley xml db version: dbxml-2.5.16
    I currently have a job (in java) which creates a container and inserts anywhere between 1,000 - 25,000 documents while the container is open and then closes container.
    I have 5-15 separate processes that kick off an instance this job and each job inserts documents into separate containers(ie pid1 - container A, pid2 - container B, pid3 - container C etc).
    The problem occurs randomly to any process with any one of the below errors:
    1) com.sleepycat.dbxml.XmlException: Error: No such file or directory, errcode = DATABASE_ERROR
    2) com.sleepycat.dbxml.XmlException: Error: Permission denied File: ../src/dbxml/nodeStore/NsEventReader.cpp Line: 829, errcode = DATABASE_ERROR
    The odd thing about receiving the above errors is that when the processes are kicked off again, it goes through fine.
    a snippet of the environment configuration:
    BerkeleyErrorHandler berkeleyerrorhandler = new BerkeleyErrorHandler();
    EnvironmentConfig      environmentConfig = new EnvironmentConfig();
                                            environmentConfig.setErrorHandler(berkeleyerrorhandler);
                                            environmentConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
                                            environmentConfig.setInitializeCache(true);
                                            environmentConfig.setInitializeLocking(true);
                                            environmentConfig.setCacheSize(255 * 1024 * 1024);
                                            environmentConfig.setThreaded(true);
    Insertion of document:
    String xmlDocument
    xmlContainer.putDocument(docName, xmlDocument);
    Java heap size: -Xmx2g
    Ram: 256G
    O.S.: SunOS 5.10

    Hello,
    The, "Build signature doesn't match environment" error indicates
    that you are using an environment created by a different different
    version of BDB than the one you installed. Is there an older
    environment in /var/www/html/modules/lib that something is
    picking up? Or do you have a PATH pointing to another one?
    Thank you,
    Sandra

    my distribution is gentoo...
    maybe the problem is caused by
    - duplicate libraries with different versions
    - or old libraries
    I updated my system and delete duplicate libraries, but the problem continue
    anybody can help me? .... where can investigate?
    another question is: why the problem is present only with apache?
    thanks in advance

    thanks George
    My program ran out of apache.... you are right with your suggerence ... I have to do:
    my distribution is gentoo ... i have installed several versions of gcc (maybe this cause my problem), then with gcc-config command configure default version of gcc to 4.1.2 .... follow the instructions at:
    http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gcc-upgrading.xml
    and that's all
    see you

  • Error redeploying dbxml

    I am having an issue when I redeploy a Tomcat app that uses DBXML.
    Before the app is shutdown, delete() is called on the XmlManager (which should close() dbxml environment as well). however, when the app is redeployed, I get an exception:
    SEVERE: Error reading tld listeners java.lang.NullPointerException
    and then later:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library libdb_java45.dll already loaded in another classloader.
    The app starts fine, however, if I stop and start tomcat.
    Am I destroying dbxml incorrectly? Any ideas?

    As far as I know, Tomcat creates a new classloader each time it loads a servlet. Java has a restriction that a native DLL can only be loaded by one classloader. These two factors combine to give DB XML users on Tomcat no end of headaches.
    I believe the way to fix this is to load the DB XML native DLLs from outside the servlet's classloader - having Tomcat load them for you. If anyone has a step-by-step practical guide for how to do this, that would be great.

  • Dbxml django mod_wsgi not working with error: 'finally' pops bad exception

    Dear experts
    I have a python/django application, 'mysite', which connects to bdbxml. The application works fine using the django development server but fails when run using mod_wsgi with apache - my chosen route for production. Specifically it is the parts of the application that connect to the database that fail with a very unhelpful message, 'finally' pops bad exception.
    I believe from googling that this error is a generic error that is generated by C++ applications when there is no other error message to generate, but I am not a C++ expert so don't really know what it means.
    My views.py function looks like:
    def dbquery(request):
         mgr = XmlManager()
         container = mgr.openContainer("/wsgi/mysite/mysite.bdbxml")
         results = container.getAllDocuments(0)
         for value in results:
              document = value.asDocument()
              return HttpResponse (document.getName())
    my django.wsgi file (using the suggested format from Graham Dumpleton) looks like:
    import os, sys
    sys.path.append('/wsgi')
    sys.path.append('/wsgi/mysite')
    import settings
    import django.core.management
    django.core.management.setup_environ(settings)
    utility = django.core.management.ManagementUtility()
    command = utility.fetch_command('runserver')
    command.validate()
    import django.conf
    import django.utils
    django.utils.translation.activate(django.conf.settings.LANGUAGE_CODE)
    import django.core.handlers.wsgi
    application = django.core.handlers.wsgi.WSGIHandler()
    and httpd.conf looks like:
    WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL}
    WSGIScriptAlias / /wsgi/mysite/apache/django.wsgi
    <Directory /wsgi/mysite>
    Order deny,allow
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
    Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    thanks

    I am experiencing this exact same issue attempting to configure Oracle APEX as a partner application with SSO. I have also followed the Metalink Doc ID:353023.1 to no avail. I have checked all entries in the WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$ table and they all appear to be correct. For a few moments, the application will display the following message:
    Redirecting to the Login Server for authentication...
    Then it displays the following error...
    ORA-01403: no data found
    Error ERR-1082 Error in executing authorization scheme code.
    Can anyone advise what may be causing this issue? Thanks,
    David
