DDNS Disabled

While trying to change a DDNS identity on a clients WRV54G the status always appeared as DDNS is Disabled, indicating that the router was not communicating with the DDNS server.
I found that if the router had an existing configuration, DDNS could not be changed.
Fix was to reset router to Factory Settings and configure DDNS as first step. When saved , Status came up as DDNS is Enabled - working OK.
All other settings were restored manually.
BobMan

Here's how I fixed this.
1 - Using "Config Management" download the current configuration to a CNF file.
2 - Make a copy of the CNF file and rename it.
3 - Edit the CNF file in NOTEPAD
4 - Search for dyndns, the section looks like this:
    (ddns
    (status(0))
    (provider(dyndns.org))
    (response( - IP updated successfully))
    (last_update(1206754254))
    (enabled(1))
    (username(yourdyndnsuserid))
    (password(&c6;Ub&c3;&ab;&19;a&cf; ))
    (hostname(yourhostnamed.homeip.net))
    (wildcard(0))
    (offline(0))
    (device(ixp1))
    (last_ip(x.x.x.x))
5 - Erase all the lines between the line that starts "(ddns" and the line with a single " ) "
6- Paste the default dyndns config as shown below...
  (ddns
    (status(1))
    (provider(dyndns.org))
    (response())
    (last_update(0))
7 - Save the CNF file.
8 - Using "Config Management" upload edited CNF file
9 - When the router reboots, the DDNS configuration will be blank.  You can setup DYNDNS (et al).
HERE'S THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART
10 - Using "Config Management" download the repaired configuration to a CNF file.  Make several copies.  Put at least one on removable media.

  • RTSP Problem with WVC54GCA

Hi everyone, We have just got a Linksys WVC54GCA and I cannot for the life of me get it working with either Windows Media Player or on my Windows Mobile device. I have got the functionaility all working, you can view it through a webpage inside or outside the network and use the utility outside the network to view the cam.
    Here are my settings:
    UPnP: Enabled
Alternate Web Port: Enabled - 8181

Hi all, RTSP seems to be the biggest issue with most folks....Keep mind that port 5000 is UDP!  If you are simply forwarding TCP this will NOT work, you must select UDP or  BOTH for forwarding that port 5000 to the cam.
You can see the Linksys WVC54GCA review at www.MyHomeServer.com, this shows how to do the basics but we did fail to mention port 5000 UDP here.  We will work on a new troubleshooting RTSP document shortly where all of this info can be found in one place.
    Hope this helps!

Subject pretty much summarizes it, I really never set up the router properly as far as the settings go.  However, I find it very sluggish and I really don't want to mess with it, if I have no idea what I am doing.  It's quite a vague question, however, any help would be appreciated.  Information from my side will be avaliable if you need it.

  • Toshiba e-Studio 3511c Possible Solution [aka "eStudio" and "e Studio"]

    Greetings --
I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6 this weekend and just knew that I would have printing problems (I always do when performing an upgrade...) and trolled the message boards to help resolve my anticipated problems with my Toshiba e-Studio 3511c. As my solution does not appear to be reflected in any of the posts that I have seen I thought it might prove to be helpful to post it here.
First, the Toshiba itself has a variety of network settings. The are accessed by pointing your web browser to the IP address of the copier (my Windows tech guy had set it to a static IP address some time ago to avoid intra-network conflicts and told me what it is; I think that a static address is important so that the Mac always knows where to print to). While I played around with the settings, they did not appear to resolve my problem, and I reset them to the state that I used with 10.5 and earlier versions of OSX, to wit:
    Address Mode: Static IP
    Enable IPX/SPX Disable
    Enable Apple Talk Enable
    Enable Bonjour Disable
    Enable LDAP Disable
    Enable DNS Enable
    Enable DDNS Disable
    Enable SLP Enable
    SMB Server Protocol Enable
    Enable Bindery Disable
    Enable NDS Disable
    Enable HTTP Server Enable
    Enable SMTP Client Enable
    Enable SMTP Server Enable
    Enable POP3 Client Disable
FTP Client Default Port Number 21
    Enable FTP Server Enable
    Enable SNMP Enable
I don’t know what most of these mean nor the effect on printing for any but will be glad to provide additional detail to other hapless users of e-Studio 3511c’s -- simply e-mail me at [email protected].
Next, download the driver package from http://www.copiers.toshiba.com/support/downloads.jsp?site= ; I downloaded “- dmg.gz - Mac OSX (from 1.70 CD) 06/14/07 1.70” and installed it. Unlike other posters, I received no error messages. Like other posters, I had to take this step because 10.6 deleted my old PPD’s.
Then, do the “Add Printer” thing from System Preferences's "Printer and Fax" control panel. After flailing about for quite a while, I found the following worked:
    IP printing
    HP Jetdirect - Socket
    [my Toshiba’s static IP address]
Amazingly (to me, anyway), the PPD was immediately identified and placed in the “Print Using” selector (it is the 4511 driver and there are two versions -- if you are in the U.K. I assume that you would use the U.K. version, I used the “other one”). (I was also quite shocked that the "HP" setting worked -- this is obviously not an HP printer!)
Anyway, the click “Add” and perhaps select your Toshiba's add-ons, if any.
If anybody has any questions about this “stuff,” please feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected], as I do not really monitor these message boards.
    I hope this helps!

    Hi dude
Here on this page you can find the Toshiba page which provides manuals and software for printers, fax, etc
    https://electronicimaging.toshiba-europe.com/
In User Manual options please choose:
    Document Managers -> E-Studio 160
Here you could find some user manual (Network, Printers, etc) which could help you to sort out this issue.
    Good luck

  • Replaced WRT54G with WRT120N, same settings, no DSL?

Hello. Thanks for looking at my problem...
    My setup:
    1 DSL model
    1 WRT120N
    1 PC via Ethernet
    1 Laptop via Ethernet
    1 PS3 via wireless
My DSL modem works fine without the router. I can connect directly to the modem and the internet works. When I connect the computers over the router, they cannot recieve internet. I believe that at one point I was able to get the computers to talk to eachother, though.
As you can guess, I want this router to take my dsl and pass it to all my computers. I had this previous setup functioning with my WRT54G. With the WRT120N, I've copied the settings from the old router as best as I could. I've included all the settings that seem relevant; I did not include the wireless settings because the internet doesn't even work through ethernet. But I will post those too if you need them.
    The settings on my WRT120N:

  • DDNS: DDNS has been disabled........Need help figuring out error message

Already set up nannycam (Cisco WVC80N).  Fowarding connection from port 80 to 1024 on router which is same as camera port.  Have populated all necessary fields (email, TZO Key and domain name.  Received Routers External IP Address, however when saved I receive following error message:

Bad Authentication - Username or Password - check setting and try again
I cant remotely connect to camera's server via my domain.
    Help!!!

What is the model number of your wireless router?
Open the setup page of the camera. Go to 'Options ' in the left panel. Enable the Alternate web port and port 1024. Save the settings. Make sure that you have entered the correct TZO settings.
Now open the port 1024 on your router for the IP address of the camera.
Check the Internet IP address on the router. Who is your Internet service provider?

  • DDNS and UPnP Problems On the WVC80N Camera

For weeks I've been having problems with the two things I mentioned in the subject field. I did talk to an Upper Level Tech Support from Linksys on Sunday, but she disabled my my UPnP on my Router, well that can't happen because if I do that then I might as well get rid of my TZO Account, which that will happen next month if I don't renew it. I keep getting error messages, it was on both of my WVC80N Cameras but now it's only on one of them. The message says the DDNS: Failed to get current public IP Address a little bit of that, but alot of this UPnP: Internet Gateway UPnP Discovery Failure. I have a WRT160N V3 Router, it still records on motion but if the UPnP problem keeps coming on it might not record when the problem occurs. I on TimeWarner Cable, can the problem be with them?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You have 2 WVC80N cameras.
Let me know what are the IP addresses of your cameras and when do you get error?
You have WRT160N router. Open the setup page of the router and check the Internet IP address on the status page of the router.
Make sure that the proper ports are opened on your for both the cameras.
Can you see the camera on the local network ?

  • I can not reactivate my DDNS service after having reinstalled my Creative Live Wireless Webcam

    Hi,
After having changed my wireless router's network key, I had to change of course also the key
stored in my Creative Live Wireless Internet Camera setup. To do
this, I have deleted my cam definitions and did a scratch install after
resetting. However now I can not register my URL name anymore and DDNS is
disabled. The setup wizard says that it could not connect to the server to
register my host name (in fact this name is already registered by me before) and that I should try again. I attempted numerous times, no help!
The IP adress of my Creative Wireless Cam is 92.68..250, it is exactly the same as it
was before. My registered URL was "goztepe.creativeddns.com" and remote monitoring?was working?
with these parameters without any problem, which are still the same as before, I did not change them.
How should I reactivate my DDNS service? Maybe a reset or something alike is needed on the Creative Server which is doing the URL registrations? I would appreciate any help because I
am not able to access my cam from remote anymore!
    Thanks in advance. Ozgur Ozdemir

  • No Picture at the DDNS site

    Hi There,
My WVC200 was working fine ond day and the next, it decided to no longer put a picture on the DDNS site. I checked the camera at the Linksys "View Video" tab and I can see the picture there.  When I go to the DDNS site, the top of the page comes up, but no video, where do I begin to figure out why?  www.scooter.mypets.ws is the site the video is directed to.

Well i feel its the Problem with your Browser, and might be Active X must have got disable thats the reason you are not able to view Video.
To enable Active X on your computer follow this instruction.
       1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
       2. Click Programs. Then, click Turn Windows Features On And Off. A UAC prompt appears.
       3. At the Windows Features dialog, select ActiveX Installer Service check box. Then, click OK.
       4. Restart your computer.
       5. After the computer restarts, you need to set the ActiveX Installer (AxInstSV) service to start automatically. Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Manage. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services. Right-click ActiveX Installer (AxInstSV), and then click Properties. Click Startup type, and then click Automatic. Then, click the Start button, and finally click OK.
Once you are done with the settings i think you will be able to view Video and Pticures on your Computer.

  • E3000 Cascade - disables Cisco Connect

I have a 2621XM router that I use for my gateway and firewall and wish to keep this as my main security device.  I liked the parental control and USB storage features of the new E3000 and purchased this to replace my WRTG54.
My problem is that  when attached to the same LAN segment (LAN to LAN cascade) I loose the ability to use Cisco Connect and thus loose the ability to manage guest access, parental controls and such.
I've read that disabling DHCP server on the E3000 disables Cisco Connect.  Is this true?  I have internal DHCP and DNS servers and do not wish to separate the scopes and manage them from two devices with yet another IP scope.
In my opinion...the lack of the ability to manage these advanced features from the WEB interface is a serious flaw.  Loosing the walled garden type features just because you choose not to use the E3000 router or DHCP function is just not acceptable.  I hope this is being addressed by Cisco/Linksys.

If you connect the E3000 with a LAN port to your main router then you operate it like a simple access point and ethernet switch. All internet related functions won't work then. Parental control, access restrictions or other things like DDNS, port forwarding etc. won't work because those functions operate only when traffic is routed through the router. If you don't use the internet port traffic is not routed through the E3000. This is always the case.
Regarding the guest access you can only hope that they'll add it to the web interface very soon. I suggest calling Linksys support and telling them. Maybe if a lot of users call them and ask for this they'll add it sooner.

  • How can I disable sending from one Mail account?

Hello. I have a gmail account that I use to subscribe to various newsletters and accounts. So it's essentially a read-only account for me. But I too frequently accidently send mail from that account. Is there a way to prevent mail from being sent from that account?

I want to do the same thing as the OP.  I have tried making outgoing server none. And checking "always use this server so it prompts me to edit the message so that I manually select a different address to send from inthe drop down list. And selecting a different account for composing.  Actually, all my outgoing emails keep coming from the one account I am attempting to disable.  Got any other ideas?

  • Not null and enable or disable  column in tabular form

    Hi,
Using apex version 4.1 and working on tabular form.
    ACT_COA_SEGMENT_MAS is Master table
    and
    ACT_SEGMENT_VALUES_MAS is detail table
I have entered 8 rows in master table and PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is column in master table which is null able. If i specified PARENT_SEGMENT_ID with value in master table then in detail table there is column PARENT_ID that should not be null and enable.
How i can enable or disable column when in master table PARENT_SEGMENT_ID column is null then in detail table PARENT_ID column should disable and vice versa.
I have created tabular form on Detail table. before insert into the tabular form Check in master table in first entry if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null in first row of master table then in tabular form PARENT_ID should enable and not null able in corresponding to this first row id's lines in tabular form.
Same should check for second row in master table if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null then entered rows with PARENT_ID into tabular form corresponding to 2nd id in master table should not nullable and column should enable in tabular form.

    Vedant,
You need to create you own manual tabular form and not use the wizard.
Using APEX_ITEM api you should be build you own form and you will be able to control how you wan to display the rows. (See Link [Apex Item Help|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_item.htm#CACEEEJE] )
select case when PRIMARY_TABLE_COLUMN is null then APEX_ITEM.DISPLAY_AND_SAVE(3 , DETAIL_COLUMN ) else APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,detail_column) end "ALIAS" from detail table
    Hope that help.

  • NOT disabling keyboard/trackpad on tablet fold...

This is probably the opposite of user problems regarding the keyboard/trackpad and turning the Yoga Pro 2 in tablet mode... Here's the situation:
I'm a Java programmer and I'm sharing my files with my home PC, so I can work from my laptop or desktop easily without transferring files back and forth.
It's no fun adjusting my typing to multiple different keyboards for different PCs, and overall I tend to prefer a trackpad over a mouse for what I do which makes using my lenovo yoga keyboard ideal for everything (majority of wireless keyboards also aren't backlit).
I'm using the program Mouse without Borders (from the Microsoft website) so that I can use my lenovo yoga keyboard/trackpad on my desktop.
What I want to do: keep my keyboard and trackpad enabled when putting the yoga into tablet mode. I've already figured out how to disable the touchscreen for such uses, but the only way I know to keep the keyboard and trackpad active is to uninstall the synaptics driver/software. Obviously that isn't an ideal solution to have to install and uninstall it every time I switch between PCs.
Is there any way to stop synaptics from disabling the keyboard and trackpad when in tablet mode? Preferrably something such as disabling something in device manager, not uninstalling and reinstalling software depending my use for the moment.

    Please provide more information.
First, I have no idea what "Jimi to Jimi" means. This is probably just something you need to explain to me; a Google search didn't turn up anything useful.
You said that the keyboard and trackpad aren't working right. What does this mean, exactly? Regardless, the monitor you use should have no effect on the function of your other peripherals.
