DDE problem
Hi friends.
I am using DDE for writing data to Excel Sheet from WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED. It works fine on some clients PC, but on some others it returns DDE.DMLERR_NO_CONV_ESTABLISHED Error,
that meens'Could not establish DDE communication channel'. I read all documentation I found but it does not tell me what cause this error. Can somebody help me out?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I have oracle 11gR2 installed on OVMAs previously posted, you must open a SR to My Oracle Support.
In *11.2* you have the possibility with ADR (Automatic Diagnostic Repository) to create a Incident Package that you could send to the Support. It can help in the resolution process.
Please, find enclosed a link to this new features in 11g:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17120/diag002.htm#CHDJDBCH
Hope this help.
Best regards,

from the above referenced trc file : I got below message:
DDE: Problem Key 'ORA 600 [qcsprfro_tree:jrs present]' was flood controlled (0x6) (incident: 169998)

Is anybody having any idea about this error's first argument [qcsprfro_tree:jrs present] ? I am not getting any reference document from oracle support also.

---------------- End of Call Stack Trace -----------------Since this is XE and a known bug, my expectations aren't too high. Should I just reboot every week?
There is a dblink that comes in every half hour and deletes and adds around 4K rows in a table. Everything else is just a bored database playing with itself.
I see from MOS ORA-00445 Is Reported While Waiting Too Long To Spawn A Process [ID 1382349.1] an event to set. Should I? Or should I make some dummy process to give the db something to do? (The thinking on the latter is that with so little for the db to do, Windows is making startup of normal things take longer).
Bug 9871302 by the way, buried in there is a mention of background processes failing to start.

Hello,
We are running into a problem web-enabling a client-server Forms application. We are using WebUtil for HOST and OLE calls and sending files between client and app-server and it all works really marvelous. But we noticed that the DDE package is not available in WebUtil. Unfortunately for us, we are using DDE calls to interact with MS Word (for example merging template letters with address-data) and MS Excel (filling out template sheets with data).
Can you tell me if DDE will be available in future releases of WebUtil? And, if not, is it (generally) possible to rewrite the DDE-calls to OLE-calls using WebUtil's CLIENT_OLE functions? And what DDE-functionality maps to the corresponding OLE-functionality?
Or, if it's not possible to rewrite DDE to OLE, what are the alternatives? Removing the interaction between web-forms and MS Office is NOT an option ;-)
Thanks in advance,

DDE problem (close file)
I use Oracle Forms 6 and DDE package.
My dde peace of code work normal and fine, but problem is: How I can work with DDE without show word document on the screen or close that document which is show on screen?
and later unlock that file so I can cut it or delete it?
Another question is: is there any way to formating my word template without make some macro (for ms word) in VB?
thanks and best regards.
mretAre you sure the error occurs at Close File VI? You should put your code in highlight execution mode (the light bulb on the block diagram) and watch your error cluster wire, it will show the error in red text when it occurs, this info may help to pinpoint the issue.

error 472 in job queue process
ORA-00472: PMON process terminated with error
My questions are:
- how can I discover the nature of the ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17183], [0x14E251C38], [], [], [], [], [], []?
- what does error 472 in job queue proces mean?
- is it normal the the error 472 in job queue proces crash the instance?
Thanks in advanca for any kind of help!

ORA-00600 should be reported to oracle. Only they know the meaning.

Error When creating a database on a newly upgraded home to 11.1.0.7
Here are the variables:
OS: LInux RHEL 5.2 64bit
Storage: ASM
Clustered database
This is a fresh install. We first installed 11.1.0.6. Only the software, no databases.
We then applied the 11.1.0.7 patchset to the following homes in the following order
1-CRS Home
2-ASM Home
3-ORACLE_HOME
*Note at this time we only have the software and no actual databases installed.
Once everything is upgraded to 11.1.0.7 (Confirmed by Opatch) we proceeded with installing a database using dbca.
Specified the oracle home and path to the right ones.
Once the install starts we get the following error message:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced. (which really doesn't tell much!!)
the alert log for it shows:
ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure
ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option
and points to another file that shows:

Any thoughts on what the issue might be here??
Thanks in advance.
Edited by: user9538681 on Jan 23, 2009 7:35 AMDid you choose in DBCA a predefined (with seeded databases) or a customized (new database) installation? If it is a predefined installation there is something wrong with the delivered datafiles, although the patchset should include an already patched set of datafiles. The error messages say, you have patched software, but un-patched datafiles.

DG Observer triggering SIGSEGV Address not mapped to object errors in alert log
Hi,
I've got a Data Guard configuration using two 11.2.0.3 single instance databases. The configuration has been configured for automatic failover and I have an observer running on a separate box.
This fast-start failover configuration has been in place for about a month and in the last week, numerous SEGSEGV (address not mapped to object) errors are reported in the alert log. This is happening quite frequently (every 4/5 minutes or so).
The corresponding trace files show the process triggering the error coming from the observer.
Has anyone experienced this problem? I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to fix the configuration to eliminate this error.
I must also note that even though this error is occurring a lot, it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the database functionality.
Help?
Thanks in advance.
BethHi.. The following is the alert log message, the traced file generated, and the current values of the data guard configuration. In addition, as part of my research, I attempted to apply patch 12615660 which did not take care of the issue. I also set the inbound_connection_timeout parameter to 0 and that didn't help either. I'm still researching but any pointer in the right direction is very much appreciated.

DG端不定期报waiting for async I/Os failed错误

Edited by: sarojak on Sep 29, 2009 1:01 AMHave you logged a call with Oracle support? There are many causes of 7445's and oracle supports web site has a handy set of documents about them. Also they have:- : Troubleshoot an ORA-600 or ORA-7445 Error Using the Error Lookup Tool. I would highly recomend talking to them.

Corrupt Datafiles following "Successful" Clone Process
Looking for help with the following problem/issue:
We attempted to clone our production database to our development environment using RMAN, following a process successfully used on multiple occasions in the past.
Both databases are running on UNIX and are versoin 11.2.0.2.7 (with JUL2012 PSU applied).
The RMAN cloning operation completed WITHOUT errors AND, the new database can be shutdown, started, and accessed via SYS logoin, but all attempts by users to access the databsae returns "corrupt datafile" message on most datafiles.
Below is what we are seeing in the alert log:
Tue Nov 06 19:52:39 2012

This is the FIRST attempt to clone the production database since the installation of the JUL2012 patch -- and this is the ONLY change to all servers since the last successful cloning.
We have since attempted cloning between different environments (to rule out server specific issue) and cloning to new mount points (to rule out h/w issue), but eah attempt results in the same errors.
If anyone has experienced this same issue/problem, any insight is welcome. Anyone with viable options, ideas also welcome.
Our next approach will be to uninstall patches since our last "good" cloning and attempt again.
Thanks!Yes, but the UNDO tablespace is just one of many --- in fact, most tablespaces are affected, including the SYSTEM tablespace.
Following one clone attempt, we were able to manually correct a large portion of the corruption errors and make the instance accessible, but any attempt to access indexes and/or modify data, resulted in corruption messages.
