Deauthorise a dead computer when limit of 5 and year reached
I have a computer that has crashed twice and I have had to rebuild. I cannot reathorise it as my limit of 5 has been reached. I cannot deauthorise all it has happend twice and I cannot deauthoise all until May 2014.
Help - a real catch 22.
If you can't deauthorise it directly on it and you've used the 'deauthorise all' then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can deauthorise all for you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I had Iphoto on my computer when i bought it and now had to reinstall a new hard drive do i have to buy it again?
reinstall from the original source
Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

My phone is uploading photos from my computer when I sync it - any ideas how I can stop this and remove what it's uploaded already?? Edit functions on phone won't delete the uploaded albums :-/
Connect the iPhone to your PC/Mac with iTunes open.
On iTunes do this:
- go to summary (left hand side)
- select the option photos to the right
Here you need to decide how you would like to set how your iPhone syncs photos from your PC/Mac. Its is up to you wether you only want to sync selected or all photos. Once you have made the changes select "Apply" to the bottom right.
Hope this helps -

How do i deauthorise a dead computer?
How do i deauthorise old computers if they have died. i'm up to computer number 4.
About deauthorizing specific computers - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3809988 - Only, if you have physical access to the computer or are running VNC, otherwise you have to deauthorize all computers. De-authorize all computers button may not appear until you actually have 5 authorized and you can only do this once a year.

My old computer died, long live the computer! Thought I'd be slick and sync my iphone with all 2000+ songs to my new computer. Loaded up iTunes, no problem, downloaded all the songs I've purchased, but when it came to syncing, it said the phone was looking for my old computer. How do I get the phone to recognize the new computer?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

How to add itunes to new computer when old harddrive crashed and itunes is on 5 computers now
My computer's harddrive crashed and i purchased a new computer but i have itunes on the limit of 5 computers now and cannot deauthorize the broken computer
You should be able to de-authorise all of your computers via your account (which you can do once every 12 months), and you can then re-authorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and de-authorising

Not getting the option to deauthorise my old computer which isnt here anymore and then authorise my new computer. What do I try next?
If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

Unplug the computer when the battery is charging
Hi all,
Can I unplug the computer when it's chargin and then replug it again after 15 or 20 minutes?
Does it creat some problem?
Thanks,
OleguerIf you remove the charger the computer will continue to run on battery. When you reconnect the charger the battery will begin to re-charge from whatever level it was at. Once the battery is fully charged the charging circuitry shuts off the charger to prevent over-charging and unnecessary charge re-cycling. The charger will turn back on once the battery level has dropped below 95 percent.
To get the best performance from your battery as well as maintain an accurate measure of battery charge you should calibrate the battery periodically. -
Synching to new computer when old computer is dead...
I'm sure it's been asked before, but I can't find the answer.
I had all my music on one machine, and about 95% was from CD. About 5% was purchased from iTunes. This machine was a macbook, and the hard drive crashed last week.
I've installed a new hard drive.
1- Can I move the music off my iPod to the new hard drive? Or just the iTunes music?
2- I can't deauthorize the old hard drive, because it's dead.
Outside of ripping all my CDs again (which took me months), how can I get my music off my ipod on to my new machine.
And yes, some of it is backed-up, but the stuff I finished over the last 6 weeks is not.
Thanks*1- Can I move the music off my iPod to the new hard drive? Or just the iTunes music?*
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
Senuti Mac Only
PodView Mac Only
PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
iRepo Mac & Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows
YamiPod Mac & Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
*2- I can't deauthorize the old hard drive, because it's dead.*
You can't deauthorise a 'dead' installation or a computer you no longer have access to on it's own. However once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option once a year to deauthorise them all in one go and start over: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation -
When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7 and iPhone 5.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have. -
I need to authorize an new computer but I am at the limit of five and can't deauthorize from old computers as they are either dead or not in my procession. How do I deauthorize all computers so that I can authorize my new computer?
The page Roger posted is good but was very confusing for me. I'll try to help you out since that article was confusing to me.
In iTunes, Click your name/email that is directly to the left of the search bar.
Click account info.
Click this button where the mouse is:
(the screenshot is from an older iTunes on windows, but it is the same on the new versions)
Done!
You can only use that button once per year, so try to remember to deauthorize computers before you get rid of them. -
My ipod touch won't turn on. The battery is not dead. When I plug it in to the charger or my computer nothing happens. Does anyone know what to do?
You might want to post your question over in the iPod Touch forums (this is iPhone): https://discussions.apple.com/community/ipod/ipod_touch.
