Dead Phone (Again)
Hi All,
My Lumia 800, and decided not to switch it’s self on again. It’s just a black screen, and doesn’t respond to any button presses.
I’ve tried charging overnight, and holding the buttons to reset it. But with no luck.
The same issue has occurred 7 times now! And requires me to send it back to Nokia for re-flashing.
Has anyone else has this this issue reoccurring, as it’s beyond a joke.
What are the chances of Nokia replacing the phone?

What are the chances of Nokia replacing the phone? Depends on which country. In an EU country or in U.S. you have leverage. In Asian and ME countries especially India with weak consumer laws, no chance.

Firs off, sorry, I did not know exactly where to put this topic in.
Okay so, let me tell you this is the second time Fedex has STOLEN my iPhone.
The first time, a few years back, I sent my iphone 4s in to apple because I was having problems with it, well I wait a good while, untill I finally decide to contact apple about my phone, to see if they have shipped it back to me. Well at that time, they said they did ship it.. long story short, it was shipped to me the very next day they received it, somebody at fedex just "lost" my package, so Apple did an investigation and shipped me a new phone, I thank Apple for that!
Okay now, recently I sent them in my sons iPhone for repair, it was a phone I traded one of my cousins for ... it was from sprint, (she got it im assuming 2 years ago since it still had Apple Coverage on it), anyways,I just wanted it for him to be able to play games on it and add music too. Sp recently I noticed the WiFi wouldnt connect at all, it was just always "greyed out", so I submitted that to Apple, and was told I would get a package, where I was to send the phone to them right. Okay so as I did like the last time, I packed up my son's iphone 4s & dropped it off at the nearest Fedex Location, and got a receipt, since it says on the instructions to obtain a receipt, to prove u sent your package and what not. Okay well I check my tracking to make sure my phone got to Apple when its supposed to, it says "Delivered". Okay so I wait a couple days to see if the status changes on the Apple Website, and nothing, so I check my email to see if I got an email or anything, and I did! And I recieved an email saying that Apple received my box "EMPTY & UNTAMPERED WITH"!! How that happend, I do not know, all I can think of is that some one at Fedex stole my phone, AGAIN. SO I have been on and off the phone with Apple trying to figure this out, and the latest thing they have told me is "since we recieved your package EMPTY, you have to show proof of purchase" which is nearly impossible I think, because my cousin who i got the phone from, does not have access to her account, nor does she have the reciept to the phone.
My question is, so now what do I do? What Can I do?? I sent them my son's phone, and Fedex stole it, and Apple basically looks like they aint going to do anything since I dont have "Proof of Purchase".Okay, I had to think for a minute, but I think I know what you're talking about, even if I can't help much. Maybe I'm mistaken, but does it start bugging you about making your payment, even though it's not due for a week or so? I'm not sure if there's anything you can do, but I have my payments set up to automatically be paid from my bank account every month, so I never get those alerts. I do understand how irritating it probably is because it's almost like they don't trust you to remember to make the payment. I don't mind being reminded, but once should be enough. I have most of the accounts I pay monthly set up to remind me a few days ahead, but that has always been an option I had to request and I was able to pick how many days ahead they reminded me.
Edit: I forgot that I do get one reminder, but it's to let me know they are going to be making the withdrawal from my account on a specific date, but they only send the one, so it's not a big irritation to me -
I was trying to get the iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5 but then it stopped and my phone is now on recovery mode I have pictures I need and they did not all fit on iCloud how can I use the phone again with ALL my pictures and videos without restoring it?
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -

I hope this community can tell me tell how I can get through the Verizon sign-in process soI can buy a phone to replace my currently dead one.
I am a member of a Family Plan run by my daughter (out of the country for a week)and even with her ID and password, Verizon does not accept my sign-in attempt when I could not answer her Secret Question. With a dead phone, I cannot get from Verizon including a PIN. I can use my husband's phone (also in the Familhy Plan) but Verizon does not allow access to anyone but the registered plan administrator. My phone number-- with decades of phone bills from Verizon --- is "not recognized. " Huh?
I am so frustrated. HELP!! How can I access Verizon:
--to buy a phone and add to Family plan;
--delete dead phone from plan;
--learn the gory financial details of a contract, and
--arrange for that new phone to be shipped to me.
I had tried the live chat, but I had to leave the page to locate my daughter's phone number. Since I never actually type it out, and since it was locked inside my dead phone, I had to reach out to my family so they could look ion their contact phone lists. And now I cannot regain access Chasmine, my chat person.
I would be grateful for any advice. I am without a working phone and beginning to believe I shall remain that way. I would walk away from Verizon except it would work against my family and their contracts. However, I have learned just how powerful an essential company can be when it takes advantage of people dependent on its "services."
Meanwhile, the reality is I need to know how to deal with Verizon and get a phone. All thoughts are welcome and appreciated. I cannot even find a phone number to try to talk to a Verizon person. Thank youYoull still have to be the account owner to make those changes.

I upgraded to iOS 5 on my 3GS without any issues but now everytime I connect to iTunes the message ' iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone. would you like to restore the phone again now? with the options of cancel, continue restore and delete back-up. what happens if i click delete back up?
I'm not getting the message anymore!
What I did:
1.- Went to preferences in itunes/ Devices --> erased the corrupted backup (there were two backups)
2.- Upgraded to iOS 5.0.1
Done!
PS: Maybe upgrading solves the problem without erasing the corrupted backup -
How do I back up the calendar and contacts from my iPhone5 to my new macbook pro(10.8.3)? I have backed up the phone, but it does not transfer the calendar or the contacts. If I check them in the sync area and then back up the phone again will they transfer or be erased? I am a bit gun shy since my previous macbook pro committed suicide and I lost a ton of info there.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer.

I updated my IOS on my iPhone 4S and it locked up. I had to restore my phone and now iTunes will not go past the setup your phone screen even though the phone as been restored. How do I get iTunes to go past this screen so I can sync my phone again?
Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

Unfortunatly my friend was being stupid and stole my iPhone and put a passcode of it, but he made it a random code that he doesn't know himself. I tried to sync it with iTunes but since I never synced it with that computer it won't give me acess to anything, the computer I origanally sync it to was wipped and got restated from scratch. I never had the need to sync it to it again so I never did (Which I'm now really regreating.)
So is there a way I can get back into my phone again? (And if there is how do I do it? and will it erase everything on it?)

You may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.

My iphone was restored and i tried to back it up, but instead of getting all of my information i got my mother's instead. I dont know if i should try to reset my phone again because im worried that my mother will lose all of her data too??
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Any suggestionYou've got a problem with no easy solution. It appears your phone was hacked to unlock it so you could use it where you live. Updating software on a hacked iPhone will re-lock the phone to the carrier it was originally locked to...that's what happened to you.
Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking...in your case, a carrier in Canada. However, none of the carriers in Canada will authorize the unlocking of your phone unless you are a current/former customer who used the phone on their network.
Thus, there doesn't appear to be any way for you to get this phone officially unlocked, unless you want to fly to Canada & first establish service. -

If you backed up your phone, restoring the backup will restore the photos that were in your camera roll. If you didn't, all you can do is sign back into your iCloud account and enable photo stream. That will allow you to access photo stream photos from the last 30 days.

The iPhone's internal components are soldered together. There is no way to recover data from your phone if it refuses to power up.

I put my sim tray in the wrong way when I was putting my sim card in my new Iphone. Pulling it out it got stuck and broke, leaving my sim card and the bottom part of the tray inside. Trying to get the sim card out I somehow broke one of the metal plates for the sim card. The guy that fixes my phone said he couldn't fix it and it could never be a phone again...): Is there anyway It could be or somehow I could get it fixed or replaced?
