You can't deactivate it. You have to get the ID and password from the previous owner or have them erase it and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. There's no way around this and no one else can help.

You have 2 activations on any normal license. Only specific volume licenses allowed more activations with the same serial number. Anyway, it's a moot point. Contact support by web chat to reset activations server-side.

Can't install, because I cannot deactivate previous downloads

I am trying to register a re-installation of Illustrator on a new computer, but cannot do so because Illustrator was downloaded to other computers. However, I cannot deactivate on those computers, because they were damaged beyond function.

Unable to deactivate previous coldfusion builder 2 installations

I can't activate an installation of ColdFusion Builder 2 because it says I have two adjacent installations of CF Builder on two other computers.
The two other computers disks drives were erased before CF Builder could be deactivated.
So, it still thinks they are currently being used.
What can I do ??

You need to contact Adobe Support thru char and ask to have your activations reset.

Deactivate PS CS3 after uninstalling.

I uninstalled CS3, thinking it would give me the same deactivation script as Lightroom 1 did.
Now that I'm trying to reactivate it on a different computer, I found that the previous copy hadn't been deactivated.
Do I need to reinstall, activate and deactivate CS3 on the original computer? Or can I deactivate it some other way?
Btw, does anybody know why Adobe software doesn't uninstall and deactivate previous versions, like most other software? It seems rather burdensome to have to do all this seperately, not to mention the disk space used for ppl who aren't aware of this problem.

Welcome to the forum. I cannot comment on Lightroom, as I only did beta testing on it, and have not chosen to buy it.
Most Adobe programs, that require Activation, also require that you Deactivate, prior to uninstalling.
This is just a guess, as I have never tried to buck the order of things. I would guess that you will need to reinstall, THEN Deactivate, then uninstall. You might be able to bypass this, if you call Customer Support.
Wish I had a definitive answer, but I have always Deactivated, prior to uninstalling.

Launching a subscription or Creative Cloud products results in the error, "Maximum Activations Exceeded."
Solution 1: Deactivate previous machines
The error indicates that you have already activated this membership on two machines and you are attempting to activate it on a third. Deactivate one of the previous machines before proceeding. If you have access to the previously activated machines, choose Help > Deactivate within the application. Alternatively, you can deactivate all previous machines by following the steps below.
Launch the Adobe product.
At the Maximum Activations Exceeded screen, click Continue.
On the Sign In Required screen, click Sign In.
Enter your Adobe ID associated with your membership and click Sign In.
A Thank you screen appears after activating. If any of the following errors occur, follow the steps listed.

Totally false. It will still function as it has. You may not be able to download newer more resource demanding Apps , but anything you currently have on it will still run on it.
Just because you can't update anymore, doesn't mean the iPad will cease to function.
It will run as it has without the updates but again your App choices will likely become more and more limited. but that's it. You should still be able to view websites, check your email etc... just fine.

I have been updating my PSE since 10. Recently I purchased PSE13 as I didn't see an update for my 12. I was changing to a new laptop as my old laptop had been patched and worked and was showing signs of giving out. It was a Window's 7OS. My new one is a Windows 8 OS so I bought the 13 and downloaded it on the new laptop. Our desktop had died so I downloaded the 13 on the new desk computer also. Not thinking I downloaded 13 on my old laptop as I hope to get it patched up enough to be a backup for my photography. When I tried to activate it I realized that I had downloaded it too often. I didn't know you could only use it on two computers. Learn something new every day.. Any way I removed it and now my PSE 12 does not seem to be working. Now it could be something that I did or something that is an issue with the laptop. this laptop has all the previous editions on board as I always tried to update, except for the year I got a really good deal on Black Friday. I also notice that the new laptop has a copy of PSE 12 in the program list. To my knowledge I have never deactivated any of my PSE's except the extra 13 downloaded. Bottom line, do I need to go in and deactivate previous PSE versions and removed them from my computer? I could certainly use the space and secondly, can I deactivate the PSE 12 and then go back and reacitivate it and install it again on the old laptop or the desktop, whichever I deside would be the most appropriate place for the newer program. We have a daily load to Cube through Process Chain,and it has got 2 aggregates on it.
The steps in the Process Chain is as follows:
1.Delete Index from CUBE1.
2.Load data to CUBE1.
3.Create Index On CUBE1.
4.Delete Overlapping request From CUBE1.
5: Roll Up of CUBE1.
Note: We have kept COMPRESS AFTER ROLLUP SETTING ON in the Aggregate.
Now The problem is everyday while performing 4th steps i.e.Deleting Overlapping request.
First it deactivates previouse aggregates and then delete overlapping request and fill the aggregates again in this step only and later on it failed by giving following error: : Error when structuring the index of aggregate 100079 for InfoCube ZCOPA_C05. Each day we have to repeat this failed steps.And 5 steps is no more use as aggregates filled by previous steps only.
So, can anyone suggest me how to overcome from this probs.

hope the load is full load to cube. we have faced the same issue.
first step before the load deactivate the aggregates using the program, then you can have the dlelete index lod cube delete request and create index then add the activate and fill program for the aggregates.
rollup and fill in this case going to have same time(full load )

ActiveX Printing Problem from Enterprise

Hi,
We have a user that is trying to print a published report from Crystal Enterprise. when the user clicks on the print icon, the intermediate print popup is displayed with a white screen and just hangs without getting to the print dialog box. I understand that this maybe linked to an out of date print activex control. Has anybody encountered this before or know how to uninstall and re-install the control

Assuming that the Enterprise server is not on his machine, he should first remove the activeX download. Tools-> Internet Options -> settings (on the general tab) . View the objects and you will see the activeX download.
I think you will need to find out if there were previous verssions of the product installed on his machine. It is possible there is older activeX files installed. Maybe old dll files and registry settings from older products.

Did you deactivate previous versions? It may be you are out of activations.
Was the version and upgrade? If so, it may be asking for the previous S/N, not the current one.
If you are trying to install on Win 8.1 or Yosemite, that may be the issue. I am not sure of the compatibility.

"dirty" installation of CS4

I am trying to install CS4 on my MacBook Pro (running OS 10.6, Sonow Leopard). I was unaware of the need to deactivate previous versions prior installation. I failed to do this before when going from CS to CS3 on my old MacBook. Now when CS4 is finished uploading to my computer it is giving me an error message of 150:30. I have made the mistake of removing the old components of CS and CS3 by using the AppZapper Application and have no known way to de-activate previous serial numbers now. Can anyone offer any assistance?

CS just needed to be dragged to the trash. No activation in CS, no special uninstaller. CS 3 did have an uninstaller. If you have the DVD then you should still be able to uninstall. There will be no de-activation possible, unless you deactivate CS4, uninstall CS4, install CS3, deactivate CS3, uninstall CS3, re-install CS4, activate CS4.
If you just want to make sure there are no bits left over from CS3 you can run the CS3 Cleanscript: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Except for space considerations, there is no reason to remove CS3 when installing CS4 (only Acrobat needed removal). Many people still need CS3 AND CS4 on their computers for business reasons.
